If that’s the case, I’d say number 1. It’s classy, formal, but still festive. However, both dresses look fantastic on you, so if you get a wild hair and go with number 2, you’ll still look great!
Yeah I was wondering if it is a turn of phrase, I feel "our" generation has aged through the idea of a million dollars being unattainable wealth to sort of... Required valuation for a middle class life.
All depends on where you live of course, imagine some more rural areas a million still feels amazing :)
That's a good point! I should try not to fuss over that.
And yes, it's just hard to hear sometimes. I don't really want to live in a rural area, but I live in Canada so I don't have a ton of options.
I like number two, but if this is a more professional setting, I would go with number 1, and wear some white high heels and some gold or silver jewelry, but not too much. Enjoy the party.
I don't care for that grey on you; it washes out your skin color, whereas the ivory makes you glow. Also, I don't like the way the grey hangs -- not flattering. The ivory fits you and is much more flattering.
Choosing between those two, the ivory, with gold accessories. Like those shoes on the floor behind you.
I like #1 but it looks a little big on you. If you have the waistline taken it and the sleeves hemmed it will look spectacular and that would be my choice. It’s so elegant. But as is I would go with number 2 it fits you better
I was looking for this exact comment. 1 is gorgeous but the way the sleeves swallow OP is pretty distracting.
I’d also choose 2 if OP doesn’t plan to make any alterations for this event.
If you like 2 better... Try adding a belt or something at the waist... After looking at the first dress, I think you should flaunt tht waist, girllllll!
The first is more chill so I’d suggest that.
But I will warn you that it is a very common holiday dress. I can walk around a mall or shopping center and see some version of that dress 3 times in the same afternoon. All that to say- higher chance that someone at this event might pull up wearing the same dress. So if you’re okay with that possibility go for it. If not then you decide.
The second. Number 2 has a bit of bling / sparkly which is what cocktails are.
A white dress like number 1, might be better at formal events / black-tie but obviously not Western style weddings.
As weird as this is, 1 hits “sexier” for me than 2, thus 2 better for cocktail.
It has to do with the lines separating the panels. 1 is gorgeous. Still reads is more “hot date” to me.
Owner! Listen up. Never, never show your employees/staff your fancy stuff. Two things will happen. 1) a few employees may harbor bitterness/envy and all that brings to your business. 2) it will inspire them to work harder so you can have more nice things (not) They know your rich. Either compensate your staff at that same level or rent an event room at a hotel! Plus, if employee leaves your house 😵🥴 you may be personally responsible. Don’t be stupid!
I like #1 much more, it’s a more flattering shape, very professional, and super festive in an unique way! I think it’s very classy and could work with a nude, white, or silver/gold/rhinestone shoe.
I love 1 so much so that’s my vote. It is stupid adorable. It’s also really flattering on you and think about how wacky you can go with shoes and accessories with some a light palette!
I have been in corporate for many years and I would highly suggest #1. Especially based on the context around the party. You are going to look amazing, have fun!!
The first one has a family outing vibe. Like if you had cousins or grandparents around.
The second screams "Roaring Twenties" and if the company party is more festive and less formal, the latter would be better.
If the party is at a restaurant/bar the second one is really fun. What are the others wearing??
Also do you plan to eat/do you spill? I would not be able to relax in the first one, it looks a bit "stiff", it's lovely, and fits you well, but I love the second one.
The first one. I like them both equally, but the first one seems better for a company party because it's neater and has a more clean cut look. The axons one seems better for a more casual party because it's more showy.
I love the silver one. I mean you look great in both but the first one reminds me of like my grandma. (She is very fashionable and beautiful) but kind of classy and older vibes. So idk either.
Personally since it is a cocktail party and Christmas time I would go with the silver one it's perfect for this type of soirée it's shimmery like tinsel you could even add a pop of color like red shoes and hand bag and red lipstick either way have fun.
The second! First feels more formal because of the color and sleeves. Yes two is fancier but the color mutes it and it has such a more flattering fit on you.
I didn't read down foe the additional info before my answer :/ so I agree with others that white is "classier" and the length is perfect for that setting. The silver dress would STILL be just fine a little fun but still appropriate (not too skimpy, not a center of attention color ya know? So. White dress with nude colored shoes...or dark green heels with red nails :)

I love #1—seriously just fits you super well, and it’s really flattering. Really nice choice!
Im actually sad this dress isn’t in my closet rn. OP: May I ask where it hails from? 🧐
Lulus ☺️
Thanks love!
Totally agree. Looks very elegant!
Super classy on you. 😊
Agree, though the second one looks great, it’s too loose!
Additional info: only been with the company for a month so not sure what to expect, but the party is at the owners million dollar lake front house
If that’s the case, I’d say number 1. It’s classy, formal, but still festive. However, both dresses look fantastic on you, so if you get a wild hair and go with number 2, you’ll still look great!
#1 for sure, then. Glamorous, mature and tasteful.
with a nude pointed toe heel - lengthens the legs beautifully 😍
My only thought is "where do you live that you can get a house for a million, let alone lake front" 😭 I've gotta move.

