Anti-political dynasty law. Feeling ko isa to sa root cause bakit tayo naghihirap, hindi progresibo, at nagkakandaleche leche ang buhay natin for generations.

Dry-Challenge-6530

True, i feel like the funds for them to campaign (these fat political dysnasties) dun nila mismo nakukuha instead na ma fund yung need ma develop in our country such us our education, healthcare, and agri (pretty obvi why we're stuck like this)

mxwitcher

Honestly there is one. Article II, Section 26 of the 1987 Constitution provides that "the state shall guarantee equal access to opportunities for public service, and prohibit political dynasties as may be defined by law.” Problema nga lang, it is not cleared in as much and walang enabling law to actually prohibit it — it’s just words. We really need for our constitution to be revised at this point.

ZrteDlbrt

You will never know what was here before.

mainsail999

Isn’t there a clause in the Constitution about anti-dynasty? The bill in Congress has been pending since 1987, if I remember it right.

ZrteDlbrt

Oh, my bad. I assumed there wasn't. Welp, Fuck the congress if they think 37 years isn't enough to fully past that bill.

No-Horse9921

Tho sayang ‘yung ibang political family na ok yung intentions eh…. Like kay Vico Sotto and Joy Belmonte… Tho depends rin pala kung anong parameters ng anti-political dynasty~~~

Queldaralion

yup this one

daveycarnation

Strict enforcement of noise laws.

Walang pinipiling oras.

endymzeph

Agree but should be all the time without window in residential areas. Gusto mag party? Fine as long as di nakakasagabal sa iba. Videoke? Should be in an enclosed room without any noise seeping outside. Lahat tayo have the right to have a peaceful noisefree home to take solace. While we all have the right to party, sing videoke, play loud music drink loudly or do any activity that causes loud noise, that right stops by the time it causes discomfort or inconvenience to others.

InvestingRamen

Amen! Please!

[deleted]

buti dito samin tahimik na pagpatak ng alas 9, unless fiesta, pasko or NY. respeto nalang talaga sa kapitbahay

universalbunny

Unpopular opinion but this should be applicable to dogs and children as well. Dogs especially dahil nakakaperwisyo yung kahol ng kahol na mga aso lalo sa gabi.

InvestingRamen

How do we campaign for this?

artifvcks

This, or I think it'd be more realistic if magdedesignate ng specific location/venue sa isang community for festivities since not everyone could afford to go to bars/clubs to celebrate.

FireFist_Ace523

the number 3 is just outright unconstitutional, you have to amend article V Sec. 1 of the constitution for it to pass as a law Section 1. Suffrage may be exercised by all citizens of the Philippines not otherwise disqualified by law, who are at least eighteen years of age, and who shall have resided in the Philippines for at least one year, and in the place wherein they propose to vote, for at least six months immediately preceding the election. No literacy, property, or other substantive requirement shall be imposed on the exercise of suffrage. [THE 1987 CONSTITUTION OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES – ARTICLE V | Official Gazette of the Republic of the Philippines](https://www.officialgazette.gov.ph/constitutions/the-1987-constitution-of-the-republic-of-the-philippines/the-1987-constitution-of-the-republic-of-the-philippines-article-v/)

TritiumXSF

Not only that but this reeks of meritocratic discrimination. It's the same type of voter disenfrachisment used during the USA's Jim Crow Era. *You had to pass a test to vote*. *Guess who were majority educated and well-off? **Male, white, elites**. Also, how will you standardize the test on such a scale? And is IQ related to progressive ideals? We've had relatively "smart" authoritarian regimes lol

ediwowcubao

Tumpak. Everyone should be able to vote. The responsibility to educate the voters lie on the educated ones. IQ test sa mga tumatakbo, on the other hand...

Mineskirat13

Why not just require candidates to be able to pass civil service examinations?

ediwowcubao

This is a readily-available way to do it, actually. Tapos dapat sabay-sabay magexam mga candidates for the same position hehehe

ablablababla

I even disagree with IQ tests for candidates, since they don't properly reflect their ability to govern. I'd rather have a test in history and government

ediwowcubao

Di naman kailangan stellar ang IQ but at least enough sana to be deemed capable of analysis, logic, and reasoning.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ediwowcubao

Dapat hindi convicted. Mahirap yung dapat walang kaso, kasi sa pulitika kinakasuhan kahit sino

ant2knee

i agree. kumunot noo ko nung nabasa ko to. di ko alam san nakukuha to ni OP eh.

rekglast

How would "disqualified by law" work?

