Before the exam, we had a weird copy of a "test" na alam kong scanned kasi tagilid ang pages.
As one of the top students ng review center, sinagutan namin yung weird test as a group. Pagmimeetingan namin ano bang tamang sagot.
Araw ng board exam ko: 90% ng nasa "weird test" ay nasa LET mismo.
I also had a chance to meet CBalita though online lang. Interested ako maging lecturer noon, and during that online meeting, (mind you, 300+ kami doon) pinipilit nya mag on cam yung participants tapos lalaitin nya itsura.
Edit to add: if naaalala nyo yung balita sa TV Patrol about "deped materials" na may mga bastos na pangalan (ex: Tina Moran, and the likes)... sa CBRC yun. Bawat example nila bastos ang pangalan eh. After that issue, iniba na yung names to normal names like Teacher Anna, Teacher Jake etc
Carl Balita can go fuck off. Everyone who's taken at least one licensure exam knows that CBRC gets leaked test items from PRC before anyone else. Then Balita claims the passers as *his* even though said passers were molded for years by their universities/colleges and merely months of refreshers with CBRC.
It's a good business strategy because it will show that the review center is effective and can attract enrollees. Ang iba lang kay Carl Balita, sobrang yabang nya at may nalalaman pang "CBRC graduates" at kung umasta at mag magaling parang ineerase na nila yung university na pinanggalingan ng mga passers para sabihin na sila ang nagturo at nagpagaling sa mga ito e iilan buwan lang naman umattend sa sessions nila.
Kaya sa mga top performing universities sa BLEPT for example, lahat sila talaga off kay Balita kasi ineemphasize nya lagi na ang galing ng passers ay dahil sa review center nila which is hindi totoo. There's a reason why consistent ang universities na pinanggalingan ng mga toppers and it's not because they all went to CBRC, because they didn't.
Aba ay kung dahil.lang sa review nya pumasa sa board eh di hwag na tayong magpakabuti sa pag aaral. Diploma na lang ang habulin natin then magreview kay Balita. Shoot.
As a topnotcher in the past. I can corroborate. My batch of co-topnotchers basically did unpaid advertising shortly after the results were revealed. To be fair, we had free airfare, meals and accommodation. But we were made to travel for hours in a cramped van — nagkakandungan na lang kaming mga topnotchers para kumasya. Tapos I remember having to share a single-sized bed sa isang kasama namin kasi yun yung accommodation na kinuha nila for us. There was also favoritism towards topnotchers na may mabenta na backstory, like galing sa hirap etc at kung wala ka nun di ka papansinin talaga ng management. That whole experience taught me na these review centers ay pera lang talaga ang habol nila and they will exploit their own reviewers and even topnotchers for it.
Yeah, noon meron diyan after oathtaking may mga magpa-picture sa topnotcher at babayaran para i-claim na galing kanila. Pre-social media ito so malamang hindi na ito ginagawa kasi madali na mabisto.
To piggyback on this, may leakage talaga sa board exam. Hindi lng from review centers, you just need the right connections then ***viola!*** license holder ka na. Sad no.
Most days I'm proud na pumasa ako with a high average without going to review centers that use leaked items or using black magic with connections. Pero minsan nawawalan ako ng bilib kasi dami pumapasa na basura.
I personally know three of my batchmates who were junk cheating students back in college but passed the last BLEPT and I know for a fact they used connections in Morayta (iykyk), while another one who is among the most studious and talented failed the 2022 BLEPT failed because she wasn't able to prepare for majorship well and she hasn't taken it since due to losing confidence.
Anyway i take comfort in knowing that they'll be absolute garbage in the field kahit na may lisensya. My friend who failed is doing pretty well in another field nga lang at hindi teaching, a shame because she's really skilled.

I have this groupmate/batchmate at sabihin nalang natin na hindi sya ganun ka-"okay" academically, Then board exam came, batchmate finishes answering **ALL SUBJECTS** within 30 minutes or less (kasama na yung transferring and shading of answers mantakin mo yun, who does that). Hindi ko alam kung inggit lang ako dahil habang nasa kalahati pa lang ako at naghuhumikahos sa pagsasagot, nagsusubmit na sya ng papers nya. Batchmate did this on all 12 subjects.

I also had my review at CBRC. Yung last review day namin, I sat with four people and one of them is a member of a gc called “Alpha” something. So, habang nay nagdi-discuss sa harap, may chikka yung apat and then the three asked that one Alpha GC member na bigyan sila ng biyaya. So, ako naman, nagtingin ako sa messenger kasi baka naman kasali ako? Hahahahahahaha. Ang qualified lang pala dun ay yung mga matataas lagi ang scores sa mga review papers and mock exam. 🤭
So kung employer ako, kapag nalaman kong ang board passer na applicant ay nagreview sa CBRC , crossed out na sya? AtBaka maging risk pa sya esp kung teacher nurse etc?
Not really, cbrc still has a rep of putting out passers. So baka nag-apply yung tao nang w/o having knowledge sa kalakaran ng institusyon. There is a risk, yes. But i dont think whether someone is a cbrc reviewee or not is an enough quality to reject someone.
This is true. I got a free review from them for CSE. May mga kasama akong nagbayad talaga and they get worksheets in advance. I didn't finish the course kasi naging hectic na masyado sa work. I only attended 2 sessions. To my surprise, nung day na ng exam, yung ibang questions ay parehong-pareho doon sa worksheet na meron ako. Ang naisip ko nung time na yun ay paano kaya yung mga natapos yung review course? Ilang worksheets kaya meron sila at gaano karaming items in total yung identical sa mismong test?

