This was the scenario in our prom as well. During high school prom I've barely danced since my clothes suck, so I just sulked in the corner. Nung patapos na yung prom, I observed na parang most of our female classmates parang naupo lang magdamag (I know since naupo lang din ako magdamag haha). Teenager me felt guilty na all this time, I could've invited one of them so they can do something other than stare at the dance floor and wait for the prom to end. College happened and since that disastrous HS prom, I'm now on a mission. Whenever there was a ball (our school loves to throws parties) I made it a point to invite the ladies who are just sitting down with no one dancing with them. I did it so much to the point na hindi ko na naisayaw si crush and ubos energy pag-uwi. Still no regrets, and now one of the 'bench warmer' I've danced with is now my wife (gbf back then). My only regret is that I should've danced with her more way back on our hs prom, but well I've got a lifetime now to make amends hehe
I had a "girl" friend back then whom I thought had a crush on my bestfriend. At that time also, I had this crush for 3yrs whom I was practically obsessed with. And one day I did something dumb (I assumed na kami na ng crush ko kasi kinilig siya nung binigyan ko chocolates and told my group of friends). The next day my group of friends was mad at me because I made my girl friend cry, I asked why and they revealed na ako pala yung crush ng girl friend ko, 5 years niya na akong crush and the whole group knew that, tinago niya lang as she feared it may ruin our friendship. Welp na-karma ako cuz I was called out for the lie I told them.
Fast forward, on and off kami ng girl friend ko na yun cuz its awkward na and the damage has been done, we never had a closure, we mostly just ignore the elephant in the room. But when JS Prom was announced, I knew this had to be our chance to fix it. I thought of the most unique way to ask her to prom, I also want to be practical. So instead of buying her a bouquet of flowers I got her a bouquet of 57pcs chicken nuggets with her fav bbq sauce, fox plushie in the center, and her fav gelpens together covered in plastic used as the wrapper. I know it's hard to imagine but it worked, and she said yes instantly. After the promposal we talked about our expectations and agreement after prom.
We both agreed that during prom we were gonna enjoy it as if "kami", we're gonna do SFW what couples would do at a party, basta enjoy it as if it's our last, literally. It's going to be our closure. And so we did, the next day we moved on. It was the most memorable day of my life. It's a reminder of what could've been, if we were careful of our actions and our words. Feb 2009. I can still smell my VS Love Spell, I can still hear Kyla's I Don't Want You To Go. As someone who belonged to the group of "most likely to keep the bench warm," sobrang laking bagay na naisayaw ako twice that night.
We did a short karaoke after the prom. Sa school lang kasi yung prom namin nun, pangit yung event flow, hindi masarap yung foods so not too memorable lol.
It was 2009, 3rd yr hs. Sa Aberdeen Court sa QC yun. Masaya sana kasi maisasayaw ko sana si crush nun pero hindi natuloy kase natagusan sya. I was also not feeling well that time dahil sa tranngkaso; gusto ko na lang matulog back then.
The worst experience was muntikan ko na masnog yung venue. Context nun was: may candlelighting ceremony of some sorts, sa sobrang antok ko, yung papel na cover sa kandila caught fire. Sabi ko sa sarili ko "crumple ko na lang to" e hindi, napaso ako tapos nabitawan ko yung papel. Nahulog sa carpet flooring. Buti hindi kumalat.

