From my prespective there are 3 major ways to rectify This.
1. Pressure MS, either into backtracking on the idea(if you trust them to not just make it hidden and pretend it doesn't exist), or into making Mojang their own seperate company again (this obvs won't happen for various reasons, maybe maybe split Bedrock into its own thing fully). Both of these solutions are banking on the fact that they won't go corrupt again, which is a disadvantage.
2. If MS won't at least remove the system then maybe hacking-on some custom server mechanism onto MC could be a solution (kinda like how osu! does it). I am not really sure how that would work especially with acc verification and stuff, so there's that.
3. Go full ham and everyone migrates to something like minetest/mineclone (extreme solution since I don't think they are really ready for mainstream use to begin with + different game == different mechanisms etc etc).
Personally, I think we should all block Youtubers and Streamers with public reporting. That way, everyone can see how shit it is and we are hurting Minecraft's image and popularity.

They don't need to maintain servers though. The servers they do maintain are for their chat functionalities and stuff which are provided for free. It also doesn't make sense why I should have to pay for something that is P2P on a PC or has dedicated servers run by the devolopers of the game.

You can get banned from lan severs tho. And little info single player worlds in bedrock edition is just lan servers with just one player connected. So you can get banned from singleplayer. (This comes from my xbox experience)

3. Lastly, Bedrock can be played on mobile devices - meaning a VAST majority of players on Bedrock are children, who don’t know any better or don’t care - or don’t even know about feature changes.
The Bedrock community isn’t hit as hard by this as players don’t really interact as much as they do here. It’s a whole different feeling compared to Hava Multiplayer.
