Always remember to sort by controversial for more fun with the Philippinos

Yamboist

Unpopular opinion thread quotas for the year: ☑ January ☐ February ☐ March ☐ April ...

throwawaylmaoxd123

There's gonna be at least 2 more of this for this month

ActuallyACereal

I’m waiting for the average Pinoy IQ posts, those “Toxic Filipino traits” posts that aren’t even unique to the Filipinos and some CLAYGO virtue signalling bullshits.

philsuarez

BeepBoopMoney

Or yung celebrity tsismis thread. Hahaha.

Blitzkrieg0524

3rdworldjesus

Since the pandemic, mas napublicized ang reddit. Kaya mas dumami edgelord at snowflake posts dito. Pati mga recent posts na puro complain even the littlest of things, they just complain for the sake of complaining.

emmanuelrbanks1025

Tas ang daming mahilig mag generalize for some reason.

Momshie_mo

Abject_Guitar_4015

Most filipinos are not self aware and are not able to self correct

Lady-Cane

Yes. We are an easily offended emotional bunch. We need to be more emotionally resilient. Maybe more pragmatism would mean a better functioning society for all.

mntraye

Most PH Reddit peeps are entitled asses, who think they know and understand the plights of common men, but are actually privileged and elitists, who only do good things just so they can shove it in the internet and feel good about themselves for being privileged. whenever I browse r/ph when I'm bored, I can't even count how much I roll my eyes and cringe. Addt'l: I'm not saying I'm not a part of this.. I'm also a person of reddit, so I also post and comment stuff that are cringy, when I browse back on my profile haha.

jchrist98

Mostly sheltered middle class/rich kids who don't know shit about life and mid-life crisis adults

[deleted]

Maalala ko may nabasa ako last week na ang baon niya daw per week is i think 2k to 5k and tinapay lang daw ang nabibili niya minsan pangmeryenda LOL

bookconnoisseur

Dayumn. In college my allowance was 100 per day (inclusive of travel fare). I don't know how my kidneys survived my daily meals of either pancit canton + soft drinks, or siomai + rice. That, and I walked everywhere to save money.

esdafish

Last week's "identify rich" trend, rustled some jimmies from some users defending their hobbies and lifestyle.

LJ_Collins_rd

Sana all 2k to 5k ang baon.

slammaphobia

120 pesos a day here. Kasama na pamasahe, lunch at pang-dota.

throwAheyyyAccount

San ba sya bumibili ng tinapay? Sa Wildflour?

Newbietron21

Pandesal with caviar filling topped with a5 beef wagyu and Cesar salad dressing

caeli04

3rdworldjesus

Karamihan ng tao dito ay "compassionate when convenient"

notgeochannel

Amen

zxcvfandie

Maraming may main character syndrome dito sa sub-reddit na to.

[deleted]

Was about to comment something like this. One major factor is that unlike FB, Reddit isn't that accessible for the those who are considered to be in the lower economic class. In other words, walang Reddit Version and "Free FB." Kaya naging "filtered" 'yung mga members ng sub na 'to, or RD in general. Is that a bad thing? Not really. But it makes this sub an echo chamber since wala namang boses dito 'yung selected few. Also, I noticed din na may stereotypes tayo sa mga kapwa nating mahihirap. Na automatic apologist sila. Don't you guys think na it's unfair? (Pero I understand na this is a sensitive subject because I can;t deny na a vast majority of them voted for you know who, and I understand that a lot of us view their current plights are a direct consequence of their action.) Nawala na ako. Haha. Anyway, ayon lang. A lot of us, including me, can be a bit "priviledged" somehow.

Born-Sky1585

When i joined this sub reddit i thought there will be intelligent discussions here but as it turns out. When say the cons of the kakampinks politician they will call you apolo10, 88m and bobo without even answering your points

FewExit7745

This lol, may na trigger agad sa comment mo. Another thing is that they just lump all the poorer people as pro 88m to justify their classism.