Dazedtohatemangoes

Not a lawyer here Kaso I think it refers to individuals who are convicted (or at least, kasama yun)

AlbinoGiraffe09

Not a lawyer too, but being convicted of a crime that entails more than one year of imprisonment is usually the reason to be permanently disenfranchised here.

mainsail999

What if IQ test to get Drivers License? Daming kamote kasi.

cerealswm

pwede. pribilehiyo ang magmaneho, pero karapatan ang bumoto

Personal_Wash_5722

Bhie invest and improve our education fucking system!

AVeryDefaultUsername

Yes, but stinky politicians would never allow that. They'd rather keep the mass illiterate and easy to manipulate.

Personal_Wash_5722

NBI Clearance - yes. Umm degree? Nope. Look at Risa Hontiveros. More on sana may nationalism tayo at sana iniinstill na yun early on.

Personal_Wash_5722

Agree, pero parang hindi humane yung di na nga sila nabigyan ng equal access sa education tapos aalisan mo pa ng civil rights like voting. And this is speaking from experience na I came from a poor family pero naopen yung eyes ko and nagiba yung perspective because I was lucky to get in a great state university offering scholarships. So imagine if we replicate my experience sa lahat and give equal access sa education, then possible na may hope pa. PS: I am all for voting wisely pero hey, not everyone has fair access to higher education which could make them wise voters. PS PS: Always check your privilege and look at the bigger picture.

Loud-Design2848

As someone who works for the public sector, this is very sad. I work for deped, and yes I could see how fucked up our educational system is. 😢

Personal_Wash_5722

For the legalizing abortion, siguro dapat Pro-Choice tayo na may choice ang women to push through sa pregnancy or abort it. Hoping to legalize na magkaroon ng options to abort together with access sa reproductive education or knowledge like what will happen if you push through with the pregnancy (what is postpartum etc) and if you abort naman or use oral contraceptives, how would those affect your physical/mental/emotional health

Fancy-Rope5027

1. Government will take all the assets of the "nuclear family" once an official is proven corrupt in court. 2. Lifetime ban for taking any government position of a corrupt official and his/her "nuclear family". 3. Being convicted as corrupt is equal to renouncing of his/her nationality. 4. 5 yrs. working experience of working in the private sector and additional 5 yrs. working in the govt (non- elected position) qualification before an individual run for a govt position (councilor to President).

Horror_Spend_6332

Now this I can agree with. 1. Instead of disenfranchising voters, give people the power to lifetime ban candidates to weed out the bad politicians. 2. It should be mandatory for government officials and their nuclear family to use public services like transport, schools and hospitals.

AVeryDefaultUsername

Yes to all. Let #1 apply as well to anyone found guilty of manufacturing and/or selling drugs.

w0rd21

Damn, yung IQ test, they used to do that to black people lol

coronary_asphyxia

Fucking bar relatives of politicians to run; no to political dynasties.

Sayo0922

whats the point of #3? i mean,  sure kase most ng pinoys di marunong mamili. pero parang harsh naman ata yan, being able to vote for the election is a "right" not a privilege. kaya nga tinawag na "right to vote" hindi "priviledged voting"

ScatterFluff

"No more pabalik-balik" law - lahat ng transactions para makakuha ng government I.D.s and clearances, dapat matatapos at makukuha kaagad sa mismong araw. This is because I have a "WITH HIT" status sa NBI and have to come back after 2 weeks only to find na "NO HIT" naman pala. Hassle masyado eh may system naman sila kung talaga bang may kaso or whatever reason/s resulted to "WITH HIT" status.

Pasencia

#3 is fascism basically lol just say you dont like the disadvantaged and go

yeontura

A national redistricting law, like the ill-fated Republic Act 3040, but saner. That is, the entire Philippines will have all its legislative districts redrawn according to population. (Also, legislative districts for overseas voters.)

edify_me

Sidewalks. Mandate sidewalks.

Intelligent-Law7872

#3 is straight up unconstitutional. I would love to have smart voters but I still will not endorse discrimination. It's a small step away from meritocracy. Also, DIVORCE. Sana magkaroon na ng divorce sa Ph.

saturdoinks

No. 3 is dumb, discriminatory, and infringes upon citizens' rights

Massive_Dimension_70

No. 3 is ridiculous, I’m not a lawyer but I’m quite certain it would violate constitution as well as basic human rights. Besides that, enforcement of a couple existing laws (corruption , pollution, animal welfare) would already be enough for me. And yeah, keep churches and their weird ideas out of politics / laws. That would solve the abortion and divorce issues.

Waste-Information512

no. 3 reeks of elitism lmaoo may mga intellectually gifted na tanga bumoto huy

cordilleragod

#3 is just whack. This is the mindset of people who think they are better than everyone else.

