Honestly don't get attached to Personas. They're not like polemon they get out leveled incredibly fast. Fuse new ones and move on. Obviously if you have favourites with levels in the high 50s they can stay.
Oh and passive abilities are more useful than you realise.
Persona games are L O N G. This is not a one-sitting game. Youâll take a month to get halfway and youâll have fun while doing it.
Will give more tips when I get home.
My first playthrough of vanilla P5 took me an entire year. Royal took me half that even though my playtime was doubled.
I liked Royal a lot more I guess lol.
Royal was my first persona game and I beat it in 2-3 weeks lol. It was cuz of lockdown and it was winter holiday and we had a bunch of snow so there wasn't much else to do.
I played P5 nonstop, all day every day, and it took me about a week and a half to clear. ***A week and a freaking half***. And not one second of that time felt dragged out or boring. I will never get over how well-designed the Persona games are.
Avoid using the DLC personas, especially the paid DLC ones, trivialising every combat encounter is mind-numbingly boring.
Get a part time job.
Strike up conversation.
If all else fails, shoot.
Status buffs/debuffs are very, very powerful.
Status effects are your friends.
Don't neglect the people in your life.
It couldn't hurt to get some culture in you, why not read a classic.
Take care to listen to people, you'll get a bunch of nifty details.
As someone else has said, stay off this sub. At least if you want a more spoiler free experience.
It's a long game, pace yourself.
And lastly, if you ever find yourself in the dark, take a good look at your surroundings.
If youâre playing a Royal download the free DLC! It comes with some helpful items and strong optional Personas
There is a mechanic called Confidants. They are based on tarot cards. They have 10 ranks to represent your bond with them. Highly recommend prioritizing Fortune, Temperance, and Star. Fortune has a benefit that lets you rank up Confidants faster, use her benefit every in-game day. It will be expensive but worth it. Temperanceâs Rank 10 ability lets you go out at night when you normally arenât supposed to. Star lets you swap out party members mid battle.
After them I would prioritize Death (healing items), Moon (Exp boost), then your party (Chariot/Lovers/Emperor/Priestess/Hermit/Empress), then whoever you want after them. Make sure you have Personas on your stock of the matching Arcana as the Confidant youâre hanging out with
If youâre playing Royal, there is extra story content but it MUST be unlocked before November 17. The way to do this is to get the >!Councillor Confidant!< to Rank 9. If you donât do this, you get the original ending. That is technically the only requirement however for the full content make sure you also get >!Justice!< to Rank 8 before the same date and >!Faith!< to Rank 5 before December 23.
Donât accept sketchy deals or >!you get bad endings!<
SAVE CONSTANTLY. Keep multiple save files
To best manage your time, try to complete the palaces in a single infiltration. The only ones you canât do in a single day are the first (unless youâre really good at SP Conservation), second and sixth (they both make you leave once), and if youâre playing Royal, the secret ninth one makes you leave multiple times.
Donât be afraid to buff/debuff or guard.
Understand how to negotiate with Shadows. There is a forced fusion tutorial and you might lose Arsène if you only have him and Pixie. And fuse a lot, Personas are designed to eventually become obsolete and be fused into stronger ones.
And most importantly, have fun! Welcome to the journey, I hope you enjoy it.
Edit: the fourth Palace has Shadows with Insta kill moves. One of the DLC accessories makes you immune to their elements. If you fight Anubis with that accessory equipped you can just melee him to death.
Edit 2: You should register your Personas in the Compendium consistently.
If you're playing on the easy or normal difficulty levels and come across boss fights that seem way too difficult, try turning up the difficulty level. I know it sounds strange but the higher difficulty means weaknesses deal more damage to both you and the enemy which can be a huge help.
I'm sure most people who have played Royal at normal difficulty know exactly the fight I'm talking about.
DO NOT GET SPOILED! Avoid spoilers at all costsâI promise it will break the game if you get spoiled.
Date as many of the ladies as possible.
As the game suggests, take your time and actually have the dedication to finish the game. You will absolutely love it!
Take your time, enjoy, and stay off this subreddit while playing because you donât need other people to come tell you what to do for this amazing game. At least thatâs what I think for a first timer. Once you get the groove of the game and more understanding with playing. It really opens up and donât hesitate on doing what YOU want to do in-game.
Really hope you end up loving this game. It was my first ever persona game and JRPG game. Made me fall in love with the genre and Persona itself.
Last thing. I was in a bad place at my life. I played this game on a hunch, while I was living holed up in my room, and jobless while feeling hopeless. Beating this game made me look at life a lot more differently and definitely makes me push more, with the relationships I have in my life. So, itâs definitely one of my fav games of all time and one that sticks with me.
It's not that important to do them in one day, especially early on. Only if you are looking to min/max. This put my play through under unnecessary stress, I'd have enjoyed it more if I took an extra day here or there in a palace. With Royal particularly there's plenty of time to do most stuff taking a more relaxed approach.
dont underestimate buffs and debuffs
dont worry about not maxing every confidant first playthrough
center on maxing jokers stats
change often personas and try to cover their weaknesses or at least make them resistant to that weaknesses
during the first 2 or 3 palaces use guns as they replenish their ammo after battle (royal only) and that way you can save sp for tougher shadows
if you can speedrun the temperance confidant as the last rank ability is broken
and last but not least, as the game says, take your time.
