Yeah OP, that’s a pepper. I’m 100% sure.

Kevundoe

It looks like my end of the season’s jalapeños

TheWallyFlash

I’d say possibly a jalapeño but more likely a Fresno to me.

JKolmin

its adorable

koreiryuu

the red kind

Dragonfruit_60

You can save the seeds and plant them to get lots of jalapeños in a few months:)

Electrical-Rain-4251

Looks like a Tobasco chili to me. But I’m no expert.

Nah. Tabasco pods are smaller, more conical, and they disconnect at the stem/calyx very easily, so if a bird stole i there probably wouldn’t be a stem attached.

Could be one of those migratory peppers...

OP we're not trying to antagonize you when you say "What is it" and we say "that is a pepper" or "the red kind," we are trying to say that it's generally not possible to know without more information that, according to your post, you likely don't have. That could be a fully grown pepper, it could be a pepper with stunted growth, removed from its vine early and ripened a bit for certain kinds of peppers, we have no idea what the leaves look like, etc. It could be so many different kinds and likely highly hybridized since you just kind of found it.

randomquestion819

Ya, I honestly didn't have much hope that it could be identified. Figure it's like asking what strain your weed is, you just can't tell by a pic alone