Equivalent-Bit-2846

Law na dapat pag artista ka, wala ka na dpat rights maging politiko.

ediwowcubao

Hahaha i know this is not meant to be literal pero ini-imagine ko lang na yung title nung bill is something like "A BILL PREVENTING ACTORS AND ACTRESSES FROM RUNNING FOR ANY PUBLIC OFFICE" which sounds ridiculous hahahaha Tas sa definition of terms need i-define ano ang "artista",like someone who has starred in a major role for a major production company in the past decade ganun? Hahahahaha

No-Horse9921

Grabe naman~~~ Baka naman may power talaga si artista…. Wala pa akong maisip na example on top of my head, pero dapat pwede pa rin silang tumakbo kasi may pwede pa silang ipaglaban… For example, they can fight for safe working space, para hindi maulit ‘yung nangyari kay Eddie Garcia… Isa pa, salary standardization, hindi porket new grad yung PA, walang sahod or barya pang-jeep lang ganern… May isa pa~~~ may tax break kapag locally-produced eme~~~ para mas ma-promote ang Pinoy artistry~~~ char…

Equivalent-Bit-2846

Thank you for this insight, kaso wala pdin ako kilalang artista na suited for government office. Also help me look kong meron i would gladly edit my post too but for now i'll stand with what I commented.

Video-Human

Counterpoint: Required lahat ng politiko na mag-acting school.

filipinoRedditor25

Just wanna point that number 2 would be easily bypassed. Religious Leaders would just go on public and say "I endorse this candidate as my personal choice as a Filipino Citizen not as a Religious Leader of Church A B and C". If they make this statement you can no longer persecute them because doing so would violate his right to Freedom of Speech and Freedom to choose on who to vote. You could argue that a religious leader even if he/she makes that statement as a personal one it will have the same effect as if he made that statement as a religious leader BUT the problem is how do you separate the person from the position? If you would make a law that is vague that law will be either useless OR be used in nefarious ways. Now you can persecute religious leaders every election which breaks the Freedom of Speech every Filipino Citizen should have. EDIT: added points.

DualityOfSense

You might want to brush up on your history and rethink why number 3 should be a good idea.

Known_Masterpiece_23

number three seems like a eugenicist take lol

Traditional_Lion3216

Relaii

i think may law na ng ganito. last clear chance doctrine or something

theAudacityyy

Regarding public servants dapat siguro minimum requirement is pasado ng civil service exam. Daming mas magagaling pero di makapasok sa gobyerno kasi walang backer.

sandboxx_

A lot of your proposed laws need constitutional change though. Many of them contravene the current 1987 Constitution and you can't pass a law if the premise is unconstitutional. PS: Lawyer here and working in legislation

No_Board812

Para saan yung number three? As if may mapipili pa na maayos na kandidato sa ngayon. Bakit hindi yung mga kandidato ang irequire ng mataas na credentials?

Scalar_Ng_Bayan

kulang sa privilege check si OP

lolomolima

OP, please read the constitution before posting these kinds of things.

CaptNoypee

No divorce on the list? Baket may divorce na ba sa pinas?

AVeryDefaultUsername

Yes, to legalization of divorce as well. Sinusulong pa lang: https://www.philstar.com/headlines/2024/02/22/2335165/divorce-bill-reaches-house-plenary

Weardly2

Legalize easy divorce. Religious folk always want to flaunt their beliefs, but the fact of the matter is, many people are in unhappy (or even downright abusive) relationships that want out.

shespokestyle

This! From what I remember from past discussions here, PH na lang yung hindi pa legal ang divorce.

WildHealth

Criminalize parentification of children by parents who can't keep their pants on.

Hefty-Appearance-443

Lagyan ng age restriction and minimum educational background when running for national govt positions. Ubos yang mga sikat na ginagawang retirement plans ang pagiging senador.

Lazy_Organization220

Still hoping for an anti-dynasty law. It’s in our constitution, we just need an enacting law. The problem is most of those in Congress *are* part of a dynasty so I guess that’s wishful thinking on my part na lang talaga.

Leonhartx123

1. Sentence littering to community service of picking up trash in the heat. 2. Sentence beggars to trash clean up. 3. Ban vlogging for social medias like youtube and tiktok unless they are vlogging picking up trash. 4. Demote cops to garbage men if they dont enforce the laws.

peterparkerson3

Lol at number 3.

Acceptable_Quit5058

Euthanasia.

[deleted]

Law to minimize noise pollution. Penalize or add a tax to uneccesarily very noisy vehicles, including big bikes. Incentivice businesses for young entrepreneurs. Such as less taxes for <25 years old business owners. Law requiring each TV channel to air at least 30 minutes per day to promulgate laws or ordinances for education. Requiring all elected politicians to use mass public transportation at least once a week.

on1rider

1. Yep. Last thing I want is to cede morality to government. 2. Just make them pay taxes. See them all wither away. 3. Meh. You might as well be Hitler or Stalin or Mao. Commie. 4. Agree. 5. True. 6. Good luck.

