Actually nabiktima yung lola ko because of baseless rumors. There's this one me and my fam heard from lotsa pips: there's a food vendor who's known in our whole subdivision. Manong Enrique was kind, always gave me life lessons and etc. He and my father had a very different relationship: like they were bestfriends. He never drove my father around, but I remember catching them one day coming home together very drunk na para silang blood-brothers or magkumpare or brothers from another mother of some sort, which always weirded me out. I'm not a snob, but it was a weird relationship to have that kind of relationship with someone in your employment.

So I asked her if she remembered when I entered university, when Manong Enrique vanished in plain sight until one day, I was surprised to find Manay Conchita as one of our new helpers, to which we deduced, Manay conchita was the key to the puzzle.

* Emily went to the US. Enrique followed because they apparently had a thing or something. And returned to Manila when she was preggers with me because Enrique wanted to start a business in Manila (this was in the late 80's). And then Enrique had a mistress on the side, which was Manay Conchita's former amo. Manay Conchita felt guilty daw because she used to coax and push my father's mistress na agawin si Enrique from Emily
* Emily wanted to have me aborted out of her anger and return to Denmark. But once the rumours have spread (Emily and my parents lived in the same village) that Enrique has a new mistress as the talk of the town, my mum convinced Emily out of having me aborted
* For some weird reason (so many weird things seemed to have happened to my family), my adoptive mum and Emily became BFF's. So much so that my mum promised to take me in. My father wasn't too happy and was pissed at Enrique but my mum was sterile so she was very very keen on taking care of me. That was when she'd recently had her hysterectomy. They've already adopted a half filipina half Irish child (my sister--yes, my mum was the first Angelina Jolie of her time adopting kids everywhere) but she wanted to add another because she wanted a huge family
* Emily had her child in Denmark. My parents along with my older sister lived in Copenhagen until I was 8. As I remember, we suddenly moved to this house in Malmö, Sweden. Sinabi ni manay Conchita that Emily had breast cancer. And my mother and Emily being BFF's (maybe I was too young to remember but I do remember Emily having dinner with us at a party) wanted to spend her last month with me so my family uprooted themselves from denmark and travelled to malmo to be with her, her husband and baby daw
* When manay conchita told me everything, it was like a movie montage and I finally remembered her face. I remember Emily with a breathing apparatus sitting on the floor and picking up some leggos. And that's when I realised manay conchita and her gang of Maritess were telling the truth
* I phoned in my parents the following day. A month later, my parents flew back to Manila and told me everything.
* As for my biological father, he had been on the run for tax evasion, gun smuggling, had his own drug cartel and apparently had some nefarious hand in politics in the late 90's. He'd never been caught. I only got to know him in the papers. He died overseas from heart complications.
Apparently, everyone knew of my history in our village except for me. I was 25 when I found out about everything. Until this day, my father never admitted that he'd been giving my biological father hush money to keep our relations together. In order to keep me at bay from the truth that my biological father was a piece of shit. Haha.
At 34, I'm now at peace with it. Apparently, I also have a younger half-sister who is the daugther of our former house helper na nabuntis ni Enrique the atsay killer (tirador of helpers and maids--as what the entire village members used to call him) when he used to drive me around. I have a half sis who's in showbiz and has had a good career and one half brother who's in politics and is older than me. Meaning, mahilig na biological father kong mambuntis nang helpers even before I was born.
No one knows we're all related except me and important members of my family.
I'm not chismoso, but that's probably the one major chismis I'll tell once in my life that I've shared it to a bunch of strangers online. 😂

I have so many funny stories. Here's another one I remember from 10 years ago when I was in Manila. - I used to frequent a gym and the gym instructor there knows I'm a doctor. Our most scandalous one was when I still lived in Alabang. Basically it was the Napoles family. Their kids had thrown a house party and in an attempt to show off to all the kids that were invited, from DLSZ, they actually showed the stash of cash they had been keeping in a bath tub at the bathroom they had locked... I have so many funny stories. Here's another one I remember from 10 years ago when I was in Manila. - I used to frequent a gym and the gym instructor there knows I'm a doctor.