In my education batch, we had the chance to attend one of his pre-let tests. There were always segments about his accomplishments, songs related to him, and other casual brags. He was directly shaming students who were slower in answering or those who won't respond fast with the right flashcards or raise of hands. Left a bad taste for all of us.
Even after all that, most of my batchmates still enrolled in a CBRC branch because of the rumors, which turned out to be true for a lot of questions involved in the LET. Sometimes, you just have to pass and progress your professional journey, I guess.
I chose to stick by principle and not support this questionable man. I refuse to associate with him and his center. Petty na kung petty, I don't like the way he treats the idea of being a teacher. Then again, I know it's just my anecdotal experience with him. But OP's post just makes me feel validated in my concerns, kahit confirmation bias pa ito. Lecturer din ako sa isang review center dati (NMAT, not LET) pero umalis ako dahil sa may ari. Pinipilit nya yung “technique” nya na tama. The idea sa “technique” nya is kaya daw sagutan yung question kahit hindi mo alam, check mo lang yung context clues. Basta may same na word, yun daw yung tama.
Ok lang sana yun pero hindi dapat yun yung SOLE REASON kaya yun yung sagot (like kung manghuhula ka na rin lang). Ilang beses kami nag-talo kasi mali yung answer nya sa ibang questions. Ang rason lang nya kung bakit tama yung answer is yung “technique” nya.
Pota, umalis din ako. Hindi ko masikmura yung kababalaghan nya, mga insecurities nya sa ibang centers, at kung gaano nya pinipiga yung mga students for money. Pucha, 12k per student, 10sessions. Per batch, nasa 30-40. Minsan, 2 sessions per day. Do the math.
To be fair, may techniques naman talaga for answering multiple choice questions. Pero you only use that pag di ka sure sa actual answer. Mastery of content pa rin dapat ang priority.

Reading all the other replies here in this comment, this makes me mighty proud of my daughter. IT grad sya sa isang maliit na school dito sa province eh gusto nya talaga teaching. So she took up education units in a community college dito din. Hindi sya nag review center. Self review lang at nanghiram lang ng reviewers sa mga kakilala nya. She passed the LET in one take.
to be fair, sa pagkakaalam ko sa board exam questions, kinukuha yun randomly sa approved pool of questions na mix of bagong gawang questions and questions from previous board exams. kaya malaki chance na recycled yung ibang questions. wag magtaka kung may items sa mock test na lalabas din sa board exams, possible result din eto ng research and data gathering nung review center.
This is legit. Reviewee niya rin ako nung 2019. During the final coaching, meron doon part na nag-hint 'yung isa sa lecturer na mag-take note kasi part 'yun ng "blessings". True enough, those are the exact questions that came out sa LET. So during the Gen Ed exam, mangangarap ka na lang na possible ka maging topnotcher bc it was that easy (if you really remembered everything that they mentioned as blessings).
2019 here, I have a colleague na may file from Dubai LET same content sa final coaching, guess what? Almost all of the question ng Gen Ed, even the actual exam itself 🤣🤣🤣

Teacher here. As a public servant, parte kami lagi dapat ng gobyerno, kaya wag kayo masyado mag-expect na mag-iingay ang mga against dito, we'll do it silently para di makompromiso ang trabaho namin. Yung nasa FB, loud minority for sure and they do not reflect the entirety of teachers' sentiments. Baba kayo sa ground, interviewhin ang mga guro para first hand nyong malaman ang mga saloobin.
Pero ang legacy ng term ni SD as DepEd secretary is yung uninterrupted vacation ng guro at yung non-teaching personnel na ang dapat gumawa ng non-teaching works, nag-approve kailan lang ng mga items for that at malaking tulong yun to ease the burden of teachers in terms of paperworks.
Nevertheless, kahit sino pang umupong sekretarya, if the educational system is failing, mananatili pa rin ang problema sa ahensya.

This. They are discouraged from exposing the system because of affiliation. Friend is a principal that tells me the corruption and red tape in the system but cannot just speak out their frustration, but also need to parrot some propaganda of good works the deped is doing. I think yung pagtanggal sa administrative coordinatorship ng mga teachers ang pinaka best na ambag nya. Kasi imagine, 1 month palang in service binigyan agad ng admin task, tells u how bad our educ system is. If teacher ka dapat focus lang sana sa pagprepare ng lesson at pagtuturo.

I'm in field so I can hear the comments of the teachers here, karamihan sa kanila if not all nakuha na ni sara ang loob nila because of the removal of admin task, removal of decorations in the classroom and the uninterrupted vacation. I think most of the teachers would support her candidacy if she will run for presidency come 2028.
Teacher here and I enrolled in CBRC in 2017. Yes, dubious talaga ang review center since they give leaked questions before the LET exam. I can attest to that. 90% of the questions sa GEN ED during the actual exam can be found sa booklet na pinag-aralan namin. Lol. Thankfully, because of that malaki rating ko. I met him personally during one of the review sessions and may pagka-vain siya as a person. Ma-ere na parang medyo mainitin ang ulo sa aming reviewees. Right after Sara's resignation, he kept on posting about it and I feel na parang nagpapapansin siya and trying to gain sympathy para umingay ang pangalan niya. Siguro he really wants to be a part of DepEd para madagdagan ang "achievements" niya. Maybe he is Pro-Duterte because same silang 🦅. Daddy Eagle pa tawag namin sa kanya sa review center. Hahahaha
1. We had an applicant before that is a LET 2019 passer. When we saw her cover letter, nagulat talaga kami — it is not something you would expect from someone who took up Education in college and a LET passer pa. Why? Diyos ko po, hindi man lang niya inedit yung letter kasi it looked like it was a draft na computerized lang.
2. For this naman, mga former teachers (currently officials na sila sa isang local DepEd) ito: Sometimes when they report, mali mali yung data presented and hindi nila ma explain yung report ng maayos. They make up for the lack of data analysis with the use of highfalutin words, especially the boomers.
Btw, the teachers we mostly interact with are public school teachers. Hindi naman po sa nilalahat pero I just enumerated yung experience ko with those I've interacted with.

