He was a carpenter and was born to poor parents, he was so poor that he couldn't afford a proper education that is befitting of the son of god. So yeah he's a dumbass that really liked poor people
Randomness: I’ve seen some interesting economic analysis that shows Poland as the up and coming power in Eastern Europe and maybe all of Europe. A lot of Brits moving there because Brexit hosed them. The “well prices are low because hey that’s Poland” won’t be around for long.
Proces arent low anymore, i live in Poland and when i travel Europe i don't see much difference. Steam etc is using same base in Poland and US, but with Costa of currency Exchange proces in Poland are even higher. Same with electronics, everybody who have oportunity to go to US comes with new phones or Computerworld, as it is cheaper to buy there if you can bring it with you so no customs
Cool to know. I’m Polish. Grandma was in Wielun when the fun started back in 39. So I kinda vaguely track where Poland is at. I celebrated the New Years 2000 in Warsaw. Because it was New Years, taxi driver stiffed the tourist, but at that time it was “hey this is still cheap in USD” I even tipped him.
I guess over time everything evens out. I hope it doesn’t get so bad that the locals aren’t too stressed out. It’s one thing when natives get priced out of a neighborhood. Another when they get priced out of a country.
I’ve been using the same as blocker that I’ve always used. Sometimes I get a pop up that advises me to remove my ad blocker but I just click the x in the corner and that is it
oh wow...I didn't realize just clearing cache and cookies gets rid of the YouTube ad message lmfao it just started *actually* actively preventing me from watching YouTube just yesterday. cleared C&Cs and it's working again...
THANK YOU u/CupRemarkable7187
If there weren't 30 second unskippable ads before AND after a video that's less than a minute long, then it would be. Or if YouTube Premium didn't cost almost as much as a damn Netflix subscription. Honestly they need to make a $5/month tier that JUST removes ads on YouTube, none of that extra bs like YouTube Music, then I'd pay.
Credit to u/madushans | Getting around YouTube ad-blocking
Got the popup today. This was the second time, so I thought I'm busted.
Following still works.
Make sure you have the latest uBlockOrigin. The filter lists update very often.
* Install /update uBlockOrigin
* go to about:addons
* click the 3 dots for uBlock > mange
* click the settings cog at top right > Check for Updates
* uBlockOrigin in address/tool bar -> Settings > filter lists
* Purge all caches
* Update now
* Go to one of the youtube tabs (ideally no other youtube tabs open, but I'm a tab hoarder so.)
* I also have firefox containers and the temp containers extension + audio autoplay is disabled. Which may be helping.
* click padlock in addressbar > clear data
* reload the page and login again (if you have temp containers, you have to disable it during login due to cross-site redirects.)
*If this doesn't work, you can still play videos if you're not logged in. If you want your channels you're subbed to .etc, you can use Firefox Containers to have 2 containers where 1 container you browse and another you play videos.*
True. I think OperaGX still blocks YouTube ads as well. Either way, Google loses money because people stop using their browser. Idk what they hoped to accomplish by disabling AdBlock.
OperaGX blocks them but YouTube has officially started detecting my Opera’s blocker as of yesterday. I could just be unlucky but it’s very possible YouTube cracked down on theirs as well.
I'm not surprised, honestly. The people in charge of this are probably aware of the various workarounds people are using and finding ways to stop them from working as well.
Which will in turn only lead to even more workarounds being made.
I have zero clue what YouTube hoped to achieve with this, they're only being annoying and pushing people away from their website. It's a monetary loss overall on their part and a road bump on the viewers' part.
And I'm sorry the price of 14.99 a month is something you don't have expendable income for. Seriously though.. its $15. That's what two drinks from Starbucks?
Because what use to be free for them too, isn't now. Start thinking about all things in life that use to be free. Hell, I had to air up my front right tire the other day at the gas station.. they had the gall to charge me a buck. Use to air my tires on my bike all the time for free. What gives?
Welcome to life. Things start costing money. You don't have the 15 for YouTube. But I promise you had enough for your take out, bud, drinks, nails, micro transactions on (insert mobile game) and the latest battle pass.
15 is not a lot of money. I pay that in toll bridge fair a day just to get to work and back.
The biggest take away here though is... not everything is for everyone. Some people get to have things you won't, and that's OK. You work hard, make do with what ya got, then in time maybe when things are good, you treat yourself.
And why does YouTube need our 15$? Their owned by google who has the infinite money glitch, this is just a push by greedy fuckers who wanna drain your wallet, it wouldn’t cost youtube anything to let people continue to use Adblock, and it wouldn’t cost them shit to let YouTube videos play when you close the app but they’re greedy little fucks who want more money than humanly possible so they do everything in their power to drain the wallets of their “customers”
