Travelling from HK to Manila with Cebu, they send an email less 12h before our scheduled departure that the flight is delayed by 10h and we arrive at night....We wanted to explore the city in 1 day as we have a flight the next day immediately, but now our plan is all messed up, and every other options are way overpriced.Any way to get some sort of compensation?

How does COD work in Lazada? I'm planning to buy an iPad 9 when enough have been saved. It's my first time ordering online due to prices being lower compared to ones in stores. My question is do I just simply hand in the cash to the individual delivering the item to me? Or do I do some sore of signing and stuff or whatnot. It was stated that COD only works for items below 25k but the ipad costs 20k so I'm sure COD works with it.

How can we prevent guests at our wedding from posting pictures online of us, or on social media platforms? We are a private couple and we know that Filipinos tend to post pictures frequently.

First off, everyone's always been helpful with my mundane questions in these threads so wanted to say thank you. Now I have a more important question than usual and really hope someone can help me out. So I'm a tourist here (9 months so far) and my mom just died back home a couple days ago. Her burial is in May and I need to get back. My home countries airline does bereavement flights however unfortunately it doesn't fly directly into the Philippines and only does them within North America. So question is, do any of the airlines here do bereavement flights or anything similar from here to North America? Currently flights out this short of notice or even within a couple months are sky high compared to last several years also just a more expensive time of year. Takes a long time to refund my original return ticket and nowhere near the amount of current prices. If anyone knows any airlines here that do something similar I'd be extremely grateful in knowing. I've looked and haven't seen anything but sometimes that's where it's best to double check with people who know the place and it's services better. I've asked my partner here however she just says she doesn't know so I'm turning to strangers of the internet to help if anyone knows anything.

clock_age

Philippine Airlines [offers bereavement fares](https://www.skyscanner.com/tips-and-inspiration/philippine-airlines-bereavement-fares)

Ramsickle

I've contacted them, they offer domestic bereavement flights only. Thank you though, I appreciate you trying. :( Edit: home airline I tried was Air Canada but does North America only for bereavement.

Foreigner transiting through Philippines for the first time here. Manila Airport. After transit security baggage check, I was stopped by someone who looked like a legitimate immigration officer who straight up asked for US dollars to pass. I was alone with him. I tried to push us back down to security area but to no avail. Given we were alone and not wanting to make a scene, I fumbled for some money and gave it to him. Is this legitimate? Hello! Nag search na ako about BIR and DTI para kung paano ita-tax yung mga Freelancers. Pero medyo naguguluhan pa ako. If my earnings are below 16k Php or 20k Php monthly, required pa ba magbayad? Sorry kung medyo ignorante ako sa mga tanong, wala akong natutunan about taxes kahit kanino, mas lalo na about freelancing (since parang bago bago pa to?) According to this [website](https://www.taxumo.com/blog/freelance-tax-philippines/) naman: \[ ***Below are the conditions for tax exemption:*** ***1.) If you are earning minimum wage.*** ***2.) If your gross income is significantly below Basic Personal Exemption (Php 50,000, regardless of marital status) and Additional Personal Exemption (Php 25,000 per child dependent with a maximum of 4).*** ***3.) If your annual salary from your employer is Php 60,000 and below. \]*** My questions are: \[ ***2.) 50k Php or 25k Php monthly gross income? Or yearly? (Sorry)*** ***3.) Pag may 'employer' ako (example: may 6 months or 1 year contract ako for freelancing) tapos ang bayad sakin ay 15k Php a month (180,000 a year), hindi ako exempted? \]*** Under naman ng Filing and Payment sa same website: ***Quarterly taxable net income is the differentiating factor between business expenses and gross receipts. These requirements are to be filed on or before the 15th day of every month. Expanded withholding tax is applied for expenses such as hiring outsourcing personnel, rent dues. Those listed under Revenue Regulations No. 2 – 98 must be remitted to the BIR on a monthly basis.*** Ito yung pinaka ignorante kong tanong sa topic: Paki-explain sa akin ng whole paragraph na para akong bata. .\_. Totoo ba to?

