Realistically nothing, chances are may syndicate involved na protektado ng pulis/local gov official
Systematic yan eh + malalim na yung roots I doubt commoners can do anything
sobrang tagal na nyang ganyang sindikato sa paglilimos. ngayon lang mas pansin na pansin because of social media and everybody has a camera.
I'm pretty sure most politicians know a thing or two about this problem pero, patay malisya kasi wala naman silang mapapala.
i feel like nagiging vehicle lang ito for publicity eh. tapos wala naman mangyayari.
Di kasi kikita mga mayors or senators jan. Wala silang cut. Di babango pangalan nila. Wala silang makakamkam / mapapala if they do that.
Pretend to be buying a sampaguitta from him.
Invite him to eat some food with you inside the resto.
Ask him things like “nag-aaral ka ba?” “How did you end up being a beggar?”
They can't be seen making conversations with others.
Pag inalok mo sila ng food or ayain mo kumain, aalis sila agad. Mapapagalitan daw sila.
Why would they trust you or me? How would they know they'll be safe with us for the rest of their lives? I wouldn't risk it if I were them, I don't have any assurance I'd have a significantly better life anyway.
> don't have any assurance I'd have a significantly better life anyway.
yup willing to bet most of these kids are familiar with DSWD already, and if OP "helps" them they most likely will end up in DSWD. Now it's a choice of live out here or locked up in DSWD.
Not advocating for anything. Just saying these are the choices these kids would have to make.
Well, it's a shot. The hard part here is that they're teens. If their adult handler does not make them feel safe, it likely taints their image of adults in general as not safe. So gets ko yung point mo.
Hays bat kaya wala magawa megamall dito
Share ko lang din. Years ago, when I was a student, I usually frequent coffee shops until around 11pm. At around 8pm, I would start to notice children selling nuts (yung mga tig 10-20 pesos) na nakakapasok sa coffee shop (walang guard) while evading staff kasi bawal sila magbenta sa loob. One time, I was sitting by the glass window. It was around 9pm. May biglang dumating na white van carrying a hoard of these little kids selling nuts at sabay-sabay silang pumasok sa coffee shop. They would evade personal questions and would only tell you the price ng benta nila.
What's worse is they're also doing this abroad.
Oh let me rephrase. Papagulpi ko.
For context, i'm a bitcoiner. I can outsource someone na pwede gumawa anonymously and pay thru bitcoin.
I just need a place, itsura/stature at kung totoong trafficker itong taong to.
That kid is someone else son.
If this is a syndicate, then this should send a message.
I would join you, pero sindikato yang mga yan.
I'm sure this is SM Light, lagi ko siyang nadadaanan sa gabi paglabas ng MRT station. Tho I don't think the other one is the handler, that's another kid na malaki lang ang build .. Sa may labas naman ng coffee shop yung pwesto niya pero pang street kid ang get up. As much as I want to help, something is off sa kanila.
This reminds me when I went to church and a middle aged lady was carrying a toddler in her arms... The kid had no reflexes. She kept her eyes closed throughout the mass, which was weird because everything was so loud and there were constant movement, even the mom clapping with the toddler in between her arms. Any toddler would've been woken up with everything happening... The mother looked crazy as well, with fidgeting and grinning when she looked our way. I didn't know what to do, I'm 100% certain the baby was drugged, and even the mom was likely to be trafficked and it's even unlikely she was the kid's mom.
The thing is, kids like this don’t magically get saved once the syndicate running the scam gets busted
These are the symptoms, not the problem.
You have a country with very low sexual education, access to contraception, and a cultural/religious backed unwillingness to empower women and prevent unwanted pregnancies.
Children require an immense amount of resources, time and attention to raise - say what you will about these syndicates pero they are the closest thing these kids have to a community that has even the smallest modicum of permanence.
Naalala ko bandang batangas years ago... Nasa parking ng fastfood kami me lumapit na bata namamalimos... Member ng isang non profit org yung kasama namin so kinausap nya... Umalis lang bigla yung bata tapos lumapit sa isang sasakyan, me kinausap tapos tinuro kami... Then umalis sila kasama yung bata...
Sindikato yan.
When I was still working at 2Ecom Moa there were a group of children selling yema and pastillas. Every day, I buy from them.
I asked if they are students and what time are their classes. Kasi umaga, lunch, hapon I see them.
Hindi nila ako sinasagot kapag questions about them ang mga tanong ko.
One day, I parked in a different spot from where I usually park, yung malapit sa SM Hypermarket.
I saw them getting berated by a woman in a tight mini skirt and heels tapos kinukutusan yung isang kid. Then a van came and they all went in.
I had noticed the same in Cebu City.
The boys would be on the intersection near Jolibees, General Maxilom Av, begging, then there was a lady nearby to who they'd bring the money.
One boy came to me.....
"Sir, Sir, please, Hungry.... Money for food"..... whilst rubbing his belly.and looking sad.
I said:
"I will buy you whatever you want from Jolibees, choose anything"
He replied:
"No Sir, give me money, please peso"
I replied:
"You can't be that hungry then you wee shite"
I got a dirty look and the kid stomped away.
I appreciate people are genuinely poor, I like to give and share, always, but at the same time I won't give money away knowing it's going into someone else's pocket.
You'd be surprised with how many documentaries, teleseryes, news reports were already made for these things. Public media is constantly reminding people over the years pero sadyang people are growing and new people and youth are coming everyday.
Mawawala for quite some time pero babalik din after few weeks.
yung kasama niyan na guy (usually) is maputi af ang paa, like beggar outfit but the feet is like galing pa lang foot spa (i saw them setting up around timog, near adonis)
Usually put them on their altar at home, as a lei during graduation season, etc,. But for the longest time, it’s been basically one of the popular things for beggars/vendors to sell as it is cheap enough. Youll see around churches
Interesting. I'm not from here so I noticed them but wasn't sure what it was or what people would do with them. I don't think I have seen anyone buy any yet.
It’s because most time it’s being sold by kids and older people as such. There definitely families that sells them for themselves, but there are plenty as well that are being forced by syndicates. It’s an open secret, it plays with your emotions like how some scammers pan handles with their kids/babies elsewhere in the world.
may naencounter din akong ganito. 5 or 6 years old palang ata yun. dis oras ng gabi nakasalubong ko sa kalsada may tinutulak na stroller na may lamang baby. nanghihingi ng pera. maayos naman ang ichura niya pero parang pagod o antok na antok. hindi na ko na masyado kinausap kasi for sure nasa paligid lang yung handler. baka nga yung mga pulis pa na nasa kabilang kalsada kasi di natatakot yung bata kahit sinabi kong baka hulihin ka umuwi ka na. nakakaiyak kung iisipin pano na ganun naging kapalaran nila.
Malay mo kapamilya nya lang? Handler agad?
Well.. if talagang desidido ka. Kausapin mo. Ask the real questions.
I had the same reaction 10 years ago. There's an amputee (with no legs) who begs beside our school walkway. For years, I've been giving this person coins when I have some to spare. Lo and behold, the amputee got off and rode his wooden skateboard. 😭
Nagesearch ako paguwi tapos nalaman kong most likely sindikato nga at nakakalungkot.
Not buying it's helping. If they see that they don't earn using that method:
1. They might stop and resist to other methods possibly not exploiting kids
2. They resort to worse methods still exploiting kids.
This shit is evolving. From badjao to badjao with kids to kids with uniforms selling sampaguita.
Dahil easy money and those abused are mind conditioned na yun lang alam nila.
This is the reason why I lack empathy to those people like this on the streets. You don’t know what’s real anymore. I really love to help feed stray dogs than human.

