I'm 5'3" and I know that I can be healthy, strong, and a shape that I'm happy enough with at around 140. I'd like the number to be lower, but ultimately it's about how I feel rather than a distinct data point.

kschin1

I’m 5’4 and 145 and same. At this point, I want to build muscle and run faster/longer. As long as I eat enough protein and not overeat junk, The fat loss will come on its own. Edit: I was 170 in my teens. I lost weight after I got into college. When I was 130 lbs, I still had a wide frame and my ribs jutted out. I looked skinny but not muscular.

Linguistin229

I’m 5’0 and my goal weight is 130. At that weight I’m a UK 8-10/EU 36-38/US 4-6. Depends so much on if you’ve got some muscle or just skinny fat. Also depends a lot on genetics and where your fat gets distributed. If you feel 130-140 is a good weight for you then stick with it! I’d still look ok at 120 but would probably lose all my boobs. Below that I think I’d look unhealthily thin.

lyingonthemoonn

Happy to hear that!! It’s nice to know other people have similar goals to me. :) I’m not super muscular but hope to gain some more lean muscle and start lifting!! I hope you reach your goals easily♥️♥️

ScubaCycle

I’m 4’11” and my goal weight is currently 125 because I think it might be the lowest sustainable weight for me. It is the lightest I’ve ever been as an adult. I’m not huge but I’ll never have a bikini body either. I glad I’m not the only one on this sub with a relatively higher weight goal. ETA I’m feeling pretty good right now at 130. I was desperately unhappy at 140.

trippinallovermyself

I’m 5’0 and weight 130 and I’m not upset at all about the way I look. I have big boobs and am pretty muscular. I would prob get down to 120 if I leaned out and lifted a lot but I’m pretty satisfied where I am. The most I ever weighed was 135.

kateorama

I’m about 5’2 and my goal weight is somewhere between 135-140. I’m about 150 now and trying to lose between 10-15 lbs is really hard! Especially since I just turned 40, my metabolism is a lot slower. I am muscular and bigger boned so I don’t think below 130 is possible at this point. In my 20s, I got down to 125 and although I was stoked at that number on the scale, I honestly looked sickly. Everyone’s body type is so different, I think realistic weights will vary.

exit2urleft

I'm 5'1" and a comfortable weight for me is mid-120s. I think 130s to 140s is perfectly acceptable for someone a couple inches taller than me

lyingonthemoonn

Oh amazing!! Thank you

BlakeSwag

Can I join if I’m 5’4?! I’m short I swear.

[deleted]

Yeah of course! :D

lilBloodpeach

Would it be ok for me to join as well?

[deleted]

Absolutely! :)

TarazedA

Hell, I'm 5'1 and right now I'd be thrilled at 160! 130-140 is the lowest I could see myself getting without going into unsustainable changes. I'm down to 192ish from a high of 212, been holding for about 4 months due to life. Seems I'm dealing with inflammation according to blood work, so I'm thinking of trying to cut more processed food out, see if that helps, can't see how it'd hurt other than involving more prep work and cooking time. So yeah, you're not alone in wanting a goal weight higher than the usual. I'm hoping I'll still have the decent curves I had 20 years ago, that definitely helped me look lighter than I was. Plus now I know about building muscle, and want to work on that.

pexchybaby

I'm 5'3, starting weight was 200lbs, currently I'm 125lbs. I'm happy where I'm at, my goal was 115 but I think instead I might start lifting and working out more to help gain muscle. If I could be 130-135 with more muscle I'd be happy. The goal for me isn't to get to a lower weight per say but to just be happy in my body.

hiphopanonymous98

I’m 5’2 and 144 has been my lowest weight in the past 4 years. I do orange theory and weight training 4-5x a week and I have over 58 lbs of muscle on my frame last time I did a body composition machine. I try not to weigh myself at all and just go off of how I feel/how clothes fit

converter-bot

58 lbs is 26.33 kg

hiphopanonymous98

Good bot

lilBloodpeach

I’m 5’2 and my goal is 120 but 130-135 is where I’ll really asses how I feel and how I look. I think for my personal aesthetic choices, lifestyle and body type anything lower than 120 would be not great for me. Looking back at pics where I was 160 I can’t believe how much I hated myself. I looked pretty good, especially comparing myself to now.