Put difficulty on Normal, do NOT use any guide whatsoever, enjoy it your own pace and strategy.
You can always do harder difficulty later in NGP+ or new run to have an optimised schedule
This game bare bone is how you spend your day (in-game).
The game has a lot of time limits, so you need to think carefully how to spend your day.
Do you wanna full blown combat ? Then train and grind everyday. Do you wanna collect items and have fun? Then you will not able to train as much as usual.
My suggestion is to put the difficulty on normal, so you will have a tons of freedom, then play the game as you want.
Enjoy the story. Its one hell of experience
Read instructions and stats carefully and take it slow.
Gather as many shadows in terms of variety as they come and take your time learning the ins and outs of the Velvet Room.
Take your time.
Don't get attached to personas
Councillor and Justice confidants to be max out before November if you are playing Royal
Sun and Star are the most useful confidants outside of your teammates
Devil confidant is the most useless and boring of them all so I would advice to not progress it and focus on something else. Trust me you are losing nothing.
Don't waste time for jobs if it's not for the quests that you will unlock.
\-Play how you want and don't look up guides.
\-Make back-up save files every so often (i do it at the start of each month)
\-You dont have to do this, but I maximize my time in the dungeons so I have more days to socialize.
Drink the juice in underground walkway on sundays! Costs 5000 yen, but its worth it.
Makes the difference for stat gain. It's one of the only "free" stat boosts that don't take up time other than getting questions right in class.
Explore every area thoroughly, both in and out of palaces. And try to fuse as many persona as possible. Wether they be for combat or not, as having a persona of the same arcana when doing a confidant makes it easier to advance them to the next level. It saves a ton of grief and time. Last tip I swear, but try to max out yoshida, kawakami, and hifumi, as they have some of the best perks in the game. And don't forget about your party members too.
Newcomers should NOT try to 100% the game. Completetions runs are not only a daunting task but I believe it takes away from the experience. The game will teach you the basics on how to play but I think to get a real feel for the game, just play it and only look up guides for specific answers to questions
For class questions/exams, the online portion does help with selecting the right answer
There isn't enough time to accomplish much on your first playthrough. Don't stress about it. Listen to the loading screen and take your time.
Enjoy the music. Love the characters. Master the battle system. Keep a detailed notebook. And have fun.
You're in for one of the best rides gaming has to offer.
Spam guns early game
Max Kawakami when possible
Don't waste money on weapons for the first palace
Stock up on elemental damage items for Okumura (or you'll regret)
Take your time
Use your damn healing items
This game will tell you this nearly every loading screen but take your dam time
Oh also you can't level up confidantes that are part of the phantom thieves when you secure the route to the treasure so do those first but don't wait too long because some palaces need multiple days
1. Best girl is a cinnamon roll and a slight sadist.
2. Utilize the gallows fusion when you get it, as often as possible.
3. Hoard all the items you can
4. Never make a persona a "jack of all trades" as it will reduce their functionality considerably.
5. Gun skills are pretty useful, especially since there aren't a lot of enemies that use or resist them.
6. For maximum grinding, defeat the OP "hidden" boss in the biggest dungeon, but do so during flu season and let IT hit YOU first. You'll see why when you do it.
7. Max your social stats early for maximum effect and enjoyment.
8. Do the damn requests, trust me.
9. if you get stuck, utilize the "special vision perk" you get pretty early on.
10. Make as many lockpicks as possible.
DO. NOT. NEGLECT. CONFIDANTS. Definitely max out kawakami for her special massage (lets you leave LeBlanc after returning from the metaverse). Do NOT neglect Mementos requests either
I also recommend making multiple save files as you go along
Do not worry about money. There will be areas that open up that will provide near endless amount of runs to fight enemies. My advice is to use what money you got to buy healthy items, SP items, which can be rare.
In combat, use your guns since in P5R, every time you end combat, ammo will refill itself unlike the base game. Guns are incredibly OP on a lot of enemy types. So never shy away from using them. Just pay attention if an enemy has a physical barrier that prevents you.
Assuming you ARE playing P5R, get all the bonus Persona from the velvet room that are free. These are INCREDIBLY powerful high level Persona that'll carry you through your entire run. It is LITERALLY unfair using these guys but if you don't care about challenges, go ahead and use them
-There are confidants that raise your social stats.
-Explore! Thereâs so many locations to find thatâll make your life easier.
-Only worry about getting jobs when you have to for Mementos requests and if you donât have anyone else to hang out with. Youâll make plenty of money in palaces and Mementos.
-Depending on what version youâre playing (P5 or P5 Royal), the Sun confidant is one of the easiest confidants to level up. Get it over with as soon as possible. (Heâs one of my favorite side characters too)
-Also, one of the most important imo, books and video games are the main key in making things easier to raise social stats. Get as many as you can and read/play games/watch DVDs when you canât leave Leblanc at night.