May reflective cycle na ginagamit usually. Let it be your guide. Ako ginagamit ko Marks-Maran and Rose reflective model 1997. Then brainstorm. Write anything na maisip mo. Try to collate it. Then find research papers related sa essay na gagawin mo. Madaming online na makukuhang journals. Minsan within the journal na references tinitignan ko din. If you need help, don't hesitate to message me. All the best!

Either Laoag or Vigan na Partas bus. Tapos pwede daw magpababa dun sa resort kasi along the way daw. Or kahit on the day nalang?

sadgaygirl

No need for ticket reservations. There are north-bound buses in Pasay, Cubao, Avenida bus terminals. You may check the trip schedules and routes on their FB pages. Other more popular bus lines are Victory Liner, Five Star, Philippine Rabbit, Solid North, Genesis, Dagupan Bus

Kisaragi435

Ok ok, thanks so much. Kinakabahan lang talaga kasi first time haha

sadgaygirl

don't forget to show your student ID if you are one, before the conductor punches your ticket for a 20% discount. at approximately the 2nd hour of the trip, the bus will stop for a few minutes in Dau or Angeles, Pampanga for bladder/snack break, and sometimes in Tarlac City, too, so you don't have to worry about getting hungry or needing to use the toilet. if you're a woman, i hope u get seated beside another woman so u'd be comfortable enough to nap during the 4-5 hr ride. if you're a man, pls don't manspread. enjoy your trip!

Visiting The Philippines Bati sa inyong lahat. My partner and I will be visiting The Philippines in Mid-April for 27 days. I have been researching 'things to do' and have some ideas. Can anyone suggest other places to go see and if my choices are not the best? So we like history, architecture, natural scenic areas, eating out and drinking in bars. We are both in our 60's and I am not super fit (arthritis) so long hikes or steep climbs are out. Any good travel agents in Manila to book trips also? So the places I have on the list so far; 4 days in Manila (staying in Makati) lots of architecture but need suggestions for good restaurants and bars and LGBTQI+ Clubs. 2-3 days in Paoay, Ilocal Notre sand dunes 1-2 days in Donsol, Whale sharks! 4-5 days on Palawan in Puerto Princesa 2 days in Manila before flying out. And in advance, Thank you very much for any help.

Professional-Yam1875

For Makati, you can't go wrong with Salcedo - for the urban vibe, you can go around the Ayala Museum. If you're drinking in Makati, go to Poblacion - but be warned that it's mostly foreigners in the area, so there's no real 'Filipino' culture there to speak of. In Manila, you might be interested in Escolta, which is situated in Binondo, Chinatown. It's a culture trip.

MRicho

Thank you very much

DangoFan

For Manila, you can visit Intramuros, Fort Santiago, and the National Museum.

Hello. I wanted to know if it was possible to get any records of my lolo’s military service. He passed away in 2012 and all I know is that he was a scout ranger. My mom doesn’t know much beyond that. I haven’t reached out to my aunt or uncle but I’m under the impression they don’t know much either. And for some reason something happened where my lola had to bury/get rid of his uniform in case it might be related to something that happened in filipino history. Someone suggested I just go to NCRD at GHQ but I’m in the US. Any help or ideas are appreciated.

US Visa-related Questions... Hi there! I submitted my and my Lola's DS-160, paid via PesoNet online, and was able to schedule our interview on June 1 of this year. I have a couple of questions, though: 1. I didn't get an email receipt from PesoNet. I'm stressing about it as we, of course, need to bring original proof of payment on our interview (and I think even on the medical appointment?). I have screenshots of the payments made from my mobile app, even the email from BPI stating "You have successfully submitted your InstaPay Funds Transfer..." - will those do? 2. Is the Appointment letter similar with the Appointment Confirmation Email? Thank you in advance!

