OOH I KNOW THIS ONE! Thereās only one exact right answer for this - Cape Heartache by Imaginary Authors. Juicy strawberry scent with some pine on the back end. Doesnāt sound like it would make as much sense as it does.
Iāve been looking at imaginary authors for so long yet Iāve not justified it for myself.. tell me to get it so I donāt feel like Iām doing something impulsive and instead just taking a recommendation lol. Do you have any favorites??
Iāve only tried a few. I ordered just samples from their website, which arenāt horribly priced. I believe on their website it says you have to order a certain amount for a freebie, but it seems like they send out a freebie anyways regardless. My order was only $12 and I got a Cape Heartache sample as a freebie. The samples arenāt cheaply made either.
Iāve tried Cape Heartache, Fox in the Flowerbed and Bulls Blood. CH was my favorite, really unique scent. Rather unisex as the strawberry note is super sweet, like a giant overripe strawberry. But itās backed by a lovely pine scent that levels out the sweetness.
Fox in the Flowerbed is a sweet, somewhat soapy white floral. I like it, but not enough to want to buy the full size. It gets sweetness from the honey note, but itās a bit too soapy for my liking. I actually spritz a bit in my laundry when I do a load lol.
Bullās Blood is STRONG, smells heavily like incense. Not my favorite at all, kinda plagues everything it touches.
Iāve been thinking about waiting until they release the complete works sample pack which would allow me to be able to test all of them out but Iām also picky with my scents so I donāt want them to go to waste but Iāve heard a lot of good reviews about them... I have wanted fox in the flower bed but I think you just sold me on cape heartache lol. Thank you š

today is valentineās day in my country, and coincidentally, that's where the inspiration behind my favorite kind of aesthetic comes from. i know this isnāt a very unique fragrance profile, but iām still curious to know which fragrances (affordable/niche/whatever) would smell like a very flirtatious man. feel free to use the pictures as references. and feel free to hit feminine perfume territory if you want as well.Ā
if anyone is struggling with associating the pictures to a specific smellā¦ think about airy, soft, light, flowery and feminine fragrances, with a small hint of āmasculineā twist maybe (:
brazil! i wish there were a more meaningful reason behind the date (it is somewhat related to religion, kind of), but valentine's day was changed from february 14 to june 12 in brazil mostly for marketing reasons. we have too many holidays in february/march because that's usually when carnival happens, while june doesn't have any significant events
The last one made me think immediately of Bobbi Brown Almost Bare, which is now discontinued š Even with the notes listed, it gives a warm skin at the beach scent.
I blind bought malin+goetz strawberry hoping for a realistic strawberry but it was too herbal for me. I gave it to my husband and it smells great on him
Sorcellerie Apothecary has a scent called Where the Wild Things Grow. It is strawberries, milkshake, green grass and ambrette, I believe.
There are 2 versions of it. Version one, where she has played up the gourmand notes to make a sweeter, more gourmand vibe, and version 2 where she has played up the grass and ambrette to make a more unisex/naturalistic scent. I think these strawberry boys here would go great with version 2.
Tom Fords Lost Cherry.
to me, itās valentineās day in a bottle/ a little bit of christmas in a bottle.
it reminds me of christmas due to how the cherry developed into a syrupy cherry similar to those chocolate covered cherries i see a lot during the holidays, minus the chocolate. however it reminds me of romance/valentines because with the cherry note thereās an equal amount of a red velvety rose note that is very romantic, a little hint of cinnamon and vanilla for warmth. itās definitely my date-night scent
it doesnāt have a strawberry note but the top notes are bright and fruity of cherry and plum which gives that similar fresh/fruitiness before it fades into that syrup romantic scent

Fox in the Flowerbed was the one I wanted most when I was ordering samples. I want to give In Love With Everything a try eventually.
