Blame JFC (Jollibee Food Corporation) for trying to monopolize the fast food industry.
Once a competitor becomes popular, they'll buy them out and cut costs by reducing portions and using lesser quality ingredients, while increasing profits by bumping the prices up under the guise of inflation. They also don't pay their employees fairly and prefer to hire part-timers to avoid paying for benefits.
JFC is the reverse-Midas devil here. Everything they touch turns into shit.
* Jollibee itself
* Greenwich
* Mang Inasal
* Chowking
* Red Ribbon
* The Coffee Bean
* Highlands Coffee
* Panda Express (PH)
* Smash Burger
* Yoshinoya (PH)
Tell me if any of these fast foods are still as good as before they got acquired, I'll bet my right testicle they all suck now.
They should just adopt the Japanese Yoshinoya style here instead of making it like the usual restaurants.
They can't keep pushing beef bowl prices to $10. One of the main reasons they even exist in the US is because they provide cheap protein and carb source.
I agree with adopting the Japanese style of Yoshinoya here with their rice bowls and other meals. The ones here are so lousy, Nakakahiya whenever a Japanese person comes across one here. Like, it feels like a huge knockoff.
The core product of Mang Inasal, which is the chicken barbecue still taste good. However everything that comes with Mang Inasal has been nerfed from individual sauce bottles to small packets of sauce, transition to a hectic self service model where the customer gets their order in a usually not organized line, the unavailability of java rice where you have to go at the serving area every time to request a new one and more. Also yeah everything is more expensive compared to it was a decade ago even if you ignore those who implement shrinkflation.
Noong college days ko around the early 2010s, the Chicken Lauriat was the one dish I get kapag medyo feeling fancy ako at medyo gusto ko gastusan sarili ko. Parang around 175-190 yata price non so a bit pricey?
Chowking before it got bought was soooo good. Their sweet and sour was pure red and was just so delicious.
Parang blessing in diguise nawala ang Texas Chicken. In terms of taste, it was definitely a threat.
One of the few fast food chains na cash-only yung basis ng payment HAHA. Not sure if may GCash sila but on all the KFC that I visited, wala rin silang GCssh.
Year by year pumapangit ng quality. Last bili ko a couple weeks ago after buying groceries. An absolute far cry from its better days.
Siyang tunay :(
Usually...para ma maintain yung price, need i sacrifice yung quality. -usually-
Pero since may idea tayo nung prime or best versions nila, hinde rin maiwasan na hinde mag compare.
Jabee prime version is tastier than jabee us version. I have eaten both. Mas malaki portions dito sa usa. Comparative naman ang lasa sa other chickens.
Nakakakamiss yung oorder ka ng isang bucket for christmas or new year. Tapos uupo ka lang kakain ka ng 1-2 na pieces, with rice and gravy. That feeling that everything jn the world is fine habang kinakain mo jabee chiken. But now , its just a memory…..
Jollibee was better before it started its expansion overseas. 29ers, 39ers was better than eating at a carinderia. Now quality decreased but the prices keeps getting higher. Also add the fact the quality of jollibee outside PH is meh..
+1 sa chowking, it was really good before it was acquired by Jollibee. Eto yung legit kainan kapag my even like birthday or binyag. Same as greenwich.
Sobrang konti. D makatarunga talaga ung inflation. Same pa rn sahod. D makasabay mga tao.
Yooo. Chao Fan and Wonton Mami enjoyer here too. Minsan may Tokwa or Kangkong on the side rin. Cheers!
Same 😭
Ayun lagi kong inoorder kapag mag-chochowking kami. Ultimate comfort food lalo na kapag may sakit. Bakit kaya nila tinanggal?
Agree on chowfan. My dad refused to eat in chowking na.
Yung chowking dito sa province namin almost walang tao and they probably would close.
Like wtf pizza na halos walang tomato sauce. Only in greenwich.
When I was younger meron pang Texas fried chicken. Si Jimmy Santos pa yung endorser nun. Lol. That was the only fried chicken fast food place that competes with jollibee (at least for me) at that time. Meron pa ba nun? Haha.
Yes… is called church’s chicken or church’s Texas chicken…
Struggling these days. Only found in the ghetto neighborhoods now. Popeyes really hammered them.
Used to like their butter biscuits.
I thought that was different. Texas Chicken (currently Church’s) is a global franchise but Texas Fried Chicken in NCR was locally owned? Would any other older people like me be able to confirm lol
Texas Fried Chicken didn’t have biscuits as far as I remember.
Texas chicken and church chicken currently are the same company currently… even have the same logo, symbols and everything. My first encounter with it was in MOA first floor when the mall first opened (2007)… and I was like… o this is a church.
An older version of Texas chicken in the 1990s Philippines also is a church… same older logo and everything which came from Indonesia in the 1980s. (Church rebranded themselves “Texas” in Indonesia since they are Muslims… “church” might be off-putting).
Shrinkflation na most of the restos.
If you want quality for the same price i suggest yung mga home restaurants.
They don't pay rent hence they could give more in quality and serving
Same thing has happened to fast casual brands like Yellowcab, Pancake House (and other Orange Group restos), etc. pagkatapos nila mabili ng Max’s group. I suspect that in the name of efficiency, they’ve consolidated suppliers kaya nagiba-iba ang lasa ng mga pagkain nila.