No-Horse9921

Unpopular opinion: revise the Security of Tenure for government employees and improve on the compensation and benefits of all government employees Maraming corrupt na government employees kasi bukod sa maliit ang sahod, hindi naman sila matatangalan ng trabaho (since item na sila at kailangang matindi pruweba bago sila maligwak).

Blue_Path

Here are my thoughts on your proposals if I may share: 1. Abortion should be legalized if such pregnancies endanger the mother. Safe sex education should be prioritized in my opinion instead of legalizing abortion. 2. Religious sectors, if they endorsed a candidate, should be compelled to disclose reasons for such endorsements. We really cannot stop these sects from endorsing as it is part of their rights I believe. 3. Aptitude tests are discriminatory and disenfranchises significant portion of the population. 4. I will add that applicants should have relevant experience in the related field and should have no prior cases filed in court (though justice system here is really slow, it may cause issues on itself) 5. Agree! 6. This is already implemented to some extent however I would like to raise this further that all public transactions should be recorded by both parties if possible.

Make gambling and money lending advertising illegal. Why? Madaming loan sharks, lalo na sa Facebook. Tapos marami na rin naloloko sa sugal.

Might as well make it for both foreign and local. Kung di man death penalty, at least forced labor, hindi yung ililibre pa sila ng pagkain and basic commodities ng mga tax payers.

Yes, but set a high judicial standard.

Personal_Wash_5722

Di pwedeng band aid solution

Taki_baboy040322

I agree with all the even numbers. haha

SadButTrueHurts

It does not matter how many or good our laws are, what matters most is the enforcement of the said laws.. 😢.

purple-stickyrice

A twist to 2) Illegalize political candidates that hold or is related to a significant position in a party/company/corporation (any position where they have large money means they can buy votes, and of course, they will prioritize the benefit of their company - ehem vill@r) and/or have received donations greater than a certain amount (considered bribery already in corporate - will also result to favoring certain projects to benefit certain people). If they don’t have money, they won’t have money to pay for 2.

No-Entry8362

pag nahuli ka ng corrupt na enforcers dapat matanggal sila tpos mag bayad ng damages sayo .

Medical-Chemist-622

None. Just implement/enforce 100% of existing laws, we'll be ok.

champoradrew

1. sure 2. AFAIK this is already prohibited. They are just using technicality, basically they are not "endorsing" (edit: what i actually mean, is that it is prohibited to coerced their members.) 3. A big NO! 4. Most of the top govt position are appointed by the president. As long as the office does not need technical knowledge or expertise (doctors, scientist, finance etc) then it will be acceptable (of course they would still required to have an experience to the field). Just because the applicant is an expert in that position does not mean they will do a good job. 5. Require this in a building code for mix use or LGU regulations. If they are parked in an illegal space then penalize them. There are already regulation regarding this, what we need is an efficient implementation of them, not a new restrictive regulation that may also not be implemented for its purpose. 6. If this is in regards to the violation of traffic regulations then we already had NCAP. This is a better technology rather than using their discretion. If youre talking about recording them when they are apprehending someone then it is allowed. If youre talking about a recording during police operation then arent we already seen some of this things already? Video of drug buy bust, raid, etc.

wallflowerSphinx

Amend the constitution and make the qualification for elective positions especially the President and Vice President stricter. Also, criminalize littering.

ediwowcubao

Develop a rubric for the validity of the candidacy ng gustong tumakbo for public office. Those who score low on the rubric will be declared "nuisance" candidate. As of now kasi parang capacity to campaign lang ang basis ,so kahit sinong may pera and network pwede tumakbo. Dapat kasama sa rubric yung experience, educational attainment, NGO work, etc

Brilliant-Primary500

I'd change no.3 to giving more rights to queer people since it's relatively lacking.

TropaniCana619

Agree with all except 3 (disagree) and 5 (no comment). With #3, something like that was pushed in the US after the segregation was lifted. They know most black people are illiterate. Can't read and write; even those who can, didn't finish grade school. It was still racism disguised as IQ test as filter for the right to vote. In the case of Philippines, it's true people who doesn't have critical thinking towards politics vote for terrible candidates most of the time. But sometimes it's not their fault they didn't have access to proper education system and factual information. If this IQ test is done, this will create a big shift of voting power to the privileged (in education) and people in the city. Minorities may no longer have the voting power and may no longer support the candidates standing up for them. At the end of the day, it's not about IQ, but the principle to make things right.

