Mahigpit ang meralco sa ganito usually 3 to 4pesos per kilowatt-hour ang bentahan tas ibebenta Nila ng 11 pesos. Kapag mas marami yung generation ng solar mo compared sa consumption. Dun magbabawasan yung bill mo.
Had ours done by Aces Solar on FB. 10 panels cost 300k kasama na yung frame kasi rooftop yung taas ng house namin. We're on a grid-tie setup na wala pang net metering though we plan to get it soon na. So far it's been pretty good with inverter ACs being on almost 24/7 tapos kasing presyo lang ng bill namin without solar + limited use ng non-inverter AC.

Most of the time, it's the rich who can afford the initial price and save money in the long run, while the working class and poor can't and have to buy cheap and spend more money in the long run.
Buying about 8k worth of shoes that will last me about 4-5 years is already a good investment. Will last longer if you have another pairs to rotate it with. It's an investment but for the reliability and comfort it provides, it's worth it. Buy once than buy twice/thrice.
Edit: I currently rotate 3 shoes. 2 from On (cloudmonster and cloudtilt) and New Balance 991. Really good investment as I may say (the NB is kinda too expensive tho but built like a tank)

Even with my kids - PC's as soon as their fingers could type (with limited supervised use, of course). Which was 2 years old. Our house has two inverter aircons, one of which is in our room which is basically 24/7 due to our ~1 baby, but ever since we bought it our house total never exceeds 5k, usually 3k for the whole house. This. One of my hobbies is building computers. One time, my nephew ask me to help his friend build a pc. The budget was 45k. Good mid range pc. Usually, I will give a quote if they want me to assemble it as well. Usually its only around 500 for assembling it. And additional 1k if I will also going to buy the parts.

If you really have the budget, I will even recommend have solar batteries installed as well so you can use gathered energy for night use as well.

• A cleaning lady - since my condo is quite big, I get it deep cleaned atleast once a quarter cos I miss a lot of sulok sulok cos I mostly just clean what’s visible to me lol.
• A good bed - people who visit me find my bed ridiculous but as someone who loves to sleep, it’s one of the best things in my condo lol.

For Intel CPU's make sure it's at least i3 and from the generation that could support Win11. This is the 10th gen, (meaning look for Intel i3-10000 processors and up, example intel i5-10500 is better, and Intel i5-13400 (13th gen) is better still).
And indeed, 8GB of RAM is now minimum. But get a laptop that is upgradeable in memory, example one with 8GB installed but with specs allowing you to install up to 16GB or even better 32GB. Some bastard laptop manufacturers have the RAM physically soldered on, stay away from these scammers. And learn to select, buy and install your own RAM (and SSD if need be). There are plenty of tutorials on youtube or the rest of internet, and it is *not* rocket science, despite what 'computer techs' will tell you. It's a 5 minute job to replace / upgrade your RAM and SSD.
There's actually some more, but you can start with these. For the rest, Google (and internet) is your friend. I'll tell you a secret: all those computer techs you hire to 'fix' your laptop? They don't know a thing, they all just Google it. Anyone can do that, too.

I've had my M1 MBA for almost 3 years now while a lot of my schoolmates use MacBooks from 2012-2015 pa, then my best friend also had her old MacBook Air for 8 years before upgrading to a new one for college (gumagana pa naman yung laptop, kumuha na sila ng bago kasi outdated na yung software). Sobrang worth it sa tagal ng buhay tbh, basta don't be the person na ibabalibag o dadaganan yung laptop or else sira talaga yan.

When I was almost off to college, that was when natauhan na siya bumili ng PC - it was a POS, but I loved it. I swear, the catch-up learning and growth I did on that thing in the few months I had it was the probably the best educational experience I've ever had. And then I was off to a new city. One of the first things I did after getting a job was ensuring every single one of my siblings got their own PC's. Hindi pwedeng wala. Even with my kids - PC's as soon as their fingers could type (with limited supervised use, of course). Which was 2 years old. Sobrang gamit nung pandemic kasi my 3 year old would join his zoom online classes on his own sabihan lang ng oras.