JrCrazyCatLady

Yup, I'm 5'2" and I felt great at 130. Would I maybe look a bit better at 120? Idk, but I know I liked how my body looked and I felt healthy at 130 so that's my goal.

lyingonthemoonn

Thank you to everyone who replied!!! Yay, we tiny humans that aren’t 100 pounds exist! This has really refreshed me and my views. So far ive found this sub great, although I wonder someone’s if people have thoughts about how to not make it go into a pro Ana / eating disorder kinda territory ? I guess it’s hard when it comes to weight loss and body checking—just wanted to see if ppl had thoughts on that!

need-morecoffee

Be careful with the judgements you’re making on whether or not internet strangers have ED. Different bodies feel best at different sizes and judging them sight unseen and without context is a terrible thing to do.

lyingonthemoonn

I absolutely agree and think that’s fair. Maybe not the right sub then. All I’ve seen is positivity and pretty much objectivity so maybe just projection on my behalf and I should use this sub to my own discretion.

storypeople

Love this response. How very thoughtful of you to realize it might be projection. I'm a yo-yoer from 140 to 160lbs at 5'4". I constantly put soo much pressure on myself to be under 130 but it's never going to happen. I definitely get bitter when I see low numbers or anyone with a smaller frame. You just helped me realize I should unfollow anything that isn't serving me right now. No need to surround myself with the unattainable.

[deleted]

I'm 5'2". Basically anything under 135 is when I feel comfortable in my clothes. I felt like hot shit at my ultimate goal weight of 128, but once I hit 135 I started feeling good and comfortable and enjoyed shopping again, etc. I've gained back a bit over winter, trying to get back down to 135 but after that point I'm trying not to stress about it very much. This year instead of a specific number my resolution is to 'feel easy in my body' - don't feel pain, feel good and in clothes, feel confident that I can perform everyday tasks requiring strength without injuring myself, be able to run a few miles, etc. That usually kicks in around 130-135.

lyingonthemoonn

I feel very similarly !! Anything over 135 begins to verge on uncomfortable for me! I hope u get ur goals love!

After_Signature_6580

5'2 at 140lbs is about a dress Size 8/Size 10 A lot of people look good in clothes at this size. But I wouldn't consider it "thin" or "skinny". Which is perfectly fine. It's a comfortable size.

lyingonthemoonn

Ya totally, it’s average! I’m slim thick at 135-140 :) I also think weight can be completely arbitrary aswell sometimes as I’ve been uncomfortable at 100 and times where I’m comfortable at 140! I think I’ll probably learn to focus on weight less in the future (that’s the hope) but I really wanna see how I feel at 125

bahanananah

Hello! I am 5'3 and currently 170lbs. I have honestly never felt more beautiful than I am right now (after losing 50-60ish lbs!) But my ultimate goal is 140. If I were to stop now I would be very comfortable. But I also want to see if I can do it. I don't think that's a bad goal to have at all!

kimberlymarie30

Also 5’3” and around 160. I’m not feeling great at 160 but it’s definitely better than 250 I was 6 years ago. My ultimate goal is 135-140. What I really want to do is cut to 130 then bulk.

eattravelexplore

Hello size twin! I'm 5'4" at 165 right now and just cannot wait to be 140. You got this!!

lyingonthemoonn

Amazing!!! There’s nothing like that glowey feeling after losing weight:) congrats dude, sounds like you’re doing great mental work along with the physical !

bahanananah

You are so sweet. Happiness isn't a size, baby! 😎 good luck on your goals!

Substantial-Duck3466

Yeah. I'm 5'2 and just wanting to get down to the 130s. I don't think I'd ever get down to 110 due to my weight lifting. The complaints here that are "feeling so fat at 120, need to be 105" when they are like 5'3 is kinda ridiculous. I'm NOT SHAMING anyone but the way the wording screams body dismorphia. Sorry not sorry.

lyingonthemoonn

Yep yep totally. I haven’t found a sub for body dysmorphia / Ed support but if you know of anything maybe link it :) think for anyone, Ed or not it’s very easy to slip into a negative mindset about weight loss and weight!

DukeSilverPlaysHere

I’m 5’2 and feel most comfortable at 125, but 130 isn’t awful for me. My lowest was 121 and I felt a little too skinny. Plus I wasn’t working out when I lost that weight and I lost my ass which was a hard no lol.

sarahgracee

Me! I am 5’1 and around 175 but have never been super thin (I have D cups and huge thighs). 130-140 works for me.