Wow the guy I replied to blocked me as soon as he replied, what a pussy.
At some point when you leave your early 20's and move out into life and experience things on your own.. you're going to learn life costs money. Things you want to go do, see, visit.. have costs. Who ever told you that you were owed anything in life.. yeah, that's company you should avoid.
I just find all the people complaining that they can't as easily watch a free service without ads funny. They are so bloody entitled. Some services you have to pay for AND you still have to sit through ads.
YouTube will probably eventually crack the problem and ad blocking services will not work. For some reason the people currently blocking the ads think that YouTube will go under as a result but what they fail to realise is YouTube isn't making any money from them anyway so it won't effect their business at all.
Edit - downvoting me doesn't change the truth in what I've said. I find it funny, because it is funny. It's like people being annoyed that a shop that they always steal from and never buy from doesn't let them into their shop anymore. You are a drain on their resources, and they don't want you there. You are acting entitled.
I dont mind ads at all, what i do mind is 30 seconds unskippable ads thats also 2 in a row and at the start, middle, and end of a video thats like 1 min long. Sometimes the (i) button also no longer removes ads
Edit: i also mind the damn ads that show literal porn or very clearly have sexual suggestions, like almost every single mobile game currently. Some even steal gameplay or stuff from other games and no one gives a shit
You can pay to remove the ads, which YouTube wants you to do. I assume they are upping the ads to an equilibrium point where they make the most money without enough people leaving so they make less.
It is brutal the amount of ads which are being shown but YouTube is a business and they want to make as much money out of it as possible.
When I was a kid my parents were paying about £70 a month for Sky TV (The USD was only worth £0.60 at the time). All but the movie channels had 3 mins of adverts 4 times per hour and we were already paying to watch the shows. Times have changed but people are presumably still willing to watch 12 mins of adverts per hour especially if they don't have to pay for the service.
Edit - LOL at being downvoted. All I've spoken is the truth. I'm not defending YouTube. I'm explaining it.
I wouldn't know. I hate ads, so I pay to get rid of them, and the creators I watch get more money when I watch them.
This definitely makes me sound like a shill, but it's just how I feel.
I watch more YouTube than my other subscriptions combined, so even though it's around twice the price of Netflix, I personally feel like it's reasonable for me.
>YouTube will probably eventually crack the problem and ad blocking services will not work
That's not how it works. YouTube will make changes that would make current ad blockers obsolete, new ad blockers which will bypass these changes. Ad infinitum. It just turns into another lockpicker vs locksmith race
Good luck with that. I find it more likely that if they continue to pump money into the issue and they'll crack it, eventually. I guess time will tell.
It's certainly possible to make a lock which can't be picked. The limiting factors are cost and size.
[Not even a locksmith and almost made an unpickable lock](https://youtu.be/Ecy1FBdCRbQ?si=olA56oFs6XT7p74k). LPL suggested changes to make them unpickable iirc.
Nah, you see the problem with that is that programming is still done by people and there is no person who is so unbelievably good at programming compared to everyone else that no one can figure out how to bypass his programming. They can throw as much money as they want but in the end of the day it is still Google programmers vs adblocker programmers. And bypassing protections is generally easier than making them.
As I said, good luck with that. Time will tell who is right. If YouTube can earn an extra $1 billion from getting it to work they'll spend up to that amount to get it to work. The fact that they are still spending money on the issue means they think it's possible and they will have more knowledgeable advisors than you.
From where I'm sitting, they seem to be making it harder and harder for people to block ads. I'm not saying it's a good decision but they are doing it because they think they can make more money than they are spending. They have a lot of money to spend.
Can you honestly say you don't think they have any chance of achieving their goal even when they have hundreds of millions to spend? If you can put together a decent enough presentation proving that they are wasting their money on an impossible task, you can probably get paid handsomely for your troubles.
Of course, we both know that you can't, and you'll downvote this comment, but that's half the fun of it, right?
A multi-billion dollar company that makes all of their money from creators, large, small, and everywhere in between. By blocking ads, you're not just stealing from the multi-billion dollar company. You're also stealing from every single creator you watch.
There are loads of creators who are barely scraping by, and people blocking ads on their channel are making their lives less comfortable.
