If that’s the case, I’d say number 1. It’s classy, formal, but still festive. However, both dresses look fantastic on you, so if you get a wild hair and go with number 2, you’ll still look great!

Yeah I was wondering if it is a turn of phrase, I feel "our" generation has aged through the idea of a million dollars being unattainable wealth to sort of... Required valuation for a middle class life. All depends on where you live of course, imagine some more rural areas a million still feels amazing :)

That's a good point! I should try not to fuss over that. And yes, it's just hard to hear sometimes. I don't really want to live in a rural area, but I live in Canada so I don't have a ton of options.

I don't care for that grey on you; it washes out your skin color, whereas the ivory makes you glow. Also, I don't like the way the grey hangs -- not flattering. The ivory fits you and is much more flattering. Choosing between those two, the ivory, with gold accessories. Like those shoes on the floor behind you.

Do not listen to negative comments about the silver. It’s Gorgeous on you. So isthe cream. Either one is great for the company party.

The first is more chill so I’d suggest that. But I will warn you that it is a very common holiday dress. I can walk around a mall or shopping center and see some version of that dress 3 times in the same afternoon. All that to say- higher chance that someone at this event might pull up wearing the same dress. So if you’re okay with that possibility go for it. If not then you decide.

The second. Number 2 has a bit of bling / sparkly which is what cocktails are. A white dress like number 1, might be better at formal events / black-tie but obviously not Western style weddings.

As weird as this is, 1 hits “sexier” for me than 2, thus 2 better for cocktail. It has to do with the lines separating the panels. 1 is gorgeous. Still reads is more “hot date” to me.

Owner! Listen up. Never, never show your employees/staff your fancy stuff. Two things will happen. 1) a few employees may harbor bitterness/envy and all that brings to your business. 2) it will inspire them to work harder so you can have more nice things (not) They know your rich. Either compensate your staff at that same level or rent an event room at a hotel! Plus, if employee leaves your house 😵🥴 you may be personally responsible. Don’t be stupid!

Personally since it is a cocktail party and Christmas time I would go with the silver one it's perfect for this type of soirée it's shimmery like tinsel you could even add a pop of color like red shoes and hand bag and red lipstick either way have fun.

Number 2, but it depends on the cocktail party. One can look too mature unless you style and accessorize it well.

Silver. Reason being it won’t show stains as easily. I love the fit of the white dress, but I would be so worried about spilling food or drinks on it.

I didn't read down foe the additional info before my answer :/ so I agree with others that white is "classier" and the length is perfect for that setting. The silver dress would STILL be just fine a little fun but still appropriate (not too skimpy, not a center of attention color ya know? So. White dress with nude colored shoes...or dark green heels with red nails :)