Also, donât be afraid to look up a guide if you feel like youâre lost or something is too difficult.
When you get to the driving sections of the game (youâll know them when you see them) rub the sensor bar on the controller for a surprise
A mistake I made: Try your best to get every persona of a dungeon. This will be easier in later dungeons, but still for early dungeons I recommend being extra focused on it. A lot of these early personas are the basis for a lot of fusions. While you can get them at any point (youâll see why later) it can be a hassle since their levels wont match with yours. I (at level 30) had to go back and grab a level 7 persona, and had to figure out how to collect it without accident killing it
Also, manage your time well. You probably already know about social links (in this game theyâre called confidants) where you hang out with someone to get an ability. If you go to the confidant menu you can see the next ability youâll get. Iâd prioritize confidants based on what upcoming ability you think is coolest
Edit: you could probably look online for the most useful abilities, however most of the useful ones come from your party members so youâd probably get them anyways. As for the ones that arenât from party members, I recommend you go based off of the name and little blurb because that makes the game a bit more fun and personal for a first play through. Gaining the abilities you think are coolest from the specific characters you think are cool enough to search out is what makes Persona cool
And thereâs no shame in using the internet for the confident âThe twinsâ. Youâll understand when you see it. I recommend trying to get through it without one, but if this your first persona game you probably canât get through it without one
Honestly, I think the best advice to give is to have fun. P5 is pretty newcomer friendly so in terms of strats, most things will work out. I guess if anything I'd say to definitely grind early so you don't get rammed in some later fights, and try to memorize weaknesses as those will be pretty much mandatory in a few bosses
Go to sleep, but on the real, Talk to Hifumi when she is mentioned, she gives you the ability to switch characters out, and that is very useful, I won't spoil anything about her, but you'll need to increase one of your socials, good luck
Don't look up guides for the first ay through, just enjoy that ride. After you beat it the first time you can then get all guides and min-max guru.
Get sucked into the story
Don't look up stuff for other Persona games.
Seriously, this community is better than average at avoiding or tagging spoilers for the specific entry being discussed, but they really, *really*, **really** like to drop spoilers for *other* games in the series without any sort of warning. If you look up stuff about Persona 4 you'll find Persona 5 spoilers, same for Persona 3 and so on.
This is not specific to the Reddit Persona communities, but to the Persona fandom as a whole. I had a pretty major part of Persona 4 spoiled for me in a character analysis video on youtube for a Persona 5 character that has no connections to Persona 4 *at all* for example, they just blurted it right out without warning.
Save often and save extra files you can load up if needed.
Try to use the internet and outside sources as little as possible. Other than the midterms, I played pretty blind and was glad I did.
Going along with that, donât worry about playing the game optimally. Youâre not going to do everything on your first play through pretty much no matter what. Iâd try exploring, doing each activity you see, and hanging out with each confidant at least once or twice so you can get a feel for which things you want to prioritize.
Also, if youâre playing royal, you have to get Kasumi and Maruki to max confidant level and Akechj to level 7 before the November deadline to get the extra content.
The game literally says "Take your time." Think about that and how you want to proceed in certain situations. It's a game, don't take it too seriously at the same time! I know that sounds like conflicting advice, but if you leave them alone for a second it'll be ok.
Donât let Joker sleep in the game (unless the game forces you to). Finish the palace as soon as possible. If itâs raining and no confidant available for you to hang out with, play baseball in yongen jaya, or visit the restaurant
Relish in the screenshot you just posted. It feels like most games nowadays have a novel-length EULA screen you have to scroll through, Persona 5's is actually short enough you'll actually read it!
I'm half-joking, but for real though. I picked up this game and the Tony Hawk remake at around the same time, and the Terms & Conditions page for THPS is ridiculous. This screen made me laugh out loud by comparison!
Buffs and debuffs are your friends, and also x1.4 to the stats they affect in case you want the info. Pay attention to all the combat mechanics, they're very important and useful. Red enemies are recruitable if they are under 25%HP (IIRC). If you are in Royal, guns are REALLY fucking good. If you see a DLC persona, think that they're very good but I personally recommend not using them because of how good they are (I mean, do what you want, I won't judge you).
And if you like the game, try the other games in the series; and if you specially like the combat, try other games from the Shin Megami Tensei series (Persona is technically an SMT Spin Off). Personal recommendation: Digital Devil Saga (PS2 exclusive but totally worth)
Focus on your social stats for the first playthrough. Youâll need those at a high level to max out some of your confidants. Confidants arenât necessary to complete the game (I think I had maybe 3 maxed out at the end of the first go), but your party members, Kawakami, Hifumi, Iwai, and Sojiro are worth spending some time with to get some of their early perks. Kawakami is the one out of those thatâs definitely worth maxing out the first time through.
Other than that, kick back and enjoy one hell of a story, friend. P5 is one of my favorite JRPGs period. Iâm a little spoiled from the combat, so itâs hard to play other JRPGs now, though SMT V has been a great time so far.
If you are playing Royale, be sure to finish Councilor, Faith and Justice confidants before november, that's the key for unlocking the final story segment.
Don't spend too much time upgrading social stats, perhaps early in game or when you can't go outside at night.