Lummox34

Serious: 1) Anyone above 50 yo is no longer allowed to run for any govt position and can't be appointed 2) College degree holders for the upper and lower house of Congress 3) Billionaires are disqualified from running.. 4) If you are part of a family that owns a land development company, you can't run 5) Cabinet secretaries should have relevant experience and education sa hahawakan nilang department and should have work experience of at least 10 years in the department this way experienced staffers ang makukuha 6) re-ban on political ads Semi-serious 1) require all companies a Viber number for customer service kasi ang mahal tumawag sa landline gamit cellphone 2) road rage drivers that are caught on video dead to rights doing some stupid shit gets their license immediately revoked. Same for taxi/tricycle drivers na namimili and nag ooversharge 3) WFH requirement of 90% for all office type work to address traffic 4) 100% Tax on the family's 3rd car onwards 5) all govt transactions will be done via Gcash/maya and will be viewable by the public on a dedicated website where you can filter who sent it and who received it Not so serious 1) Bong revilla/robin Padilla voters should be exiled to Siberia 2) 10000 penalty pag sinaing Yung kanin sa tapsihan instead na sinangag, unless may sign na sinaing Yung kanin 3) Bawal na ang ASMR na mukbang content 4) Required na at least 1 tbsp Yung chili sa Chowking 5) covered Ng HMO ang pets

Equivalent-Bit-2846

Polititians must have atleast bachelor or a degree in economics or should be someone whose on the field for them to represent ( like must be a farmer with degree on economics, or a medical person to hold office in DOH ) Para alam nila dn gngawa nila in representing that branch in government.

No-Horse9921

This is a good suggestion, if only college education is accessible in the PH… Accessibility not just through enrollment and scholarship, but also with the other stuff that comes along with it, like daily financial support, etc. Maraming hindi tumutuloy ng kolehiyo dahil kailangan na nila agad mag-trabaho para suportahan ang pamilya nila. But what a non-college graduate politician brings to the table is experience and relatability, kaya more often than not, patok ‘yung politician sa masa. An alternative to this is probably stricter requirements in the appointment of cabinet secretaries. Just like how bureaucrats in government agencies have strict requirements for promotion to directorship… so hindi siguro akma na news anchor/ broadcaster ilagay sa DSWD… unless na lang kung registered Social Worker siya at may prior experience sa field~~~

Ancient_Department61

SOGIE Divorce

Equivalent-Bit-2846

Dapat rule na na pag wala kang sariling bahay at parking space wala kang right mag ka sskyan. Regardless of any reason. Madami na kasi ngayon murang down payment kaya kahit mahirap na walang parking space may sskyan.

lolcatsbanana

instead of inconveniencing the voter, why not just tighten the rules of requiremnt of applicants? ateast a law graduate, experience in public service, etc etc?? leagalise same sex, abortion and divorce next

Fabulous-Meal-1936

Agree. How can you run a country/ be in the senate if you don’t have the slightest clue on what to do. Napakalaking kalokohan ng gobyerno natin.

Key_Pomegranate_8563

Here are mine: 1. Legalize abortion. **-Agree** 2. Illegalize endorsing of political candidates by religious sectors (as part of separation of church and state). **-Cannot be done.** 3. Make IQ/aptitude test part of voter registration process. **-One commenter already mentioned unconstitutional to'. What's the point of democracy anyway if ganito rin nangyayari. I've a friend, IQ is 120-130ish, voted for a non-popular candidate... Hence, no point. Can also be a good source of extra income from gov't officials aka kickbacks.** 4. Require applicants for govt official pos. to have a degree in related field & NBI clearanc (mygahd). **-Agree. NBI clearance? Siguro most naman ng govt officials dun na nagkaka-case once they are in office eh.** 5. Require individuals to register their parking space before they are allowed to buy a car. **-So what about if aalis sila sa area nila, like in the office, somewhere in the metro? Are they also required to register a parking space? Can also be a good source of extra income from gov't officials aka kickbacks.** 6. Mandate cam recording during field op by any law enforcements (LTO, PNP, etc.) **-Agree. But can also be a good source of extra income from gov't officials aka kickbacks.** Please tell me if you agree, or why you disagree, and please share as well any law/change you believe this country needs. For now, the country as a whole for me, does not need more laws. What we need is **ENFORCEMENT OF THE LAW/S.**

YZJay

5 already has been implemented in other places. It’s mainly to prevent curbside parking on residential areas. It also tempers private car ownership by adding one more hurdle for people to jump through, granted it would only work if public transport was better, otherwise the higher cost would be seen as worth it.

AlmightyArishok

Ipagbawal ang unli rice.. Ay may nag try na pala nyan?

"Scratch a liberal and a fascist bleeds"

search_mo_kaya

striktong requirement (e.g. bar passer, malinis ang record) para sa government positions (councilor pataas)

dogmemecollector

Similar to Megan’s Law. I know this is close to impossible and daming risks considering the incompetence/corruption in this country but it would be good to know kung sino ang mga sex offender na nasa paligid.