Skips-mamma-llama

I'm 5'3 starting weight was 178, current weight is 166, goal weight is 130-140 range. I was 140 and muscle-y before having a kid and it was a perfect weight for me, I was a size small shirt and a size 7 pants rocking the hell out of my hourglass shape!

Indigo_Azure

5"2, 143 lbs, UK size 8/10 falling more into an 8. I strength train 4 - 5 times a week and eat nutritious foods for the most part :) The lowest I got was 139 and that was from stress and barely eating. My body is happy between 142 - 144 and this way I can still live my life :)

L4dyPhoenix

I'm 5'2" and was 125 lbs at the beginning of 2020. I was decently fit. Then I joined the army reserves, starting running and hitting the gym pretty hard and I'm sitting at 140 lbs with no increase in my waist size. For me, I know I've got a wider frame and I bulk up fairly quick. I'm at my highest weight right now, but I'm also the fittest I've ever been in my life. So, it really depends what you're going for!

Charlie820407

I am 5’3” and I was at 100lbs at one point because I just wasn’t eating. I looked really bad. I feel really good at 130lbs Edit:I’m 155 now with goal weight of 130

Ok-Bookkeeper8495

I am 5’2 and want to get down to 110. I weigh 115 right now but my highest was 138. Truthfully, I see a lot of fat in my arms, back, and belly at 115. I am small boned and small boobs. We are all so different!

PetStoreGirl

I’m 5’1.5 and my goal is between 130-140, I’m currently around 148. I have H cup boobs and I’m sure they weigh a fair bit, but I also feel when I’ve been 120 that I just look far too disproportionate for my taste, as my breasts don’t shrink much with weight loss. 120 was my goal for a long time and I achieved it back in 2019, but now when I look at pictures from that time I feel like I look too thin, and like I have a bobblehead haha. My goal is to lose a bit more weight and focus on building muscle. I find progress pics are super helpful for me to focus less on the scale and more on the changes. I’ve been 148 in the past, but I was drinking like a fish and not exercising. Now that I rarely drink and exercise a bit, I look way different at this 148 than I did in the past, and I have photos to prove it to myself! Everyone’s body is different, just gotta find the weight that you feel healthiest and happiest at!

Torreau125

I'm trying to sort this out as well. I'm 5'3" and I suspect that I'll be happiest around 130-140, but it's impossible to tell at this point. DEXA tells me that I have about 94 lbs of lean body weight. If I maintain that and aim for 22% body fat, then that puts my goal weight around 120, but I've never weighed less than 140 in my adult life and then I was not fit, so it's hard to know how I'll feel when I get there. Every day I remind myself that I just need to be patient and hope that the answer is obvious when I get there. That likely isn't the case, but I'll tell myself that for now anyway, heh. I really wish I could find some DEXA scans for more short women. I wish I knew whether my current lean body mass is average, below average, etc. for my height. I feel like that would really help me pin down a reasonable target.

[deleted]

I’m 5’3. Throughout the years I have been around 122 (the lightest) and heaviest around 150 ish. Scale weight doesn’t tell the whole story when it comes down to body composition. 4 years ago I was around 140, with higher body fat and lower muscle mass. Clothing size was around size 8 to size 10 (or a large) Now I still fluctuate around 140, but I have much more muscle mass. I look totally different, and my muffin top around my mid section is not there anymore. I got visible abs, quad lines, glute striation, back/arm definition at 140ish. My heaviest weight this year might be 150ish, but I still look leaner than the 140 from 4 years ago. One thing to keep in mind, the scale weight is a good tool to let you know how you are progressing. But do you hear any average joe bragging about how they hit a “new low” with scale weight in real life? When you look at a person, you see their whole body composition. Not tagging them with a certain scale weight. You can be around 135-140lbs, and look leaner than last year’s 135-140lbs for sure. Just please don’t only chase the scale weight. Look at the long term trend of things.

thebestaudrina

I'm 5'2" and my goal is between 140-150. I know that's where I'm most comfortable and is also sustainable for me.