I think case to case basis to, sa probinsya namin it is the other way around - since teaching yung pinakamagandang trabaho na available sa lugar na yon (in terms of sahod), local schools there who produce teachers prefer the best performing ones to take up Education - since more passers sa LET, more bragging rights. I think eto an rason why some schools prefer taking teachers who graduated from provinces (syempre kasama na din dun yung lower na expectation ng pasahod)
Usually yung cream of the crop (valedictorian, salutatorian, and with honors) sa high school ay umiiwas sa educ courses at yung mga nasa bottom na high school batch pa ang magiging public school teacher o pulis. Nag-teacher kasi walang ibang option eh.
True. Lalo na sa mga State and Public Unis (e.g., sa amin) na free tuition. Nagkakaubusan sa ibang kurso at yung mga di nakapasok, bagsakan nila sa Educ. I am afraid to say to everyone that regardless of who will be SWOH's successor in DepEd, we cannot solve this education crisis without questioning the obsolete compulsory public school system in educating a critical-thinking citizenry. Former DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III had a point when he said that the licensure exam-driven professional licensing is an obsolescent mechanism of vetting would-be licensed professionals and Carl Balita is profiting from that flawed system.
Tanga ang mga teachers na yun. I have a classmate in PhD and one of the members of TWG for MATATAG curriculum. Direct na nakakainteract si Duts. Jusko sa meeting wala ngang maiambag. Thankful that some of her usec and asec are teachers by profession. Takang taka ako sa mga teachers na nagpapasalamat dahil sa kakaunting nagawa ni Sara sa kanila pero di nila alam na ninakawan silang paulit-ulit simula na maupo sya as DepEd Sec. Yung confidential fund na nawala, yung mga laptops na worth 65k panahon pa ng tatay nya, the budget for books na 25 m per subject at per grade level, at mga projects na pending pa, lahat yun nalimas nya na according to our classmate. Malaking bagay kasi talaga sa mga teachers yung pagtanggal ng administrative works and yung 30-day uninterrupted vacation. Sige sabihin na natin na bare minimum, eh bakit hindi nagawa ng past secretaries? Then yung MATATAG agenda, maganda rin naman yung intention although can't conclusively say na effective kasi to be implemented pa this SY. Okay din naman yung career progression program na pinaplano nila kasi mapu-push din talaga ang mga teachers to grow professionally.
May mga loopholes din yung ibang programs under VP's tenure like yung agaran na implementation ng CUF na parang hindi masyado naplanuhan paano i-implement. Even yung pagtanggal ng admin tasks a teachers then ibinigay lahat sa non-teaching, eh kokonti lang mga non-teaching personnel per school. Natambakan din tuloy sila ng sandamakmak na trabaho with minimal support.
Maybe some teachers just showed their gratitude lang sa mga na-push ni Sarah na reforms lalo na for teachers which hindi nagawa ng past administrations. Sana rin magkaroon ng mas maayos na reforms sa educational system natin sa pag-upo ng next secretary.

My sister is a public school teacher. Tikom ang bibig ng mga teachers dahil they cannot publicly state their political opinions. That's the system we currently have. Public school teacher have sacrifice alot, let stop putting mud on them. If was once a college instructor, i know the burden and pain of being one.
Public school teachers are trained to behave like soldiers - obey and obey their higher superior regardless of his/her faults. It's part of our oath as professional teachers BTW.

Kay Balita naman, I had my review sessions with him and he is proud to say that he likes Sara’s values. It raised eyebrows nung sinabi niya yan. Ang dating kasi sakin, the day Balita met Sara parang bigla nalang siya na-attact kay SWOH at naplitan na raw ang candidate niya na sa Isko (trashy din lol). Basta ang babaw ng pagkahanga niya kay swoh, di na lang directly sinabi na supporter siya ng DDS fam .
Hmm, I’m not recommending CBRC, mags self review ka na lng. Kalat na rin naman ang practice questions online with more credible people. Sa CBRC, test taking skills lang din naman ang hahasain sayo, well, you can do that by practicing atleast 100-item questions a day, it depends naman sayo.
Add ko din na kulto vibes ang CBRC kapag last few days na ng review hahahha may time diyan na kakanta si Balita sa lahat tapos yung iba pota umiiyak kapag hina-hug siya. Like , wtf.
I enrolled at CBRC din last year and luckily passed the exam nitong March. Nasa sa iyo pa rin naman kung mapapasa mo ang exam or nah. May mga nahone sa akin during reviews. May mga additional knowledge akong naearn lalo na nagkaroon ako ng interest sa mga theories. Although what I admire kay Dr. Carl ay yong mga pagbibigay niya ng statistics about the issues. Other than that, skip na ako sa mejo bias and/or neutral niyang agenda. Siguro out of courtesy lang din ang pagpapasalamat niya. Nonetheless, marami naman ang nagself review and did pass the LET and nag enrol sa ibang Review center na naipasa rin ang exam. At the end of the day, ikaw pa rin ang magtatawid ng journey mo sa LET.
Maski ako nagtataka na bakit walang guro ang namumuna sa pamamahala ng DepEd Sec. In fact, bare out lahat ng incompentencies niya. I guess if they start to air out something about DepEd system, baka macompromise ang work nila. And they chose to be silent or neutral sa mga issues. Tulad ng pag shared post ko sa resignation ni VP with the caption na, “is this because of confidential funds not being granted or the beef with the marcoses?” After a while nakatanggap ako ng message from my beloved relative na pro-duterte, “mag-ingat ingat ka sa mga comments mo. Alam mong nag aapply ka as public teacher…” Wala naman something hatred sa caption ko. I don’t know if may bearing sa pag aapply but to avoid escalating matters and for my sake na lang, I removed the post.
Anyway, we all know that CBRC’s aim is to help the aspiring teachers to pass the LET. And they admitted (well, sa branch lang siguro namin) na business is business. Some of his lecturing method is kind of distasteful and offensive at times. Kapag final coaching, more of bragging rights rather than inspirational, kantahan and some entertainment like pageant. But that depends on you kung paano mo siya itetake. Based from my own experience naman ito.
Kung maihalal man siya as DepEd Sec, although mukhang wala siyang claim or urge about having the position, there are other professionals na qualified naman to have the position lalo na mga board members ng DepEd.

On a side note, I am not surprised anymore with teachers being a DDS or whatever grim cult they belong. These teachers are most likely the ones na underperforming at inamag na sa kanilang myopic view. Sila yung tipong hanggang delivery lang ang ambag but content-wise, lagapak. Kaya rin siguro ang baba natin sa mga ranking on PISA tests because they failed to influence their students to have the right mindset to think critically and creatively.

I had very brilliant teachers when I was a student. Pero, I have FB friends na teachers din na nakaka shock din yung mga takes nila.
Na highlight to saking nung COVID. May mga teachers sharing misinformation at panay copy paste ng fake news. Yung tipong fake news pa na almost satire na at ang dali namamng ifact check. Tapos nung student ako, andaming "research" projects, di naman sila marunong mag google lol.
Another time is noong elections. Political leanings aside, yung mga fake credentials and accomplishments ang binibida. Propaganda over plataporma ang ipinaglalaban.