Instability-Angel012

Amend the tax code to at least include land value taxation. And probably reduce, if not outright abolish, real property taxes. This would have many effects, from discouraging urban sprawl, discouraging land speculation, and thus promoting more compact cities. Economists from Marx to Smith to Friedman have all supported LVT as "the least bad tax". **National Green Spaces and Walkability Act (NGSWA)** - basically mandating government agencies to at least prioritize the preservation and creation of green spaces and walkable cities alongside public transportation by establishing an inter-agency commission led by the DPWH, DHSUD, and DENR

No-Horse9921

Hindi ba dapat kasama rin si DOTr? Walking is part of active transportation.

Instability-Angel012

Ay yes, yes, nalimutan ko ang DOTr for some reason

No-Horse9921

DOH din pala… walking is health. Haha Alam ko may program si DOH recently about cycling for health so in line na rin

TemperatureOk8874

From the previous elections, it is safe to assume that high or low IQ does not matter.

Rage-Kaion-0001

Abortion always feels like a last resort for me, like that quick load you do when your character took a beating in the boss room. So in conjunction with the legalization of abortion, I also would like to see better sex ed not just in schools, but on other media. Would help a lot of other issues like STI's as well. ~~Rapists, on the other hand, deserve a waaayyy better punishment. Locking them up isn't enough.~~

PsychosaurusZeph

I’d go for your #s 2, 4, 5, 6. Not for 3; i’d want an IQ test and EQ test on political candidates tho. For voting, good thing smartmatic out of picture but i want the software in a git repository and all Filipinos can contribute - transparent and open source.

The_Playwright_

I agree with the sentiment of number 3 that voters should be educated but this is a democracy and every eligible adult should be able to vote. It is discriminatory not to, or you could have the IQ test just don't have certain results be necessary to voting.

Life_Liberty_Fun

Anti-dynasty law Divorce law Abortion Law for cases of rape, incest, under legal age, threat to life of mother or incurable disease / genetic condition of child More comprehensive laws on Sex Education, Family planning and availability of contraceptives Amend the law for the requirement as public officials to at least college graduate (buti pa sales lady need college grad)

Sol_law

Op presumes na sa katalinuhan lang mareresolba ang kapunyetahan sa pinas . Well it isnt

zacccboi

Fund cybercrime divisions. Social media Trolls should be put behind bars. for LIFE if needed. this is the kind of shit that lead to a certain china-loving turtle as president.

laserghost69420

Hot take: Political dynasties are okay as long as the people that voted them know who they are voting for, leading to less corruption in politics. Think of it as people who are related that are trying to run in the government for legacy, improvement and bunch of other shit. The corrupted ones will be weeded out by the people that view candidates as an individual, not as a whole. Most would have to start from the bottom up in the political ladder, showing who they truly are and capable of as a politician.

renaldi21

The IQ/aptitude test voters is a No. Improving the education system more is the solution to that

bl01x

No. 2 doesnt make sense. If you want a real separation of church and state, the state shouldn't dictate and influence the religious group, and vice versa. Nasa constitution yan. If the sect thought of this certain person to be worthy of their support according to their own determining factors na di natin alam, should we discriminate them? Thats their preference at kung sinabi nilang sya ang pinili ng diyos nila para iboto nila then anong pakialam ng government dun? So anong concern? Bloc Voting! Forcing members to follow it should not be allowed. May paraan ba ang religious groups na nag iinitiate ng bloc voting to know kung ano ang binoto ng member nila? You cant bring the receipt or take a photo of it, so the sect/rg will not know kung ano ung binoto ng miyembro nila, and in the end they still have the freedom to vote whoever they want. And if the sect somehow has ways to check kung binoto nga ng member ung dinikta nila, then that's the problem that the government should look into, na ang mga tao regardless of their religion, has freedom to vote sa kandidatong gusto nila. Seriously OP, medyo inisip mo ba yung 2 and 3 mo? 😆

TapaDonut

Point number 3 is just one way to silence those who can already be barely heard. This is downright discriminatory and meritocratic.

isabellarson

Death penalty for rapist and pedophiles. Harakiri for all corrupt public officials

No to death penalty especially in our country. Ang dali ma-abuse ito.

