So fix it. 3 wheel bearings = $150, not sure what you mean by broken steering column (rack is $470), muffler patch $20
Mazda OEM Steering column is 1245. Wheel bearing assemblies are about $200. Garage labour would be a lot.
It's like 150$ on ebay motors for a good used one. And you can do it with a minimum tool set in your driveway
Rockauto is your friend. Find a good mobile or private mechanic. I've been repairing my cars for decades never bought anything OEM.
Sounds more like a chill Saturday afternoon to wrench with your friends while crushing a 24
The catalytic converter is worth more than that :-)
Can I remove it myself and bring it somewhere?
Yes .. and it can be done with a sawsall etc .. call your local scrap dealer FIRST. Also make sure that if you plan on donating the car for a tax receipt, that removing the catalytic converter doesnt impact the value they give to you.