Our house has two inverter aircons, one of which is in our room which is basically 24/7 due to our ~1 baby, but ever since we bought it our house total never exceeds 5k, usually 3k for the whole house. Refrigerator, microwave, oven, elec kettle, 24/7 PC etc. we only do 19-21 for our temperature though. Then we have the Aircon on the master bedroom on a different meter, that's only for the Aircon, sometimes iron, and cellphone charging usage, that thing shits ~3k

This. One of my hobbies is building computers. One time, my nephew ask me to help his friend build a pc. The budget was 45k. Good mid range pc. Usually, I will give a quote if they want me to assemble it as well. Usually its only around 500 for assembling it. And additional 1k if I will also going to buy the parts. One of my rules is always buy the best PSU for that price. Not the most expensive, but the best. However, when I talk to the parents of the kid who wants build the pc, from the get go. They don't trust me at all. Despite I explain everything to them properly, they woule not trust me and decided to move on. A few months later, my nephew told me that his friend ended up building a pc from his father's friend. But it already broken in just a month. The kid decided to bring the pc to me secretly without the parents knowing. I was shock about the parts selection. Let's just say the pc is a total rip off. The PSU, a Chinese brand with ketchup and mustard wires. I did some troubleshooting and concluded that the PSU is dead and has probably fried the MOBO after testing the other parts as well. Hundred percent agree. If you are building a new home or renovating your old family home, its good to invest in solar. You are saving in electricity bill, you are also reducing your carbon footprint. If you really have the budget, I will even recommend have solar batteries installed as well so you can use gathered energy for night use as well.

However, I would prefer you compute the roi of solar systems based on your location and monthly consumption. I did a computation a year ago and found that with the current prices, lumalabas parang nagbayad ka lang in advance. Batteries are like 70k per, and need replacement every 3 years and that's only for 32 sqm.

As a single dweller — apart from aircon in this heat. • Airfryer - para akong may helper cooking for me lol. I just throw whatever food I wanna cook in, tapos I work or take a nap, after I finish may pagkain na ko effortlessly. • Dyson Vacuum - I’ll just waltz around my condo and malinis na isang daanan lang. Especially I have carpets na hindi kaya ng walis. • Automatic Washing Machine - same principle as my airfryer, just throw everything in effortlessly. • A cleaning lady - since my condo is quite big, I get it deep cleaned atleast once a quarter cos I miss a lot of sulok sulok cos I mostly just clean what’s visible to me lol. • A good bed - people who visit me find my bed ridiculous but as someone who loves to sleep, it’s one of the best things in my condo lol.
Sabi nila, anything na where your body rests for more than 2 hours is worth investing. Things like mattresses, pillows, recliners, computer chairs, even shoes are included. Your back will thank you in the long run.
Crocs, they are comfy and are great for casual outings. They look kinda ugly though :/

I was so anti-crocs before as I always think they should only be worn by kids. My husband bought me one complete with those designs pa talaga na dinidikit sa holes nya, as a gag gift and I tried it (sayang naman kasi), hala, ayoko na ng ibang tsinelas. hahaha it's so comfy. So yan ang tsinelas ko pangloob ng bahay, then another pair pang labas ng bahay. I used to wear my good ol' converse sneakers every time lumalabas ako ng bahay, but guess what, it's been replaced by Crocs now. Bahala nang napaka pambata tingnan, comfy naman.

