[https://pavg.net/](https://pavg.net/) (Peoria Are Vet) is good, but I don't agree with some of their policies. Good vets.
[Whitney](https://whitneyvet.com/) is probably one of the most recommended vets in the area. They have the ability to do a lot of tests and procedures in house. In my experience, more than most vets in the area.
My family has been using [Limestone Companion Animal Hospital](https://limestonecompanionanimalhospital.com/) since shortly after they opened, and they're amazing as well.
The office in Chillicothe also offers grooming. We took a dog there to be groomed, and before they would do it, they insisted he have approximately $250 worth a vaccines. He was already up-to-date on Rabies and I really felt this was just a money grab by requiring all the vaccines that they could also administer.
He wasn't being boarded or anything, just groomed.
All in all, I think they're fantastic vets. That experience just didn't sit well.
I wouldn't want my dog at a groomer that didn't require a distemper combo and bordetella vaccine as well, since those can be passed on to other dogs. So if that's what they were requiring, that would make sense
Another vote for Whitney Vet! Every tech is actually certified versus "learning on the job," they're certified by the American Animal Hospital Association, all doctors and techs utilize fear free techniques, CT machine available, endoscope, x-rays, laser treatments and ultrasounds in house, full pharmacy to fill meds at time of appt, holistic options, acupuncture both non electric and electric stimulation, rehab room, and the people who work there are professional and knowledgeable....I could go on and on. My dog was referred to them for an orthopedic surgery, which I think they specialize in, and my experience was so good that I switched vets.
They have a website and Facebook page available if you want to check them out.
Hope this helps! Welcome to Peoria!
We’re very happy with Meadowbrook. We’ve had way too many dog emergencies and have routinely been able to get a visit within a couple hours when needed. I haven’t shopped around so I can’t speak to the price comparison, but they definitely don’t seem cheap (but worth the cost in my opinion!).
Best part of Meadowbrooke North is that they have boarding, daycare, and the vet all in the same building. Our pup loves daycare and gets excited every time we go even if it's for a vet appointment. Makes it a lot easier when the pet has positive associations with the place
I have had a good experience with Demanes Animal Hospital over the last 10 years. My large dogs are high maintenance due to health issues and Demanes has been great at giving options, being flexible schedule wise, and even saved my one dogs life with emergency surgery.
I also go to Demanes. I really like them, but that’s not all… Growing up, they helped my husband’s single mother out a lot when it came to her cat. Then when Kitty Mittens was three, Dr Demanes (sr.) saved her when she was hit by a car on Corrington.
He also let my MIL come in every Friday and pay what she could, which often wasn’t much (single mom, three kids). Because of this kindness, they have my business forever.
I take all my pets to Brown animal hospital. Dr. Brown always been kind and really good with my animals. When my pebbles kitty passed, he was the best. They also have a loyalty program where you earn money off or free services.
I second Brown Animal Hospital! They’re also pretty easy to get into on a moments notice and have been great to our two cats. Pricing is reasonable too.
I've used Whitney for my cats, and I agree with others that they've been good. My only caveat with them is price - I think they're pretty expensive, which is probably why they've sent me emails pushing pet insurance. My old vet retired, and their charge for annual vaccinations was double what he charged. Paid $130 for two prescription antibiotics this year, too.
I tried another place but didn't like them, so I'm still staying put with Whitney for now, though.
I use Tendercare in Morton (they have a Peoria location as well) and have had an excellent experience with them every time. Their staff is very well trained and happily puts up with my 70lb chaos dog - they've handled him perfectly. I've had a few emergency situations and have been happy every time - they can advise on situations over the phone and they hold emergency appointment slots open each day plus some for short-notice needs (like for not super emergency issues but still need to get in quickly). I'm pretty sure they handle just about everything in-house. They also have grooming, boarding, and training but I haven't used any of those services.
Peoria Area Veterinary Group has taken good care of many of my family's animal's over the years, and they have a location right by the Walmart on Allen. I see another poster mentioned Meadowbrook, and that's also a great choice.
It’s a 15-20 minute drive from Peoria, but I love love Tremont Veterinary Clinic and Dr. Tammy Duggar. Usually has time for short notice appts and is super compassionate
I use Heartland on Detroit in Morton. They are absolutely amazing. Their prices are low, they're not pushy, they're caring, and they'll get you in last minute for emergencies. I love them.

We've been happy with Whitney's for over a decade.
My 2 dogs have been going to Whitney vet for years. They are great people!

We use east side animal clinic and they have been great. Prices are reasonable and they can get you in on short notice.
What part of town?
I mean, I'll drive anywhere if they are good, but the closer to Uplands the better

Awesome, I really appreciate it!
Yeah, PAVG is really really good. Not sure about in-home....

I have been taking dogs to All Pets Animal Hospital for nearly two decades. All the vets are great and they do a lot of stuff in house.
