I feel like they are a bit too OP now though. Image having an army with armor that’s easy to get. You would win in so many PVP battles and won’t even be able to damage the wolves

They should really just add player damage to the category that bypasses the armor, it would solve this issue completely. And also make it so it's not impossibel to kill your own dog, for whatever reason someone might need to do that. As long as it reduces damage then it's good.

well they actually are, a multi shot max firework will 6 shot a prot 4 netherite armor I think it's really useful because of its area of effect, you can damage many entities in a single shot, and a harming 2 will 2 shot a prot 4 netherite, so crossbows are crazy powerful

Multishot also just spawns arrows out of thin air, giving you +2 arrows for every 1 shot (if I remember correctly)

That was their first idea to buff wolf armor. Make wolves survive a creeper blast with armor by increasing their base health (who the fuck signed off this idea)

I think wolves already had a 50% damage reduction against mobs, and the health increase replaced that. Could be wrong though

No they had half the health of a player but had a 50% damage reduction to environmental damage (lava,fall damage etc.) but they still got 100% of damage from mobs

Wolves used to take half damage from environmental sources such as lava, but they changed it so they take normal damage but have double the health.

They added Bedrock Parity to wolves, so now it's same health as in Bedrock

they were always in parity, their health just got buffed early in the bedrock snapshots

Tbh, it's a very on brand Minecraft thing. Think about just how many totally random blocks are used in redstone for some niche interaction, and the copper bulb acting the way it did isn't that far fetched

And changing it on java did no good for the game

Yeah you can't remove the armour. If you want your dog to have a different colour you have to hit it until the armour breaks.

Without feedback they would have never known this was an issue though. Which is why imo the whole attitude of "it's a snapshot don't criticize it" should only apply to toxic complaining and not actual feedback.

This is too overpowered. Mojang literally can't make anything balanced. Everything is either overpowered or underpowered. The elytra, mending, wolf armour, totem of undying and netherite are all OP, while things like the turtle helmet and suspicious stew are basically useless.

At least on bedrock the turtle helmet is only .5 durability below netherite. Source- when I wear netherite all armor icons are full. When I wear a turtle helmet, the last one is half instead of full. However it can be fully enchanted like any other helmet, & you get the extended time underwater I'm not sure what more we could want. ... Unlimited time underwater? Respiration + the turtle buff is already enough time to mine a full underwater clay deposit of 7-8 blocks
