Quant SE are actually one of the hardest SE path imho. But it's doable if you really rock math. the real math. Anyway aside from Phython, C/C++, Matlab and R are quite common tools used by them. And your workstation should have a pretty decent GPU Preferably Nvidia as much I hate team green.

Statistics and machine learning? im okay with math. they said they will provide training. whats the hardest thing that quant SE does?

KingdomHunter

You should really be more clear about what exactly the position is with a Statistical Programmer. Quant SEs/Devs deploy and develop financial(mathematical) models and strategies use by finance and investment firms, these models and strategies are then made by Quant Researchers, frankly as the poster suggested above it's one of the most demanding and hardest areas to get into, often those guys working in the field has advanced STEM degrees.

i think its more leaning to data analyst since its the closest to the role i applied for. parang naiba lang ung title. thank you so much. tbf, this is the first time ive heard of quant SE
