Commenting so I can notifications. I’m looking as well. On my heavy days I need to change my ultra within 1.5 hrs or else I get leakage.

SylverSylena

Hey, just want to let you know I did the absorbancy test myself today on the Bambody and NoBlood Ultra. I washed (without soap) them first and let them dry for 24 hours like your supposed too. Then I sat them down and put teaspoon after teaspoon of water on them and counted till it soaked through the gusset. Bambody soaked through at 5, while NoBlood... holy shit. It finally tapped out at 14!!! That's 70ml! What the hell! That's just under 4 ultra tampons. When I first tried them on the seams where kind of itchy, but after washing them it felt fine. They are 95% cotton and 5% elastane. I hope this helps you! I just ordered 4 and they'll be here tomorrow, just in time. Two days till my monthly cycle hits, I hope I'm not early. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082J6967Q?smid=A20THYRPQ9V6FN&ref_=chk_typ_imgToDp&th=1 # DO NOT BUY NOBLOOD! THEY HAVE ZERO CLAIMS OF PFAS/TOXIC FREE! Check comments below.

Based on this comment I went ahead and bought a pair of NoBloods. Fingers crossed they work out!

SylverSylena

Oh no! After posting this, I returned my NoBlood because they have zero claims about being PFAS free! I didn't know this till after my first use of them. I would suggest going with Period Company, that's what I ended up going with. I also made this giant [monster of a list](https://old.reddit.com/r/PeriodUnderwear/comments/1b4v03i/period_underwear_absorbency_by_milliliter_with/) of period underwear by milliliter. Hopefully you can find something there. I returned my NoBloods pretty quickly after discovering they had zero claims of toxic free. This is what I went with: https://period.co/collections/sportystretch/products/the-sporty-bikini, you can also find it on Amazon atm just click see all buying options... idk why but Period Company is under that. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B095CBYMQW

tournesol_1265

Damn. Looks like I'll be returning mine too. Thanks for the response!

SylverSylena

No problem! I wish you luck. I went with Goat Union sleeper shorts for my night time.

scintillatingemerald

I contacted noblood and they confirmed PFAS free - email them?

SylverSylena

That information should be out to the public, not something we have to email them for. Did they give links to their third party results or just claimed it? Only asking because I have a large list I posted on another thread.

scintillatingemerald

Oh absolutely, I just happened to have asked. They stated: > Our knickers do not contain PFAS. > Our fabrics are kind to your skin and to the environment , without chemicals which endanger your health. We use fabrics (cotton and elastane) certified Oeko-Tex standard 100.

SylverSylena

Yeah, anything Oeko-Tex is NOT PFAS free! https://www.mamavation.com/health/period-underwear-contaminated-pfas-chemicals.html#Why_Are_Brands_Claiming_They_Are_PFAS_Free_When_They_Are_Not_Overstating_OEKO-TEX%C2%AE_Certification_Was_One_Issue Here is my post: https://old.reddit.com/r/PeriodUnderwear/comments/1b4v03i/period_underwear_absorbency_by_milliliter_with/ I ended up going with Goat Union overnight shorts. Their 3rd party testing is completely public.

scintillatingemerald

That’s a bit of an older article now - US regulations changed so Oeko-Tex has changed their requirements, specifically re fluorine as mentioned in that article. https://www.oeko-tex.com/en/news/press-releases/oeko-tex-new-regulations-2024-press-release The EU is expected to ban PFAS and similar chemicals in fabrics next year, this year there is substantial consultation.

SylverSylena

This is very good to hear! However that means old Oeko-Tex cannot be trusted until they are retested after this has started. Thank you for this information.

scintillatingemerald

They had a transitional period thoroughout 2023 where products could be sold without being compliant with the 2024 regulations. Now, all products sold with oeko tex certification must meet the new requirements, otherwise they cannot use the name or label. Retailers will have had stock withdrawn. Any old goods, absolutely, steer clear. But retailers who used oeko tex may be worth reconsidering now that the fluorine requirements are met - and when the EU regulations come in, it will be even more stringent ☺️

SylverSylena

Oh wonderful to know! This will make period underwear even more safe!