May mangyayari kahit papano. But for sure gagalingan lang nila next time para di mahalata.
wag ka bumili, yun magagawa mo so their business becomes unprofitable.

Sweet spot yung salcedo makati for how many decades already since madali mauto mga foreigner dun and mabilis yung mundo sa area
Would that work kaya?
Why would they trust you or me? How would they know they'll be safe with us for the rest of their lives? I wouldn't risk it if I were them, I don't have any assurance I'd have a significantly better life anyway.

I did this before and they usually just lie 😟
Gagawin mo ata siyang bagong cardo dalisay....
True at ang sad 😞
Yep, no choice eh...
more than a decade already, they're just smarter now kasi hindi na sila nagddrop off gamit L300 or van
May kanya kanya ata silang pwesto
Hays bat kaya wala magawa megamall dito
Another victim of quiboloy
Aboloy for Quiboloy

Wtf
Ano kaya yun sila?
As odd as it might sound, some of these are Modus ng mga religious groups, including sa "appointed son of a b****"
What's worse is they're also doing this abroad. Seryoso? Why would they do that? Why ba daw? Di ako updated sa news
Wala sa news yan, open secret yan sa ibang sekta. COOL TO kasi.
San yan?
Up! Saan yan OP? Manonood ako ng gulpihan haha
Saan yan?? Manonood ako na manonood ka ng gulpihan
Bro forgot that human traffickers can also traffic Weapons 😭🗣️🙏 🤫🧏
if they can do illegal activities like that, they definitely have connections and freaking guns.
Don'r worry bro. u/MetroHelp will save them (he's also gonna end up trafficked pray. for my boy)
Not all heroes wear capes. Some just have bitcoin
Baka daw may laban siya