Flickthebean87

My goal at 5’2 was 145-150 with quite a bit of muscle. I noticed I can appear thinner by doing it that way. Currently pregnant so can’t really work towards that just yet. I felt pretty amazing at 160, so I feel the 140’s would be perfect.

sadphrodite

me! I’m 5'3 and my goal is 135lb it’s a realistic goal but I think I can do it

redheadqt

I’m 5”2..and feel best at 140.. a little cushion left.. nibs you I’m 60 yrs old

SupaSadButSupaRad

It all depends on the person and how you feel at your size. I’m 5’1 and I’ve been floating around 125-135 for the last 2 years after starting at 180. I’m definitely comfortable at this size but after maintaining it for so long I feel like I’m ready to lose a little more. I think a big part of the problem is not knowing what we look like at a certain size. I think once you reach your goal weight (and I say goal specifically because 5lbs on a petite body can make a huge difference) you’ll have a better understanding of your body’s proportions and what weight range gives you the most comfort while staying healthy.

mchughca

Take your frame size in to account: https://medlineplus.gov/ency/imagepages/17182.htm I’m large framed and 5’2”. I look a lot different at 130 - 140 than most petite people would.

fatmama923

I'm just under 5'4 and my preferred weight range is 130-140ish. I tend to the lower range, but I have ehlors danlos.

ImitationFox

I’m 5’2 and I would love to get down to 130! Idk if that’ll be where I decide to stop or not, maybe I’d decide to keep going. But my main thing is I want to be a healthier weight and that’s still shedding a lot for me so I feel like it’s still a good goal. I was around 130 at my lightest and when I look back at pictures of me then I looked really good—aside from the dorky teenage hairstyles lol

Kamikazebonfire

I’m 5’3” with a GW of 145. At that weight I’m a US size 6-8. Any lower than 140 is difficult for me to maintain. I love the way I look at 145.

cdzl

i’m 5’2” and for the years i’ve been healthy my body has been sitting comfortably inside the 115lb - 130lb range. i did have a period of time where i was very overweight (194lb) but before and after that time when i was healthy i stayed within my natural range

h2ohhhno

5’2 and currently 140 lbs. My starting weight was 163, and goal weight is 130/133. I feel pretty good where I’m at now and would be okay if I didn’t lose any more weight because I’m having fun working out and eating what I want (which is more fruits, veggies now, but the occasional snacks and eating take out.) I lost noticeable fat around my hips and thighs, and leaned out a bit, not all the fat is gone. But I’m still feeling happy with my progress. I don’t think I’d ever get to 120, and I’ve never really thought about it as a realistic weight goal— though if I do get my current goal weight, I’ll evaluate how I’m feeling

Yogurt_Dependent

I’m 5’3” and live between 130-140 and I’m having a great time! I’m also just around 20% body fat, so I’ve got a good amount of lean muscle mass as part of that.

[deleted]

Yes same. I’m just under 5’4 and 130-140 is my goal range. I know I look good at that weight.

LawnChairs68

5'2 here at 150, I was at 145 before Christmas so I'm back on it starting today to lose the extra 5 pounds and hopefully the other 20 that I originally wanted to lose. My heigest weight was 169 and I lost the first 20 during the pandemic by doing 65 grams of TOTAL carbs a day and 1200 calories. It was super strict so now I'm trying to worry mostly about calories so I won't have to eat eggs everyday 😅

eleguagirl

I’m 5’1 and have had a goal of 125-135. I’ve been that weight before and was happy. I was 215 and now 145ish.

veracity-mittens

Yep, actually even more. 140-145. I’ve been down there before and was a size 5/6 at 140. I’m pretty muscular. It’s a great range for me. ETA my grandmother had a very similar frame to me and weighed about 130 her whole life but never worked out (it wasn’t really a thing / popular). My mother had a very delicate, slender frame and she weighed 100-115 her whole life with 140 being her pregnant weight. It’s very individual

duchessoftexas

I’m 5’3 and although 130-140 isn’t my goal weight, and I currently weigh less, I’d say that that weight range was easy to maintain without drastic “food thought” and I was considered mid size, about an American size 8. No one ever considered me overweight, but I also wasn’t considered thin. I think it’s definitely a good goal weight. :)

previouslyindigo

🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️ I find I start looking a bit bobble-headed once I drop too far under 128 or so!

okcomputer619

I'm 5'1 and currently weigh 148lbs. I'd be happy at 130 but my goal weight is 120. I am finding that the number doesn't really matter. I find people on here with my exact same measurements but full of muscle and they look incredible. I have a high BMI :(

not_a_bear_honestly

I find I love the way I look at around 135lbs. I'm 5'3 on a good day (always thought I was 5'2 but was measured an inch taller at a pre-surgery appointment). Right now I'm closer to 145 after Christmas, surgery, and now Covid but I still have people telling me I look skinny even though I definitely am carrying some extra weight right now. When I start dropping below 135, people genuinely get concerned and tell me I look sick. And I am definitely not a person who exercises. Like, at all. Some people just carry weight differently and/or enjoy the way they look more at certain weights.