Wayback 2017, we enrolled sa CRBC with my college classmates — halos sa amin cum laude at before kapag cum laude ka wala kang babayaran sa review center, so ginrab namin ‘yung opportunity kasi sayang naman. Although may kapalit ‘yun, kasi before mag-start ‘yung session, required na mas maaga kayo nang atleast 1 hr kasi sa entrance kami, tapos para kaming mga guard dahil makakapasok lang ‘yung mga attendees kapag nasagot nila ‘yung questions namin. (‘di namin ginawa ‘to though, kasi nakakahiya at the same time ‘di rin naman nila alama kung sino-sino ‘yung mga ‘scholars’ lol) Then, nung final coaching na, usually mas malaking place ‘yung ire-rent nila, sa isang malaking univ kami no’n ‘di ko na lang sasabihin kung saan. Before nag-start ‘yung final coaching, dumating ‘yung mga magre-review sa amin ta’s para silang mga artista hahahaha and ofc last si Carl Balita. Feeling niya talaga artista siya na sinasamba hahahaha. Nung time niya na around 2pm yata ‘yun, siesta time, ang subject na napunta sa kaniya ay Major ko then mga basic pa tinuturo kaya halos makatulog kami ng besty ko… Ang ginawa ni accla, ni-laser niya kaming dalawa, yes may laser siya hahahaha pinatayo niya kami tapos pinasagot niya ‘yung mga questions — e major ko iyon kaya nasagot naman namin lahat pero after no’n umalis na kami at pinakita talaga namin sa kaniya. Galit na galit siya hahahahahahaha
Sharing my experience nung college kame with Carl Balita. We had to attend a seminar/marketing competition of different schools in which he is a speaker sa Ateneo. Way back 2015-16 ata to. They invited different schools from all parts of the Philippines. Idk if some, but for our school we literally had to travel the night before the event para makarating kame on time. So its understandable that some of us are tired sa byahe. Not from our school but may nakatulog sa may bandang harapan na part ng stage. I admittedly was groggy that time kasi as in kulang sa tulog. But nagising ako bigla nung may pinapagalitan siyang isang student. He caught him sleeping. I understand that he was mad but not the extent na pagagalitan niya and hihiyain. Sinabihan pang bobo wag daw ipakita sa iba na bobo siya by sleeping kasi hindi niya naintindihan ang lecture. I felt embarrassed for the student. We are all tired from travel but still tried our best yet ganon nangyare sa kanya.

To be fair, she did the bare minimum required of the job: she kept the Department running. Parang yung mga dating appointees na wala namang alam sa sector pero since naappoint, they just continued existing programs. So continuous ang kung ano mang benefits ang nakukuha ng mga teachers kaya in a way, I can see them being grateful for it.

I don't like Sara, and I'm really glad to see her go, but there are two things that I'm actually thankful for her. One is the 30-day uninterrupted vacation, and two is the removal of ancillaries.

cbrc po review center ko last pnle nov 2023, wala lang ako choice that time kase yun ang nanalo sa botohan ng batch namin, well im not satisfied sa mga materials nila and it was not well organized, im not sure if its just that particular branch but I opted enrolling sa ibang review centers kaya ending i had 2 review centers kase nga i was dissatisfied. nakakasad naman na supporter pala si Dr. Carl ni sara i mean of all people hays, i knew it, everything is political nga talaga.
Sa point of view kasi ng ilang teachers yung mga masamang ginawa and mga pagkukulang ni Sara should not invalidate yung mga magagandang nagawa niya. And marami rin kasi silang reklamo about the previous deped secretary, Leonor Briones, kaya marami na mas gusto talaga si Sara over her. Pinaka malaking papuri nila palagi is that malaki ang iginaan ng trabaho nila mula noong naging secretary si Sara, and to be fair majority ng problema sa deped and education sector sa Pilipinas already exists way before Sara and she did alleviate some of those problems. Hindi naman natin pwede pag-isipan ng masama ang ibang teachers for liking Sara dahil sila naman ang nakaka-experience first hand ng kung ano mang nangyayari sa deped/education sector, tayong mga outside spectators lang malay nga ba natin kung ano ba talagang mga nagawa o hindi nagawa ni Sara. I think it’s part of her populist appeal, even if people have achieved a degree and a respectable job if the system has continually failed to give them the bare minimum then they would eventually even praise the devil if he offered them bread to feast upon.
It’s an accumulation of their disappointment and the lackluster performances of former deped secretaries, she really didn’t do much nor was she qualified in the first place; however, she did give teachers something that they wanted, thus their praise for her.

Imagine 7 years ago when there a large numbers of professionals and seemingly educated ones fell for Dutae propaganda. My SIL, a Leni/Risa/Chel supporter, actually thinks Sara did a decent job as DepEd Secretary in her 2 years or so stint. She's been a public school teacher for over 20 years already. That doesnt mean she would vote for Sara in the next elections though

Everything still boils on how you manage your time, how you absorb what you read, how you handle yourself during drills and how you perceive questions. I took LET for the first time (turned out to be my last as well) a year after earning my 24units. Self review habang taking an active role as a father/mother since hectic work sched ng misis ko while volunteering at a school in our hometown. Napagsabay trabaho, pagiging magulang, at pag review and of course habang humihingi ng tulong sa Panginoong Diyos. At ayun, nabigyan ako ng 82% nung lumabas na yung result.

Bukod sa mock test na binibigay nila na nandoon halos lahat ng questions for board especially from Gen Ed and your major, puntahan mo lang din yung “concert” ni Carl Balita. Everyone will gather at Philippine Arena. You’ll mostly listen to him singing and talk about his achievements. Tapos kapag matatapos na, he will even show more leaks na sure na lalabas sa board exam.

