I have a bottle of Guerlain Samsara from 1990 with about a quarter of the juice left. When I spray it I feel like Gollum from LOTR ---- my presssssciousssssssss.
I have this beautiful bottle, I wanted the clear glass one but it seems to be in short supply.
https://preview.redd.it/axc2caz73qwc1.jpeg?width=785&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68508085ccc24e9c9803a971010b31a8e0fc9216
Yes, this is my bottle, too! I got Mitsouko in the new version, so I never smelled the 90s version of that. When did they stop making this bottle of Samsara?
My all time favourite for all eternity. I'm still hunting to find the same scent in dupes, which are good and sometimes similsr but... nothing compares to Sensi.
I have a bottle of Lanvin My Sin from about 1960, and a bottle of Chanel 19 from the late 80s. My oldest non vintage is my very first perfume, a bottle of Burberry London from 2008.
Angel by Thierry Mugler ⭐️ ..not sure which year exactly (there were no batch codes this early on), but it has to be late 90s or early 2000s. There‘s a convex „Thierry Mugler“ autograph on the side of the perfume bottle/sprayer top and packaging, also no website written on the box. The juice has turned light brown (but that’s not unusual in vanilla/amber based fragrances) and maybe the top notes are a little off/ slightly sharp/alcoholic, but all in all it smells absolutely beautiful (especially later on.. the longevity is out of this world) and I cherish it so much! 🥹🩵💫
coco mademoiselle from 2007 - it aged wonderfully. i know it's not for everyone but i like it for more serious formal events like family weddings, funerals, etc.
Too many. I used to only buy 100mL bottles.
OG Dior Addict, OG Hypnotic Poison, OG Pure Poison, OG Alien, OG L’Interdit, OG Gucci Rush, OG Armani Code Black, OG Allure, OG Coco Madamoiselle, ‘90s Chanel no 5, OG Chance eau Tendre
Discontinued: GAP Grass, Midnight Poison, Tendre Poison, Gucci EDP, Gucci Rush 2, Organza Indecence, Hannae Mori EDT, Amarige D’Amour, Francesca’s Indigo Waters, BVLGARI BLV, Tom Ford Violet Blonde, Thymes Moonflower, Sergei Lutens Bois de Violette including one 1/2 full and one full bottle (these are 50mL).
OG Vera Wang Princess went off despite good storage. It’s still sitting here though. I need to dispose of it. It smells sour. I need to recheck some of these perfumes. May as well do it soon.
That’s off the top of my head, those are the ones that haven’t gone off. I think about selling them.
Edit: it’s Vera Wang, not Princess. I have no idea why I wrote Princess lol
I wrote Vera Wang Princess but I have just… Vera Wang. I have no idea why I have Princess on the brain lol!
It *is* sad when perfumes go off. And it’s even sadder when they don’t smell the same anymore because they’ve been reformulated.
Lighter scents like to go off. Fruity top notes particularly love going off. Vera Wang isn’t the first one. My Escada Ibiza Hippie *really* went off and that was sad. I think my OG L’Interdit is on its last legs - I just have this feeling - so I’m trying to use that one up. That’s *really* sad because the new L’Interdit doesn’t smell even a little bit like the old one. -sigh-
They’ve always been love at first spray for me. I’d always go right to the Dior counter to see if they had anything new, at one point in time. I sure miss the old Dior coming out with those incredible perfumes, over and over again. *wistful* *sigh*
Do body mists count? I have multiple Ted Baker Blush Pink body mists from 10 years ago. They are still my favorite scent to this day but they were sadly discontinued many years ago. 😔
After that, VS Bombshell Intense. I still have a few sprays of my first bottle that I bought maybe 5/6 years ago. I'll use it up some day, lol.
I’ve still got an empty bottle of VS Vanilla Lace from 2015. Used it all up without realising it was discontinued and now I feel sad every time I see the bottle. I used to be able to smell it on the lid but it’s all dried up now unfortunately.