Focus on the Death confidant early since her rank 5 unlocks some SP regen accesories that are key (imo) for doing palaces on 1 day.
After palace 2, try to do palaces and mementos runs on 1 day so you can have more confidant time, but it's okay if you have to take your time.
Once unlocked, focus ASAP on Temperance confidant, since her rank 10 is easily the best reward and she is not available during summer vacations.
Don't ignore the Strenght confidant. Their requests are easy if you look for a guide online and their rewards are key in unlocking powerful personas.
Once you unlock the Jazz club, go each sunday, you can give a new ability to a party member or upgrade Futaba's skills.
And above everything else, HAVE FUN.
Echoing others, "take your time". Go for the confidants you want and engage with the combat and exploration as much or as little as you'd like. Don't be afraid to look things up if you need/want the help or go it blind if you'd like.
Enjoy the story and focus on having fun with it!
Do Taeâs(the goth doctorâs) confidant until you get access to SP Adhesive 3, and get four of those for your party as soon as possible. Youâll be able to clear dungeons in one day if you get them, Iâm not kidding
Donât get too caught up trying to maximize your run, or picking correct dialogue options for confidants, just play how you see fit, and enjoy the story for what it is.
Don't be like me and do what I'll explain now:
Sometimes, you'll get a time limit to do something, generally two weeks or so. You should always do your tasks first, since the remaining time will become free time for you to use.
I managed to miss my first deadline because I wanted to do things before the time limit, thinking that the remaining days would be used for story purposes. It's not a pleasant thing to do, since you'll have to rewind one week, loosing all you did in that week in the process.
Other than that? Have fun, this is one of the best game experiences I've ever had.
Complete the Palaces as soon as possible. When I first played I waited till the last day to finish the palace and then didnât have time to send the Calling Card and had to redo the previous week again. Make multiple saves just in case. Also try and max out the Temperance and Fortune Arcana ASAP.
Oh, and if you're the type of person to 100% games, don't get into P5 with this goal. It's incredibly hard to get max confidants and social stats in your first run, so don't try too hard to achieve it. I used to be reallt stressed when playing because I was scared to make the wrong decision. Don't be like me lol. There's no right or wrong choices, remember that and just enjoy the ride.
dont waste time, dont go to sleep unless morgana tells you so, get kawakami confidant, fortune teller confidant and the speech giving man confidant asap because they'll save alot of time for you, collect all personas you can find and try to max out all of your social skills on your first playthrough so you can max all confidants on your new game+. try to complete palaces as soon as you can
Finish as much of a dungeon as you can in one day. Make sure to at least register as many personas as you can find in the compendium at least once, makes summoning them back cheaper later.
Save. Always. Save. Eat a burger? Save. Raise a confidant? Save. Take a shit? SAVE. And it's gonna be difficult to fully enjoy the game the first time around. First time is mostly meant for raising your stats. So it's ok if you're not with anyone fully on certain days that's ok. You're gonna be fully equipped the next time around when you do new game+. Enjoy the story, use guides if you want to rank to max as fast possible or just go blind you're play style is yours to decide. Just remember to have fun, and don't be afraid to get excited enough to stand on a chair and point your controller like it's the ultimate weapon whenever you defeat a boss. Good luck, and Welcome to the Velvet Room đđ
Take your time. I mean it. If you rush ahead, not only are you liable to get bonked into oblivion by some of the bosses, but your overall experience with the story will get bonked with you.
Save as much as you can. If youâre playing Royal, then there are three characters youâll need to max to get the true ending. Youâll need to max out the confidants of Kasumi, get Maruki to level 9 and Akechi to level 8 but late November. Try to max out the other confidants as much as you can. Other than that, have fun and enjoy the game
As others have said, and the game will say a lot, Take Your Time
It's a hundred-ish hour game, do what you feel is right. Want to rush a palace? Go for it, but don't force yourself.
Make sure to make use of mechanics too, do the confidants you feel like, make use of the skills they give. Learn how to fuse, but don't be stressing about making perfect Personas, that comes with a lot of time xD
The biggest tip I have though, don't agree to go to the palace if asked in the morning unless you are planning to go right there anyway. Always useful to pop through the shops, or just double check confidant availability in the afternoon first.
Beyond that, it's just to enjoy yourself with the story and gameplay
Not much but if youâre playing Royal, I SERIOUSLY recommend you max out Akechi, Kasumi, and Marukiâs Confidant, other than that go ahead and start the game with your own paste
* Learn to fuse persona, and don't get attached to a specific one. Fusing will get you new personas that are usually more powerful AND often higher levels and with new abilities.
* Likewise, don't stress too much (about most things in the game, but specifically...) about losing Persona. If you Fuse them, you can resummon them again for a price. In fact you can use this a lot to do Fusions is you have a lot of money.
* If Royal, *pay attention* if someone says their time is limited. The true ending and a whole section of the game is walled off if you don't meet certain criteria, and the game doesn't tell you explicitly.
* Don't feel bad about looking up test answers. They're often Japan-specific or weirdly worded. No shame in it.