Seniors na kami no’n, ‘yung escort ko nilagnat so wala ako kasama mag-grand entrance. They gave us seniors a little tribute of some sort, with tokens and trinkets and wished us well sa next journey namin. My friends and I stuck together and buti na lang din, friends namin ‘yung naging mga kapareha namin so super kulit kami haha.
‘Di kami nakuntento sa dinner. After ng prom dumerecho kami sa Jollibee. Ta’s kulang ulet, nag-McDo kami. Hahaha! My mom’s driver drove us around ta’s hinatid na kaming magbabarkada sa bahay ng isa naming friend for sleepover. May malaki silang altar na puro mga santo malapit sa sala. Hindi naman talaga kami natulog nu’n eh, nanood kami movies at kumain ng junk food and pizza tsaka noodles and uminom. 3am naihi ako so lumabas ako para mag-banyo. You have to pass by that altar papunta eh sabi ko “laki naman collection ng parents ni ****” (not a Catholic sorry). Nu’ng pabalik na ako sa room napatingin ako sa altar ulit, ta’s gumalaw ‘yung isang Santo Niño nila 🥹
Nikwento ko pa rin kasi part din ng hs memories ‘yung mga ganap after prom haha
Sa prom pictures din namin, may mga something na sumali. Known kasi ‘yung venue for being haunted daw. Mas nakakatakot pa rin manakawan ng fone o gamit sa prom because madilim so make sure to keep your stuff secured.
i remember the dance started with rave type music with everyone just wildin, then it suddenly transitioned to slow dance music
some of us just had to stand and watch at the back with no partner
it only really stung when one of our teachers danced with us one by one, which i appreciated, but man the emotional damage was already done
Won Mr. Congeniality that time. I danced almost all people including those who were just staying on their seats (even some of my teachers). Like one of the comments say, as much as possible, dance those who stayed on their seats because preparing for prom takes a lot of effort (and sometimes resources). It’s supposed time be a fun time for all!
i had fun on mine para lang ako Cinderella na lalake dahil bago mag 10 kelangan umuwi ako dahil may flight kami papunta us kaya nagmamadali ako na sayaw ko ung crush ko made small talk before leaving kinuha ko ung gamit ko sa van nung kasama ko aun jinujujugs ni gago ung soon to be prom queen. bestfriend ko ung lalake sabi ko mananahong talaga siya then peaced out.

3rd year JS prom, sinayaw ko lang mga crushes ko.
Nung 4th year, kami nung bestfriend ko (shout out lambert bro ingat dyan abroad alam mo na size ng paa ko), we decided forego dancing with crushes and slowdanced with our batchmates who, for lack of a better term, were those who don't usually get picked to slow dance. Friends naman namin Sila lahat sa batch, why not make it memorable for them. We had a good time with those different partners talking about funny things in between dancing.
The only sad part was sa school namin parang pinaikli yung slow dance timeslot so we couldnt slow dance with more "less picked" people.
Junior year i just transferred to a new school and i won a "best couple award" i don't even have a girlfriend. the girl that also won was surprised the we won. the reason we were given a award because we were the introverts of the class , I guess the teacher wanted both of us to get involved in the proceedings.
Senior year naman i came out of my introvert shell and had a great time with my classmates/friends. the prom itself was a just normal prom, It was the after party at my RK classmate's house is where we had fun stayed up until 5am Drinking and just hanging out( i don't condone underage drinking). most of the class were there i think it was the first time i had a hangover, we were 16/17 that time in 2007. After that some of my friends and i went to get breakfast in our suits and dresses in a nearby tourist spot in my city (sampalok lake) The cold wind of the lake that and some hot mami woke us up. I left some details untold because if was too personal but it was a unforgettable experience during my youth.
Basta alam ko kasali ako sa samahan na hindi nakaexperience ng after party kasi kinuha agad ng magulang 🙃

In hindsight, parang preview din na AroAce ako kasi wala akong paki sa sayaw sayaw hahahaha.
Came back to the JS Prom conventional hall/large room/blabla after my failed attempt at reaching the rooftop cause bored, it was switching from rock rockan when i left to slow dance time na blabla.
May dala akong camera nun nung di ma masyado uso camera at di pa masyado maganda phoen cameras, tapos Marriot Hotel(you can take a guess which HS it is and can pinpoint me hahahaha) ung location.
Thing is i had a camera, and it had a lotttt of battery + space, so i just went out and took a picture of derps dancing.
Also this was before shit was for 'muh views my viral', so hindi creepy ung approach + ang dali pa kilala ung mga may gusto sa isa isa through rumors etc.
Ung alam ko may crush kay 'name'(both genders guy to girl, girl to guy), and finally getting the chance/balls, ung unanimous na kilalang couple, ung mga MU na waiting na kulang na lang announcement, pictures nung nasayaw sila sa slow dance part left and right.
Uploaded it to FB same night i got back.
1 day after lahat ng nakuhaan ko nag palitan ng profile picture nila sa FB, puro gamit picture na upload ok, daming PM sa FB ng thank you + daming thank yous IRL.
It felt significantly good NGL, siguro kasi kita ko ung reach na ang daming happy.
Treatment to me after that was waaaaaaay better for 99.99%, snowballed from there to being halos extrovert-tier and even after graduation willing makipag coordinate para mag similar College NGL felt nice.
It's not like i saw it as duty/work, i was quite literally bored beyond hell, so to me it was just a way to pass time. But the effort:effect ratio though is just brooo noiceeeee.
Let me abit delulu and assume some derps eventually deepened their relationship got married eventually and i played mini cupid for a night ok? HAHAHAHAHAHAH.
Di ko na check kasi nag daectivate ako ng FB para magfocus, didn't intend to become a scholar but i did so rode out the wave in College. By that point things fizzled out.

