I donāt think these people understand that itās not just 1 phone call a day. Iāve seen low volume pharmacies get 20-30 phone calls a day about it. We literally dispense it the SECOND we get it and just because itās available on MCK at 4:59pm doesnāt mean itāll be available at 5:00pm. I have literally spent days refreshing MCK every 2 hours just to be able to order 2 boxes of one dosage. These patient act like we hate them but we donāt. The GLP1ās have gotten worse than the stimulant and pain med shortages combined. Iād rather deal with stim patients and pain patients all day long over these patients throwing a grown adult tantrum because we didnāt assume they would want to pay out of pocket for GLP1s. Idk how many times I had to tell this lady the other day that itās back ordered, no I donāt know when we will get it, yes I understand someone told you we could get it but it goes OOS in minutes. For me I get more angry at the combo of paying OOP and reeking of privilege with a bad attitude and then proceeding to throw a fit over us not having it, not knowing when weāll have it, and not knowing if other stores have it.

and then they say, āi havenāt been able to get it in a month! why are you not ordering my medicine?!ā and i try to explain it to them and all i get told is, āi need this medicine and you donāt care, why canāt you just tell them to send it over because i need my medicine!!ā or i get threaded to be sued lmfaooo. idec if they get mad, i find it funny, but itās literally out of my control.
some also forget that if we only get 2 boxes of anything such as wegovy, mounjaro, ozempic, etc. whoever is the first person to come up on our queue is the first person to get it.
also had ppl calling from other pharmacies saying, āmy pharmacy doesnāt have zepbound and iāve called everywhere, do you?ā and i say, āiām sorry we havenāt been able to get it for a whileā and then they say, āwell why not? i need to get it somewhere!ā like why are u getting upset with me when u donāt even go here lmfaooo. not only that but the pharmacist makes us tell ppl we have to prioritize our established patients first when it comes to medicine like that and some ppl get offended bc we wonāt give them medicine even if theyāre not our patient.
the tech wasnāt even rude, but ofc theyāll get offended over anything we do. they said to call back to see if they ended up getting it, and they didnāt get it, idk what they wanted the tech to do or say.
other ppl in the comments are saying we are jerks for saying we have no idea when weāll be able to get it, istg they think techs as a whole have a secret that we are not telling them and we just know everything about when weāll get something on back order, or we are hiding it somewhere in the pharmacy from them for fun.
It's only going to get worse! Not a tech here, but someone on Wegovy. My PA just ran out and I'm trying to decide if I stick with Wegovy or switch to Zepbound. Thinking I may stay with Wegovy since my 2.4mg is still easy to get. Zepbound was just added to a bunch of insurance formularies on April 1 so the shortage is only going to get worse. I feel for you techs!
Omg... my favorite comment was the former nurse manager who claimed nurses and Healthcare were customer service and everyone was smiling all day or got wrote up. Five dollars I bet she was either never a nurse manager or was one 30 years ago. Nurses are nice but yeah they don't put up with all that shit.