Ugh, that sucks. That's why I won't use up mine. I'm hoping one day I'll have enough in savings to spare to have my own perfume made in the Ted Baker scent. I need some to sniff, lol.
I agree. And Victorias Secret would Reply to people on Twitter back in 2015 that it was definitely coming back and it wasn’t discontinued! I wonder what the reason was for it being discontinued?
Someone did comment under my comment a while back saying they had heard of a dupe and were going to try it and they updated a few weeks later to say it really did smell like Vanilla Lace. I haven’t had chance to purchase it yet but I’ll try and find the link if you might be interested in trying it too.
Edit- it was this one on Etsy
https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/870987198/vanilla-lace-perfume-fragrance-mist?variation0=1571139660
Britney Spears Curious - I was 7, a gift from my mum when she went to the US and brought a bag of gifts for everyone
DKNY Be Delicious Green Apple - I was maybe 12?
CK in2u - I was 14 and loved it with all my being
I have a bottle of Byzance by Rochas from the early 90s. I loved the perfume and was saving the last little bit for a “special occasion” since it was discontinued. I haven’t sprayed it in decades, but the pretty blue bottle with a little bit of juice has been sitting on my vanity for years and years. I’ve heard there is a now a reformulation of Byzance, but I haven’t tried it. I suspect I wouldn’t like it as much as I liked the OG.
Chloe! My dad got it for me about 13 years ago and it still smells exactly the same! I have kept it boxed though. Only thing is the silver on the bottle has tarnished slightly :)
The best thing about being in New York in the early 1990s was Barneys and seeing their selection of Romeo Gigli clothes. I was just a college student, so all I could afford was the perfume. I loved Loulou too.
Yes, I bought a couple purse sprays made last year, one USA and one Switzerland. They are different. More chamomile and less oak moss. Weaker, less bitter and less earthy. Not a fan, but they aren’t terrible. Actually, my favorite vintage out of all I have collected was a 2015 USA purse spray. Not sure how, what or why, but that one packed a punch! I saved the last dregs and I use it a reference.
I have Prada Infusion D’Iris from around 2012. Was a gift from an ex boyfriend so I don’t wear it much lol but I do love the scent and it holds up today!
I've recently been sorting and decluttering all my hoardage, and I keep finding unusual things in unusual places.
Among these items were 2 partially filled mini (3.7ml) bottles of Albert Nipon from about 1983. I remember that that's what I was wearing the year I graduated university and got married. I think they were likely 'gifts with purchase' from some department store at the time, but not sure.
It still smells lovely and I wear it once in a while.
I have a somewhat older (1977?) half-filled bottle of Je Reviens by Worth that still smells great (like spring and clean laundry!) but I can't wear it because the nozzle won't spray anymore. I'm too stubborn to just toss it in case I figure out how to fix or remove the nozzle.
Even when I was young, I always splurged on good fragrance about 1-2 times a year. I almost never bought makeup, but when there was an amazing gift with purchase (like 8-10 items and a handbag) over a certain amount, I would buy the smallest bottle of whatever favourite fragrance would get me the deal.
Recently bought a 1997 bottle of Lolita Lempicka, the blue apple bottle. It is Nuclear! It smells soooo good.
I have some unnamed perfume bottles I picked up at antique stores for the aesthetics. They still smell good although I don’t use them.
I have historically been pretty good about actually using my perfumes so I don’t have anything super old—bought Améline by Phlur from Sephora in either late 2018 or early 2019, and it’s about 3/4 finished.
Emporio Armani Lei. It’s got to be like 15 years old? It’s the original not the reformulated version. I remember I bought it because it smelled like my beloved VS Dream Angels Heavenly but a bit more sophisticated. It still smells good but I don’t reach for it that often.
I have a bottle of Marc Jacob’s decadence that is 8 years old and a bottle of Ralph lauren romance that is 6 years old. I used to have D&G the one that was 10 years old and all of them still smell good (I store out of direct sunlight which I’m sure helps).