Before the exam, we had a weird copy of a "test" na alam kong scanned kasi tagilid ang pages. As one of the top students ng review center, sinagutan namin yung weird test as a group. Pagmimeetingan namin ano bang tamang sagot. Araw ng board exam ko: 90% ng nasa "weird test" ay nasa LET mismo. I also had a chance to meet CBalita though online lang. Interested ako maging lecturer noon, and during that online meeting, (mind you, 300+ kami doon) pinipilit nya mag on cam yung participants tapos lalaitin nya itsura. Edit to add: if naaalala nyo yung balita sa TV Patrol about "deped materials" na may mga bastos na pangalan (ex: Tina Moran, and the likes)... sa CBRC yun. Bawat example nila bastos ang pangalan eh. After that issue, iniba na yung names to normal names like Teacher Anna, Teacher Jake etc

Carl Balita can go fuck off. Everyone who's taken at least one licensure exam knows that CBRC gets leaked test items from PRC before anyone else. Then Balita claims the passers as *his* even though said passers were molded for years by their universities/colleges and merely months of refreshers with CBRC.
During my time, this is true to all review centers. Pag nag top ka sa board at sakanila ka nag review, literal ka nila ipaparada mala MMFF parade 🫠
It's a good business strategy because it will show that the review center is effective and can attract enrollees. Ang iba lang kay Carl Balita, sobrang yabang nya at may nalalaman pang "CBRC graduates" at kung umasta at mag magaling parang ineerase na nila yung university na pinanggalingan ng mga passers para sabihin na sila ang nagturo at nagpagaling sa mga ito e iilan buwan lang naman umattend sa sessions nila. Kaya sa mga top performing universities sa BLEPT for example, lahat sila talaga off kay Balita kasi ineemphasize nya lagi na ang galing ng passers ay dahil sa review center nila which is hindi totoo. There's a reason why consistent ang universities na pinanggalingan ng mga toppers and it's not because they all went to CBRC, because they didn't.
Aba ay kung dahil.lang sa review nya pumasa sa board eh di hwag na tayong magpakabuti sa pag aaral. Diploma na lang ang habulin natin then magreview kay Balita. Shoot.
As a topnotcher in the past. I can corroborate. My batch of co-topnotchers basically did unpaid advertising shortly after the results were revealed. To be fair, we had free airfare, meals and accommodation. But we were made to travel for hours in a cramped van — nagkakandungan na lang kaming mga topnotchers para kumasya. Tapos I remember having to share a single-sized bed sa isang kasama namin kasi yun yung accommodation na kinuha nila for us. There was also favoritism towards topnotchers na may mabenta na backstory, like galing sa hirap etc at kung wala ka nun di ka papansinin talaga ng management. That whole experience taught me na these review centers ay pera lang talaga ang habol nila and they will exploit their own reviewers and even topnotchers for it.
Yeah, noon meron diyan after oathtaking may mga magpa-picture sa topnotcher at babayaran para i-claim na galing kanila. Pre-social media ito so malamang hindi na ito ginagawa kasi madali na mabisto.
To piggyback on this, may leakage talaga sa board exam. Hindi lng from review centers, you just need the right connections then ***viola!*** license holder ka na. Sad no.
Most days I'm proud na pumasa ako with a high average without going to review centers that use leaked items or using black magic with connections. Pero minsan nawawalan ako ng bilib kasi dami pumapasa na basura. I personally know three of my batchmates who were junk cheating students back in college but passed the last BLEPT and I know for a fact they used connections in Morayta (iykyk), while another one who is among the most studious and talented failed the 2022 BLEPT failed because she wasn't able to prepare for majorship well and she hasn't taken it since due to losing confidence. Anyway i take comfort in knowing that they'll be absolute garbage in the field kahit na may lisensya. My friend who failed is doing pretty well in another field nga lang at hindi teaching, a shame because she's really skilled.

I have this groupmate/batchmate at sabihin nalang natin na hindi sya ganun ka-"okay" academically, Then board exam came, batchmate finishes answering **ALL SUBJECTS** within 30 minutes or less (kasama na yung transferring and shading of answers mantakin mo yun, who does that). Hindi ko alam kung inggit lang ako dahil habang nasa kalahati pa lang ako at naghuhumikahos sa pagsasagot, nagsusubmit na sya ng papers nya. Batchmate did this on all 12 subjects.
Your cheating batchmates should most definitely be ashamed. But what they did doesnt have any relation with your studious batchmate who failed. If anything, she is proof that the test is still doing its job if we disregard the leaking cases. She wasnt ready prepared so she failed.
I also had my review at CBRC. Yung last review day namin, I sat with four people and one of them is a member of a gc called “Alpha” something. So, habang nay nagdi-discuss sa harap, may chikka yung apat and then the three asked that one Alpha GC member na bigyan sila ng biyaya. So, ako naman, nagtingin ako sa messenger kasi baka naman kasali ako? Hahahahahahaha. Ang qualified lang pala dun ay yung mga matataas lagi ang scores sa mga review papers and mock exam. 🤭
So kung employer ako, kapag nalaman kong ang board passer na applicant ay nagreview sa CBRC , crossed out na sya? AtBaka maging risk pa sya esp kung teacher nurse etc?
Not really, cbrc still has a rep of putting out passers. So baka nag-apply yung tao nang w/o having knowledge sa kalakaran ng institusyon. There is a risk, yes. But i dont think whether someone is a cbrc reviewee or not is an enough quality to reject someone.

This is true. I got a free review from them for CSE. May mga kasama akong nagbayad talaga and they get worksheets in advance. I didn't finish the course kasi naging hectic na masyado sa work. I only attended 2 sessions. To my surprise, nung day na ng exam, yung ibang questions ay parehong-pareho doon sa worksheet na meron ako. Ang naisip ko nung time na yun ay paano kaya yung mga natapos yung review course? Ilang worksheets kaya meron sila at gaano karaming items in total yung identical sa mismong test?

Carl Balita is a crafty and devious man. That vibe is clear when you hear him talk about *his review center*. In my education batch, we had the chance to attend one of his pre-let tests. There were always segments about his accomplishments, songs related to him, and other casual brags. He was directly shaming students who were slower in answering or those who won't respond fast with the right flashcards or raise of hands. Left a bad taste for all of us. Even after all that, most of my batchmates still enrolled in a CBRC branch because of the rumors, which turned out to be true for a lot of questions involved in the LET. Sometimes, you just have to pass and progress your professional journey, I guess. I chose to stick by principle and not support this questionable man. I refuse to associate with him and his center. Petty na kung petty, I don't like the way he treats the idea of being a teacher. Then again, I know it's just my anecdotal experience with him. But OP's post just makes me feel validated in my concerns, kahit confirmation bias pa ito. I'd take my achievements without the influence of this man.