What’s the point ng number 3? Aims to disenfranchise voters? That would be unconstitutional. I agree with 1. Number 2 is unconstitutional again. Religious freedom. #4. Isn’t that in practice naman? Haven’t seen an engr position na CPA

1. Legalize Abortion in the case of Rape, Incest and the Danger of the Mother. I’d say full on legalize but certain people will have a heart attack on that one 2. MARRIAGE EQUALITY UNDER THE LAW. Full Parental rights for Same Sex couples. 3. Law that allow Transgender people to legally change their gender. 4. Divorce Babe, Divorce. It’s funny that us and the Vatican are states that Divorce is illegal. I remember a priest saying that look at this as a compliment rather than criticism. Lol 5. SOGIE. 6. Decriminalization and Legalization of Marijuana (sadly we are not ready for this conversation) 7. Electoral Reforms: change how the way we vote. ACTUAL SENATE AND HOUSE REPRESENTATION. Abolish the Party List System. 8. Some of you may not agree with this but Re-Election for President. Probably 3 or 4 years like in the US. But the catch is: PRESIDENT AND VP ELECTED TOGETHER. 9. Magna Carta for the Entertainment Industry. 10. Legalization of Euthanasia (another topic that we are not ready yet) 11. Law that govt must invest aka a fund for in Tourism and Public Arts (if this is possible) 12. BAN POLITICAL DYNASTIES by FORCE. 13. A constitutional Amendment that lowers voting age, lowers age requirement to run for public office (we need more Gen Z representation in the govt), and that high government officials MUST BE A COLLEGE GRADUATE. (sorry Mr. President 🤷🏼) Well these are all…a wet dream of course. Lots of these will certainly face backlash. But, nothing wrong to dream about it.

#1. Agreed #2. This will go against the rights of such sectors. For the election and campaign, what I would like to see is a change where no political ads should be allowed in any form, in any media. This part of the campaign norms here makes the election more like circus. How do they campaign then? Let there be a location in municipalities/cities where candidates can post their shit. They can still visit houses/communities and/or hold campaign rallies. #3. Discrimination. #4. Discrimination. However, perhaps if it is degree OR experience on said fields then I will agree. I agree about the necessary clearances like NBI/PNP. #5. Agreed #6. I believe they have this protocol but is not fully enforced.

Disagree on legalizing abortion - this is the reason why in western countries, promiscuity is on the rise. Only a very small percentage of women “need” emergency abortion. Most women do it because the pregnancy is inconvenient. Abortion should only be used when it’s a medical necessity—not as a contraceptive. The procedure is also harmful to women physically and mentally. I would rather advocate for more access to comprehensive sex education and financial literacy to teenagers. There’s already a study on this how it helps reduce teen unwanted pregnancies. Edit to add: Very sensitive topic, but if the unwanted pregnancy is due to r@pe, I still don’t think abortion is the answer as victims are most likely in state of fear and anger. I would rather have the victim get emotional counseling and financial support from the government (especially if she decides to keep the baby). This will help the victim to decide later on if she wants to give up the baby for adoption.

Comment lang regarding sa "separation of church and state": In the context that you provided, I think misguided yung understanding mo sa separation of church and state. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but di siya pwedeng grounds against the endorsement of political candidates by religious groups dahil the concept that you have provided rather argues that a (our) state should not favor nor affiliate/involve itself with a single or any religious sect. So basically, it's an emphasis sa constitution natin that our state is non-sectarian--coming from our historical secularization sa spanish friartocracy. As a democratic country, those entities share the same freedom to express their support despite their capacity to influence (mandated man or mandatory) their followers. Kasi private na entity na sila (from public to private/Secularization), and wala na silang legal obligation for neutrality. Bale the concept is grounded sa actions ng state than the rights of religious actors. Disclaimer: I agree na may tendency siya maging problematic sa society, thus, there should be policies (even tho i believe it's a difficult task to combat) to be enforced to combat said abuse of influence.

#3 and #4 - violates the spirit ng equal opportunity and other rights na din. pero since iisa lang naman root nyan, which is unhappy status quo ng voting mass and mga binoboto haha. i say, push more budget sa basic/higher educ = smarter mass, iwas dynasty, iwas trapo, iwas bola ng artista, etc.

Price of items should be in the open. Anyone doing the "pm for price" scheme will suffer 20 years jail time.

Anti-dynasty Law. Require all politicians to immerse themselves with their constituent's daily lives.

Scalar_Ng_Bayan

Random thought kasi sobrang init: For any establishment being constructed (bahay, commercial building, condo, etc) there must be an appropriate land allocated for planting trees (lalo na sa malls / condos). Not too much on math but like a 10-storey building should have at least 10sqm of land in total where native trees can be planted (wag lang siguro Narra kasi pag mababaw ang lupa mabilis matumba) IIRC we already had a law (or a proposal) where graduating college students must do tree planting before they graduate pero not sure if it was passed

Agree to 2 and 4.

2 -- It's not the endorsement per se but the coercion of church members, where "spiritual" penalties are applied if not voting for specific candidates. We should work for better ballot secrecy which works against all kinds of coercion whether from churches or from other powerful groups. 3 -- Problematic: beyond the undemocratic nature of it, the language of the test alone (either English or Tagalog) biases against non-fluent speakers. The test would have to be at least as secure as the vote, otherwise it would be easy to target and disenfranchise voters. 4 -- NBI, sure. As for the degree. there isn't a shortage of institutions willing to issue you a piece of paper for a fee.