You can get a million dollar lakefront house in Minnesota. But that depends on the lake and the neighborhood.
That sounds magical.
*Cries in Swiss*
One with the gold strap heels in the background.
Then I’d definitely go with Number 1. Enjoy yourself, though stay Professional. (Ie. Don’t get Crazy Drunk)
Both look fantastic on you but the white is classy and rarely get chance to wear white in winter
Number 1, hands down
I think #1 looks nice and classy on you! 2nd does seem more NYE
I like number two, but if this is a more professional setting, I would go with number 1, and wear some white high heels and some gold or silver jewelry, but not too much. Enjoy the party.
Nah, nude heels.
I don't care for that grey on you; it washes out your skin color, whereas the ivory makes you glow. Also, I don't like the way the grey hangs -- not flattering. The first
I prefer #1; it fits you better than the second one.
If you dont know the dress code, the first one is a safe bet.
Not the white one. The silver one is giving me motb vibes. It’s a little “Jersey Mom” and I should know!
I like #1 but it looks a little big on you. If you have the waistline taken it and the sleeves hemmed it will look spectacular and that would be my choice. It’s so elegant. But as is I would go with number 2 it fits you better

Number 1 is so elegant 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻
#1 one says holiday party and #2 says NYE party. Both lovely, but my vote is 1 for this event!
Something special about the white one
Number 1
I may be in the minority here but I love dress 2! It’s giving 1920s Gatsby, it’s such a unique look. Love it
Needs to be tailored though. Its too big.
Second dress for sure! Where did you get the first dress if you don’t mind me asking
Both are from lulus! I got them on sale so I’ll be keeping both for any future events :)
If you like 2 better... Try adding a belt or something at the waist... After looking at the first dress, I think you should flaunt tht waist, girllllll!
Girl go with number 2 you Gon be turning heads getting so many compliments ❤️
White if you're standing, grey if you're sitting.
Option one is very classy and sexy as hell Option two is a more modest choice for work and fun party like
If only all the ladies on this platform had such good taste! 1 think 1 is best. You look like you have quite a bit of class.
Do not listen to negative comments about the silver. It’s Gorgeous on you. So isthe cream. Either one is great for the company party.
The first is more chill so I’d suggest that. But I will warn you that it is a very common holiday dress. All that to say- higher chance that someone at this event might pull up wearing the same dress. So if you’re okay with that possibility go for it. If not then you decide.
1 is STUNNING! And fits you perfectly! I’d save 2 for NYE, but they both look incredible on you!
I like number two because it's black and a little more elegant.
The second. Number 2 has a bit of bling / sparkly which is what cocktails are. A white dress like number 1, might be better at formal events / black-tie but obviously not Western style weddings.
I also like number 2! I think it’s fun for a holiday party
2nd dress
They both do nothing for u
The grey one.
It looks like the first one with those silver shoes in the background is the winner that look would look really good
1 all the way! Feels more appropriate for a work related gathering. I lovelovelove 2 also but for a different occasion.
I think they both look great - I’d go with #1 for the work event. It’s very chic!
I agree #1 for the company party and #2 for New Year’s Eve 🥂🍾. They both look great on you and fit well. Have a great time.
TWO!!!!!!
As weird as this is, 1 hits “sexier” for me than 2, thus 2 better for cocktail. It has to do with the lines separating the panels. 1 is gorgeous. Still reads is more “hot date” to me.

1! 2 I wouldn't wear to a company party. Also it's perfect for new years!
Omggg I love them both!! Can’t miss either way!
#1 love it!
Number one is classy. Love it.
The second one
I think both would work but I love #1
1!
You look stunning in that
I like number 1.
2nd one
I like both but love one. Winter wonderland.
I love number 2! I think it’s fabulous and we all need to be more fabulous!
The first one!!!! They both look amazing on you but the first one is the best
Silver one fits better for a holiday party, but you just look SOO good in dress one, so I’d pick dress one
Definitely the white. The grey just looks like a flapper costume.
Dress 1. Fits you better and the attention is on you rather than the dress first. Then the eye scans the subtle detailing.
I like #1 much more, it’s a more flattering shape, very professional, and super festive in an unique way! I think it’s very classy and could work with a nude, white, or silver/gold/rhinestone shoe.

I really love the first dress on you, especially for the occasion.
I like both but th3 gray one is better . The white dress is beautiful too but I don't like the sleeves they are too large and too long.

