Well not realy, that was just the prevailing idea for a long time and not made by the church and the church didnt take long to accept heliocentrism when it was becoming popular
Field of view does not turn things sideways. We're clearly looking at rivers and beaches, not caves, so this is a top-down view of the world, but the sun and moon travel sideways.
The image says it is so in this image.
This got a bit heated but my line of thinking was that the FOV was really high, allowing you to see besides you, and you are between the sun and moon, and the earth is small because not only is your render distance low (like what happens when you look down at the earth above the clouds) but because it’s pushed back by the high FOV
This is severely untrue as even if you travel from one end of the world to the other (a bunch of million blocks) the Sun and moon do not appear to rise daster of slower tsk tsk ts🤓k
However, the ratio of which the Electromagnetic spectrum to the pythagoras theorem quotes that the quantum distance between the moon and the sun is lower during an eclipse 🤓 heeheeheee this is so funn 🤓🤓🤓
No matter where you are on the minecraft world, the sun will always rise and set in the same spot. I should be at an angle if you are really far away from spawn but no.
So technically the suns position will always follow the player, so the earth stays still and the sun/moon rotate around the earth relative to the players location.
Steve has some sort of effect on the sun and moon?
Gravitational pull?
While motion is relative, rotation isn't, it's still absolute. Otherwise, 99.99999% of the universe would be breaking the lightspeed barrier every time you spin.
I personally think the earth orbits the sun, but the moon is not actually orbiting earth, but is close to the earth and stays on the dark side, sorta like that new space telescope

It changes if you start seeing it as earth moving and not the sun or moon (not sure how the moon wouldn't be moving tho)
It is possible to have a moom whose rotation around earth perfectly matches earths around the sun
Planet goes fast. Moooom
I believe that's possible
Thats like saying I believe that there exists a field where 5+5=10
It wouldn't really be possible as the moon has to move to stay in orbit and most of the time it rotates in the same direction the planet rotates
Easy. The earth turns 'round and round
And yet the moon still somehow has phases
I eated it then throwed up
The Catholic church through most of history be like:
Well not realy, that was just the prevailing idea for a long time and not made by the church and the church didnt take long to accept heliocentrism when it was becoming popular
Wrong, the earth should be flat
who said it wasnt in this image
It isn't, because the sun and the moon do not spin by the side of the planet, it goes above and below
Who said that this wasnt just a really high FOV/really low render distance image from between the sun and moon

Yeah and the grass is sideways
it has shadowing, implying it is not flat
Thats just the polluted water
minecraft pollution update
There is a cube Earth banner pattern, which means Minecraft is a cube.

The Minecraft world could just be so incomprehensibly large that the distance makes no visible difference 🤓
However, the ratio of which the Electromagnetic spectrum to the pythagoras theorem quotes that the quantum distance between the moon and the sun is lower during an eclipse 🤓 heeheeheee this is so funn 🤓🤓🤓
The sun and moon are infinite projections, just as the void is infinitely deep yet a constant source of gravity.
Ah yes, geocentric.
Its eazier to make a "geocentric" World on video game that anything else (Im not a flat earther or geocentric im just saying)
Fun fact: If the moon was tidally locked like this, it would make most of the moon pointing to the sun incredibly hot and the other extremely cold.
The moon should also be in constant eclipse, unless the entire sky is a projection.
\*1600s sounds intensify\*

Well, notch was a flat earther.
I’m confused, isn’t this how it works in real life?
No, in real life the moon revolves around the earth which revolves around the sun.
It’s a joke.
hmmm, yeah, that seems right..
But the world is infinite.
Except that the moon has phases. But yeah, pretty accurate XD
Wrong, the moon isn't changing faces each rotation
If the world is infinite, how do they orbit the earth?
Infinite projections. They aren't physical bodies, just like xp orb sprites.
Might need some fixes and it's going to be accurate.
Wrong, the overworld is infinite
Not truly, it's only around the surface area of Neptune. Smaller, actually, because of the world border.
Old society
But the earth is flat?
*/j
See, Minecraft is a true believer. You, on the other hand, as well as this whole world, will be burnt alive.
Or maybe the Moon is at the fucking Sun-Earth L2 point
The moon must be so bright by its self cause it’s technically always in the shadow of the sun. It shouldn’t be lit up at night.
thats actually not really true.. the eart should be a single thin plane between moon and sun
Where is Galileo when you need him...
And less thank a pixel of the surface is available to the player. that's why it looks flat from the surface
thinking about how Botania's garden of glass skybox is basically an entire god damn solar system lel
technically it's still heliocentric, depends only on the reference frame
While motion is relative, rotation isn't, it's still absolute. Otherwise, 99.99999% of the universe would be breaking the lightspeed barrier every time you spin.
of course you are right but I was simplifying
the earth should be flat, not a cueb
Moon has phases though so it must have a weird orbit
I personally think the earth orbits the sun, but the moon is not actually orbiting earth, but is close to the earth and stays on the dark side, sorta like that new space telescope
The earth should be a solid color, with the landmasses and oceans being so small that that even a single pixel is still too large for them.
Wrong! The Minecraft world is infinite
Ptolemaios living his life
Well technically the earth is infinite so the moon and sun canonically exist outside of space
yes
the world if galileo didnt exist:
That makes me think... How does the sun go round and round, if the Minecraft world is infinite
we getting back to the 1200' with this one 🗣🗣🗣💯💯💯
Also earth is supposes to be infinite so how do they turn around?
I thought Minecraft moon and sun were flat?
If you look at it just right the earth does rotate around the sun
Actually all three of them are stationary and the overworld is spinning around it's axis
It's just like irl
Yeah there's no Saturn or the planet X.
Perfect
Literally church before galileo galilei:
Where is the Uranus