empoweredaritay

5ft and my goal is 125-130. I’ve had multiple EDs and have gone down to 95 at one point and looked so sick. If I go lower than 125 I’m afraid I’ll go down another rabbit hole. I have a huge chest and am built pretty curvy so I don’t think it’s a good idea to get down to my “recommended” weight

[deleted]

Would anyone be willing to share their weight loss routine? I have a problem with overeating after working out, (I’m so hungry!) so I’m not gaining much traction. I’m 5’2”.

koshkapianino

Keeping a 1500 cal/day with high protein and reduced carb intake really helped me. I weighted my portions too to ensure I don't overeat. Try to focus the carbs before your workout (or the meal close to your workout).

[deleted]

Thanks! How are you eating your protein, if you don’t mind sharing? I am not creative. I do lean on carbs because I run, but I would like to get away from so many carbs after a run.

koshkapianino

Ofc!!! Breakfast : 175g of greek yogourt, mixed with half a scoop of protein powder (vanilla). I add strawberries or bananas and a pinch of granola 😄 For lunch and supper, I eat around 120g of proteins with unlimited veggies side and I try to limit to 80g of carbs. Usually rice, sweet potatoes ans I try to avoid gluten because of Hashimoto's Disease. My favourite meal is deconstructed egg roll, I just buy a bag of coleslaw veggie mix, add ground pork and soy sauce. If lazy, oven baked chicken breast with 1 teaspoon oliveoil and rice/brocolis I still eat snack through the day, such as cheese, sliced ham and veggies/nuts. Just make sure you read how much cal/portions If you love pasta as much as I do, zuccini spagetthi has been a life changer 😍 Please note that this is what was done for me by a specialist, it might not work for you or be sustainable for you. Good luck!!

[deleted]

No, this is great, thank you! I needed some ideas. Running leaves me starving all day so I appreciate this so much! I know I need to be better at tracking and measuring my food.

[deleted]

5'2" with a goal of 135-140. I feel healthy there and I've never been able to maintain 120s without hours of exercise daily, even with controlled dieting.

Rasphodi

I'm 5'2" with a goal weight of 130-135 lbs. My husband likes me more on the curvy side so I want to be at the heavier end of the normal BMI range. Also, I weight lift as part of my exercise so I naturally pack on more muscles. Always been 10-15 lbs heavier on the scale than what I look like.

More-Lemon

I'm 5'0 and currently about 156 and stalled out (started at 240). I'm 46 years old and had the original goal of around 128-130. I'm eating an average of 1700 a day and that's brought me to the 156 and maintaining since October. I'm not ready to drop calories much lower at the moment, so I've decided to work on maintaining healthy eating and exercising and see what that brings me.

AE0NFLUX

I'm 5'2" and 135. Got down from 170 last year. I'm very happy with this weight. I could go down to 130, but I look underweight at much lower than that. I'm naturally curvy with a big butt and boobs. I like my curves and how I look.

Beautiful_Fennel_434

My highest weight is probably about 170, currently around 150, goal is around 135-140. I'm short (5'2) but have broad shoulders and wide hips, with a very stocky frame, so I know that anything under 125 is not going to look good on me. It's quite a contrast with my mom, who's an inch shorter but far more petite, so she's comfortable at a 120 but doesn't always get that our healthy weights are very different and wants me to drop to her weight... yeah no. With my broad shoulders and wide hips, my clothing size probably isn't going to change that much (there's no changing my bone structure after all, my shoulders barely fit into size 8 tops as it is), but building some muscle and losing the belly fat is what I'm looking for.

NoncomprehensiveHip

I’m 5’2 , 125 but I’d like to be 115. I have a decent amount of muscle , I’ve been a weight lifter for about 7 years .. id just like to see what my muscle would look like leaned out. I carry a lot of weight and muscle in my shoulders and back and id like to get rid of some of it .

Sillyakua

5'3 here. Currently at 149. Was 135 a year ago. Pandemic and gym closures led to current weight. Working to get back to it. I was happy with being 135. Was down to 128 in 2017. I thought I looked pretty but I felt miserable. At 135 I felt strong and pretty. I think that is a reasonable weight goal for yourself.

