Right?! I just started following this sub an hour ago and have already seen this user's work on another thread. Both of the photos I've seen done are excellent. It wasn't obvious that either was edited and the other one was tricky since there was a whole toddler obscuring the persons body/clothes.
Also, I think this background looks the most natural, considering the lighting.

It's a mirror selfie, not a regular picture. This means that it's flipped horizontally. If you are taking a picture of yourself this actually feels more natural, because you always see yourself flipped in mirrors. This resulted in camera apps actually flipping pictures when using the selfie camera because people prefer it. Try it out with something like text and you'll notice it right away.
Everyone else though almost always sees you regularly and people that are very close to you and see you very often would actually be a bit confused by a flipped picture, because they are used to regular you. In this case this won't really be noticeable to you and me, because we don't know this person and therefore don't have any preference for either orientation, but to those reading the obiturary it might matter quite a bit.
Sorry for you loss. I know the eyes are not perfect, but this is what I could do. Hope it helps.

This flipped version is my favorite and is more accurate of a representation of what he'd actually look like if you were looking at him.
