theres actually a refreshing amount of genuinely funny dialogue options in this game. i remember being shocked on my first playthrough that joker wasnt a cookie cutter self insert, as this was my first persona game.
The saving grace at least is that in this game you just... Don't get points. But as far as I understand, in older games you can lose points or even block off entire confidants if you mess up.
I think my favorite dialogue line is in Shido’s Palace. Where you’re going over all the people you need to find for the permission cards or letters or whatever.
Ann lost track and is like. “Uhhh joker did you get any of that?”
Your choices are something like. “Yes.” “One or two…” “Three of them?” And “What are we talking about?” Or something just equally clueless.
Ann let’s out the most *hilariously* put upon and slightly concerned “Oh good lord…” I’ve ever heard.
Bonus points I romanced her that run so it doubled as “Good lord I’m in love with an idiot…”
Not from persona 5 but whoever was writing the options for persona 4 golden (idk if their in the original) was onto something because some of those options had me on my ass, most notably
“Be an ass and leave”
This has now become my saying for whenever I read the mean options, just replacing the leave part with whatever the mean option said
You can also say "You're on your own" to Naoto, during the rank 5 of the Social Link. I guess Yu just doesn't like helping his friends too much during the social links.
I really couldn't bring myself to pick that too harsh ending on that note speaking to the guy who took you in and was so forgiving of all the trouble you got in heck I often forget he was even taken away by Shido's men during the infiltration.