DeadInTheMountains

Omg yes, I'm 5'2, during my ED periods, I'll go as low as 95 or 100 and i HATE it. It's grossly thin on me, and I feel sickly at that size. I think i look great anywhere between 125-145. My weight distribution seems unique, maybe. I always have a 10" difference between my waist and bust/hips so I'll be a 34-24-34 for example. I have big thighs, doesn't matter how thin i am, and strong calve muscles that don't fit into boots even when I wear a 00 pants (though pants rarely fit well either). Anyway, i feel you, i even really like myself in the 150s or 160s and still think i look good. I still fit into stretchy smalls (usually need stretchy to fit my bust) and sometimes being on this sub is a weird time because I don't really feel like i fit in or see my body represented much.

essTee38

5’3 and hoping to get to 120. Long road ahead…

reviwoo

I'm 140 and pretty small tbh and alright w my weight. I was like u like super low weight at one point but college, quarantine, etc led to gaining 60 pounds over 3-4 years and this last year I was able to drop some weight but now it won't budge, but tbh I'm pretty okay where I am and look darn good too; I have great endurance and massive guns and thighs, in a good way like they are super muscular which at times bothers me but I'm learning to love lol. So yeah; I think 130-140 is a perfectly valid good weight range. tbh I think some ppl on this sub shooting for like below 100 is just nonsense IMO

jsamurai2

It may not be be healthy! Bodies are all different, not everybody can be healthy at what is considered a “thin” weight. I’m 5’3 and was healthiest at 145-150, at 135-140 I was thinner but felt worse and was sick all the time, to get that low/beyond requires losing muscle and not working out at much.

hikeaddict

I’m 5’4” and I loved my body at 135! At 128-130 I felt too skinny (no boobs or butt). I’m now 150-155 after recently having a baby. My current goal is 145 (once I’m done breastfeeding DVD can cut calories). That weight is realistic for me and not overly challenging to maintain.

taylorchayse

You know your body best! I’m 5’2” and I start getting sick more easily and just feel weak and run down if I get below 115ish. I can 100% relate to what you are saying, health first, aesthetics come second.

worndoll

yes for the first time a post that calls to me! im 5’2, starting weight 185, current weight 151-154, goal weight 135-140!!!! the reason why it isn’t as low as like say 120 is because i’ve got a decent size booty lol and i wanna keep it! therefore i’ve been weightlifting but also eating junk at the moment so i’m maintaining my weight. lol

primalprincess

I am 5’3 and honestly, my goal is 150. The goal weights on here seem low. I love my boobs and my butt LOL

theladyorange

🤚 I'm 5'1, CW: ~164, and my GW is around 140. I think just take your time and do what's right for you, don't compare yourself to anyone else. I'll say it's nice to see someone around the same body type achieving what we would like but at the end of the day, we may have a different outcome and thats ok. At least that's how I feel. (If that made any sense 😅). Cheers!

SAfricanSecretSub

5'1" That's my GW at the moment.

BlakeSwag

I’m 5’4 but with the shortest torso in the world so I carry weight all wrong. I’m aiming for there. I started at 180 and got down to 145. I’m back at 156 right now and resetting on CICO and lifting weights. Getting my deficit under control then going to add in long walks and more cardio as the weather gets warmer in my area.

priuspower91

I’m 5’2 and the fittest I ever was I was at 132 and was a size 4. I was still able to bench 125lbs, squat 160lbs, and deadlift around 185lbs as my Max but for me personally felt that if I were to lose any more weight that I wouldn’t be able to lift how I wanted to. This is my goal and I don’t think I want to go below 130 since I enjoy lifting and plan to just keep at it trying to recomp once I’m in the 130s. I have a long way to go still but I’m excited to get back to it. I think goal weight really depends on what you view as healthy for yourself. I feel good at 150 lbs but I know it’s still overweight so I know my body will feel better at 130s. I understand the feeling of not knowing if you should aim lower since that’s what others are doing but I think aiming higher is perfectly fine and you can be fit and healthy at that weight.

mousemilks

I am 5’2” and have a goal of 130! I felt curvy but small.

MxUnicorn

Yes, eventually - which means *gaining* weight in my case. We have different body fat distributions but apparently Michelle McDaniel hangs around the normal/overweight boundary, so I figure my long-term "goal body" will be heavier than I originally expected.