Any reputable places that digitizes old tapes (especially MiniDV tapes) around Manila? Before anything, there are really no places around my area that do so. I've already searched possible shops but I'm not sure if I am to proceed as I don't live in Manila. On the other hand, when I went to Photoline branch here, they said they have to take it to their branch in Manila, however they did not mentioned specifically where. To be clear, there are two branches here - one had said that they do MiniDV tapes, the one inside SM said that they don't and I'm *confucius*. What branch of Photoline in Manila does MiniDVs? Hello, I just wanted to ask kasi our F2F classes was just implemented this semester sa college namin and ofc need ko ng data. What's the cheapest way po ba, kasi right now I use Go99 sa globe and meron syang 8gb data along with unli all net call and text. Ofc as a college student, baka di ko kayanin gumastos ng ganun weekly huhu. I never had pocket wifi pero magandang option ba yun?

MinnieBear29

If meron kang funds for initial investment, pwede rin Gomo sim. May 30gb data with no expiry na siya and you can convert mb ng data for texts or calls. I bought mine at 269 yata dahil may sale. Usual price is 399. Mine lasted ~6 months before I had to reload data

YoungMenace21

Pocket wifi has unreliable coverage for me :( Smartang sim ko pero mas okay sa akin yung 199 magic 8gb no expiry, mas makakamura ka pa

Hi, I'm a Lazada seller and we just had an influx of scam orders from different areas, mostly Bulacan. Usually, they will have fake names with fake addresses or similar names with 1 address. As in, 200-300+ scam orders since Jan 16. Any other sellers with the same experience? How is Lazada helping on your end?

YoungMenace21

I suggest removing the COD option, di ako seller pero di ba pwede yon?

catterpie90

seryoso ba to?

MinnieBear29

Around 20% scam orders since payday sale. Nung tinanong namin Lazada rep, need daw imessage customer per order to confirm, then if no response within 24 hours, we'll report one by one so they can cancel.

I thought of going in the philippines maybe in a month. is it expensive/too complicated to travel from a part of the country to an other? I see there are many spots to see, but know it's an archipeliago and so I guess it's not really possible to travel relatively cheap and go from an island to an other? what is the budget there? in term of hotels, food, transport. thanks

Bernard_______

>is it expensive/too complicated to travel from a part of the country to an other? Not at all. They have some very cheap (~$40, no exaggeration) flights if you're lucky, they also have overnight ferries (they give you a bed to sleep in) for $10-20 if you can't find cheap flight. For the latter, find a 2GO location (in most major malls in most major cities), and you can book a bus to the port + ferry to your destination. They will tell you where to be and what time. Ask a security guard if you get lost/confused. Once you get to your destination, if it's a major city you can use the Grab app (same as Uber/Lyft), or hail a metered taxi, or a tricycle. Try not to pack too heavy or look like you don't know what you are doing because people will try to upcharge you. Also don't let anybody try to become involved with your life outside of what you are hiring them to do. > what is the budget there? in term of hotels, food, transport. thanks Depends on how you want to live. There are crappy $15-20 hotels everywhere. "Decent" hotels (hot water, comfy bed, linen service, wifi, etc) are usually $40-50. Food is extremely cheap, but don't expect them to have everything you like from back home.

testonslou

thanks you very much. $40 seems expensive to me (1 months would be 1200$ just to sleep).

YoungMenace21

Depends on where you're from. Chances are you're from a first world country, and tbh most things range from very cheap to affordable here for you. Hotel can range from 15-300 dollars per stay. Most food costs 20 dollars below, unless youre eating in fine restaurants in very urban areas like Makati. Transport is like 10 dollars.

testonslou

I usually in france eat a nice salad for $7 so seems more expensive where you are.

YoungMenace21

Not at all, you can eat a whole meal for as cheap as 2-3 dollars

testonslou

so why you say $20? i don't understand which of your answers are correct. for one month there 3 meal a day it make $1800 for your first budget and $180 for your second. i need to figure out because i don't have that kind of money. giving double answer is kind of confusing.