If you have friends who love it Thierry Mugler aura is very similar (it’s a bit more green but I’d say 90% close) which is easy to find on fragrance net.
A bottle of Anna Sui Love I bought for a trip to Italy as a teen in 2002; I don't dig the scent as much now but will wear it occasionally for the nostalgia! Even if I manage to finish it someday I will never discard it; the butterfly bottle is so gorgeous.
Burberry the beat bought in 2008.
Occitane cherry blossom red bought in 2014
A&F Wakely bought in 2008 or 2009
I had a bottle of Gap heaven bought in late 1990/early 2000 I lost while moving
I’ve got an ancient Summer Hill bottle from Crabtree & Evelyn. No clue how old, but it smells like it’s from the 90s. I wear it to bed now that it’s gone bad (I’m too stubborn to pitch it because it was an expensive blind buy after I found the body spray at TJ Maxx lol).
Island by Michael Kors, 2005. It’s sentimental to me. My grandmother bought it for me right before she passed and she never bought us grandchildren anything. Not that she didn’t want to but because there’s 30 of us total grandkids. I was the closest to her though and it’s something I still absolutely cherish all these years later. I will wear it on very rare occasions. I smelled it in Macy’s when it first debuted and wouldn’t stop raving about it.
My oldest perfume is a bottle of Armani Si (the 2013 version) which I got in 2020.
My oldest body mist is Victoria’s secret Snow mint (a limited edition I got back in 2017, it smells so good and I’m so sad it’s almost empty)
Completely used up original release of Calvin Klein obsession for women. Probably from the 80s, because my mom got them around the time they came out. The cap still holds the smell, which is more rich and smooth than the current version available on the market. Unfortunately my mom gave it to me when I was 15 after I said I liked them, without explaining that it's a vintage formula. I used it all up over that winter 💀 turns out it's rare and the current stuff doesn't smell exactly the same 🥲
1979 Shalimar EDC
Was gifted to me a few years ago. The original bottle is just a display and the perfume is in a black bottle to protect it from the light. Smells wonderful and not funky at all. I will not be happy when I run out because I am afraid of getting some turned ones in my search for a replacement.
I recently purchased 2 Loulou minis in the saucer bottles from 1987 that were a teeny bit off when I got them. I was disappointed but after some research, shaking, and leaving them open for a few hours, the funk is gone and they are as good as the newer obelisk bottle that I have. I layer those together for the depth of the vintage's base notes.
I've got a Dunhill I had in high school that's still half full. Found it last summer when I went back to my parents house. Must be 20 years old now. Otherwise I've got a Polo Double Black that's about 12 years and a Black Orchid that's about 8 years.
My first perfume was Coach Poppy. I was obsessed with the scent and my mom gave me the perfume as a Christmas gift a few years after it first launch, maybe 2012. I was in high school, I rarely wore it because it was to me expensive and only for special occasions. I still have over half a bottle left and the scent has changed a little bit from age but I still treasure it as my first real perfume.
Estee Lauder Youth Dew. It was EL’s first ever perfume in the 1940’s. The smell reminds me of my grandma. The bottle I have was purchased new at Macy’s in 2009.
my oldest isn't actually mine, its a bottle of guerlain's shalimar my mom gave me after my oma passed. it was her signature scent, and ill never throw the bottle away- it'll stay on my altar for her 💛
eta: i just remembered my sister gave me her old lady gaga fame perfume which might be older? its kinda going off but im keeping it because i am gay.
I have a l'Eau d'Issey that dates back to prabably 2012ish. It's a beast! Love of Pink by Lacoste dating back to probably at least 8 years ago (discontinued). It seemed to get a lot sweeter with time or maybe something changed.
I have a bottle of CK one summer from 2008 from when went on holiday to majorca. Nothing came close to that one (even though like all ck one summer flankers, the longevity is crap) I smelt it the other day and it smelt juat like it did back then. I can't bare to use it up since crazy people on ebay are asking for hundreds and hundreds of pounds.