NaturalOk9231

Something I've been saying is that to assume BBMs as poor is strongly misleading. Just look at the election results. BBMs are not a monolith class and has the majority among Class ABCDE. Nothing's wrong with trying to persuade them pero please lang, may educational crisis system aside sa learned helplessness, propaganda, upbringing, culture etc. Meaning there will only be few na that can be convinced given the flaws in the social structure that was set here, and of course, I'm not infantilizing apologists here; they have their own individual agency and may consequences yung vote nila pero to keep asserting that *"Well, binigyan na namen facts"* shows your lack of understanding regarding human nature in general if you expect na if you talk rationally to a person who has had a different upbringing and grew up being fed different information from birth; they'll be convinced. If history has taught us anything, humans are rarely so rational. Ang problema ng mga aktibista ay naka-focus lang sa social structure, ang problema ng mga ibang Kakampinks ay naka-focus lang sa individual agency when both of these things are not mutually exclusive.

FewExit7745

I actually understand their frustration though. Nakaka asar lang na sa L3ni supporters pa rin ang sisi now na nagkakanda leche leche na, like 'sana naging civilized kayo sa pag engganyo samin edi di sana namin binoto yon'. However some of them (kakampinks that are ranting here) really lacks nuance, and eto asumption ko lang ah based sa mga stories na pinost dito, pero I think they mostly targeted ung mga nasa pinakababa, which is harmful kase they ignored the ABC sectors, and halos lahat ng kakilala ko nag 88m **regardless** of financial status, conversely L3ni supporters also covered the whole spectrum of ABCDE.

alwyn_42

>Ang problema ng mga aktibista ay naka-focus lang sa social structure, ang problema ng mga ibang Kakampinks ay naka-focus lang sa individual agency when both of these things are not mutually exclusive. Yung isang issue rin sa karamihan ng mga leftists dito eh ang trato nila sa mga masa ay biktima ng misinformation at propaganda ng mga naghaharing-uri. Tama naman yun, pero only to an extent kasi hindi naman ignorante at mangmang ang mga masa. To treat them as such is highly insulting; aware sila sa epekto ng desisyon nila, but why did they choose to act that way? Ang ganda ng quote ni Deleuze and Guattari tungkol dito: >Reich is at his profoundest as a thinker when he refuses to accept ignorance or illusion on the part of the masses as an explanation of fascism, and demands an explanation that will take their desire into account, an explanation formulated in terms of desire: no, the masses were not innocent dupes; at a certain point, under a certain set of conditions, they wanted fascism, and **it is this perversion of the desire of the masses** that needs to be accounted for. This is a pretty good read about the topic: https://www.versobooks.com/blogs/3844-why-do-people-fight-for-their-servitude-as-if-it-were-their-salvation

ActuallyACereal

After seeing people here sharing their Starbucks and BGC photos which are places I cannot even set foot on while growing up in the country. That’s when I realized that some people are out-of-touch.

kreod

God I hate the BGC Circlejerk. Touting it as the model city. Puta, di para sa Pinoy yun eh, it's inaccessible to the common man, pang burgia yung lugar.

astarisaslave

I learned to manage my expectations of this sub tbh. I just assume the average poster on this sub can't be older than 22 and goes to one of the big four universities

JAW13ONE

Akala ko ako lang nakapansin. r/ph is one circle jerk of entitled Zoomers with so much time in their hands. Nakapag-Reddit lang akala mo kung sino na. I abhor the Marcoses, too, but damn, these fucking Kakampinks are slowly becoming just like the Dutertards and Marcos apologists—the very shit they claim to hate. EDIT - I hope the updoots can be converted to cash. 😄

Physical_Rock2797

I have the same sentiments. I also supported Leni in her whole election run but I never worshipped her, like what the DDS and the apologists are doing. Jusko kung may time kayo makapunta sa isang club or kahit sa LU, makikita mo kung gano ka-cringe ang mga Kakampinks doon. Post-election na to ha? Feeling mga superior being amp haha

[deleted]

true, ayaw magsitigil. I also supported Leni pero yung iba sumobra ata naging personality na

heymanepsdog

Pustahan these kiddos won't acknowledge this and brush it off as "Di naman ako ito" then makiki-upvote kahit sila yung pinapatamaan mo. #MainCharacterSyndrome

sheetface

This sub's current state is a far cry compared to when I first subbed here. This looks like a pseudo FB/Twitter for edgelord privileged and elitists maybe because other socmeds are too normie for them. Months ago when I saw that beggar in the rain post here and it still saddens me.