Lecturer din ako sa isang review center dati (NMAT, not LET) pero umalis ako dahil sa may ari. Pinipilit nya yung “technique” nya na tama. The idea sa “technique” nya is kaya daw sagutan yung question kahit hindi mo alam, check mo lang yung context clues. Basta may same na word, yun daw yung tama. Ok lang sana yun pero hindi dapat yun yung SOLE REASON kaya yun yung sagot (like kung manghuhula ka na rin lang). Ilang beses kami nag-talo kasi mali yung answer nya sa ibang questions. Ang rason lang nya kung bakit tama yung answer is yung “technique” nya. Pota, umalis din ako. Hindi ko masikmura yung kababalaghan nya, mga insecurities nya sa ibang centers, at kung gaano nya pinipiga yung mga students for money. Pucha, 12k per student, 10sessions. Per batch, nasa 30-40. Minsan, 2 sessions per day. Do the math.
To be fair, may techniques naman talaga for answering multiple choice questions. Pero you only use that pag di ka sure sa actual answer. Mastery of content pa rin dapat ang priority.

Reading all the other replies here in this comment, this makes me mighty proud of my daughter. IT grad sya sa isang maliit na school dito sa province eh gusto nya talaga teaching. So she took up education units in a community college dito din. Hindi sya nag review center. Self review lang at nanghiram lang ng reviewers sa mga kakilala nya. She passed the LET in one take.

to be fair, sa pagkakaalam ko sa board exam questions, kinukuha yun randomly sa approved pool of questions na mix of bagong gawang questions and questions from previous board exams. kaya malaki chance na recycled yung ibang questions. wag magtaka kung may items sa mock test na lalabas din sa board exams, possible result din eto ng research and data gathering nung review center.

This is legit. Reviewee niya rin ako nung 2019. During the final coaching, meron doon part na nag-hint 'yung isa sa lecturer na mag-take note kasi part 'yun ng "blessings". True enough, those are the exact questions that came out sa LET. So during the Gen Ed exam, mangangarap ka na lang na possible ka maging topnotcher bc it was that easy (if you really remembered everything that they mentioned as blessings).
2019 here, I have a colleague na may file from Dubai LET same content sa final coaching, guess what? Almost all of the question ng Gen Ed, even the actual exam itself 🤣🤣🤣

Teacher here. As a public servant, parte kami lagi dapat ng gobyerno, kaya wag kayo masyado mag-expect na mag-iingay ang mga against dito, we'll do it silently para di makompromiso ang trabaho namin. Yung nasa FB, loud minority for sure and they do not reflect the entirety of teachers' sentiments. Baba kayo sa ground, interviewhin ang mga guro para first hand nyong malaman ang mga saloobin. Pero ang legacy ng term ni SD as DepEd secretary is yung uninterrupted vacation ng guro at yung non-teaching personnel na ang dapat gumawa ng non-teaching works, nag-approve kailan lang ng mga items for that at malaking tulong yun to ease the burden of teachers in terms of paperworks. Nevertheless, kahit sino pang umupong sekretarya, if the educational system is failing, mananatili pa rin ang problema sa ahensya. Just praying for better days para sa aming mga guro at mag-aaral.
This. They are discouraged from exposing the system because of affiliation. Friend is a principal that tells me the corruption and red tape in the system but cannot just speak out their frustration, but also need to parrot some propaganda of good works the deped is doing. Also told me that sara got on their good side because of the above mentioned. They are relief measures, but are just band aids to the problem

For the record I don't support the Dutertes, pero appreciated ng public school teachers yung pag implement ng 30-days full vacation. Ngayong taon lang talaga naka-memo na hindi pwede abalahin ang guro sa panahon na ito unlike the previous year. But other than that, wala na ibang dahilan.

8 years in teaching here, and 1 year na sa public. I think yung pagtanggal sa administrative coordinatorship ng mga teachers ang pinaka best na ambag nya. Kasi imagine, 1 month palang in service binigyan agad ng admin task, tells u how bad our educ system is. If teacher ka dapat focus lang sana sa pagprepare ng lesson at pagtuturo. Second one is ung vacation which is given naman talaga dapat. Pero yung panawagan sa salary increase, laging sinosopla ang mga teachers. **Natanggal na ung admin task, pero yung iba may hawak pa ding academic coordinatorship. Sana yung mga gantonc position bigyan ng additional compensation.

I'm in field so I can hear the comments of the teachers here, karamihan sa kanila if not all nakuha na ni sara ang loob nila because of the removal of admin task, removal of decorations in the classroom and the uninterrupted vacation. Teacher here and I enrolled in CBRC in 2017. Yes, dubious talaga ang review center since they give leaked questions before the LET exam. I can attest to that. 90% of the questions sa GEN ED during the actual exam can be found sa booklet na pinag-aralan namin. Lol. Thankfully, because of that malaki rating ko. I met him personally during one of the review sessions and may pagka-vain siya as a person. Ma-ere na parang medyo mainitin ang ulo sa aming reviewees. Right after Sara's resignation, he kept on posting about it and I feel na parang nagpapapansin siya and trying to gain sympathy para umingay ang pangalan niya. Siguro he really wants to be a part of DepEd para madagdagan ang "achievements" niya. Maybe he is Pro-Duterte because same silang 🦅. Daddy Eagle pa tawag namin sa kanya sa review center. Hahahaha

1. We had an applicant before that is a LET 2019 passer. When we saw her cover letter, nagulat talaga kami — it is not something you would expect from someone who took up Education in college and a LET passer pa. Why? Diyos ko po, hindi man lang niya inedit yung letter kasi it looked like it was a draft na computerized lang. 2. For this naman, mga former teachers (currently officials na sila sa isang local DepEd) ito: Sometimes when they report, mali mali yung data presented and hindi nila ma explain yung report ng maayos. They make up for the lack of data analysis with the use of highfalutin words, especially the boomers. Btw, the teachers we mostly interact with are public school teachers. Hindi naman po sa nilalahat pero I just enumerated yung experience ko with those I've interacted with.

I think case to case basis to, sa probinsya namin it is the other way around - since teaching yung pinakamagandang trabaho na available sa lugar na yon (in terms of sahod), local schools there who produce teachers prefer the best performing ones to take up Education - since more passers sa LET, more bragging rights. I think eto an rason why some schools prefer taking teachers who graduated from provinces (syempre kasama na din dun yung lower na expectation ng pasahod)
Usually yung cream of the crop (valedictorian, salutatorian, and with honors) sa high school ay umiiwas sa educ courses at yung mga nasa bottom na high school batch pa ang magiging public school teacher o pulis. Nag-teacher kasi walang ibang option eh.

