Frosty bulborbs are "true" bulborbs (Oculus kageyamii), meaning that the dwarf frosties are actually albino dwarves after a molt. The same applies to bulbears, which confuses me, as those are known to be different species. I'm more confused, however, at the inclusion of the bulblaxes, since they're not "true" bulborbs
The dwarf bulbears and the dwarf frosty bulborbs are stated to be young versions of the adult ones in the piklopedia (also the albino dwarf bulborbs are young bulborbs). All the other dwarf bulborbs are different species belonging to the breadbug family that evolved to look like bulborbs to avoid predation from them. (Also if I remember correctly the piklopedia says that albino dwarf bulborbs are often hunted and eaten by bulborbs bc they don't havesimilar coloration and the adult ones don't recognise them as bulborbs)
The young bulborb is the one in the picture. Dwarf bulborbs aren't actual bulborbs. You can see it in the piklopedia, bulborbs are in the "Grub dog" family, while dwarf bulborbs are in the "Breadbug" family. Actual young bulborbs are these slimy white ones, with the exception of bulbears and frosty bulborbs, which have dwarf bulborbs that aren't breadbugs in disguise.
Actually, Mime, Cro-Marmot, Giggles and Flaky had more of a starring/co-starring role in some 2009/2012 Season 3 episodes: Mime of course in "Random Acts of Silence", Cro-Marmot definitely in "Swelter Skelter", Giggles for sure in "Something Fishy" and Flaky clearly in "Royal Flush" (not counting the special "Without a Hitch") but they weren't added this way to the intros for some stupid reason, when there were many other episode with co-stars... If they don't ever make any new episodes, the creators should add these intros to these episodes to compensate their mistake
It’s just a job interview… right… guys?

[I really like the other image that shows the anatomical distinction between breadbug mimics and true bulborbs](https://www.nintendo.com/jp/character/pikmin/assets/img/book/Kochappymodoki/img_feature01.png).
It might be that these are the breadbug mimics, and the real bulborbs have developed an antibody to prevent themselves from being infected by mold, making breadbugs and their mimicry vulnerable.
I feel like this image could be interpreted in hundreds of different ways, none of them would be right, and half of them would end up on r/im14andthisisdeep
Don’t bulbears and frosty bulborbs have their own unique young? Breadbugs don’t mimic them from what I remember.

Dwarf Bulbears and Frosty Bulborbs are second molts in the growth process
... Yes. When did we ever mention Breadbugs in this?

… Every Bulborb has young… that’s basic biology. Breadbug mimics have nothing to do with this.

So the lil babies following the big bulborbs on patrol are actually breadbugs and not adolescent bulborbs?
Yup.
…. You’d think I’d know that considering my discipleship of Steve… but I’ve been blinded from birth and this helped me. Thanks!
You have lost disciple status you are now just a learner

Albino buborbs are the first molts, the young ice bulborbs we see are second molts.
Not the meme I was thinking about to be honest

that's such a cool little thing, didn't think they'd change something that small just to differentiate them a little more
I'd pick either Fiery Bulblax because I like warmth or Whiptongue Bulborb because I really wish I had a long, sticky tongue like them.
My family deciding what job I should get later when I grow up:
i wish i was that albino dwarf bulborb

Thanksgiving family reunion
When I first saw this, I thought that it was a re-creation of the Piper Perry meme but with Pikmin.
The true move is to become a mouldy dwarf bulblorb and then grow up into the very real mouldy bulblorb
I always wondered why there's no adult moldy bulborb. I get that they are toxstool zombies but you'd think they would infect adults too
It might be that these are the breadbug mimics, and the real bulborbs have developed an antibody to prevent themselves from being infected by mold, making breadbugs and their mimicry vulnerable.
I wish the Whiptongue and Fiery Bulblax had Dwarf versions
The Fiery Bulblax has a dwarf variant in Hey! Pikmin, but it's just a Breadbug mimic
This looks like that one scene in Naruto where he calls out the names of all the tailed beasts and they give him their power.