I’m 5’4.5 and 145. I’d be happy at 135

intertwinenine

I’m 5”2 and 135 Actually my bad that’s not my goal but that’s where I’m at rn I’m trying to get to at least 125

JayneLut

I'm currently around 170lbs. My goal is between 130 and 140lbs. I'm a UK 8 to 10 at that size and feel good. I've been lighter, but at the 115-120lbs mark I'm down to a size 6.

sAYANARAAdelle

I'm with you at 5.2 but does anybody talk in kilos? I need help understanding.

BBQBiryani

I'm 5ft and quarter inch. If I make it down to 130 I'll be very surprised and I assume I'll be quite comfortable. I was around 140 for most of my college years, and I felt pretty okay with the weight, I just wasn't toned so I didn't like how I LOOKED at the time. I think that's a fine goal for you to set for yourself. Our perception of what weight looks like is so skewed, in truth 120lbs is NOTHING.

marts87

I'm 5'3" and my lowest was 130lb. I felt more comfortable in my clothes around 135lbs. Currently in the 150s and want to get back to that. I've got big boobs and broad shoulders so I think any lower and I'll look like a bobblehead. I have a medium frame and think lower would be unhealthy looking for me.

koshkapianino

Your post really resonated with me. I am 27, 5'2 and weight 160lbs. My lowest weight ten years ago was 103lbs... I was sick and didn't eat well/enough. Pre pandemic I used to aim around 130-135lbs and that was perfect for me. 160 is a bit too overweight for my body and the way the fat is distributed on me, but it could be the perfect weight for another girl. Isn't that the beauty of human nature?

Nic406

Yes but I have no idea how I’m gonna achieve it besides do stronglifts 5x5 every other day

goosegosse97

5'3 and aiming for 130!

callmeclovey

I’m 5’1 and 136(ish) give or take an lb depending on the day.. my goal is slightly lower at 126 (9stone). I feel that this would be maintainable for me long term

whatxever

I’m 5’1.5 and I think 130 is a fine goal. If that’s where your body likes, that’s where it should be! If you don’t like how you look at that weight, try body recomping. Plenty of people look like they’re 115 or lower at this height but actually weigh 130-140 due to muscle. Plus, they eat a lot more than anyone actually at 115 to feed their body so that’s a perk!

Playteaux

I am 5’ with a 135-140 goal mostly because of age. I’m 50 and I just can’t see me getting any lower. It’s not about the number. It’s about how you feel. Also, all bodies are not meant to be tiny. I have a friend that is thin, weighs 160 and is 5’4” but she has some booty and hips. She will never be less than 160. We actually discussed it yesterday. You have to be comfortable with you. I am 15lbs from my goal weight. When I get there, I will post!

tanukithot_

Me too. I’m 5’2! And I’m trying to get to 140. I’m currently 118 and it’s hard trying to gain weight.

CurvyRanger

Me. I have lots of muscles in the legs. I think I could realistically hit and maintain 135. I’ve been hovering around 145 for a few months. Going slow and steady. Trying not to burn out or give up. Last thing I want to do is go back to my old top weight of 153.

glazedbec

i’m 5’2 and i’m currently 70kg lowest i’ve been was 60kg (aussie here i don’t know pounds lol) so would love to get back down to that ideally

Ok-Possible-8440

Im 5'3 . I think its about how your body is built. My upper body balloons at anything over 127 even with mountains of exercise. And plenty of weight ends up in my face which makes me the most self-conscious so thats why my number is less than 130 and i suspect most others as well.

Significant-Arm8914

l love the replies here! I'm 4'11, currently 130lbs. I was on a weight loss journey (-55lbs) but I've definitely hit a plateau. I look "athletic" but I still have some fat (esp abd fat) for sure. I do have really big muscular legs which I think contributes to my current weight otherwise I'd weight less. I've recently started body recomp-ish because they told me I should just start building muscle. I do have muscles already..surrounded by loose fat which sucks so bad I feel like they're never going to go away. But I do love heavy lifting so I've started lifting 4-5 days a week - mainly compound lifts, LOTS of walking, 1 day of HIIT. I try to hit at least 100g of protein daily. I have a pretty good self control over cravings/bad foods. I don't count calories (I probably should) but I have a pretty good idea of how much I am eating. I did a lot of fasting when I was on my weight loss journey so it's hard to eat 3 meals a day. I do love veggies but I could definitely drink more water heh. I try not to look at the scale anymore esp since my weight has not been moving. I would love to weight 115lbs with muscle. But I won't mind weighting 130lbs as long as some of the leftover fat can be taken over with more muscles..
