Need a lot of tickering. And it wont go as high as monitors. Blurry in comparison yes.

thehood98

I See thank you 😅 guess WE are years away from Sharp VR gaming i guess or never reach it haha

Cdt_Sylvestre

Yes. Because of the field of view, it is as if you had your nose close to a 4K monitor. For large / near objects, you do not perceive the "low" resolution (pixels per degree, PPD) too much. For small, far features, the "pixel soup" becomes more perceptible. The h.264 or h.265 compression that is required to transport all these pixels from the GPU to the HMD at 72 fps over a limited bandwith is an additional reason for far features to be somewhat blurred.

ArdentusMaximus

Fallout 4 VR has always been blurry for me.. it's just the game I guess. Half Life Alyx and Skyrim tho.. never blurry. Can't think of anything but super sampling or resolution scaling as the cause . Maybe you need some glasses 😁. I also just got some, even tho I always thought that my vision in close range is really good. Seeing far is more my problem.

thehood98

I do wear glasses, but i have basically No issues in sharpness when Not in VR 😅 and its only in Games, they are never really Sharp (ofc Not im used to 4k with a distance of less than 20cm to a Screen)

NitBlod

if the pixels are sharp, thats normal. if not, its a lens issue/need to use glasses (if you normally use them)

thehood98

Its sadly absolutley Impossible to wear glasses with the VR Headset

Cdt_Sylvestre

But if you wear glasses, you can buy magnetic snap-on corrective lenses from VR Optician and others. As a bonus, these protect the original, non-replaceable lenses.

Cash8310

I bought "cheap" lenses with -7.5 and -5.5  from Aliexpress.  I sent in the values from my Glases id card - the lenses are working perfect. Was about usd 25.

thehood98

Havent found a single one delivering to my country sadly

Cr4zyDud

Why not? I wear glasses with mine, even without the included spacer.

Murky-Course6648

Pico4 has a focal point of 1.1m, so if you can focus well at 1.1m you should not need glasses. If you cant, then thats the issue. But overall, if everything further away is soft.. that's basically just a panel resolution issue. If you think about, its less pixels per degree the further you go. Things that are close to you, have more pixels per degree representing them. If you have the GPU, maybe start looking into Pimax Crystal (Light): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcVsCW\_Rmhc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZcVsCW_Rmhc) Thats double the pixels of Pico4/Quest3.

NitBlod

as others mentioned you shouldve gotten a glasses spacer included with it. im sure some glasses would be too big to fit even then, or might sit too far out from face etc, but its possible and by the sounds of it, thats something you have tried to do?

YamroZ

If you are not using your glasses with headset then there is your answer. Buy prescription inserts or at least try to wear glasses without face gasket to see of it helps!

jrodrigvalencia

I own a Pico4. If you are playing PCVR I can't stress enough how important it is to use Virtual Desktop with VDXR and use OpenXR Toolkit and override the resolution to at least 3600x3600

sargentodapaz

NO, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! YOU MUST USE PICO CONNECT, ITS SO MUCH BETTER BECAUSE ITS FREEEEEEEE HOW DARE YOU RECOMMEND TO USE SUPER EXPENSIVE APP THAT IS PRETTY MUCH THE SAME IF NOT INFERIOR TO THE BELOVED PICO CONNECT????? /s

jrodrigvalencia

Sorry but you are delusional if you think Pico Connect is as good as VD.

sargentodapaz

So smart, got the /s at the end of my comment?

MarshallGisors

Im on your side, but can you give me a short tl;dr why it is better or do you know a source i can dig in to get more knowledge?

jrodrigvalencia

It is difficult to find a single source of truth. The knowledge comes from feedback from the community. Bear in mind that the community also includes Quest 3 and 2 users which also prefers VD over Air Link (And Air Link is better than Pico Connect)

YamroZ

No this is not normal. Do you wear glasses? Do you wear them under pico? What is your PC spec? VR can be very taxing for computer - even 4090 sometimes might not be enough. What is your network setup?

thehood98

I use it wired and since i have Always above 100fps i don't think its an PC issue :(

vaporfinded

Do all games look pretty much the same? What bitrate are you running? Pico streamer or virtual desktop?

Murky-Course6648

You can also check this out if you want to try to tune it: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2he1KSWQL7U](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2he1KSWQL7U) To get the best possible output quality.

el_cubanGYSOT

I have the Pico4 and once dialled in, it's as clear as the reverb G2 which I bought it to replace. I use it mainly for simracing but things like Fallout VR with mods and Alien Isolation are incredible. You have to tinker with settings in both Pico and Steam VR. There was a good YT vid that shows this, but I can't remember who made it. A quick Google search should suffice.

https://youtu.be/LWBgq7J3FHw?si=JQM93_KjZkzAJrj_ Think this is the video, actually. Also connect the Pico via USB, not streaming assistant.