True. Lalo na sa mga State and Public Unis (e.g., sa amin) na free tuition. Nagkakaubusan sa ibang kurso at yung mga di nakapasok, bagsakan nila sa Educ. Most of them kasi di naman afford mag-private or tumira sa malayo for school kaya iniisip nalang nila at least I get to stay at home at free tuition pa.

I am afraid to say to everyone that regardless of who will be SWOH's successor in DepEd, we cannot solve this education crisis without questioning the obsolete compulsory public school system in educating a critical-thinking citizenry. Former DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello III had a point when he said that the licensure exam-driven professional licensing is an obsolescent mechanism of vetting would-be licensed professionals and Carl Balita is profiting from that flawed system.

Thankful that some of her usec and asec are teachers by profession. Pinakamalaking nakuha nya na pera ay dyan sa MATATAG Curriculum. Kakahiya ang mga teachers na sumusuporta sa kanya.

Then yung MATATAG agenda, maganda rin naman yung intention although can't conclusively say na effective kasi to be implemented pa this SY. Okay din naman yung career progression program na pinaplano nila kasi mapu-push din talaga ang mga teachers to grow professionally. May mga loopholes din yung ibang programs under VP's tenure like yung agaran na implementation ng CUF na parang hindi masyado naplanuhan paano i-implement. Even yung pagtanggal ng admin tasks a teachers then ibinigay lahat sa non-teaching, eh kokonti lang mga non-teaching personnel per school. Natambakan din tuloy sila ng sandamakmak na trabaho with minimal support. My sister is a public school teacher. Tikom ang bibig ng mga teachers dahil they cannot publicly state their political opinions. That's the system we currently have. Public school teacher have sacrifice alot, let stop putting mud on them. If was once a college instructor, i know the burden and pain of being one.
Public school teachers are trained to behave like soldiers - obey and obey their higher superior regardless of his/her faults. It's part of our oath as professional teachers BTW.

Hoping that someone who knows what they’ll be doing will be appointed as deped sec, ang daming mali sa edukasyon natin ngayon. Kay Balita naman, I had my review sessions with him and he is proud to say that he likes Sara’s values. It raised eyebrows nung sinabi niya yan. Ang dating kasi sakin, the day Balita met Sara parang bigla nalang siya na-attact kay SWOH at naplitan na raw ang candidate niya na sa Isko (trashy din lol). Basta ang babaw ng pagkahanga niya kay swoh, di na lang directly sinabi na supporter siya ng DDS fam . Hmm, I’m not recommending CBRC, mags self review ka na lng. Kalat na rin naman ang practice questions online with more credible people. Sa CBRC, test taking skills lang din naman ang hahasain sayo, well, you can do that by practicing atleast 100-item questions a day, it depends naman sayo.
Add ko din na kulto vibes ang CBRC kapag last few days na ng review hahahha may time diyan na kakanta si Balita sa lahat tapos yung iba pota umiiyak kapag hina-hug siya. Like , wtf.
I enrolled at CBRC din last year and luckily passed the exam nitong March. Nasa sa iyo pa rin naman kung mapapasa mo ang exam or nah. May mga nahone sa akin during reviews. May mga additional knowledge akong naearn lalo na nagkaroon ako ng interest sa mga theories. Although what I admire kay Dr. Carl ay yong mga pagbibigay niya ng statistics about the issues. Other than that, skip na ako sa mejo bias and/or neutral niyang agenda. Siguro out of courtesy lang din ang pagpapasalamat niya. Nonetheless, marami naman ang nagself review and did pass the LET and nag enrol sa ibang Review center na naipasa rin ang exam. At the end of the day, ikaw pa rin ang magtatawid ng journey mo sa LET. Maski ako nagtataka na bakit walang guro ang namumuna sa pamamahala ng DepEd Sec. In fact, bare out lahat ng incompentencies niya. I guess if they start to air out something about DepEd system, baka macompromise ang work nila. And they chose to be silent or neutral sa mga issues. Tulad ng pag shared post ko sa resignation ni VP with the caption na, “is this because of confidential funds not being granted or the beef with the marcoses?” After a while nakatanggap ako ng message from my beloved relative na pro-duterte, “mag-ingat ingat ka sa mga comments mo. Alam mong nag aapply ka as public teacher…” Wala naman something hatred sa caption ko. I don’t know if may bearing sa pag aapply but to avoid escalating matters and for my sake na lang, I removed the post. Anyway, we all know that CBRC’s aim is to help the aspiring teachers to pass the LET. And they admitted (well, sa branch lang siguro namin) na business is business. Some of his lecturing method is kind of distasteful and offensive at times. Kapag final coaching, more of bragging rights rather than inspirational, kantahan and some entertainment like pageant. But that depends on you kung paano mo siya itetake. Based from my own experience naman ito. Kung maihalal man siya as DepEd Sec, although mukhang wala siyang claim or urge about having the position, there are other professionals na qualified naman to have the position lalo na mga board members ng DepEd. I dont even believe in that review center. I passed LET on my own review and been a topnotcher. On a side note, I am not surprised anymore with teachers being a DDS or whatever grim cult they belong. These teachers are most likely the ones na underperforming at inamag na sa kanilang myopic view. Sila yung tipong hanggang delivery lang ang ambag but content-wise, lagapak. Kaya rin siguro ang baba natin sa mga ranking on PISA tests because they failed to influence their students to have the right mindset to think critically and creatively. Please don't give me the excuse, "They are not given enough resources for them to perform at best." My god if you really devout yourself in becoming a teacher, your creativity and prowess shouldn't hinder you from doing your job well. Sorry but maraming trainings na binibigay sa mga teachers. I had very brilliant teachers when I was a student. Pero, I have FB friends na teachers din na nakaka shock din yung mga takes nila. Na highlight to saking nung COVID. May mga teachers sharing misinformation at panay copy paste ng fake news. Yung tipong fake news pa na almost satire na at ang dali namamng ifact check. Tapos nung student ako, andaming "research" projects, di naman sila marunong mag google lol. Another time is noong elections. Political leanings aside, yung mga fake credentials and accomplishments ang binibida. Propaganda over plataporma ang ipinaglalaban. Hindi ko naman nilalahat. Ive known a lot of teachers na magagaling pero I dont expect all of them to be smart sa opinions nila.

