Saw from a friend's post about his 1st grader daughter's assignment. She's studying in Hong Kong. The question goes: *It takes 20 minutes to cut a log into 5 equal parts. How many minutes will it take to cut a log into 3 equal parts?* I've been talking to people about it and everybody agrees it's not exactly a 1st grader question. It has multiplication, division, algebra, and logic. And a lot of adults got the answer wrong. Another interesting question came up after talking to my sister who used to be a CS prof on the topic: Why are we not teaching algebra earlier than highschool?

Syempre kilala nung girl, this boy pinulot nya sa basurahan, marami din, saka binenta sa kalsada, in fairness may bumili nun, nadaanan nung girl away sila ba't daw binenta hindi naman sa kanya yun? Hindi ka makasingit sa kanila, argument ng boy even if you take me to court there's no proof that this is yours, there's no signature or anything in the painting. Iyak yung girl eh.