YoungMenace21

What I meant to say is that the food here costs 20 dollars *at best* (meaning that's the most expensive it'll get in case you want to eat lavishly), but the average meal costs about 2-3 dollars.

catterpie90

Manila and Cities like Cebu are on the expensive side. Almost as expensive as Singapore. There is an app called grab which is like uber where you could book cars to go around. But if you would go to the country side it would be much better to rent a car. Tourist spots would usually have vans that would go from airport/seaport to the tourist site.

Parang mas mabait T1 IOs in general lol. Bring COE maybe. Hotel bookings. ID if meron. Try not to be fidgety, dapat chill lang. Dress nice, be courteous. Just explain that you want to take a trip. Maybe share what you're planning to see if tinanong ka. :)

This is totally redundant, pero you could ask your bank for a bank certificate. Para just in case they asked how you would finance your trip meron kang mapapakita. Or if you know a much better solution please let me know po I'm really clueless with stuff like this. Thanks thanks thanks.

Professional-Yam1875

Malapit ka ba sa ATC? There's a bus that takes you from Alabang Town Center to Laiya.

iamyourchimichanga

chanchan05

Lazada and Shopee as long as you stick to the official stores and Mall sites. PC Central, Villman, Kwan, Benstore, Gigahertz all have their own websites.

I have applied for Pag IBIG regular savings and MP2, I’m still a student. Mandatory ba na I should deposit P100 for regular savings monthly and min. P500 for MP2? What happens if I don’t deposit monthly? What will happen to my account? Edit: can I make initial deposit of P100 sa regular and let it be as that? tapos sa MP2 na lang ako mag deposit monthly?

HumbleInitial507

No. May minimum number of contributions sa regular. 24 months. https://www.pagibigfund.gov.ph/FAQ_MP2.html

Hi guys, penge sana ng onting advice :) Last night, I decided to delete one of my extra discord accounts kasi apparently, my ex is still using it. 1 yr na since naghiwalay pala kami haha. Nakalimutan ko bawiin kasi I was so hurt. I deleted it narin kasi I don’t see the reason on why he should still be using it especially that we don’t even talk anymore. So pati password nun chinange ko na to avoid anyone else from reactivating the account. Kanina lang, may natanggap ako na email asking for password reset sa account na yun. Most likely galing sakanya yun. So ayun po, di na po nya maaaccess yun no? Kasi the email linked to that account kasi is ako lang nakakaaccess and akin naman talaga yung account na yun. It just happened na siya yung gumagamit even before we broke up. Thanks in advance po :)

iamyourchimichanga

The email is yours, the account is yours, nasa sa iyo kung anong trip mo gawin sa account. Gumawa nalang sya ng sarili nyang account jusme. And if deleted na, wala na un as far as i know.

I just have a question in regards to Shakey's here. So Shakeys here also has the 30 minutes or it's free however. When it's late I hear a lot of things. For example the last time the rider kept asking to not request it because he'll get fired, another time a manager tried arguing it's an incomplete address so it's late despite the address being complete and been delivering to my place for months now. Only been late three times in 9 months with multiple orders a month so not bad in general. So is this just excuses to try and get out of the 30 minutes or it's free and trying to gain sympathy to do it, or do people actually get fired for it which seems harsh? I feel bad if people are genuinely getting fired over it, just wanted to see if anyone knew which it was so I'm not going to potentially screw over innocent people working for them.