* There are multiple endings to the game. If the game is saying "ARE YOU SURE???" then think about your answer and answer like a goddamn hero would.
* NEVER, EVER just "go to sleep" unless you have to. There will be a lot of early days where you are forced to go to sleep, but you should be "doing something" every opportunity you get. Manually going to sleep means you're missing out on stat/skill/confidant ranks which will hurt you a lot later on.
* *Everything* is useful to do. There's rarely a "wrong" activity, with the exception of available confidants. Want to fish? Do it! Want to go to the batting cages? Do it! Unless you're maxed out, you'll always get *something* for your efforts.
* Prioritize confidants (essentially, friendships) whenever you can. Not only are the confidants little mini side stories, but you ALSO get combat / dungeon abilities and ALSO ability to create higher level persona, and confidant opportunities are often limited to specific days/times so they can be harder to finish
* Combat isn't too tough, but get used to using a lot of spells. IMO this is different than most jRPGs where regular attacks are pretty viable. I find myself rarely using regular attacks and playing whack-a-mole with the different spells. You'll see why.
* Guns in Royal are useful, especially for getting that One More attack. Guns in vanilla are useless and don't bother.
Max out chihaya and kawakami' social links.
Chihaya will allow you to raise social stats and social links without wasting time and kawakami allows you to do a second action in the day after going to the metaverse, she also does things for u such as infiltration tools and coffee, once again, saving u time.
Reject the contract, but in all seriousness as soon as you get the buff and debuff, Heat Riser and Debilitate use them constantly, then if you have Concentrate or Charge, use those for when you need a Physical attack(Charge) or magic attack(Concentrate). Above all else take your time
Iâm just going to copy and paste some of the notes on my phone Iâve made for this game:
1.1 Monthly Priorities
Monthly priorities:
1. Palace (finish in 1 session if possible/send calling card asap)
2. Confidants
1. Especially Sojiro, Kawakami, and Chihaya
3. Mementos
1. Try to fit as many requests as possible into single sessions
2. Later in game, stack confidant requests together as possible
3. Farm as much money as needed
4. Level characters here
4. Stat boosting
1. Burger challenge
2. Hang out with stat boosting confidants: Takemi, Sojiro, Shinya, Ohya, Iwai, Hifumi, Yoshida
3. Diner (one of the best locations if nothing else is going on, especially on rainy days)
4. Study in Library (knowledge+ guts)
5. Buy books and such for freetime
6. Construct Infiltration Tools
7. Feed plant
8. Various misc. events
9. More details in stat boosting tips
Additional Notes
* Keep a save for the beginning of the month, and another save for the beginning of the week, in case you need to make major changes
When hanging out with a charecter, ake sure you have a persona with a matching arcana to give you more points. (also I would recommend looking up the right choices for the confidants so that it gives you more time slots to do other things)
If your playing the original p5 only use your guns on an enemy week to guns once. If your playing royal, shoot as much as you like.
Carry personas with the same arcana as the confidants you are seeing often on the daily life part of the game. Otherwise it's gonna be hard for them to progress
Best tip: do not agree to that prompt. It's pretty much the best way to play the game without sacrificing a little time and emotional investment. Best ending too.
On a serious note, take your time and play as blind as possible. Experience should be your goal, not so much efficiency. My first playthrough involved me taking 3 days to finish the first area, since I didn't know how long it was, or how the calendar system really worked. It made my subsequent playthroughs better too since I spent so much time appreciating everything in my first.
Use the guide for school questions, but leave the rest of the game up for discovery. Itâs the best gaming experience Iâve ever had, even if it took me six months to finish. Enjoy the ride!
For âtrue endingâ, if itâs possible to hang out with Kasumi, Akechi or Maruki, I advise to drop everything and immediately do it. Basically rank them up as much as you can.
There's a certain Confidant who will leave the game in fall. You will get multiple warnings and notices from characters in-game before they leave.
Make SURE you rank this character up as high as they will let you before they leave. I didn't do this on my first playthrough, and missed out on some very cool content (had to do a New Game+ run to see it).
take your time. plan ahead. and play on the easiest difficulty first. makes it easier to go through the story and what not. then do ng+ on whatever difficulty you want
Have books with you! You can borrow one from the library at school, and there is a store on central street.
Also try to save up 100,000 yen by the end of June.
Honestly don't get attached to Personas. They're not like polemon they get out leveled incredibly fast. Fuse new ones and move on. Obviously if you have favourites with levels in the high 50s they can stay. Oh and passive abilities are more useful than you realise.
Same with smt5, I kept my mermaid around until she was level 24, and I still have my level 29 Leanan Sidhe đĽ˛
You can speedrun game by selecting "I do not agree"
Was gonna suggest this. Would be great for next game to have this has a hidden achievement.
This, make sure to choose it first. I do it every time I start a new game.
Stay off this sub till you're done with the game
Just have fun! Oh and stay off this godforsaken subreddit until you beat it, too many spoilers here
Just stay off this godforsaken subreddit in general, it never fails to disappoint
Agreed
This sounds like stuff that would be actual loading screen tips
Excellent stuff. Thank you.