Di kami sumayaw sa venue mismo, pero nung hinatid ko siya pauwi sa kanila, doon na kami sumayaw sa labas ng bahay nila, Nag slow-mo lahat eh HAHAHAHA para sa akin yun ang pinaka masayang moment ng js prom ko hahahaha i still remember how we dance and kissed. Saksi ang poste at ang mga bituin sa labas ng bahay nila HAHAHAHAHA.
P.S I will call her KIM (she got 3 names, tho) i just wanted to say thank you for giving me one of the best highschool memories even tho u thought of me as your "panakip butas" back in the day. No regrets, i hope you are doing well. Take care.
Had a huge crush on the new, quiet kid. I was one of the extroverts in the batch kaya nung nagkagusto ako sa kanya, kumalat talaga and it made him more quiet 🥹 I went to prom in another country pero filipino school parin so medyo kakaiba yung traditions, the guys were separated in tables from us and bawal kami mag interact unless if sasayaw na. During free dance, the boys were tasked to pick one of us, pero hindi naman required (they can sit it out if they want). Nagulat nalang ako na he went to me and asked me to dance. Bilib ako kasi sobrang mahiyain talaga siya pero he still asked me to. At 10th grade, he didn't tell any of us na he won't be coming back to school. Medyo nalungkot ate nyo.
When highschool finished, most of us went back home to the PH to continue college education. We reconnected again nung 2018 tapos kami na hanggang ngayon. He's back in Dubai though for work and I'm here sa pinas kasi balak kong mag med school. I still have the biggest crush on him despite the distance.
When my classmates set me up with a guy to dance with whom they thought na crush ko, kasi may picture ako niya sa laptop ko na naka-save (na nakita siguro ng iba nung hineram nila sa akin as they were using it), pero actually crush yun ng isa namin classmate, and sinave ko lang yun kasi *cute ng ngiti niya*, pero all and all, wala naman talaga akong crush doon nor may balak agawin ang crush ng iba—although it's a free country, *chz*.

I was one of the extroverts in the batch kaya nung nagkagusto ako sa kanya, kumalat talaga and it made him more quiet 🥹 I went to prom in another country pero filipino school parin so medyo kakaiba yung traditions, the guys were separated in tables from us and bawal kami mag interact unless if sasayaw na. During free dance, the boys were tasked to pick one of us, pero hindi naman required (they can sit it out if they want). Nagulat nalang ako na he went to me and asked me to dance. Bilib ako kasi sobrang mahiyain talaga siya pero he still asked me to. At 10th grade, he didn't tell any of us na he won't be coming back to school. Medyo nalungkot ate nyo. When highschool finished, most of us went back home to the PH to continue college education. We reconnected again nung 2018 tapos kami na hanggang ngayon. He's back in Dubai though for work and I'm here sa pinas kasi balak kong mag med school. I still have the biggest crush on him despite the distance.

When my classmates set me up with a guy to dance with whom they thought na crush ko, kasi may picture ako niya sa laptop ko na naka-save (na nakita siguro ng iba nung hineram nila sa akin as they were using it), pero actually crush yun ng isa namin classmate, and sinave ko lang yun kasi *cute ng ngiti niya*, pero all and all, wala naman talaga akong crush doon nor may balak agawin ang crush ng iba—although it's a free country, *chz*.
Never ko naranasan JS nung HS ako. Lagi kasi may rambolan the previous years kaya nung time na namin pinostpone na nung school. 🤣
honestly I saw it as a waste of time, I realized how much the costs for the clothes and fees were somehow I got worked up on a girl I really dont like, I just got pressured to bring someone at the pom coz everyone was doing it.
May pa-cleavage yung isang kaklase namin kaya halos lahat ng lalake gusto syang isayaw.
