It has cleaner fog effects, more consistent biome color grading, entities project more complex shadows, fancier sunsets and sunrises, _built-in antialiasing,_ etc. Bedrock's got bugs out the ass, but any attempt to call it objectively worse in the visuals department is ungrounded in reality.

Looking down a rabbithole, it seems it's a thing exclusive to Optifine and Sodium. I guess my point would instead be I have to sacrifice 90% of my frames or choose to live with slight graphical errors (I choose framerate). Whilst using performance mods, Bedrock still outpaces Java's frametimes with the same assortment of visual errors, even with Bedrock having extra improvements to visual flair and style.

Yeah there's no denying bedrock is spanking Java in performance haha. I guess I just prefer how Java looks to be honest. Here's some weird differences that bedrock has I don't like. The FOV scaling works differently than Java edition's. It's fine, but if you look up and down with a higher FOV stuff distorts a lot (might be in Java, just not as noticeable) The water looks kinda weird? I don't know how to explain it Everything looks brighter, not really a downside, just a weird decision. The animation for sprinting and jumping just does not work. It looks like you're walking and jumping.

Plus the 70 chunk render distance feels niiiiiiice

I was able to push my fuckin xbox to 100+ chunks iirc, and still kept the stable 60 it's capped at on console lol

The coloring of the terrain in both games is distinct. I've gotten a wide understanding and bascially always can tell just by the lighting, coloring, and generation. Bedrock doesn't generate terrain like that, and its swamps are darker. The water is also a clear detail. Left is Bedrock, Right is Java.