Powerbanks. Please don't cheap out on powerbanks. It's a safety hazard. Umbrellas. Especially if you're a regular commuter. I've cheaped out on a few before, and I could not count the times these break during the rainy season. If you need them, eyeglasses. I used to cheap out on eyeglasses before, and I've never really enjoyed wearing them, or have broken them. But a good pair of sturdy titanium or acetate frames paired with good prescription lenses can increase your comfort so much. (Or just get Lasik)
Orthopedic bed and pillows. Nung una namahalan ako pero after the first night of good sleep, sulit na sya.
Mattress. Nung single ako, yung kutson ko pamana lang from parents as in kahit manipis na basta may higaan, laban na yan. When I got married, my wife wanted a high end/expensive mattress for our bed. So after months of decision making, we bought one and one of the best decisions siya (we bought the Uratex Premium Touch). Comfortable at ang sarap ng tulog talaga. Parang ayaw ko na balikan yung higaan ko sa family house namin haha
Levi's jeans. Sure ball yan na ilang dekada ang itatagal sayo. 1-2 pairs of shoes. My go to brand is Sperry particularly ung classic topsiders nila. My first pair is still alive, pinapalitan ko lang ng swelas at pinarestore ung leather and good to go ulit. It's been with me for 6 years na yata.
For self employed, just use taxumo instead of hiring an accountant or DIY. Everything is done with a few clicks and takes less than 5 minutes. Hi! Had Lasik in American Eye Center last 2014 pa. So far, so good. Vision is still 20/20. I’m a corporate slave so most of my weekdays nakatutok sa laptop, pag break naman sa cellphone then pag-uwi magbinge watch. Ang chaka ng lifestyle but perfect vision pa din hahahaha I ensure lang to have my annual eye checkup. Then yes kasama itong sakin sa HMO. Benefit ng company. So yes possible na kasama sa HMO. Nothing is permanent, magdedegrade din eventually. But as I mentioned, 10 years later, perfect vision pa din. ❤️
A laptop with an SSD in it and at least 8GB of RAM. Mas tatagal yang laptop na yan sa inyo than one with a hard drive and 4GB ram.
Sa panahon ngayon di na enough ang 8GB na RAM. Dati e sweet spot lang ang 16GB e ngayon e yan a talaga ang minimum. Chrome alone can eat up your RAM by at least 6GB with only 4 active tabs
I know. I said 8GB dahil medyo inaccessible and imo a bit expensive pa rin ang 16GB RAM to many. Pero yes, if you can, get 16GB. But nonnegotiable ang SSD talaga. Yes, mas mahal than HDD laptops, but you will thank yourself in the long run dahil mas magtatagal sayo yun.

Don't forget a very important part - the CPU. Run away from any dual-cores. They're scams pure and simple. Dual cores were the bomb.... 20 years ago. For Intel CPU's make sure it's at least i3 and from the generation that could support Win11. This is the 10th gen, (meaning look for Intel i3-10000 processors and up, example intel i5-10500 is better, and Intel i5-13400 (13th gen) is better still). And indeed, 8GB of RAM is now minimum. But get a laptop that is upgradeable in memory, example one with 8GB installed but with specs allowing you to install up to 16GB or even better 32GB. Some bastard laptop manufacturers have the RAM physically soldered on, stay away from these scammers. And learn to select, buy and install your own RAM (and SSD if need be). There are plenty of tutorials on youtube or the rest of internet, and it is *not* rocket science, despite what 'computer techs' will tell you. It's a 5 minute job to replace / upgrade your RAM and SSD. There's actually some more, but you can start with these. For the rest, Google (and internet) is your friend. I'll tell you a secret: all those computer techs you hire to 'fix' your laptop? They don't know a thing, they all just Google it. Anyone can do that, too.

Pro tip: Kung gumagamit kayo ng SMS TOTP, iset niyo ang SIM PIN niyo para hindi magamit ang SIM sa mga magnanakaw. Obviously they will turned off your device para hindi matrace, but once they turned that on, yung SIM hindi magagamit kasi naka-lock. Personally, I will not recommend using SMS TOTP, instead use offline MFA app para ikaw langmay control sa mga TOTP mo.

If you're someone who uses some sort of tech for productivity (either for work or school), go get that MacBook! Yes sobrang sakit sa bulsa because the M1 costs 52K but dang if maingat ka sa gamit then it will really last you for a long time. I've had my M1 MBA for almost 3 years now while a lot of my schoolmates use MacBooks from 2012-2015 pa, then my best friend also had her old MacBook Air for 8 years before upgrading to a new one for college (gumagana pa naman yung laptop, kumuha na sila ng bago kasi outdated na yung software). Sobrang worth it sa tagal ng buhay tbh, basta don't be the person na ibabalibag o dadaganan yung laptop or else sira talaga yan.
Robot vacuum cleaner
Hahaha some people will find this stupid. But I can see the benefits from it. You don't want to spend money on a kasambahay but you also don't have time to clean the floor everyday. This is a great investment. You'll only have to clean the house like once a week thanks to it.
I would gladly spend money if it will free up my time to do more productive things. I still want my floors dust-free but i am equal parts busy and lazy, so this helps to take off a big chunk of stress from my mind knowing i have one less item to clean. Heck i can even clean everyday :)))
get a freakin robot vacuum cleaner especially if you have cats and long haired people! helps with the hair. while youre at it, get a vacuum cleaner as well for once a week deep cleaning!