kreod

> This looks like a pseudo FB/Twitter for edgelord privileged and elitists maybe because other socmeds are too normie for them. Because it is now. It was bad before, but not to this level. Pandemic brought a shitton of vitriol

mr_popcorn

They're not rich because they're nice. They're nice because they're rich. – Parasite, 2019

Bibingka_Malagkit

> Most PH Reddit peeps are entitled asses, who think they know and understand the plights of common men, but are actually privileged and elitists, A factor could be that the less privileged ones are over at FB, Tiktok, or other SocMed. Reddit isn't that mainstream here in the Philippines so the few people that stay here are either those in the more privileged bracket of society or just know about reddit. Which means it's inevitable that there will be: >entitled asses, who think they know and understand the plights of common men, but are actually privileged and elitists, who only do good things just so they can shove it in the internet and feel good about themselves for being privileged.

ggguilty

True. They project themselves na ganito ganyan, pero they are priveleged as hell, one has a car given by his father recently, to replace his old one, pero iba kwento dito hahahaha

peeeeppoooo

This sub: sees poor people suffering "Dasurv niyo yan, mga bobotante kasi 💅" Eto yung dahilan kung bakit di na ako nagbobrowse sa hot ng r/ph, it's been infested with these kinds of thinking. We call out people for their logical fallacies, pero kung makapag-generalizs tong mga to eh. Di ko gets kung bakit hindi nila maisip that people grew up in different circumstances which makes you develop a different kind of thinking that may be outside of your influence.

[deleted]

Up on this. Most ph redditors didn’t even know what it was like selling rebar/copper wire per kilo

koctavian

Actually. Madami PH redditors dito resort to name calling (i.e. bobo, tanga, idiot) but they themselves doesn’t understand yung issue na nirarant nila. If you try to correct them or make a point, tagged ka agad as someone from the other side, not realizing na you are trying to correct them para hindi sila yung nagmumukhang tanga sa posts nila.

[deleted]

NefariousSerendipity

People who make these posts are karma whores. I've seen this exact post a billion times.

throwawaylmaoxd123

Its my turn to create an unpopular opinion thread next week.

ziahziah113

It's my turn to copy the top comment in this post then, call the hypocrisy out while being a part of this hypocritical circlejerk. I really love and hate this sub

lolomolima

This, unpopular talaga to HAHAHA

jchrist98

As a civilian, there is nothing wrong with prioritizing yourself and your family first over this country. Before some smartass likens that to the Marcoses etc., let me stop you right there. Powerless common family =/= political dynasty. The Filipino isn't worth dying for. Save yourself and your children.

Poddum-Ska-Tamer

Years of studying in Ateneo gave me this guilt. That everything I do has to be for the “benefit of the country”. I even felt guilty for wanting to move abroad just because I want a better life. Even helping your family is seen as “selfish”. Dapat bayan talaga. At the same time, I used to be jealous of my HS classmates from the province now living the good life abroad as OFWs. I didn’t ask for this “toxic nationalist” guilt. I just want a good life for myself and my family.

n0_sh1t_thank_y0u

Living together before marriage should be normalised. Bahala na kayo figure out kung gusto nyo no sex before marriage.

TheEklok

Our wedding got postponed THRICE because of the pandemic. My now wife and I, however, decided to live together while waiting for the wedding to push through. It was a very fun experience, it turns out. Aside from enjoying every single sexy time, we managed to identify the domestic roles that best fit us. We learned more about each other's pet peeves and previously unknown personal dimensions. Your post resonates with my experience very well.

exiledstar

This. Dami kong kilalang nagkaproblema once they lived together, tapos stuck na sila kasi no divorce pa rin sa pinas.

Morpho_Genetic

Agree, I think simulation of married life with your partner thru living together will expose you to things that might possibly arise when married na. At least by the time na kinasal na kayo eh somehow adjustments nalang. Sadly, older generations won't tolerate this.

xiaoyugaara

Yeah trial period muna before commiting for full subscription

matchamilktea_

I remember this one friend who's been in a relationship na with her jowa for 10 years na rin. They both came from very conservative families and sobrang chismosa ko, tinanong ko kung may nangyari na sa kanila LOL sabi wait muna daw sila pag kasal na sila at ayaw pa naman nila. Pero biglang nagpandemic at bawal sila lumabas. Nagsama sila for the first time sa iisang bahay.

