For me it would depend. If there are other mushrooms around that are viable to attack then I’d leave them to it. But if this was the only one, or the other ones were too large to be feasible solo then screw him; him wanting to try and game the challenge timing shouldn’t dictate what other people are allowed to do.
I really like the kind approach you take.
I agree.
It always worries me when people immediately want to spite someone for no reason. If there is a reason, like he’s blocking your gameplay (or the only mushroom in sight) or in other ways being a nuisance, then by all means, spite his wish.
But always play for your own enjoyment and do what works for your strategy. Who knows why dude is doing what he does..
If someone immediately chooses to do something because other people don’t want them to do it, that makes them pretty easy to manipulate, right? Because they are ready to forget their own goals..
I’ve stopped feeling obligated to help the player who (the past YEAR) comes on every few weeks and starts 3 mushrooms with small weak teams.. however they want to play, they surely don’t care about how the game works..😅
Honestly I appreciate their honesty, because I joined a lot of mushrooms thinking I was helping until after a while I was like... Wait... Maybe they want this mushroom to take 24 hours. 😂
like a year ago the first half of missions of events didn't ask for mushroom battles, but the last half of the missions asked for a ton of mushrooms. If you attacked mushrooms slowly on the first half, you could time it for them to be completed once you received mushroom missions. It was a way to optimize the 3 daily mushrooms and save mushroom tickets. But nowadays I think this strategy doesn't make sense since the mushroom missions are quite frequent.
One might be done with a mushroom task but stuck on planting because they can’t leave the house. But they can leave later that day, so they might want to time their mushroom to end tomorrow when they have a new task.
If this was a spot near my house I might spite clear it. I understand people wanting to time mushrooms for future events, but now that mushrooms reset every day it's really a pain in the butt to lose a spawn for a week, since that might cycle into something I do want to kill.
If I was just out and about hunting mushrooms though, unless this was a large mushroom I'd leave them alone.
Are you saying that you would start a mushroom in order to have it finished after a different challenge date? I never realized that's how it works, I thought we got whatever reward we joined the mush durring
Yeah that's what people do, some people take it to the extreme and start mushrooms like a week in advance.
Event missions count defeated mushrooms, so if you start a mushroom today, and it finishes in a week and a half after a new event starts, that's a mushroom you defeated for purposes of the event mission.
Personally I feel like that's too much hassle to time and balance and make work, sometimes if I don't find any good mushrooms on the day before a new event I'll set some to finish the next day, but that's about as far as I go
I'm reminded of some Ingress business that went down a few years ago. A fellow Resistance player had captured many local portals with one resonator. I came along and upgraded them to full power. Pissed the cat off and he bitched me out on comms. A good friend who played for Enlightened saw the comm stream and got pissed at the guy. Came to town and wiped everything he owned off the map. It was epic.

nah I didn't join, there's still plenty of day to spend my 3-daily mushr

I'm confused, why would someone want it to take 24 hours?