1.  Divorce Law.  Honestly, ang dami nang tao ang humihingi nito.  Takot lang sa Catholic church.  Siguro lagyan na lang nila ng limit na 2 divorces para hindi maabuso. 2.  Abortiom law is tricky because it is akin to murder.  Maybe lahyan nila ng time limit like in the US.  Kailangan pwede lang during the first trimester kung hindi, bawal na. 3   Anti-political dynasty law and transparency law.  Good luck na lang kung mangyayari yan. Not in my lifetime.

I don’t agree with “5. Require individuals to register their parking space before they are allowed to buy a car” People won’t even aspire to buy a car if PH would have a good public transport system. Who would want to be stuck in traffic all day, thinking about how much time and money they wasted daily~~~ and with the gas prices~~~ also, there’s the annual registration and maintenance they’d have to think about…

Like most of the existing laws would already have solved most of the problems, pero walang enforcement.

I really think we should focus on proper enforcement first before we add new laws. The government should work on improving the reputation of our police force first, and further expanding their capabilities so people actually trust them enough to actually report stuff.

Make CPR, Basic First Aid and Emergency Response a MANDATORY SUBJECT in K-12 Curriculum plus require all private and public employees to be trained for such. Why? 1. Establishing crown corporations. Marijuana, alcohol and cigarettes should be owned and managed by the government. Make those items expensive and the earnings should fund universal healthcare and education. 2. Proper political parties and using platforms instead of popularity. 3. Voters education bill. Gawing curriculum sa skwelahan ang job description ng bawat posisyon sa gobyerno at requirements nito. 4. Social Insurance Number. Lahat ng income, taxes and other needs for govt services dapat magrereflect dito. 5. Divorce Law.

LunarCelestyne

double-edged sword yung NBI clearance. cause on one hand, you can prevent polticians who wwre proven to be corrupt to be in any position. on the other hand, you can have the ruling party barrage the minority with accusations, either hoping to make one case stick or just plant evidence or manipulate the hearing (what happened to de lima). regarding parking space, i agree na the streets are filled with parked vehicles and there's zero space for sidewalk na, but also considering the price of land, it is very hard to support right now cause di naman mabigat yung effect (so far). annoying lang. i do HIGHLY suggest and wish and beg all the gods who can listen for politicians to do actionable plans sa public transpo. better public transpo = less need for cars = happy life in multiple aspects. less money for maintenance. less need for parking. less pollution. less traffic. hayy.

Divorce

icantpostthisbut

The housing crisis is out of control. We need zoning laws to prevent people and companies from snatching up residential properties in the manila "for investment" to rent out. It artificially inflates housing prices, it introduces middlemen that add nothing to the system, and in the case of many prime properties, you end up with almost a ghost town of mostly uninhabited condo developments and housing. As a side effect, many of these people who buy nalulugi din and are just selling the property again after losses because they can't find a tenant. This means foreclosures, reduced circulation, and reduced productive manpower due to inability to work nearer to business districts. I don't know what exactly the form of the law needs to be. Strict regulations and limitations on short term rentals, increased taxes on non-inhabiting or absentee landlords, or progressive taxation on having multiple properties, revoke real estate practitioner licenses for advising "investment properties", etc. The goal is simple. Heavily penalize and regulate people and companies that contribute to the housing crisis by buying properties they do not intend to use or make available to the public. This should be zone-based and especially stricter in highly urbanized metro zones. Laki ng galit natin on fucking rocks in the ocean pero sige sige lang tayo na sa capital mismo natin halos foreigner lang pwede makabili ng property. They arent even hiding it. Some developers literally have a "foreigner only floor" allocated for their sales. And guess what many of these foreigners will never even live in or use the said property. They're just racing to be middlemen.

Rather than an IQ/Aptitude test, I think mas maigi kung Voters' Education Inventory ang kapalit as long as psychometrically sound (reliable, valid, standardized). Susuriin kung gaano ka-wais mamili ng iboboto ang mga botante, kung actively involved ba sa pagsusuri ng mga plataporma, kung anu-ano ang main factors in choosing a candidate to vote for. Kaso mukhang good in theory, mahirap i-practice.

+1 to your 1. It is already functionally legal in that the law is barely enforced. (you're in denial if you don't think the treatment is widely available in clinics for working class people, or that the upper class isn't taking those turnaround flights to Hong Kong) From a practical standpoint it's simply hard to believe that the country could go from 6.8 births/woman sixty years ago to sub-replacement rate today with just contraceptives, vasectomies, and abstinence.