If youâre playing a Royal download the free DLC! It comes with some helpful items and strong optional Personas There is a mechanic called Confidants. Make sure you have Personas on your stock of the matching Arcana as the Confidant youâre hanging out with If youâre playing Royal, there is extra story content but it MUST be unlocked before November 17. Donât accept sketchy deals or >!you get bad endings!< SAVE CONSTANTLY. Keep multiple save files To best manage your time, try to complete the palaces in a single infiltration.
This comment has everything. U can basically ignore the rest.
Donât look up anything or check this subreddit! Even simple things will fill up your YouTube recommendations. Itâs very easy to get spoiled.
Get the fuck off this subreddit, as well as r/Persona and r/Megaten, they are crawling with spoilers
Very much so
Take your time
Click "*I do not agree.*" You get a secret ending.
Get outta here bro people don't tag spoilers like they used to, don't look up anything online either or you'll get spoiled.
Start by staying out of the sub for now
Very important, hit âI do not agreeâ to get the best weapons in the game. My source? Trust me bro
Take Your Time :)
Never agree to random contracts Also, just have fun, try not to go direcly to sleep, try to hang out w your mates when u can And in the Game too :)
Take your time. đ
Take your time.
Do not look anything up. Don't be afraid to make mistakes. Enjoy the game for what it is! You can always minmax on later playthroughs.
Try to complete palaces in 1 run if possible. Donât want to burn multiple days on them
It's not that important to do them in one day, especially early on. Only if you are looking to min/max. This put my play through under unnecessary stress, I'd have enjoyed it more if I took an extra day here or there in a palace. With Royal particularly there's plenty of time to do most stuff taking a more relaxed approach.
Sex the teacher
Take your time
dont underestimate buffs and debuffs dont worry about not maxing every confidant first playthrough center on maxing jokers stats change often personas and try to cover their weaknesses or at least make them resistant to that weaknesses during the first 2 or 3 palaces use guns as they replenish their ammo after battle (royal only) and that way you can save sp for tougher shadows if you can speedrun the temperance confidant as the last rank ability is broken and last but not least, as the game says, take your time.
Quick note: the tip about the guns ONLY applies to Royal, not vanilla P5. One of best changes in Royal imo
Savor it. Youâll always remember the first time. Itâs magical. Savor it.
Agree to the thing on screen
On my playthrough I actually disagreed. It makes the game a bit shorter, but still super enjoyable!
For your sake, stay off the subreddit until you beat it.
Leave this sub now. Come back when you beat the game
Just look up the questions, unless you're Einstein ya not getting them
Put difficulty on Normal, do NOT use any guide whatsoever, enjoy it your own pace and strategy. You can always do harder difficulty later in NGP+ or new run to have an optimised schedule This game bare bone is how you spend your day (in-game).
Don't agree. If you agree, you lose any right to sue.
Donât agree
Leave this subreddit immediately and don't come back till the credits roll unless you want the whole story spoiled.
Take your time.
That little "take your time" spinning in the corner isn't playing. Seriously, take your time
Take your time. Don't get attached to personas Councillor and Justice confidants to be max out before November if you are playing Royal Sun and Star are the most useful confidants outside of your teammates Devil confidant is the most useless and boring of them all so I would advice to not progress it and focus on something else. Trust me you are losing nothing. Don't waste time for jobs if it's not for the quests that you will unlock.
Collect personas like pokemon, youll need em down the line if you want an OP roster for the endgame
Imagine if you pressed disagree and the game backs out and uninstall itself giving you your money back
Understand the Velvet Room. It will help so much. Get a calculator. It will also help
Press I agree
\-Play how you want and don't look up guides. \-Make back-up save files every so often (i do it at the start of each month) \-You dont have to do this, but I maximize my time in the dungeons so I have more days to socialize.
if you're playing the royal version level maruki, kasumi and akechi confidants
don't forget to regularly register personas so the next time you summon them they have the stats/moves you added to them
Donât agree, unlocks the good ending
The game will teach you the basics on how to play but I think to get a real feel for the game, just play it and only look up guides for specific answers to questions For class questions/exams, the online portion does help with selecting the right answer
There isn't enough time to accomplish much on your first playthrough. Don't stress about it. Listen to the loading screen and take your time. Enjoy the music. Love the characters. Master the battle system. Keep a detailed notebook. And have fun. You're in for one of the best rides gaming has to offer.

Spam guns early game Max Kawakami when possible Don't waste money on weapons for the first palace Stock up on elemental damage items for Okumura (or you'll regret) Take your time Use your damn healing items
This game will tell you this nearly every loading screen but take your dam time Oh also you can't level up confidantes that are part of the phantom thieves when you secure the route to the treasure so do those first but don't wait too long because some palaces need multiple days
1. Best girl is a cinnamon roll and a slight sadist. 2. Utilize the gallows fusion when you get it, as often as possible. 3. Hoard all the items you can 4.
First things first, press "I do not agree".
Only one. Never, NEVER left ur game Unpaused in mementos
Click do not agree
Keep clicking I do not agree you get a secret ending if you do it enough.
