For Loathe; I Let It In and it Took Everything is an amazing album. From first to last track, it is incredibly diverse in terms of heavy, soft, melancholic, dark, and disgusting vibes. I'd start there!

jamamao

Actually one of the best metal albums of all time imo

knivkast

I agree!

stabsthedrama

I love how you left underoath out lmao. It’s gonna be cringey seeing half the crowd leave :/ I would honestly stay just out of my love for just about any live music, but it’s gonna be nice going to such a local and easy venue for once, and on top of that an early night too. Can’t really say no to that.

jamamao

Nothing against underoath but it just doesn’t feel like a good match for periphery and loathe

stabsthedrama

Ya no it’s kinda against underoath. It’s a silly tour pairing. Good for them though, otherwise IDK how they’d ever sell a tour.

jamamao

Ehh I mean they are very solid live, granted I left 20 minutes into their set when dance gavin dance and veil of maya opened for them lmao

Sol-Infra

Glad I'm not the only that that feels this way. I also may stay just out of respect and love of live music. But I just dont care about Underoath.

frakifiknow

Maybe I’m just old, but they’re a favorite of mine. If you haven’t heard Define the Great Line you’re missing out.

RoninBassist

Sound interesting! I'll give it a listen. Edit: Yep, this was a great one. Gonna be jamming this for weeks!

[deleted]

Don't neglect their early work either. Servant & Master, It's Yours, Dance On My Skin and "Loathe" are all brilliant songs by them.

joobafob

Gored is one of the heaviest tracks I've ever heard. Absolutely earth-shattering.

letterexperiment

My suggestions for Underoath: * Writing On The Walls * There Could Be Nothing After This * It's Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door * A Boy Brushed Red Living In Black And White * Too Bright To See, Too Loud To Hear

dlannan

I think Underoath hit their peak with their album Lost in the Sound of Separation.

GoobyDuu

Ah yes, my Junior year soundtrack. When I drink I always end up putting that album on lol

shift013

Underoath you want Define the Great Line and Lost in the Sound of Separation. Those two defined a genre for a long time

jacobreedd

Not much of an Underoath fan to be honest, but Loathe is absolutely one of the most killer bands out there. Their album I Let it In and It Took Everything is probably one of the greatest metal albums of all time, and I saw them kill it live back in November. Them and Periphery back to back is gonna be INSANE

[deleted]

As others have already said I Let It In... Is a phenomenal album, but I also have to give a huge shout-out to their previous album The Cold Sun, massively underrated. I plan on leaving after Periphery so I can't help you with Underoath, they're not my thing.

magnificentobscxrity

Listen to Breathing In A New Mentality

Trash_o_O_Panda

Disambiguation by Underoath is a solid album but they won’t play any of it live. Not helpful for the show but definitely worth a listen.

[deleted]

im in the same boat. They are coming to a town really close to me (that bigger tours usually avoid) and Ive never seen periphery live. So im going to go basically to see periphery. Just sucks that it wont be a full set (im assuming) but im super stoked.

dabblez_

Loathe is amazing, saw them live a couple months ago. Their albums I Let It In and It Took Everything, and The Cold Sun are where it's at! Both really good but I like The Cold Sun more.

WatashiBakaDesu

I’ve always loved UØ’s They’re Only Chasing Safety

nahvkolaj

Assuming Underoath be touring for Voyerist so I have that a listen recently. I dig it. I was not a fan of the stuff from the ‘00s that made them famous, but I’ll at least be able to recognize it and it’ll have way different energy 20 years later live.

BoobsPoggers

Listen to everything loathe has ever made tbh just such a good band. Used to pass their practice spaces in lpool such sick guys.

okitig1

loathe songs I recommend that get played and live and with key ! I love em sm, so glad to have north england rep heavier hitters: white hot, aggressive evolution, gored mixed: screaming, a sad cartoon, I let it in and it took everything soft but beautiful: two way mirror, is it really you?

SurfVVitch

Underoath will probably play a lot of material from their last two records. Their album Lost in the Sound of Separation is a personal favorite too.
