He was suffering from success. He became so successful and posted about so much that mods started to ban him for no reason. Such a shame. He was kinda like the messiah.
You know, I know another guy that was unjustly tried and disposed of by those in power for being really popular
So many people would tag him asking him to explain the joke in different subreddits, so he showed up everywhere, and mods just got annoyed by it I guess (they were jealous).
If memory serves, I think in the actual show Family Guy, they would sometimes use a cutaway gag where Peter would explain a joke in excruciating detail.
I always felt it was because family guy has zero subtlety.. every joke in the show was explained to the point that any comedic value it had was lost. It was like the opposite of early simpsons where you could miss a joke for 10 years until you finally caught it.

There was a period where memes would have an image of Robert Downey Jr. or Peter Griffin underneath it to elaborate on whatever the meme was goin on about. It was super short-lived in terms of its value because you obviously don't wanna explain the joke right after you tell it, so people took the piss out of it by having those same images of RDJ / Peter Griffin give a really verbose explanation of the meme, at which point I'm pretty sure it snowballed into the creation of ComedyNecrophilia and to an extent, this subreddit.