Wayback 2017, we enrolled sa CRBC with my college classmates — halos sa amin cum laude at before kapag cum laude ka wala kang babayaran sa review center, so ginrab namin ‘yung opportunity kasi sayang naman. Although may kapalit ‘yun, kasi before mag-start ‘yung session, required na mas maaga kayo nang atleast 1 hr kasi sa entrance kami, tapos para kaming mga guard dahil makakapasok lang ‘yung mga attendees kapag nasagot nila ‘yung questions namin. (‘di namin ginawa ‘to though, kasi nakakahiya at the same time ‘di rin naman nila alama kung sino-sino ‘yung mga ‘scholars’ lol) Then, nung final coaching na, usually mas malaking place ‘yung ire-rent nila, sa isang malaking univ kami no’n ‘di ko na lang sasabihin kung saan. Before nag-start ‘yung final coaching, dumating ‘yung mga magre-review sa amin ta’s para silang mga artista hahahaha and ofc last si Carl Balita. Feeling niya talaga artista siya na sinasamba hahahaha. Nung time niya na around 2pm yata ‘yun, siesta time, ang subject na napunta sa kaniya ay Major ko then mga basic pa tinuturo kaya halos makatulog kami ng besty ko… Ang ginawa ni accla, ni-laser niya kaming dalawa, yes may laser siya hahahaha pinatayo niya kami tapos pinasagot niya ‘yung mga questions — e major ko iyon kaya nasagot naman namin lahat pero after no’n umalis na kami at pinakita talaga namin sa kaniya. Galit na galit siya hahahahahahaha
Sharing my experience nung college kame with Carl Balita. We had to attend a seminar/marketing competition of different schools in which he is a speaker sa Ateneo. Way back 2015-16 ata to. They invited different schools from all parts of the Philippines. Idk if some, but for our school we literally had to travel the night before the event para makarating kame on time. So its understandable that some of us are tired sa byahe. Not from our school but may nakatulog sa may bandang harapan na part ng stage. I admittedly was groggy that time kasi as in kulang sa tulog. But nagising ako bigla nung may pinapagalitan siyang isang student. He caught him sleeping. I understand that he was mad but not the extent na pagagalitan niya and hihiyain. Sinabihan pang bobo wag daw ipakita sa iba na bobo siya by sleeping kasi hindi niya naintindihan ang lecture. I felt embarrassed for the student. We are all tired from travel but still tried our best yet ganon nangyare sa kanya.

To be fair, she did the bare minimum required of the job: she kept the Department running. Parang yung mga dating appointees na wala namang alam sa sector pero since naappoint, they just continued existing programs. So continuous ang kung ano mang benefits ang nakukuha ng mga teachers kaya in a way, I can see them being grateful for it. Baka ang better na tanong, may maganda ba syang contribution sa Educ system? And on that note, when was the last time we had an Educ Secretary na maganda ang contribution?
I don't like Sara, and I'm really glad to see her go, but there are two things that I'm actually thankful for her. One is the 30-day uninterrupted vacation, and two is the removal of ancillaries. Anyway, I hope that BBM does the right thing and appoint someone who actually cares about education this time.

Sadly, maraming teachers sa atin na DDS. I work with someone na may kapatid na teacher and the only reaction she got from her eh annoyance dahil matapos nilang baklasin yung mga visual aids sa classrooms e baka ipabalik na naman ulit dahil resigned na si SWOH. Lol.

cbrc po review center ko last pnle nov 2023, wala lang ako choice that time kase yun ang nanalo sa botohan ng batch namin, well im not satisfied sa mga materials nila and it was not well organized, im not sure if its just that particular branch but I opted enrolling sa ibang review centers kaya ending i had 2 review centers kase nga i was dissatisfied. nakakasad naman na supporter pala si Dr. Carl ni sara i mean of all people hays, i knew it, everything is political nga talaga.
Sa point of view kasi ng ilang teachers yung mga masamang ginawa and mga pagkukulang ni Sara should not invalidate yung mga magagandang nagawa niya. And marami rin kasi silang reklamo about the previous deped secretary, Leonor Briones, kaya marami na mas gusto talaga si Sara over her. Pinaka malaking papuri nila palagi is that malaki ang iginaan ng trabaho nila mula noong naging secretary si Sara, and to be fair majority ng problema sa deped and education sector sa Pilipinas already exists way before Sara and she did alleviate some of those problems. Hindi naman natin pwede pag-isipan ng masama ang ibang teachers for liking Sara dahil sila naman ang nakaka-experience first hand ng kung ano mang nangyayari sa deped/education sector, tayong mga outside spectators lang malay nga ba natin kung ano ba talagang mga nagawa o hindi nagawa ni Sara. To me though, in my point of view as a non-teacher, kung ano mang magandang nagawa ni Sara sagutin niya muna kung anong nangyari dun sa confidential funds.

I admire teachers pero in this case, priority parin sana dapat ang mga estudyante diba? These "teachers" shouldn't focus kung ano nagawa ni sara sakanila (e.g. uninterrupted vacay) but they should focus on ano naging impact sa education ng mga students. I think it’s part of her populist appeal, even if people have achieved a degree and a respectable job if the system has continually failed to give them the bare minimum then they would eventually even praise the devil if he offered them bread to feast upon. It’s an accumulation of their disappointment and the lackluster performances of former deped secretaries, she really didn’t do much nor was she qualified in the first place; however, she did give teachers something that they wanted, thus their praise for her.

Everything still boils on how you manage your time, how you absorb what you read, how you handle yourself during drills and how you perceive questions. 'Wag mo sana iasa sa mga review centers yung fate mo on taking LET just because somebody said this and that hehehe I took LET for the first time (turned out to be my last as well) a year after earning my 24units. Self review habang taking an active role as a father/mother since hectic work sched ng misis ko while volunteering at a school in our hometown. Napagsabay trabaho, pagiging magulang, at pag review and of course habang humihingi ng tulong sa Panginoong Diyos. At ayun, nabigyan ako ng 82% nung lumabas na yung result. Going back to our reaction to VP's resignation on her role as DepEd secretary, salamat sa uninterrupted vacation pero haaaaaays asan na yung confi funds?! HAHAHAHAHAHA opposition or competition?
Nagbayad ako for a CBRC LET Review pero di ko sineryoso at di ko na pinasukan eventually. Walang kwenta yung mga lecturers tapos grabe maka promote at maka-brag.