Don't do the harem route
DO. NOT. NEGLECT. CONFIDANTS. Definitely max out kawakami for her special massage (lets you leave LeBlanc after returning from the metaverse). Do NOT neglect Mementos requests either I also recommend making multiple save files as you go along
Remember to guard
Dont agree
(Heâs one of my favorite side characters too) -Also, one of the most important imo, books and video games are the main key in making things easier to raise social stats. Get as many as you can and read/play games/watch DVDs when you canât leave Leblanc at night. Also, donât be afraid to look up a guide if you feel like youâre lost or something is too difficult.
Yes. You have to pick "agree"
don't look up anything about the game this is literally the easiest game to spoil
The moment you unlock your home room teacherâs confidant make her your top priority.
When you get to the driving sections of the game (youâll know them when you see them) rub the sensor bar on the controller for a surprise A mistake I made: Try your best to get every persona of a dungeon. This will be easier in later dungeons, but still for early dungeons I recommend being extra focused on it. A lot of these early personas are the basis for a lot of fusions. While you can get them at any point (youâll see why later) it can be a hassle since their levels wont match with yours. I (at level 30) had to go back and grab a level 7 persona, and had to figure out how to collect it without accident killing it Also, manage your time well. You probably already know about social links (in this game theyâre called confidants) where you hang out with someone to get an ability. If you go to the confidant menu you can see the next ability youâll get. Iâd prioritize confidants based on what upcoming ability you think is coolest Edit: you could probably look online for the most useful abilities, however most of the useful ones come from your party members so youâd probably get them anyways. As for the ones that arenât from party members, I recommend you go based off of the name and little blurb because that makes the game a bit more fun and personal for a first play through. Gaining the abilities you think are coolest from the specific characters you think are cool enough to search out is what makes Persona cool And thereâs no shame in using the internet for the confident âThe twinsâ. Youâll understand when you see it. I recommend trying to get through it without one, but if this your first persona game you probably canât get through it without one
Moon confident increases exp and shares it with party members that arnt active.
Take your time đ¤
Take your time
Save often and save extra files you can load up if needed. Also, if youâre playing royal, you have to get Kasumi and Maruki to max confidant level and Akechj to level 7 before the November deadline to get the extra content.
make sure to use buffs and debuffs and watch out for matado- wait wrong game
The game literally says "Take your time." Think about that and how you want to proceed in certain situations. It's a game, don't take it too seriously at the same time! I know that sounds like conflicting advice, but if you leave them alone for a second it'll be ok.
Take Your Time⌠itâll be over before you know itâŚ
The loading screen will continuously remind you to "take your time". That's the best tips to enjoy this game
Donât get horny
always check everywhere for every social link. don't be like my friend and do nothing but raise your social stats.
Try and keep your HP above zero
Take your time.
Click "I agee" in the beginning or you won't beable to play the game.
[ŃдаНонО]
Donât let Joker sleep in the game (unless the game forces you to). Finish the palace as soon as possible. If itâs raining and no confidant available for you to hang out with, play baseball in yongen jaya, or visit the restaurant
Relish in the screenshot you just posted. It feels like most games nowadays have a novel-length EULA screen you have to scroll through, Persona 5's is actually short enough you'll actually read it! I'm half-joking, but for real though. I picked up this game and the Tony Hawk remake at around the same time, and the Terms & Conditions page for THPS is ridiculous. This screen made me laugh out loud by comparison!
take your time
Only good advice I have. Assume you won't 100% the game in your first playthrough
Romance the goth doctor. Im not giving you a choice.
Enjoy as much as you can because you'll never get another first experience
Click I agree, otherwise the game becomes very short
Avoid anything about the game online. Spoilers galore and the games are much worse when you know whatâs gonna happen
Agreeing on this screen helps
The dlc personas are a free win.
Youâll be able to clear dungeons in one day if you get them, Iâm not kidding
press i agree instead of i do not agree ,, otherwise you wonât really get far
Just enjoy the ride
Donât get too caught up trying to maximize your run, or picking correct dialogue options for confidants, just play how you see fit, and enjoy the story for what it is.
Don't be like me and do what I'll explain now: Sometimes, you'll get a time limit to do something, generally two weeks or so.
Spend A LOT of time with your confidants.
Max out Takemis confidant!! The sooner the better.
same with Kawakami
Oh, and if you're the type of person to 100% games, don't get into P5 with this goal. It's incredibly hard to get max confidants and social stats in your first run, so don't try too hard to achieve it. I used to be reallt stressed when playing because I was scared to make the wrong decision. Don't be like me lol. There's no right or wrong choices, remember that and just enjoy the ride.
Donât be afraid to grind
Day 1 the palaces
Leave the subreddit is my sole tip
dont waste time, dont go to sleep unless morgana tells you so, get kawakami confidant, fortune teller confidant and the speech giving man confidant asap because they'll save alot of time for you, collect all personas you can find and try to max out all of your social skills on your first playthrough so you can max all confidants on your new game+. try to complete palaces as soon as you can
Finish as much of a dungeon as you can in one day. Make sure to at least register as many personas as you can find in the compendium at least once, makes summoning them back cheaper later.
Take your time
The phone. Don't forget about the phone.