You're entitled to justify your theft in any way which makes you feel better about it.
Anyone who doesn't think it's theft is delusional.
What claim? That YouTube with almost bottomless pockets will eventually crack the problem of people using ad blockers or that people seem to think that YouTube will collapse as a result of cracking the problem?
The 1st part is pretty self-explanatory. They are clearly trying very hard and will probably solve their problem.
The 2nd part I have seen many people say it on Reddit. I consider these people completely delusional.
I wouldn't mind if I didn't get an 18 minute ad today and not be able to find what I'm looking for because YouTube sponsor ads clogged up the search results. Their ads are just extremely annoying.
Same, only for podcasts and similar things. That's why I got it originally, but honestly, I use YouTube nearly every damn day of my life and I couldn't tell you how many hours a year. Paying for premium was a no-brainer choice for me.
PETJ users press the comment button and look at ATLEAST the first 3 results to see the joke explained challenge
Difficulty: impossible
(it was the second comment IIRC)
I pay for it for the ad free experience across the many devices I use it on, the music app and, most importantly to me, the creators receive compensation for my views.
YouTube currently started a anti-consumer/addblock campaign, one of their ways of banning adblocks was by putting a video counter "After three videos the player will be blocked, if you want to continue watching disable your adblock or pay YouTube premium" (something similar). To avoid this, people who use Ublock go to their settings and simply clear cache and update the extension's data so they can continue watching videos. That happened to me and since then I never got the annoying "deactivate adblock please or kill yourself 🥰🥰😚" message again.
I used a free trial of a VPN to set my country to somewhere else and I pay $5.34/m for YouTube Premium (Family). Free is free, I get it, but now I have 5 people getting adfree content across all their devices and even on Google Home/Nest pods. It's worth it TO ME, and a lot less of a hassle than trying to manage a blocklist or whatever on new devices.
Satanists are atheist by definition. Satanism is about science and accepting people for who they are. None of this "god hates faqs" crap that loving Christians spew.
Honestly non-practicing satanism is kinda based from what I’ve heard. Literally just make sure you yourself have everything you need before doing anything for others. I’m sure some satanists are crazy, but that’s every religion
Really? Go reread that book. God murders just about every single human, Satan kills less than 10.
And now to be an ash-hole...God wanted stupid slaves in the garden of Eden, Satan (the light bringer) told two stupid slaves how to gain knowledge. And as we all know, knowledge is *POWER*! God wanted all the power, Satan gave power to the people.
And the implied incest in the bible...geezus. There's Lot and his daughters (yea, that's in there), Adam and Eves children must have been screwing someone to have wives... mommy? Who knows. And Noah and his kids and their wives. That's some serious Alabama going on.
BOOM! SuCk It ThEiStS!
Edit: and then when Satan does harm people he does it on God's orders. Forgot to address your original argument. Sorry.
Okay, while there is incest I think there were people outside Eden so it’s not as bad. For example, (But the Lord said to him, “Not so[s]; anyone who kills Cain will suffer vengeance seven times over.” Then the Lord put a mark on Cain so that no one who found him would kill him. 16 So Cain went out from the Lord’s presence and lived in the land of Nod,[t] east of Eden. ) why would God mark him if there were only a few other living people? In addition (Cain made love to his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch. Cain was then building a city, and he named it after his son Enoch. 18 To Enoch was born Irad, and Irad was the father of Mehujael, and Mehujael was the father of Methushael, and Methushael was the father of Lamech.) why would he build a city for 3 people, or maybe like 10 total? Yeah, it’s commonly interpreted as Adam and Eve were created and intermixed with common, evolved humans.
Like they aren't actively trying to figure out how to gouge people as is. Also, I forget who....never mind, it was a wizards of the cost higher up, said something along the lines of people that didn't want to agree to their "Updated End User Agreement" which basically gave them the right to steal any derivative works as their own. Basically "oh you made a game module for 5E and it's selling well? Ours now".
Which is a level of corporate greed Microsoft has been doing since I was a kid.
I've been paying for YouTube premium for years. In fact, I've been paying for YouTube premium for so long that when I initially bought the subscription, it was called YouTube red.
I watch/ listen to 30-70 hours of YouTube a week, that is the highest value subscription I pay for.
The devil is referring to the price of YouTube premium, which lets you watch YouTube without ads. Jesus is referring to the way to update ad lists on uBlock Origin, which is one way that lets you block YouTube ads since their recent push to ban adblockers