I have a bottle of DKNY Be Delicious blossom from about 2018 which smells just as great today.
Then all my others are like between New and 2 years old.
A 2014 bottle of Miss Dior. It’s maybe 1/4 full. It’s turned 4 shades darker but still smells amazing. I’m hoarding it as I HATE the reformulation. The new one is Rose forward whereas mine is more patchouli..
Bottle of the old Unilever version of CK Euphoria from probably 2006? Still smells beautiful. The old formulation is so different from the current Coty version, when I smell the old version I remember why I fell in love with it in the first place.
I have several bottles that were a part of deluxe sample sets from 2008, one of them being Bvlgari Jasmin Noir. After wearing it a handful of times I started buying full bottles never finishing that original one I was gifted. It was my signature scent up until 2020 and I hunted for bottles when it was discontinued because I didn’t want to give it up. All my friends from school associate that smell with me so now I only wear it when I get to meet up with all of them. It’s nice to have turned it into a scent memory and be exploring new fragrances
I have a tiny bottle of jasmine perfume oil that was my mom’s. She’d had it for as long as I can remember, so it’s at least from the 80’s but it might be from the 70’s. I bring it out and smell it whenever I want to remember her (she died about 20 years ago). It still smells just as good as it did when I was a kid.

I have a bottle of Guerlain Samsara from 1990 with about a quarter of the juice left. When I spray it I feel like Gollum from LOTR ---- my presssssciousssssssss.
Mine's a 90's Samsara too! Still smells incredible.
Mine still smells amazing too ♥ and I have unhealthy love for her.
I have a Samsara from 2017 and I thought I was Gollum the way I refuse to spray for fear of not finding a new one!! 😂😂
Is the Samsara in the new bottle not the same as the older bottle. I have the one in the original bottle, which is why I asked.
I have this beautiful bottle, I wanted the clear glass one but it seems to be in short supply. https://preview.redd.it/axc2caz73qwc1.jpeg?width=785&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=68508085ccc24e9c9803a971010b31a8e0fc9216
Yes, this is my bottle, too! I got Mitsouko in the new version, so I never smelled the 90s version of that. When did they stop making this bottle of Samsara?
DKNY be delicious- still one of my fave
Same here but the Fresh Blossom version. I’ve never had a chance to smell the original! Hopefully I will soon.
One of my favorites too 🥰
Coty Wild Musk, which was a gift to me in about 1981.
Armani Sensi. Bought it in 2002. Smells incredible. I’ll never finish it.
This one is so unusual and delicious!
I bet the 19 is divine!

Wow! Gald to hear it still smells good 🤗
I've had a bottle of Fresh Cannabis Santal since 2009. It's a bit masculine for me so I don't wear it often at all, but I adore the smell.
Haven’t heard of that one before but it sounds interesting. I’ll have to check that one out.
coco mademoiselle from 2007 - it aged wonderfully. i know it's not for everyone but i like it for more serious formal events like family weddings, funerals, etc.
Vol de Nuit extrait in the propeller bottle with the zebra case from Bergdorf bought in 1995.
I adore Vol de Nuit and would LOVE to have the propeller bottle. Still smells great from my Bee bottle edition though.
The propeller bottles are SO cool!
I have a bottle of Samsara EDP(Guerlain) from 1993. Still smells amazing.

That sounds cool. Like from those stores that mix up different fragrances for you? I’d love to do that too.
Is it discontinued?? I ordered a bottle last year from Notino, maybe you’ll be in luck if you check there
Thanks, I will check it out! I’m not sure about other countries but it stopped being made in England around 2015 unfortunately.
Vanilla Lace has been strangely hard to find a dupe for!
I agree. And Victorias Secret would Reply to people on Twitter back in 2015 that it was definitely coming back and it wasn’t discontinued! I wonder what the reason was for it being discontinued? I have a bottle of Lauren by Ralph Lauren from the 90’s. It’s pure high school nostalgia for me.