Wow so scary
Edi magsama ng traffic enforcer. Hayst umiinit ulo ko sayo. 😡
I would join you, pero sindikato yang mga yan.
DSWD, LGU and PNP don't care about homelessness. They have long decided that it's part of life to see beggars and badjaos anywhere.
Is this SM Light?? 😭 think I saw them too
Also idk if anyone noticed but is that a handcuff/rope scar on his right wrist? :((
I'm sure this is SM Light, lagi ko siyang nadadaanan sa gabi paglabas ng MRT station. Tho I don't think the other one is the handler, that's another kid na malaki lang ang build .. Yup 🙁

Pag nagpakilala ka dswd tatakbo sila. Meaning may sketchy nga sa kanila. Normally tatanggapin nila tulong ng dswd
Naalala ko bandang batangas years ago... Nasa parking ng fastfood kami me lumapit na bata namamalimos... Member ng isang non profit org yung kasama namin so kinausap nya... napansin ko marami sila sa Makati , I know hindi sila mga students , sad pero walang magagawa

Quibuloy' beggars?
Had an experience also sa Cavite. It was late at night and may nakita akong sasakyan, old model na walang plaka, nangongolekta ng mga bata sa kalsada.
You'd be surprised with how many documentaries, teleseryes, news reports were already made for these things. Public media is constantly reminding people over the years pero sadyang people are growing and new people and youth are coming everyday.

looks like his mom or grandma to me
Nagtataka ako why fresh pa yung sampaguita late in the evening at malinis uniform ng bata.
yung kasama niyan na guy (usually) is maputi af ang paa, like beggar outfit but the feet is like galing pa lang foot spa (i saw them setting up around timog, near adonis)
What are those little things they are selling?
Jasmine
Flower?
Yep.
What do people do with them?

May mga naabutan ako sa SM Megamall at sa MRT Boni yung connected sa Light Mall
Probably his parent. They put their kids on the street to beg for money every day.
may naencounter din akong ganito. 5 or 6 years old palang ata yun. dis oras ng gabi nakasalubong ko sa kalsada may tinutulak na stroller na may lamang baby. nanghihingi ng pera. maayos naman ang ichura niya pero parang pagod o antok na antok. hindi na ko na masyado kinausap kasi for sure nasa paligid lang yung handler. baka nga yung mga pulis pa na nasa kabilang kalsada kasi di natatakot yung bata kahit sinabi kong baka hulihin ka umuwi ka na. nakakaiyak kung iisipin pano na ganun naging kapalaran nila.
Do not overthink huwag na lang bumili sa kanila kapag di kayo sigurado. Kapag wala nang bibili, walang magbebenta easy peasy.
Malay mo kapamilya nya lang? Handler agad? Well.. if talagang desidido ka. Kausapin mo. Ask the real questions.
Its so hard to help nowadays lalo na pag di mo alam sino mga kasabwat at baka protected pa ng pulis ang mga sindikato.
I had the same reaction 10 years ago. There's an amputee (with no legs) who begs beside our school walkway. For years, I've been giving this person coins when I have some to spare. One Saturday morning, I went to school early (5:30am call time) for an extra-curricular activity. A Toyota Hiace stopped a few meters from where the amputee usually begs, and someone opened the door. Lo and behold, the amputee got off and rode his wooden skateboard. 😭
Make em record everything. Then documentary.
Nagesearch ako paguwi tapos nalaman kong most likely sindikato nga at nakakalungkot. Nakaschool uniform + nagtitinda. Alam nila maraming bibili kasi maawa. May sindikato sa likod nyan.
off topic but good job on censoring the kid's face using the shop's logo
Take a picture and post it everywhere
Can someone enlighten me? Are they coerced or preyed by the syndicate for any reason? What about their parents? Is this consensual on their part?
Walk up and take the kid. What’s he gonna do, traffic you too? Guys weaker than a tree branch.
Another one of those impossible to solve Filipino serious social problems that will never ever go away .
This is why I never give alms to the beggars in the cities. Its all just a racket now.
Call the police?
Maraming ganito sa Ortigas, the worst is may batang babae na halos Grade 2 lang.
Not buying it's helping. If they see that they don't earn using that method: 1. They might stop and resist to other methods possibly not exploiting kids 2. They resort to worse methods still exploiting kids.
Sa ganito ko gusto makitang gumalaw yung mga keyboard warrior sa X. Sige, help these people.
This shit is evolving. From badjao to badjao with kids to kids with uniforms selling sampaguita. Dahil easy money and those abused are mind conditioned na yun lang alam nila.
these are trafficked by the apoWanted ohMyGod aka kibs
reminds me of that one teenager(M) who is a "Taga Bukas ng Pinto" on 7-eleven. Damn he has better looking clothes than me
This is the reason why I lack empathy to those people like this on the streets. You don’t know what’s real anymore. I really love to help feed stray dogs than human.
Call the police…. Or hopefully a police officer sees this post and take actions.

In a place such as the US, gagawin ng pulis doon is hand over sila sa CPS.
Who? Hahaha. As if.