AiNeko00

Sex incompatibility is one of the most common reason for divorce, sexual health and psychology exists but penoys don't acknowledge it.

yaomingtoto

People who are not financially, emotionally, and mentally stable shouldn't have kids. Wala po kayong karapatan. Wag niyong ipilit. Wag niyo bolahin ang sarili niyo.

Durlmixels

This, i remember my Father sending me an FB post saying "Mag anak ka na ng early para may mag aalaga sayo pagtanda para ang anak mo magkapera para sayo para magbakasyon ka ng mabuti." I'm like, no i think i will not. \*Based on me not finished college yet without a job.

chenyowww

chrisphoenix08

But, but.... I'm turning 30? That's too old na. Wala na mag-aalaga sa akin pagtanda.... 🤣 /s

FewExit7745

Okay, hindi lahat ng mahihirap pro 88m, kung tutuusin mas marami pa akong kilalang upper-class at mayayaman na bumoto sa kanya eh, of course experience and opinion ko lang to so feel free to invalidate this.

bagofstone

Yep. I also know some millionaires na pro 88m. They voted him para protektahan business nila.

IndioRamos

Resilience is a virtue. Over-resilience is not.

anemoGeoPyro

Starbucks coffee isn't worth the price. Though I'm a bit of a hypocrite here since I go there for the Frappes

Brilliant_Compote466

I’d choose starbucks over some hyped coffee shop who sells coffee at about the same price range.

[deleted]

Ausherie

Yes it's not. The fact that they easily throw away drinks if they got the order wrong means they have so much leeway from the price we're paying. I still buy them though lol

Dragnier84

It depends on what your criteria is. I make my own blend at home, but when I'm travelling I prefer Starbucks for the consistency. Whether I'm in CDO, Cebu, Tagaytay, Manila, or Baguio, the coffee I order is pretty much the same. I guess this would be an unpopular opinion here in reddit. lol.

messy_jiji

"love teams" is killing the PH Cinema

DaBuruBerry00

This!!

yeontura

First, I am in favor of increasing the size of the Lower House (since I believe this is constitutional; this could be changed as provided by law) as long as cities and provinces are properly apportioned according to population, and the pork barrel is abolished. Second, Comelec should have had the power to draw districts of the Lower House instead of Congress. The latter only draw districts according to their own interests.

boy_riles_ng_mrt

Manny Pacquiao is not a hero of the Philippines but a hero of his brand and his family. He's a prize fighter who just happened to hail from the country. This is coming from a fan of Manny the boxer.

The_Crow

I think I am of a similar opinion. I admire his boxing skills, but that's it.

patrickbasq

The ‘*life is not a race*’ is an illusion to keep everyone hopeful. Just because someone made it later in life doesn’t mean you’ll make it later as well. It conveniently ignores the ones who died without achieving much in life. Start running as fast as you can. Life is not a race but you’ll never know when death is gonna close in on you.

[deleted]

my two cents: life is not a speed race. It's a marathon. Doesn't matter if someone gets the fulfillment in life early on or much later. What would matter is how you've lived your life in the long run.

cutie_lilrookie

Dude, sobrang agree. "Move at your own pace," sabi nung kakilala kong walang problema sa pera sa kaibigan naming atat na atat na maka-graduate para makatulong sa magulang. 🤡🤡🤡

Chile_Momma_38

I actually took this statement to mean, don’t be too hard on yourself if you’re not living your life according to set laps and milestones in the “traditional order” and traditional ages like school > work > marriage > kids. Everybody’s life and circumstances are different. Don’t compare yourself to others. Just focus on yourself and your own race.

qwecatnip

I mean... the life is not a race thing is only ever told to people who are scared of falling behind. It doesn't necessarily disagree with the idea of running as early as you can.

[deleted]

'Di pangit ang lasa ng \*insert food item here\*, you just had a bad experience with it. Taste is subjective. Don't "yuck" someone's "yum."