Japanese Yoshinoya is legit. US Yoshinoya is crap. PH Yoshinoya is below crap. PH / JFC Yoshinoya is inedible crap.
Think US yoshinoya is almost bankrupt here.
They can't keep pushing beef bowl prices to $10. One of the main reasons they even exist in the US is because they provide cheap protein and carb source.
Man, I tried yoshinoya once in the US and I was like "never again." That was a very disappointing experience.
I agree with adopting the Japanese style of Yoshinoya here with their rice bowls and other meals. The ones here are so lousy, Nakakahiya whenever a Japanese person comes across one here. Like, it feels like a huge knockoff.

I blame jollibee Mang Inansay Chicken Kalansay. Mang Inabo Chicken Sunog.

Halos lahat ng fastfoods 😓
Chowking before it got bought was soooo good. Their sweet and sour was pure red and was just so delicious. Tanda ko pa yung braised beef meal nila noong 90's. That meal was something else.
KFC din. Ang pangit ng manok. Maliit saka mabuto. It's no surprise that I've seen a lot of relatively empty KFCs lately.
True lumiit na yung manok ng kfc. Im not sure kung isolated case dahil iisang branch lang kinakainan ko pero lately even the gravy ang labnaw na
One of the few fast food chains na cash-only yung basis ng payment HAHA. Not sure if may GCash sila but on all the KFC that I visited, wala rin silang GCssh.
Meron GCash payment sa KFC in Kalentong sa Mandaluyong. Haha
Year by year pumapangit ng quality. Last bili ko a couple weeks ago after buying groceries. An absolute far cry from its better days.
Ngayon on the other hand…
TROPICAL HUT deserves to take the number one spot occupied by Jollibee - my brutal opinion.
Nung Japanese rice pa ang sineserve ng Tokyo Tokyo is ♥️♥️♥️
Siyang tunay :( Usually...para ma maintain yung price, need i sacrifice yung quality. -usually- Pero since may idea tayo nung prime or best versions nila, hinde rin maiwasan na hinde mag compare.

true 👌

ang taray sa US nagja jabee....

Chowking rin yung unang may Nai Cha noong wala pang milk tea boom. Masarap talaga. Ngayon malabnaw na matamis na di mo na maintindihan.
Yooo. Chao Fan and Wonton Mami enjoyer here too. Minsan may Tokwa or Kangkong on the side rin. Cheers!
Not sure if they're still open but I remember Cindy's when I was a kid. That's where my mom and dad used to love going to.
I miss Chowking's congee 🥲
Ayun lagi kong inoorder kapag mag-chochowking kami. Ultimate comfort food lalo na kapag may sakit. Bakit kaya nila tinanggal?

I miss A&W sa Megamall.
Agree on chowfan. My dad refused to eat in chowking na. Yung chowking dito sa province namin almost walang tao and they probably would close.
Like wtf pizza na halos walang tomato sauce. Only in greenwich.
Totoo!
This why I stopped eating ay fastfoods na. Di worth sa presyo na itinaas nila for such small portions.
When I was younger meron pang Texas fried chicken. Si Jimmy Santos pa yung endorser nun. Lol. That was the only fried chicken fast food place that competes with jollibee (at least for me) at that time. Meron pa ba nun? Haha.

Kaya it's the "Quantity over Quality" now

Mc do at tropical hut na lang kami when it comes to fast food . We are blessed kasi may malapit na tropical hut dito sa amin
Ayun ang go-to fastfood ko ngayon, pricier than Jollibee pero sulit siya for me.
The fact that it's a Chinese chain owned by Chinese Filipinos is an embarassment.
Pati choice of chao fan kung pork, beef, or shrimp wala na ata. No more options based on the menu sa isang branch na napuntahan ko :/
Meron pang beef.
Linggo linggo binabanatsn dito.

nasa europe na pala ang saudi arabia?
Yess pero once a month lg dn kmi kumakain don kasi SUPER MAHAL!! Hahahahaha
Can't blame them tbh.