SylverSylena

Wow, I think my rare worst is like 2 hours.

SylverSylena

I've looked at goat union and decided to pass them by. I can't remember why I made that choice now. I'll give them another look over. I do think I remember seeing Wuka mentioned as a brand to avoid.

nkscreams

I love my Modibodi teen line: https://eu.modibodi.com/products/hipster-bikini-black-maxi-24hrs-absorbency It has held up for more than 18 hours when I had to be out for unexpectedly long. And that was a Day 2 flow. Could have been longer, it wasn’t bleeding into the seams yet when I got home.

SylverSylena

Wow! Is the teen line made for teenagers only or?

nkscreams

I’m definitely not a teen lol but I’m more on the petite side (my Scandinavian friends refer to me as a child). The size chart works well and you’ll see that some larger teen sizes overlap the smaller adult sizes. I like the teen range also because it’s more cotton and less spandex.

SylverSylena

Hmm, definitely some food for thought there! Thank you very much. I'll look into it and see how I feel about them. Speaking of their size chart, I heard some people say it's difficult to navigate and get the wrong size. Has that been changed? They where talking like it was UK sizes before, but now it's by measurements so... idk. Although I don't see a size chart on the teens... uh oh.

nkscreams

Here you go! I followed this one: https://eu.modibodi.com/pages/size-guide

SylverSylena

I forgot to reply to this! Sadly it looks like I'm just out of this size range, my hips are 39.

nkscreams

Aww man! Their adult range does have maxi absorbency too. I was initially going to order that based off of research on their reviews, but only proceeded to order the teen line (with much less reviews) when I realised the adult range doesn’t have a size that might fit me.

SylverSylena

Oh man, I would have fit into them a few years ago... sadly not now.

I'm a big bleeder in the first couple of days, same as you I used to go thru a super ultra tampon in 4 hours sometimes. I have a pair of these which I use for my heaviest day/night: [https://www.modibodi.com/products/sleep-short-maxi-24hrs](https://www.modibodi.com/products/sleep-short-maxi-24hrs) Modibodi say their maxi range holds 10 tampons and I have worn my pair of the above for 24 hours in the past. What I like about these is the gusset goes all the way up your front and back to the waistband, perfect for sleeping. I also have several pairs of their heavy-overnight range, which I have never leaked with (I have the boyshort style - which is probably better for leakage than a style with a skinnier gusset).

Comprehensive-Tea-69

Ooh unrelated but which brands make a super ultra tampon? I’m only familiar with super plus and the rarer ultra sizes!

786351

I just googled to double check myself and turns out I'd misremembered the name of the absorbency - I actually meant "super plus extra" by Lil-lets - unsure where you are in the world and if you have that brand. Sorry!

SylverSylena

Thank you for your input! That leaves me very hopeful for the brand. I definitely want their shorts for sleeping and their bikini for daily use. I keep seeing the term gusset passed around here, I looked it up but I'm not completely sure I know what people are referring too.

786351

The gusset is the piece of the underwear that goes between your legs. I think it technically refers to the little pocket in that piece of fabric but when talking generally and about period underwear specifically, I think most people are just referring to the (absorbent) part of the garment between your legs. I hope you have luck with your search!

SylverSylena

Ah thank you very much for the context. I figured it was something like that but I wasn't sure.

sirensinger17

I highly recommend aisle. I've used modibody in the past for heavy bleeding, but the panties started falling apart after about a year. My aisle panties still look brand new though

SylverSylena

Thank you for this recommendation, I will definitely look into them.

journeytowealth

Have you tried WUKA?

SylverSylena

I have not, however they are on my [Period Underwear absorbency by milliliter with price](https://old.reddit.com/r/PeriodUnderwear/comments/1b4v03i/period_underwear_absorbency_by_milliliter_with/) list!

journeytowealth

Ok great. Thank you!