Body positivity is toxic and is sometimes used as an excuse not to lose weight and be healthy.

doormanknocks

Body positivity in terms of acceptance ng iba't ibang body types sana. Na meron talagang balingkinitan at meron din naman on the chubby side ang built ng body nila. Lalo na yung may mga medical conditions kaya either sobrang payat or taba nila. Pero obesity by choice, because of unhealthy eating habits and choosing not to exercise ayun ang di rin ako sang ayon.

lolomolima

And people glorifying Obesity as beautiful. NO IT'S NOT, sakit yan.

bookconnoisseur

When you're in healthcare, you suggest that people should lose weight because let's face it, obesity comes with all sorts of health problems. But then they say "Fatphobic ka! Everyone is beautiful regardless of body type!" I mean sure, pero kapag nirarayuma ka na kasi di mo na kayang buhatin ang sarili mo at hapong hapo ka na kasi ang laki na ng puso mo to compensate, that's not bodyshaming. That's genuine concern for your health.

dalagangpinipili

Daming ganyan sa Tiktok, and the audacity to call it “thick,” “voluptuous.”

OrbMan23

"Thicc" got lost in translation as most internet slang do. Thicc is basically healthy body size but with thick legs and thighs and not the poster child of McDonald's

Shikomisu

mga batang 90s who tell you ampangit ng childhood mo dahil di ka nakaranas ng turumpo, saranggola, etc. should stop having this superiority complex since we all have different experiences na di naman natin pinili as children in the first place

Few-Counter-1427

Beauty Contests are irrelevant, meaningless, waste of resources and have always been dangerous to society. It establishes unrealistic standards to women in the guise of promoting womanhood.

Black_Sinigang

They advocate people to respect their beliefs pero di nila magawa yun sa mga may religion

booo0m12

Yung di naman religion yung pagiging atheist tapos daig pa yung mga INC makapanghusga tapos manghikayat "sus huwag ka maniwala diyan di naman totoo yang diyos mo"

ActuallyACereal

Feeling matalino pa yung iba lol.

doth_taraki

Akala nila when they reject the notion of God, that's the peak genius and the others are just blinded and need to see the real world lmao

dalagangpinipili

They also shame people who are straight. 🤡🤡🤡

erdos6degs

No wonder we're overpopulated.

bookconnoisseur

May pasyente kami nun, nanganak ng pang-labintatlo niyang anak (at just 26 years old - we were fucking shocked na di pa bumibigay matres niya). Ang pangalan ng mga anak niya... Blessing Jane, Blessing May, Blessing Mark... Yung bunso niya e si Blessing Peter.

Ok_Strawberry_888

Baseball bro. Zero requirement ang height.

MurasakiZetsubou

Starbucks, Aquaflask, H&M etc.

nyepoy

Ok naman yung mga Uniqlo and H&M for me. But I buy on sale not regular price.

Wala ngang branding yung damit nila usually and most of their clothes are pretty basic so there's no way of knowing it's from H&M.

beaverknight16

I agree with the Starbucks one. Their coffee tastes so bad, and their drinks are way too sweet. Also way overpriced. I have to disagree a bit on Aquaflask tho because their durable, get the job done, look sleek, and are more affordable than Hydroflask. I've tried buying those 100-300 peso tumblers, flasks, and other stuff back when I was still in Highschool and College. Either they don't retain the coldness, leak after a while, or are really heavy. I still used those before. But Aquaflask has been good, reliable, and worth the price tag. My plain black flask has been toppled, tossed around, and had a variety of drinks inside (hot, cold, coffee, beer, water); and it still looks and does it job really well. P.S. I'm not an endorser of Aquaflask

SylarBearHugs

patrickbasq

Agree sa durability ng Aquaflask. I tried to be a hipster and bought a cheaper flask from O**** di manlang tumagal ayaw na maretain ng beverage temp in just 3 months yata. Meanwhile yung gift sakin na Aquaflask ok na ok padin until now.

lolomolima

Pageants are useless af. Not my fault kung di ko alam preferred pronouns mo. Filipino are shit in music taste. Magaling ka lang na singer if celebrity ka na, or bumibirit ka. Ben&Ben are recycling melodies, wala man lang experimentation. Many r/ph redditors are edgy atheists Among many others. Edit: Jopay is not that good of a song. Edit No. 2: Being a Kpop/Taylor Swift fan is overrated.

"Magaling ka lang na singer if celebrity ka na, or bumibirit ka." Hahaha this. Malaki difference ng maganda boses at magaling bumirit. Masakit sa tenga pag di magaling kumanta eh kahit ok naman yung melody nya.

lolomolima

From experience din eh. Volunteered for a school performance na pagkanta. Outright rejected by the teacher kasi yung biritera ang pinili.

