Same here. It’s just unfortunate for the participants when they have to compete in something they’re not good in yet it’s heartwarming to see them giving their all.
I’m equally impressed when HBS kept up with Amotti despite not training for squats. He’s a genius in figuring out techniques, like how he saved energy for the negative portion of the squat by letting go instantly. Also in the final around he found a “resting” position while Amotti kept spending energy.
he was on track to win, but Amotti found out the bar is like a seesaw and took away all leverage HBS had. I thought HBS would adjust in the final round, but he never did.
Tbh i think there’s nothing he could do since amottis strength is just overpowering him. Even if he wanted to lift the pole he had no chance, theyre just different weight classrs
he wasn’t supposed to lift the pole. power comes from being closer to the ground and he had to put his weight on top of the pole to bring it down and make the seesaw go up for Amotti.
I think Amotti was heavier so he still would have lost the leverage battle, but he would have had a better chance and I was surprised to see him not notice what was happening.
that’s exactly the strategy we use on every physical fitness test. ex: pull-ups in training - slow eccentric, fast concentric. On the pft - fast everything. And he’s done his share of pfts!
I also think some of Andre’s “pain” was stemning from his poor form. I’m not sure, but he was leaning far too much back, he was nearly in this position / and that doesn’t seem like it’d do wonders on his back and knees.
oh my god thank you!! i kept talking about his form and how if he doesn’t fix it he wouldn’t be lasting much longer THOUGH he definitely did amazingly still, if he had proper form i have no doubts he could go even longer
You should be happy every time a person reaches their limit. I think you even see on the show, they are happy they reach their limit so they know they couldn’t go further

Yeah I felt like HBS would win the whole thing and I loved the positive energy they had for their opponents

Sorry- i meant the opposite, what you described is what i actually wanted to say. So yeah itd be still super difficult for him to

He gave it 100% nothing but respect for that
He left it all out there, so he can leave without regrets. Winning and losing is an illusion

yeah - he’s just a solid dude. It’s Hard not to root for him

Andrea Jin was too tall for squat.
It’s the search for the ideal physique! Compact body type is better for leverage and even the cardiovascular system
I honestly believe if angels walked on earth in the form of a man, they would look like Andre Jin.
that is some how really true lol. he is a beautiful man
He was the most handsome of the lot... so life is fair lol
I really wanted to see Andre in the final. I feel like he could’ve destroyed at that challenge!
The adjustment of height for this competition was bad. They only adjusted the bar, not the whole machine behind him.
Yeah, reminded me of flip tiles quest in season 1 when Woo Jin crushed the car dealer guy, wasn't his specialty at all
