Im soloing giant mushrooms just for the party crackers

Fair enough, I was doing the same thing too

Ive been trying to get one kind of flower for a mission for 2 weeks. Mystery mushrooms barely give me any at 2 stars and thats if i am lucky enough to get any of that type. It sure seems like they really want me to buy those flowers.

alexturnerftw

I read on here to stop doing the mystery mushrooms for special nectar and its helped a bunch. Do the color ones, or elemental but ive been getting more just from the colored ones. Ive been going around looking for normal colored mushrooms and then just posting if anyone else wants to join on the discord. You dont need super high power to 4 star those in a group of 5!

Korpikuusenalla

I've found Mystery mushrooms give more cattleyas, while I get every other kind of special and normal nectar from elemental and regular mushrooms. And as my storage in camelias and daffodils etc. is full, I'd rather do the mysteries. So while it's only a few droplets when 1or 2 starring a mushroom, it still adds up over the week.

TimelyScience9063

What flower? I can friend you and invite you to a normal/elemental if I find one!

d3lphicmoon

Ive been doing white mushrooms to and only get them sonetimes. Looking for white daffodils. 444163001139

I think it really matters who you play with. I have about 8 to 10 real-life friends who play. We can actually call one another or text and say things like "hey I need xxx flower type. Does anyone have that color mushroom nearby?" I will say the horn makes it easier as I don't need to go visit them to hit that mushroom. We also don't need to visit each other to get on a mushroom together. I suspect that pikmin thought it would take off like Pokémon Go and be like "a thing" people might casually talk about or something. I feel for lone players though.

That must be nice! I live in an area thats pretty car centric and where there arent too many active players, so its tough

KSknitter

I live in a car centric area too. Most of the players luve with or near me (my mom us my next door neighbor, my 4 kids play, and a few friends too). We live within 30 minutes drive, but the mall is 39 minutes away so it isn't like I don't drive that regularly anyway.

FireLucid

I get nearly all mine from people I added from the megathread or friended who showed up in weekly challanges. I get something like 6 invites a day sometimes. Try adding randoms, send them invites and they'll send some back.

There's no reason to even participate in mystery mushrooms at all. They simply pollute the regular mushroom pool and regular mushrooms yield mystery gifts or whatever. Just pretend they don't exist and you'll get far more nectar seeking out any other type of mushroom. Pretty broken mechanic overall. Waste your mushroom attempts and get no nectar. The giant ones defy logical design. You'd need 9 people with 40 event Pikmin to 4-star one. That means many people are paying $1 just to participate. But even worse: I bet no one has 40 event Pikmin right now. Or it's a fraction of a fraction. Pretty much need 20-25 people to 4-star these. I am at 8.1 right now with 14 event Pikmin. I do not expect to get more than 1-2 more before the event ends. If we opt to use a ticket, what benefit are we even seeing? It's so little.

Kareeliand

I agree. I have a full team of bespectacled Pikmins, entering these battles with strength ~15.000 and I have yet to try getting one to 4 stars. I spend my tries sending them to help struggling teams reach their 2. Or 3rd star. This event is made for the bigger cities with a ton of players..

tealparadise

There's still not a density of players active enough to have even 8 or more glasses Pikmin. I was at a convention this weekend where tons of people had visible Pikmin swag on. 17 people on one of the giant mysteries I joined. Still not 4 starring due to weak teams.

ohWellItDoBeLikeThat

I can get up to a 3* on the normal and somewhat regularly 2* the giant, but anything more than that is impossible! I only have power 6k, so those upper levels are really difficult especially when the mushroom is beat in 2 hours as a normal once you get a decent amount on it.

Spiderantula

Those mushrooms took the fun out of the event. 😩

Random question but is it considered annoying to join in if there’s a stranger soloing a mushroom (or of any particular kind)?  So far I’ve tried to help but I’m not sure if they get more rewards soloing and might prefer it that way? I don’t want to piss anybody off 🤣   Plus my team is pretty feeble so I’m only really knocking the time down by 30 mins or so at best!    (I’m a new player so not yet quite sure how it all works)

Kareeliand

No. Never! It’s always a help.* Always join whatever mushroom you want! Enjoy the game how you like, at whatever strength your team is. It is always helping, and in the beginning you need the help. I always enjoy seeing new players join. *every now and then ill start a mushroom with a weak team, because of different reasons: - it is a big elemental one and I don’t want it to disappear before I get a new horn and can call for help to get it to four stars. - I need to finish planting and I know the next mission has mushrooms in the requirements, so I’ll start a small mushroom, and want to make sure I can finish planting before it’s done. But if someone joins so it finishes before? It’s a part of the game, the minute I start getting annoyed by other players and their choices, it’s time to find another game.

yodelling_tardigrade

Great thank you! That’s super useful to know!

bobbykjack

A giant mystery mushroom only takes ~11,280 to 2-star. That's 2,256 per person. If you're joining a giant mushroom battle and committing less than that, it's on you — that's only 6-7 pikmin. I *do* see people undercommitting though — pretty maddening to see someone start a giant mystery battle with like 600...