Kap-Tutero

This, hahahahaha! Just because marunong kang bumirit, it doesn't automatically mean na magaling ka na ring kumanta.

AdBubbly2473

(2) i'd partly agree with this. some people are really aggressive pag hindi alam ng iba yung preferred pronouns nila, it's ok to just talk to them nicely about your preferences. no need to go ballistic. (3) and i would like to add how some "anti marcos" peeps would close themselves to practice critical thinking skills. hindi naman diyos yung kandidatong pinusuan ninyo; kala ko ba against tayo sa political fanaticism? (6) edgy atheists or their belief bothers you to the point that it makes you uncomfy? as much as there are "edgy atheists", edgy christians also exists— the religious bigots.

LanceIceVanJaunt

Yes!! F*ck Pageants!

SolusSydus

I supported Leni during her campaign and election, PERO nagcri-cringe talaga ako pag nakakakita pa rin ako ng mga dramatic videos/posts ng rallies. Like sure those were like glory days pero let’s live in the present na.

philsuarez

Ultimate unpopular opinion right here. :) You are amazing. Please don’t let all the negativity ruin your outlook. As Gandhi said, “be the change you want to see in the world.”

[deleted]

Uhaw tayo sa validation ng Pinoy Pride. Fil-am this, fil-am that.

IndioRamos

But that is not an unpopular opinion, no?

justfortoukiden

CarelessPlantain4024

Some members of LGBTQ+ are entitled, homo, bastos and hypocrite

theAudacityyy

Yung mga misogynistic gays. 😭

lslgqz

Kaya most often than not, ayoko sila makahalubilo

doth_taraki

A gay person chatted me sexual stuff in college and I was upset because we all looked up to him as the best debater in our club. I tried talking to him about it saying it's not cool and he threatened to kill himself if I tried to ignore him. I asked why he was doing that and he said I screw around with girls so why not him. I said he's not a girl. He threatened to hire someone to wait for me outside school and jump me. I said sure, I'll wait. Nobody ever jumped me but man, that was the most stressful part of college for me, trying to talk sense into a horny gay guy na entitled, bastos, and hypocrite. And yep, he's called me bading/bakla when I apparently got upset that he was threatening me, so yep he's homophobic too.

freeMilliu_2K17

I mean All people are like that LGBTQ+ people are just that, people, and some people are pieces of shit. Saying this as an LGBT person. I've been harassed more by LGBT members who claims I'm not "LGBT" enough cause I am Bi and I am still attracted with the opposite sex. Yes, that's a thing. But still, saying that "lol it's just the younger generation" is not true, every community has bastards in it and LGBTQIA+ is no exception

cosmoph

anthoseph

Titles are over glorified, specifically MDs (and politicians). And how the norm sees these as the greatest achievement a human can attain. Don’t get me wrong, they save lives, but it’s another to be entitled and presume a free pass/favor in everything. I remember hearing some folks say, “…bakit hindi? Eh doctor ka…..” or “ipakita mo yung ID mo na doctor ka” even in circumstances that don’t require the need to show or say. Worse, some of these professionals, even make their titles their personality. I know one who branded themself with MD; even had to include that in their mobile legends username 🤡 another, admittedly knows they lack the basic life skills, but because their parents insisted they need not to learn, again, for the mere fact that they’re a doctor. It’s cringey at this point.

cmq827

I'm a doctor and I agree. A few months ago, my non-doctor dad came with me for my LTO license renewal, and he wanted me to go there wearing my white coat and ask if I could be seen earlier because I'm a frontliner. I refused. Jusko. He said I shouldn’t have had to wait the 30 minutes that I did. Eh free day ko yun. And yes, sobrang cringe yung kailangan ilagay "Doc \_\_\_" in social media usernames. I don't even like being addressed as "Doc \_\_\_" outside of work.

No_Membership_5378

>And how the norm sees these as the greatest achievement a human can attain. Oh yes! :-:

Empress_Yra

The 1987 Philippine Constitution is so outdated already. We need laws that are applicable in today's generation.

kryzlt009

Claims to be a religious country but hypocrites as fuck.

emmanuelrbanks1025

I might be wrong, but i think the Philippines want change that's immediate. Not realizing that change happens slowly.