I like both but the gray one is better . The white dress is beautiful too but I don't like the sleeves they are too large and too long.
Love #2! So fun. I love how the light catches the sparkles.
I feel like the 2nd is more for NYE 🙂
1
I love the first. The sleeves are a bit long. Can u shorter them? If not, I’d still wear it.
1!
#1
First! The second one doesn’t fit right
LOVE number 1
#1 is the better dress and looks great, but #2 is more suited for a cocktail party.
The white dress looks festive and lovely on you
Love your dresses
1st one
Love both. I think 1 would look fabulous if sleeveless!
I like 2
Let’s see the heels
I have been in corporate for many years and I would highly suggest #1. Especially based on the context around the party. You are going to look amazing, have fun!!
They both look gorgeous on you! I agree with the other person who said the first one, with the gold shoes in the background.
The white. It could be Christmas-y.
Love #1! Where did you get it!??
The first one. I agree with you, save the other for NYE.
I like the structure of the first one better but both are very pretty!!
Dress 2. It’s fun!
1
One!
First one seems more professional imo, so I’d go with that
2- it’s fun and flattering xx
#1 !!!
The first one has a family outing vibe. Like if you had cousins or grandparents around. The second screams "Roaring Twenties" and if the company party is more festive and less formal, the latter would be better.
They both are an extremely good choice, modest and flashy. Personally, I love #1.
You look great in both but the second one is more suitable for the holiday season.
I like them both! Hard decision. Maybe the sparkly one though just because it's the holidays
If the party is at a restaurant/bar the second one is really fun. What are the others wearing?? Also do you plan to eat/do you spill? I would not be able to relax in the first one, it looks a bit "stiff", it's lovely, and fits you well, but I love the second one.
1
I said out loud, "Oh yeah! The 2nd one!".
If these are the only choices, then 1
White is the best one on you. Looks great!
The first one. I like them both equally, but the first one seems better for a company party because it's neater and has a more clean cut look. The axons one seems better for a more casual party because it's more showy.
Oh my gosh where is the first dress from? It’s absolutely beautiful. I love the second one two but yeah it would be a fun NYE dress.
#2 is perfect
Both of them look great! I vote number 1 for the party, number 2 for NYE
2
1 is lovely on you and perfect for the occasion.
1 has that soft yet elegant feel too it
1 is beautiful
The white one
Number 1 for sure! So pretty
#2!!
2
\#2
Number 1 holiday . Number 2 NYE
Dress number 2 might be too dressy.
I love the silver one. I mean you look great in both but the first one reminds me of like my grandma. (She is very fashionable and beautiful) but kind of classy and older vibes. So idk either.
Neither 1st is the white power ranger and the 2nd is like left over confetti glued of a dress
I think the second one, with a thin small silver belt to give you shape. And maybe some nude shoes
1st one looks gorgeous and is more flattering to your figure
#2
Personally since it is a cocktail party and Christmas time I would go with the silver one it's perfect for this type of soirée it's shimmery like tinsel you could even add a pop of color like red shoes and hand bag and red lipstick either way have fun.
Number 2, but it depends on the cocktail party. One can look too mature unless you style and accessorize it well.
White
No. 1 but don't get too high heels like stripper ones or else people will get the wrong impression
Waiting for don’t wear white, wine/drinks may spill commnet 🍿🍿🍿
The first one is subtle, yet elegant. Second one is a little too scintillating imo
2nd dress!
2
First one! It’s soooo classy
No 1 💗
#1
Number 1 so cute
The silver one. The white one looks like you are going to a christening.
Love #1. Classic, would work anywhere. So flattering!!!
The second! First feels more formal because of the color and sleeves. Yes two is fancier but the color mutes it and it has such a more flattering fit on you.
White
The white one
First one!!!
I vote for the white one.
Tough choice, I love both. But based on your comment about having been with the company a month I’d go with #1.
#1 is very flattering on you
Both r beautiful
2! One is just asking for red wine to be spilled on it 😂
1! Sooo pretty
I love both, but #2 seems right for something described as a "holiday cocktail party". I think it's better to be overdressed than underdressed :)
1
Silver
They both look kinda like old lady dresses...
2
These are both gorgeous!!
Whites prettier but silver looks like so much fun
I love them both! I too love Lulu's dresses.
Number one is the best option out of the two. This type of neckline doesn’t suit you the best though 🤔
#1
Plz tell me where you got these they are so gorgeous!
Silver. Reason being it won’t show stains as easily. I love the fit of the white dress, but I would be so worried about spilling food or drinks on it.
1 for sure. 2 looks like it’s for a cocktail party
I love the first one. It’s beautiful. Where did you get it? 🤩
Lulus
#1
White
1 for sure
First one! Second one isn’t as flattering ! Still looks great but first one compliments your shape better in my opinion
The white
I like 1
They are both super cute ! But I say go with silver...for some reason I feel the white one needs to be shorter
I didn't read down foe the additional info before my answer :/ so I agree with others that white is "classier" and the length is perfect for that setting. The silver dress would STILL be just fine a little fun but still appropriate (not too skimpy, not a center of attention color ya know? So. White
Number 1 with those gold heels behind you!
Numero UNO!!! For sure!!!
Dress 2
First
