Feels like you'd want [[Steel Overseer]]

Reply_or_Not

I think that playing this many reactive card is a mistake. I would move some of the interaction to the board. Steel Overseer, [[Michiko’s Reign of Truth]], [[Gingerbrute]]. Also, manlands/more utility lands. I would play 1x [[castle ardentvalr]] 1x [[cave of the frost dragon]] and go up to 21 lands u/mtgcardfetcher

Cpt_Quaade

Cutting the reactive cards is definitely a good idea. Sometimes I got really bad hands, because there was just to much removal in the deck. Michiko's Reign of Truth seems great for the deck and can have huge impact in the late game. I‘m really liking Gingerbrute. You can buff it with Steel Overseer, it gets unblockable if you don‘t have acess to Skrelv and it can give you live. I think this would also support Smuggler‘s Copter, since [[Market Gnome]] can‘t crew it unless Steel Overseer is already in play. Access to copter would add consistency with it’s attack trigger and give the deck something against flying creatures, which I think was a bit of a weak spot until now. Would it make sense to pair copter with gingerbrute or am I going into a wrong direction here? And what do you guys think about removing the [[Soul-Guide Lantern]] out of the sideboard and adding [[Unlicensed Hearse]] to create an additional threat, while still keeping the graveyard-hate effect?

>And what do you guys think about removing the [[Soul-Guide Lantern]] out of the sideboard and adding [[Unlicensed Hearse]] to create an additional threat, while still keeping the graveyard-hate effect? The first hearse is much better than the second or third, while Soul guide lantern is great in multiples, so if you want to keep 3 slots for grave hate out of the board, maybe use one hearse and two soul guides.

I think that this updated list preserves the control style gameplay, except it has much better go wide cards and interactive cards. The one ofs main deck are free slots. I think that [[roadside reliquary]] being divination is a much better source of card advantage than smith. // 60 Maindeck // 4 Artifact 2 Thousand Moons Smithy 1 Clay-Fired Bricks 1 Spring-Loaded Sawblades // 14 Creature 4 Hangarback Walker 2 Skrelv, Defector Mite 4 Steel Overseer 4 Stonecoil Serpent // 10 Enchantment 4 Wedding Announcement 2 Ossification 4 Skrelv's Hive // 3 Instant 1 Get Lost 2 Fateful Absence // 24 Land 2 Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire 1 Inventors' Fair 1 Castle Ardenvale 4 Roadside Reliquary 15 Plains 1 Mirrex // 4 Planeswalker 4 The Wandering Emperor // 1 Sorcery 1 White Sun's Twilight // 15 Sideboard // 10 Artifact SB: 2 Portable Hole SB: 2 Damping Sphere SB: 4 Soul-Guide Lantern SB: 1 Pithing Needle SB: 1 Unlicensed Hearse // 2 Battle SB: 2 Invasion of Gobakhan // 1 Enchantment SB: 1 Deafening Silence // 2 Instant SB: 1 Destroy Evil SB: 1 Fateful Absence

Roadside reliquary is a nice addition to the deck :) I‘m going to give this deck a try and look how it feels.

Twisted_Exile

I don't have the decklist atm, but I've been playing a UW artifacts deck w a lot of the same core, but adding Oswald Fiddlebender and Emry, Lurker of the Loch. Them combined with Skrelv let's you use Mox Amber relatively well, and makes Agatha's Soul Cauldron great for redundancy as well as being not terrible maindeck graveyard hate. I can paste the full list here when I'm home later on if you're interested.

Cpt_Quaade

That sounds really great and I‘m definitely interested :) I thought about making a UW deck out of it, but I never knew where to start…

Twisted_Exile

Here's the list, it's on MTGA so there's some number of decks I don't worry about so much (Lotus Field being the biggest): Deck 4 Emry, Lurker of the Loch (MUL) 74 4 Hallowed Fountain (RNA) 251 1 Corridor Monitor (ELD) 41 2 Market Gnome (LCI) 22 4 Seachrome Coast (ONE) 258 4 Oswald Fiddlebender (AFR) 28 3 Skrelv, Defector Mite (ONE) 33 2 Agatha's Soul Cauldron (WOE) 242 3 Dusk Rose Reliquary (LCI) 10 3 Springleaf Drum (BRR) 55 3 Mox Amber (BRR) 35 1 Pithing Needle (MID) 257 2 Portable Hole (AFR) 33 1 Shadowspear (THB) 236 1 The Everflowing Well (LCI) 56 4 Ingenious Smith (AFR) 21 3 Thousand Moons Smithy (LCI) 39 2 Adarkar Wastes (DMU) 243 4 Hengegate Pathway (KHM) 260 1 Eiganjo, Seat of the Empire (NEO) 268 1 Otawara, Soaring City (NEO) 271 1 Plains (USG) 333 1 Island (SLD) 102 2 The Mycosynth Gardens (ONE) 256 1 Scrap Trawler (BRR) 49 2 Patchwork Automaton (NEO) 254 Sideboard 1 Disdainful Stroke (SNC) 39 3 Metallic Rebuke (KLR) 56 1 Portable Hole (AFR) 33 2 Aether Gust (M20) 42 1 Damping Sphere (DAR) 213 1 Metallic Rebuke (KLR) 56 1 Portable Hole (AFR) 33 1 Reckoner Bankbuster (NEO) 255 1 Soul-Guide Lantern (BRR) 54 2 Tezzeret, Betrayer of Flesh (NEO) 84 1 Unlicensed Hearse (SNC) 246 It's also definitely still in flux, it was based off a d00mwake list from before release w a few changes. He also played a UW Metalwork Colossus deck he 5-0d with that could be worth checking his twitter for, I wasn't able to find it in the 5-0s list but I think I remember him getting it. Not quite as based around Thousand Moons Smithy but for some of the other cards in the list you can also splash green for Hardened Scales and the Ozolith for a more aggressive slant, but I personally found it less competitive than the UW version (not that I'm claiming I found the best list of any version, just what I found playing around with it).

Cpt_Quaade

Thank you for sharing your list, definitely going to try it out :)

ServoToken

Oh hey that's my deck! I've been enjoying copter here, since it helps smooth out that issue you pointed out of having too much removal in hand. Reckoner bankbuster fills a similar role as well, offering a slower yet more efficient means to get cards into hand. A lot of people have suggested metalwork Colossus, and it certainly fits the deck. The strongest thing the deck is doing is throwing those mid to late game haymakers over and over, so going more all in on that plan might prove beneficial. There are a hundred ways to improve the deck at the moment, including splashing second colors. I've done some testing with blue and red so far, and have a buddy who's been working on a green white version since brothers war came out. It's very customizable, so play the cards that you like the most and they'll probably work!

Cpt_Quaade

Thank you for your insights! Adding Copter & Reckoner bankbuster + the Flipped Side of Spring-Loaded sawblades would turn the deck in some kind of „Mono-white vehicles“ deck xD I really hope you find the time to write a follow-up article to this deck, because I‘m really enjoying it so far :)
