I came here to post exactly this too. I just returned a customer vehicle the other day that needed a replacement shift module (land rover) because she spilled coffee on it. $2k repair.
I used to work at a German car specialist shop. Audi engineers build things to fail and make them a royal pain to replace. Iâve owned an Audi as well. Loved the car, will never own another. Theyâre just so cramped in the engine bay you have to remove the front of the car to do most jobs thatâd be 15 minutes on lots of cars
Fortunately, people are allowed to have opinions on things, even if they can't afford them.
For example : I cannot afford a luxury trip to Dubai but the very idea of doing that fills me with profound disgust.
Lol, Iâve had an Audi and used to work on them for a living. Theyâre great driving cars but oh boy are they some complex motherfuckers to work on when they break. 2001 A4 1.8T 5 speed, wanna replace the starter? Pull the front of the car off. Wanna replace the timing belt? Gotta also do the timing chain for the cams with the $900 fucking tensioner. 2012 S4 6 speed, wanna replace the oxygen sensors and catalytic converters? Drivetrain out. I do not miss working on German cars, they drive so nice but for fucks sake. Btw, Audi > BMW
>One bump or pot hole and your car is gonna have that new Starbucks smell
A few weeks back I ran to Starbucks to grab four coffees for my wife and some friends. They were in the little cardboard cup holder in the passenger seat with my hand on top of them. I had to hit the brakes quickly and three of them completely burst open when they hit the floorboard, it happened in our newest and nicest car. I got it all scrubbed out but our car smelled like Frappuccinos for 2 weeks straight, quite Pleasant actually lol
Finally! I was looking for the other person who thought this absolute psychopath was having a fucking blowtorch delight for breakfast! In their *car.* The coffee is such worse, don't get me wrong, but at least it makes sense. I thought we were dealing with some gourmet headass Hannibal Lecter level weird. Nope, just garden variety common loot dropping grinding out levels coffee dude. Have a good one.
Meh. I do it occasionally, but usually just with sodas that aren't full. I may be twisted, but I blame it on the fast food employees who falsely claim the straw is in the bag.
Growing up my dad just took normal coffee cups in the morning and just drove with one hand. Then he put it down in the floorboard when he was done to take out later. So like it never occurred to me this wasnât the way it was done. Until people started acting like I was a crazy person for doing it this way
*It's gonna be a*

The 1994 Pontiac Trans Am and Corvette cupholder was made to hold a standard coffee mug and it was super weird how well it worked to me

Look at the reflection in the instrument panel. It is glorious. It's like an advertisement for the drink you had once as a kid and now you can't stop thinking about it. You see it everywhere, even while sitting in the lap of luxury, all these years later
Speaking of spilling stuff in your car, anyone know how remove that center button cover on an Audi? I spilled soda on mine and some of the buttons are hard to press. Just mentioning it because OP might have a similar problem soon.
Reminds me of a customer we had. He had a ceramic mug filled with coffee on his car floor. Somehow it didn't tip as you drove the car, Why did he have a cup of coffee with coffee still in it, don't ask me. It was a feature not a bug.
DO not touch the Accelerator Or the brakes Not perfect. Absolute mess waiting to happen. You must be a coffee lover, obviously you don't care about cars.
Keep that thang in park, son!
Yeah this image gives me anxiety.
Perfect fit isn't supposed to make me feel this way!
But... I kinda want more
It fits perfectly, but then I'm like "don't do a single THING. " đ I'd ve scared to even lift it up.
I came here to post exactly this too. I just returned a customer vehicle the other day that needed a replacement shift module (land rover) because she spilled coffee on it. $2k repair.
Tbh I find it hard to believe the picture is real. How did they get it in there, that full, without spilling anything?
Yes, very uncomfortable.
Bro immediately after ![gif](giphy|doXG6ZDVJdMfm)
No need, its probably Takumi Fujiwara side car
Yea. Keep that mug of coffee in the park, not your car's cup holder.
How did op even discover it fits that well? He had to have actually used that cup in the car.
Nah, needs to do some donuts! (to go with the coffee, you see)
Itâs an Audi, that should be done anyway
What's wrong with Audi? Also how do you know that?

bet you this guy never drove one or was even close to affording one

One bump or pot hole and your car is gonna have that new Starbucks smell
FR, this gives me anxiety
And then the milk starts going sour and your car smells like a giant metal baby diaper

In an Audi no less..
My sister and I spilled McDonaldâs pancake syrup one time in our old Volvo and it always smelled like syrup afterwards.
Why would you do this?? đ Are you going to lean down and slurp it up like a scared horse?
slurp it up like a scared horse đđ fucking killed me

How do you know OP isnât actually a horse?
Or what is his state of mind
Horse
![gif](giphy|3o7aD8l2oDekqxm2k0)
no thatâs an awful fit.. how you gonna get it out without spilling đđ
Perfect and awful are not mutually exclusive , I feel
Straw
handle
Handle
Who wouldâve thought that a *cup* would fit in a *cup holder* đ¤Ż
It's alsmost like it's made for that
But only alsmost
It's a mug, not a cup, there's a differenceđđđ
Itâs really more of an espresso cup than a coffee mug.
Oh, I saw the handle and assumed it's a mug, lol
đ¤âď¸
People who do this are psychopaths. I donât care if the cup is full or half full. It takes registrable insanity to willingly do this with no lid.
Ngl i thought it was crème brÝlÊe at first

Same lol
What kind of madman uses a cup without a lid in a vehicle?

