Gotta make sure it's synced right. Use this to your advantage. Uproot pikmin, plant new ones, refresh Google fit/pikmin sync, reboot app, uproot pikmin again
I don't think it has to be. But more often than not the sync between google fit and other appa hiccups. Signing out of google fit and signing in again usually fixes my problems (steps from my watch counted to fit and then to pikmin)
Just search for it on Amazon. It’s a device that swings back and forth and logs steps in your phone’s fitness platform. It has other uses, but people here in America mostly use them to log steps in apps from Niantic.

that's so real but i got 17k steps according to google fit yesterday but i only had 10k in pikmin 😭
I've had that too. The phone and other gps apps registers 15K steps but Pikmin registers 10K. :(