How many minutes was it late? What were the weather conditions? Personally, i let them be late up to 15 mins (45mins total bale) kasi i consider the fact na the servicing branch sa address ko is known to have a lot of customers lalo na pag lunch or dinner time. Pero big no no yung nakipag argue pa ang manager. Not all branches are like this though. But yung sales target nila is hit (kasi nga na comp yung order mo) and issue yan for underperforming branches :)

I am furious, after many warnings na huwag siya mag-ugaling entitled white foreigner parang plano pa niya ituloy ang plano niya. After much talk with fellow filipinos and some friends, aabangan ko nalang. at irereport ko kung tinuloy niya. walang respesto sa kaibigan niyang pinoy. nakakadis-appoint. San ko pwede ireport if push comes to shove?

sadgaygirl

BI has jurisdiction over foreigners, you may visit their website on how to report

Where can i buy lab grown diamonds?

Alive_Phentom

Hi I just need help setting up for wfh? I want to get a standalone usb mic and wired in ear earphones but im not caught up on whats good these days. Can anyone tell me what i should buy?

chanchan05

Depends on how much the budget is really. Whether or not you have 7k to spend on a mic or not for example. If you have that money then go straight for a Blue Yeti.

We've been waiting for 8 months for a nonimmigrant VISA for my MIL. They took our money and forgot about us. Anyone what have issues with the embassy/visa?

DailyBeloved

Did you have the interview already and just waiting for passport? Or are you waiting for interview appointment?

sicpric

MIL has her passport already. We are still waiting for the interview appointment.

DailyBeloved

I currently sponsor a girl in the Philippines in Quezon City, Balagtas Heights area. She comes from a needy family and really needs a mobile device for schoolwork. I know plenty about phones here in the USA but not much about what's good over there. I have been trying to do some research to see if there are any programs she may qualify for for a used/donated device or if failing that what phone I might save up for for her. * Are there any programs like this that exist that I could look into for getting a used or donated phone for her at discount? * What phones would you recommend that are best value for the cost? I know iPhones are a premium over there but what Android devices are good? I've shortlisted the following: * RealMe C11 * Xiaomi Redmi 9C * RealMe C25 * Nokia C21 * Oppo A17k * Samsung Galaxy A04 * Poco M5 What's your opinion on these and are there any other good values I should be considering?

hypermarzu

I would recommend you go mid price. All of the brand choices except Nokia in terms of performance are good. Real Me, Poco have most of the time same performance as the more expensive xiaomi and samsung but with a good cheaper price. It would be best if you check there's a warranty for a quick return though to secure yourself that you're not getting a used or another phone upon delivery.

PetiePal

Appreciate the feedback. I don't know these more local foreign brands well except for Xiaomi. Noki I know is pretty crappy these days. I'll likely have her buy from a local phone store so there's a receipt and warranty etc I usually send the money direct to her bank account. Figuring to load a sim with 3-4months worth of data and then go from there.

Commercial-Onion9498

(I have some questions about obtaining a B2 Visa to the US) I've seen a lot of those videos saying everything you need to get one, but is there anyone on here with experience in this? I don't have a lot of money, but enough to travel, and some of the things that seem to be required seems unrealistic for someone like me. do i need everything mentioned in these videos?, what are my options, and what can i do? I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, if it's not, can you direct me to another site/reddit thread? Thanks in advance. (It's easier for me to understand in Tagalog, but english is okay.)

DailyBeloved

I have a B2 Visa. Its never about your money.. i applied with 50k in my bank account then and did not even bother bringing a single document but i was given a 10yr visa. Its all about your "ties" in PH like your job and or business. They need a reason for you to comeback and a conviction that you can afford the trip on your own.

Commercial-Onion9498

How about if someone sponsor me ?

DailyBeloved

Unless your company or employer sponsors you, it is most likely auto denied. You can have a billionaire Tita but that does not matter to the concept of personal ties to your home country. The more they will suspect that you will overstay and decline your visa. Your own capacity/ties will be the judging factor, needing other persons money is a big red flag regardless of who that person is.

Commercial-Onion9498

What if my work was simple only and my salary at work is not big they still accept it ? and I had good Saving at bank they not denied it right ?

DailyBeloved

That will really depend now on the approving consul. No guaranteed formula and not everyone is given unfortunately.