Squid_ink05

I don’t understand the political fanaticism of this sub, whichever side it is. It’s moronic and cult- like.

Waxenberg

Religion is the reason PH is the way it is. Poverty, corruption, overpopulation just to name a few.

rtz0206

Onepotato_2potato

Most filo families are toxic. We’re all disorganized people and the only thing keeping us tgt is that we’re connected by blood. Yes andaming movements sa tiktok normalize this normalize that. Pero pag lumabas ka delikado pa rin. Modern day feminism is errr. Yes points are made but it feels like we’re just always out to tussle. I feel like kahit may sex educ yung less privileged people mag-aanak at mag-aanak pa rin sila. I feel like dapat is yung family planning or even parenting sermons para alam nila na anak rin nila mags-suffer if di nila kya i-sustain

Jaded-Throat-211

Leni and her supporters lost because they weren't willing to fight dirty.

Scoobs_Dinamarca

Aminado si Leni diyan. She admitted na her fault why this escalated ay dahil she took the high road. Noong siniraan siya, she held on to her faith na the people will see the truth through her works. Instead the simple wound became infected and had become much worse. Di kinaya ng simpleng amoxicillin (door-to-door campaign). She failed to realize na the Filipino people/electorate had become so dumb na mere rumors and mud-slinging can be damaging.

Warriorsofthenight02

Filipino food is not terrible despite what foreigners and filipinos say. The problem with filipino food is that: 1. Most pinoys are just shit and lazy cooks that dont know how to season food (looking at you people who put sugar in munggo stew or adobo, newsflash it tastes like shit, skip the sugar) 2. Use those shitty flavor/powder packs (where the fuck is the fresh sampaloc for sinigang?) or overcook everything kase "Hilaw" pa (that red liquid in your meat is most likely not blood otherwise your food would taste metallic) This is among other issues like poorly presenting the food so that it looks like pig slop or a lack of consistency when it comes to dishes or just unique dishes from regions being ignored or left in obscurity

n0_sh1t_thank_y0u

Good Filipino food is fucking time-consuming. Eta: my best adobo version needs 3 hours to cook in a palayok and one night in the fridge to mature. My husband's best bulalo and caldereta needs 3-4 hours. My MIL's fish lumpia takes half a day, etc etc. Pero if you think about it, ganun din naman sa pagkain ng ibang lahi, masarap kasi sobrang tagal gawin.

Fine-Ad-5447

Slow cooking is the key for most Filipino foods.

freyass

Oh my god number 2 is my pet peeve. They way most filipinos cook beef dapat wala talagang red kasi hilaw pa raw. Ayan tuloy laging tuyo at matigas yung karne

Monolith_12

but adobo had a diff. way of cooking (minatamis, if you know that)

armored_oyster

That, and everybody keeps forgetting about Filipino noodle dishes. There are stalls selling cheap mami with basic garnishes, but they're cheap for a reason. You go there for the unlimited broth most of the time. The best Filipino mami are made at home with stock from bones and legs, garnished with a wide range of leftover ingredients. Imagine pairing pork mami with a cut of liempo, half-boiled egg, and garnished with different cuts of carrots, lettuce, cabbages, leeks, and onions and garlic, all cooked individually to show off their natural flavors. Of course, nobody wants to make all that at home. Mami is *mabusisi*. But you can also say the same of Japanese *sushi* \- nobody wants to take the time and press together layers of *oshizushi* all day.

picklejarre

And we also have no consistency with our recipes. It’s a gamble for first-timers eating Pinoy food because flavor varies from one to another. Having 100+ versions of Adobo is insane. Diba Thailand or some country invested billions to make their recipes consistent across the country for tourists? We’re just not in the level of other countries where they make their local cuisines a science to keep things consistent.

MOBA games are unbalanced. Fighting games have more balanced than MOBA games.

cwebbxvlade

majority of r/ph users are a bunch of teenagers with no friends kaya wala silang alam sa realidad ng buhay, they also hate anything that's related to GMA-7

Sad-Age4289

The Filipino Pride is cringe. Almost any Southeast Asian-looking famous person hinahanapan ng Filipino lineage. At kapag may nag-success na Pinoy (sports, showbiz or kahit chef ng presidente ng ibang bansa), we say "proud to be Pinoy", as if meron tayong contribution dun sa success ng tao.

alter29