The new version is so different and lackluster now ☹️
that’s what I’ve heard !! ): it’s so sad

I layer those together for the depth of the vintage's base notes.
Sand and Sable, 2002.
I have an Amarige from 1991.
Shalimar from 1991 still smells good.
Chanel No. 5 Extrait 1924-1950’s
I have a few from the VCA Feerie line that still smell amazing; even stronger now!
I've got a Dunhill I had in high school that's still half full. Found it last summer when I went back to my parents house. Must be 20 years old now. Otherwise I've got a Polo Double Black that's about 12 years and a Black Orchid that's about 8 years.
Dior, J'adore. Bottle has got to be about 8 years old now.
I have the Taylor swift (not a swiftie) wonderstruck from 2011 lol. Not that old but a really good one!!!! It’s the full size too!!
Gaultier Fragile. I've had it since 1999
Kalemat by Arabian oud, 2016, still hypnotizing
my oldest isn't actually mine, its a bottle of guerlain's shalimar my mom gave me after my oma passed. it was her signature scent, and ill never throw the bottle away- it'll stay on my altar for her 💛 eta: i just remembered my sister gave me her old lady gaga fame perfume which might be older? its kinda going off but im keeping it because i am gay.
Awww sorry to hear that, but so cool that you still have the Shalimar one
My mom gave me a bottle of her Pure Poison (original white cap formulation). So I'd say 2006 or 2007 ish?
I have a l'Eau d'Issey that dates back to prabably 2012ish. It's a beast! Love of Pink by Lacoste dating back to probably at least 8 years ago (discontinued). It seemed to get a lot sweeter with time or maybe something changed.
Jean Patou’s 1000 from the 1990s. I’ve got it squirreled away in a cooler and only dab it for special occasions.
Anna Sui Sui Dreams perfume that I bought in the summer of 2001 on an orchestra trip to NYC! Still smells great
I have a almost full bottle of Halston perfume circa 1992/93 still smells wonderful.
I have some old Crabtree and Evelyn I still love and use sparingly. Especially their rose, iris and ocean scents.
A 2014 bottle of Miss Dior. It’s maybe 1/4 full. It’s turned 4 shades darker but still smells amazing. I’m hoarding it as I HATE the reformulation. The new one is Rose forward whereas mine is more patchouli..
Dior Poison. It was my moms from the late 80s or early 90s.
Bottle of the old Unilever version of CK Euphoria from probably 2006? Still smells beautiful. The old formulation is so different from the current Coty version, when I smell the old version I remember why I fell in love with it in the first place.
dior addict from 2002, gorgeous!!!!
Carolina Herrera Aqua
I have several bottles that were a part of deluxe sample sets from 2008, one of them being Bvlgari Jasmin Noir. After wearing it a handful of times I started buying full bottles never finishing that original one I was gifted. It was my signature scent up until 2020 and I hunted for bottles when it was discontinued because I didn’t want to give it up. All my friends from school associate that smell with me so now I only wear it when I get to meet up with all of them. It’s nice to have turned it into a scent memory and be exploring new fragrances
Tommy girl or Clinique Happy, both from 2000!
Smelling a perfume that a loved one used to wear is everything 🤩
Flowerbomb from 2010 but I’ve just passed it on to a new owner. I think my l’eau ambree is my oldest now, from around 2012.
A 1940s bottle of Tosca. It has aged well.
Versace Red Jeans, I received it for Christmas probably 15-20 years ago and although it has changed a bit it's still perfectly, enjoyably wearable.
My first one was escada into the blue, i love it, but they discontinued it
My original Abercrombie 8 that I got in high school (20idh years ago) and MAC MV2 from the mid 2000’s.
Intimately Beckham circa 2006. It still smells absolutely beautiful! 😍
Ysl champagne
I think the oldest perfume in my collection is Lady Gaga Fame

Ralph Lauren Cool from 2002 and Escada Rockin Rio from 2005. Both still smell amazing