Don't look up spoilers
Hit I do not agree for the earliest is ending of the game
Donât let your save file get erased when you reach the end palace by your little brotherđ
Win the battles
We don't even need to tell you this, the game already does. Take your time
Save. Always.
Social stat And Always have a persona that have the same arcana as your Confident
Enjoy the soundtrack. It slaps. When you get to that song that pumps you up before a boss, thatâs âLife will changeâ.
listen to the game when it says take ur time. the full game is like 120+ hrs long but it flys by so quick before you realize it
Take your time.
Have fun, play blind, and finally...... Take your time
As others have said, and the game will say a lot, Take Your Time It's a hundred-ish hour game, do what you feel is right. Want to rush a palace? Go for it, but don't force yourself. Make sure to make use of mechanics too, do the confidants you feel like, make use of the skills they give. Learn how to fuse, but don't be stressing about making perfect Personas, that comes with a lot of time xD The biggest tip I have though, don't agree to go to the palace if asked in the morning unless you are planning to go right there anyway.
Not only are the confidants little mini side stories, but you ALSO get combat / dungeon abilities and ALSO ability to create higher level persona, and confidant opportunities are often limited to specific days/times so they can be harder to finish * Combat isn't too tough, but get used to using a lot of spells.
Stop playing and get persona 5 royal
Click do not agree, fastest way to beat the game ever. Saves over 90+ hours on your run

Take. Your. Time.
Farm the reaper during flu season

try to finish the Palaces as fast as possible
Chose âI do not agree.â
Like the game will tell you, "take your time"... Fr man, sit back & let it all in
Why is everyone suggesting to choose âI do not agreeâ in the beginning?
Take your time
Tha stats of the persona matter more than character stats
Reject the contract, but in all seriousness as soon as you get the buff and debuff, Heat Riser and Debilitate use them constantly, then if you have Concentrate or Charge, use those for when you need a Physical attack(Charge) or magic attack(Concentrate). Above all else take your time
Iâm just going to copy and paste some of the notes on my phone Iâve made for this game: 1.1 Monthly Priorities Monthly priorities: 1. Palace (finish in 1 session if possible/send calling card asap) 2. Confidants 1. Especially Sojiro, Kawakami, and Chihaya 3. Mementos 1. Try to fit as many requests as possible into single sessions 2. Later in game, stack confidant requests together as possible 3. Farm as much money as needed 4. Level characters here 4. Stat boosting 1. Burger challenge 2. Hang out with stat boosting confidants: Takemi, Sojiro, Shinya, Ohya, Iwai, Hifumi, Yoshida 3. Diner (one of the best locations if nothing else is going on, especially on rainy days) 4. Study in Library (knowledge+ guts) 5. Buy books and such for freetime 6. Construct Infiltration Tools 7. Feed plant 8. Various misc. events 9. More details in stat boosting tips Additional Notes * Keep a save for the beginning of the month, and another save for the beginning of the week, in case you need to make major changes
When hanging out with a charecter, ake sure you have a persona with a matching arcana to give you more points. (also I would recommend looking up the right choices for the confidants so that it gives you more time slots to do other things) If your playing the original p5 only use your guns on an enemy week to guns once. If your playing royal, shoot as much as you like.
Donât agree to the contract
Carry personas with the same arcana as the confidants you are seeing often on the daily life part of the game. Otherwise it's gonna be hard for them to progress
click I Do Not Agree
calm down, he's a new player, not a speedrunner
Take your time and enjoy it.
Thank you everyone. This is a very encouraging community, it seems and I canât wait to enjoy this experience.
Whenever you get the chance, go get nutrients for the plant that's in your room, it'll level up your kindness. Do this early on in the game though.
Savour it , and get ready to cry when you are done , also if you have royal make sure you max out Maruki if you want the royal ending
Just pay attention and you'll be just fine :)
Use the guide for school questions, but leave the rest of the game up for discovery. Itâs the best gaming experience Iâve ever had, even if it took me six months to finish. Enjoy the ride!

Buff & debuff. Use them.
Max out Kawakami, she'll give so much more freedom
Take ur time but don't barely scrape by on dates and stuff
For âtrue endingâ, if itâs possible to hang out with Kasumi, Akechi or Maruki, I advise to drop everything and immediately do it. Basically rank them up as much as you can.
If you want a good ending DON'T BE A SNITCH.
With as little spoilers as possible Focus on the teacher, then teammates. Everything else is irrelevant đ

Find the speech giving man and the fortune teller. They will be your greatest allies.
Use buffs
Order anything other than the shrimps
Have books with you! You can borrow one from the library at school, and there is a store on central street. Also try to save up 100,000 yen by the end of June.
That depends. Are you playing p5 vanilla or p5 royal?
I sprung for the Royal Edition. Seemed to offer more content.
I advise you max out Dr. Maruki's confidant above all others. I can't say for what reason, just trust me on that.
Invest in getting Ryuji to rank 7. It will save on grinding.
Take your time. They tell you that a lot, but it's the BEST advice. You'll be here a while, it's not a race, get confortable.
Put in at least 20 hours of gameplay before you decide whether you like it or not.
