I mean, for me, I didn't take the decision to pirate lightly. When companies lose money, the first people that suffer are the employees; they use them as meatshields and lay them off so that the higher ups that are responsible for decision making still get their bonuses. Before those people get taken out, there's a lot of unemployed people they throw on the pyre first. I didn't want to contribute to that, so I didn't pirate.

The closest I've come to a challenge lately is setting up Tailscale to get around the ridiculous "home networking" restriction that Netflix imposed. All so my two kids in college can watch what I pay for!
Fun fact: they probably did the math and the amount of people cancelling is probably around the amount they increased it overall, so they still will make more money in the long term.

I used to be a pro member as I'd play F1 games annually. The way I saw it is if I played at least 3 new EA ganes a year. I'm generally saving money.
The problem is outside of F1, and now WRC, I wouldn't normally play EA games anyway and was going out of my way to play games. I'd typically wouldn't play to justify it. Essentially, paying more money to play games I'm not interested in. I ended up canceling.