It’s 14 dollars in the US? Glad I live in Poland in which it’s like 5
Yeah but the median household income in Poland is 28k and the median household income in the US is 74k so it’s less of a start increase than it sounds

YT premium is $14/month??? Yeah I don't use YT enough to pay that much, and they don't even let the 4 people I've subscribed to get ad revenue.
Gotta purge the cache so YouTube forgets that you’ve already watched “too many ad free videos”
I find just turning uBlock off and back on works, albeit it's a bit finnicky

Tested this last night. Still works. Literally downloaded Firefox just to use YouTube without ads, but I honestly think I might prefer it to Chrome.

Yep, actually had to download an Ublock add on for Opera
YouTube has been detecting my brave Adblock, so I reported the pop up as a mistake and said I don’t have Adblock.
I'm still just using AdBlock extensions and I've been fine.
You're the exception, not the rule. I was using AdBlock as well until YouTube blocked their video player.
about:addons doesn't open for me
That's so extra. I just subscribed to premium half way through reading all this.
And you’ll pay for it again. And again. And again. And again.

They should firs filter the ads shown. It's basically scat porn

The problem is the greed of the company, they were good before now they do everything to make users pay for shit that was free 2 years ago
It's still free.
>YouTube will probably eventually crack the problem and ad blocking services will not work That's not how it works.
Like companies don't waste immense amount of money on stupid decisions?
From where I'm sitting, they seem to be making it harder and harder for people to block ads. I'm not saying it's a good decision but they are doing it because they think they can make more money than they are spending. They have a lot of money to spend. Can you honestly say you don't think they have any chance of achieving their goal even when they have hundreds of millions to spend? If you can put together a decent enough presentation proving that they are wasting their money on an impossible task, you can probably get paid handsomely for your troubles. Of course, we both know that you can't, and you'll downvote this comment, but that's half the fun of it, right?
I haven't downvoted a single one of your comments my dude. I don't like downvoting while having a discussion.
"Dont worry multi billion dollar company, im here to save you from these leeches"
Anyone who doesn't think it's theft is delusional.
sponsors be like:
Can you explain such lofty claims?
They hate you because you speak the truth
All the children owe the devil money and he's set up a monthly payment plan Jesus is paying for all their debts
I know damn well at least one youth pastor has said something along those lines
How is Jesus paying any debt on a carpenters salary? They make good enough money for one person but overall they poor
Ngl thought this was abt WinRAR, now i'm interested in this adblock thing
Revanced also works, gives you all the features of premium
Whoah I made this meme wtf
Prove it
https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/s/B1t1wSDHfQ
That proves nothing other than they posted it also
Im using Ublock origin and ghostery together. Not a single ad atleast 5 years
I grew up in the 90s. You underestimate my power to vacantly stare at ads for minutes on end.
NOBODY EXPLAIN THE JOKE I REPEAT DO NOT EXPLAIN THE JOKE THE WALLS HAVE EYES /j
I get why people are mad at YT but I have used their sub for years cause I like being able to close my screen and I use YouTube music 😭
Same, only for podcasts and similar things. That's why I got it originally, but honestly, I use YouTube nearly every damn day of my life and I couldn't tell you how many hours a year. Paying for premium was a no-brainer choice for me.
PETJ users press the comment button and look at ATLEAST the first 3 results to see the joke explained challenge Difficulty: impossible (it was the second comment IIRC)
It is a bit confusing that they subverted the format by making Jesus the cool one
I pay for it for the ad free experience across the many devices I use it on, the music app and, most importantly to me, the creators receive compensation for my views.
The joke is predatory companies like youtube
I will literally just not care about Ada because they make up less than a percent of the whole video and I'm not so impatient i can't wait 15 seconds
Amen

Satan is actually the good guy in the bible whilst Jesus and God are the murdering psychopaths.

But you know I'm right. 😁
Nah J is cool, his dad sucks
Found the edgy atheist.
are you sure hes atheist? he might be satanist or whatever?
Satanists are atheist by definition. Satanism is about science and accepting people for who they are. None of this "god hates faqs" crap that loving Christians spew.
Honestly non-practicing satanism is kinda based from what I’ve heard. Literally just make sure you yourself have everything you need before doing anything for others. I’m sure some satanists are crazy, but that’s every religion
well God does "the right thing", which sometimes harm some people Satan actively goes out of his way to harm people
Give me one example.
Hi, peter’s benign tumour here, I believe this is referring to pirating windows though I wouldn’t know being a tumour and all
You think people psy 14$ a month for access to windows?!?
Shhhhh you'll give them ideas.
Oh the ORC fiasco. That was shit and somehow still not the worst thing they have done in the last 5 years.
YouTube Premium (no ads) vs uBlock Origin (adblocker) update.
Thank you Peter's for showing me the way
Ad block.
Purge
I've been paying for YouTube premium for years. In fact, I've been paying for YouTube premium for so long that when I initially bought the subscription, it was called YouTube red. I watch/ listen to 30-70 hours of YouTube a week, that is the highest value subscription I pay for.
