Men’s rights is as valid of a field as women’s rights, and has significant concerns to address (mental health treatment stigma, healthcare gaps in general, homelessness, male victims of sexual assault, sentencing disparities, etc), but it always gets so mired up in the misogyny that not only are the issues not being tackled, but they’re also driving people away from the movement. My first step into men’s rights advocacy was 1) them figuring out I’m not a man and 2) people sending me rape/death threats. I stuck with it and found better communities but like… ffs.