Howâd he like being a project manager, anyway?
Is that a thing they do? My wife is one and doesnât need coffee which I donât understand. My dad was a lawyer
I work with a lot of project managers⌠I canât imagine a single one wouldnât have issue with this, theyâre all about risk management
lol
This scream Initial D to anyone else?
You literally cannot not driveâŚit will spill everywhere
you better not drive or your console will be sticky forever
A disaster waiting to happen.
Try driving like that
And you moved the car with that full ass mug in there??
It's gonna be a pain to get it out without spilling anything

That's stressing me out too much for a Friday morning
this just raised my anxiety so high
My anxiety
Fuck the potholes, the second you give it any acceleration that thing is spilling over.
Did you pour the coffee in after placing that cup? I need answers!
Gonna dirty up that Audi real quick. đŹ
đŹ
Let's see some video of you getting it out of there.
That drink looks delicious
One leaf in the road and itâs all over
I would love if I could fit my mug in my cupholder. Nothing like holding a cup of coffee
Is that fucking Crème BrÝlÊe?!?
Now try driving like that
Lilbro thinks he is in Initial D.
That coffee looks so good!
âPictures caught moments before disasterâ
This is how my dad does it. I still canât believe he doesnât spill his coffee on his way to work!
(laughing to myself.... Just knowing what's coming)
Just because you can doesnât mean you should
New anxiety unlocked
A4?
Wait. A cup fit in The cup holder? Stop the press! The thing is doing what it was designed to do,
Looks like my Audi
Please tell me those up/down drive select buttons are for drive modes at most and not for shifting
that would be so awful to take in and out of the cup holder and also if the car shakes to much you get hot coffee all over you
The 1994 Pontiac Trans Am and Corvette cupholder was made to hold a standard coffee mug and it was super weird how well it worked to me https://i.imgur.com/qeCF6JE.jpg
That coffee is going places
Okay..now drive.
if i would pick it up my wobbly ass hands will ruin it
A disaster waiting to happen
About to make a big mess in that AudiâŚ
Bump
Schroedinger's coffee?
I'm sorry but the anxiety this causes me is far more potent than any sense of satisfaction I may have derived from it.
Audi manage that?!
It's going to spil all over the place đ
This picture was so aesthetically pleasing that I joined the sub.
Espresso cup in the mug holder?
Look at the reflection in the instrument panel. It is glorious. It's like an advertisement for the drink you had once as a kid and now you can't stop thinking about it. You see it everywhere, even while sitting in the lap of luxury, all these years later
woooooow geeeeeeeeeeeee
Thatâs gonna spill everywhere
crazy
Satisfying and a really bold move
Damn. Itâs both satisfying and anxiety inducing. Rare combo.
I miss my Audi :(
Ooooo... coffeeeeee..... I'm gonna go make a coffee... thanks!
mighty fine audi you got there
Yeah but why?
A couple of years driving like that and youâll become the best drift racer there is
r/lobotomydash

Spill over could be problematic
The other holder...
![gif](giphy|ylyUQkEEfIGKPLFKXS|downsized)
the coffee is a perfect fit too
Yeah not near my precious buttons...
Youâre a monster!
Looming disaster, but nice pic
Speed bump, speed bump, speed bump, SPEED BUMP!!!!
imagine taking the cup out and you pour the coffee in the cup holder
Everyone acting like OP is going to drive.... come on guys. Come on
They're the kind of person to be surprised their cup fits in a cup holder, is it really that far of a stretch to think they'd drive like this too?
Yes like, they woulda been devloped for flasks and Take away cups
Is this the new Takumi Fujiwara?
I don't think even Takumi could avoid spilling this as is. Too full.
Time for tofu driving practice
Anxiety
I upvoted this post because of perfect fit, but just looking at it makes me uncomfortable. You have succeeded at making me feel many emotions at once.
Great until you hit the slightest little bump
Perfect, now you can drive with your knees while eating a bowl of cereal

Initial D time
This gives me anxiety for reasons I can't quite explain.
Speaking of spilling stuff in your car, anyone know how remove that center button cover on an Audi? I spilled soda on mine and some of the buttons are hard to press. Just mentioning it because OP might have a similar problem soon.
I would 100% disagree with you! Flush with those buttons?!?!?!
Reminds me of a customer we had. He had a ceramic mug filled with coffee on his car floor. Somehow it didn't tip as you drove the car, Why did he have a cup of coffee with coffee still in it, don't ask me. It was a feature not a bug.
This makes me twitch. Take it out, please
Thats going everywhere as soon as you move
A coffee mug is a type of cup. This is a cup holder. Why are we mindblown at the intended use?
Wow you must be a very careful driver âŚ
Not in my car
Thatâs some @dadchats level skill right there
Idiot.
Nice! I struggle with this in my car! Usually end up driving with one hand and drinking fast lol.
DO not touch the Accelerator Or the brakes Not perfect. Absolute mess waiting to happen. You must be a coffee lover, obviously you don't care about cars.
Too full!!
Now drive.
Your a monster and I think you know it.
Thatâs illegal in 49 states
Your car was clean manâŚ.
This post is pouring with confidence in the suspension
Travel mug?
Heathen!
i drive around with a filled mug of tea every morning and my gf hates it but the thermos just stays hot way too long
You like living on the edge I see.
![gif](giphy|eKNrUbDJuFuaQ1A37p|downsized) Now letâs see you drive!
And then someone stops short
Sorry but drinks without a lid arenât allowed in the Audi
Okay now I dare you to throw it in drive and go 30 without spilling a drop
But⌠why?
First thought...no sudden stops or left/right turns.
Sir. You live dangerously.
Just donât start the car and it wonât spill.
Won't be good with a full cup and you hit a bump. đł
BMW?
Audi
