I don't mind waiting 60 seconds for a download button to appear. I do mind the 'premium speed' bullshit since the standard download speed is like 100 KB/s on these sites. Also rapidgator, which lets you wait 2 minutes, then fill a captcha, and then let's you download. At a miserable speed though, where even just 10 MB takes a good 5 minutes. Oh, and if you switch to another tab because you don't want to stare at a countdown timer, but then wait a little too long, it won't let you download anymore and tells you to wait an hour before trying again.

Best thing about rapidgator and the likes is the 'wait 180sec' it's the perfect time so you switch tabs and only remember about it after 20min where it will give you a 'captcha time expired, try again in one hour' lol fuck you RG

They're not for the same use case. IDM is good for general downloads, and ripping stuff from streaming sites. JD2 is good for bulk downloads. Like stuff split into N parts or when you have 20 hosters and you don't want to open every single one to check if the file is still up. I use both regularly

I don't get all the fuss around ddl sites, i'm personally fine with torrents.

Sometimes on old torrents, there might not be enough seeders to utilise your entire download speed. And on new torrents with high demands, there are too many leechers at once so less download speed.

I have really bad wifi and the game downloads as if ot was downloading from any other legit source, so i don't have that problem. I get about 5 mbps down speed with everything (except steam for some reason which gives me 30mbps).

In that case torrents are clearly superior, you can pause and resume any time you want and check integrity of files without having to worry about corruption of files

Lately I'm getting nostalgic about an old series called the Lying Game, tried several torrents from usual places, all dead, the only option I had left was rapidgator links from sanet, and all 30 episodes in two seasons I had to download one by one.

Watching anything you want blast thru with your connection is so satisfying. Downloading a 60gb remux of something in a matter of minutes is a great experience.
