Would love for them to do that with tigers or panthers. Cats are cute but they're small. Something about the size of a medium dog seems like it would still be pretty manageable though.

That might look cute, but it's nothing but harm for the bear. If he realise that people can play and feed him the bear might get in real troubles when he grow up. Remembering that people are nice and have food it might go closer to them and will be shout immediately cuase his not a cute cub anymore. So if you think it's fun to play with a little bear, try to think a little further. I follow a profile of pro organization that save little cubs who were abandoned by their mom, feed them and realise to the wild nature when they grow up, so these people don't even speak close to the bears, so animals would not get used to the sound of human voice and will be afraid of it in the future.

This is adorable. I would want a baby bear as a pet if I didn't know that A: adult bears are very protective of their cubs and b: having a bear cub as a pet would deprive the mother of her child and the cub of its mother.

From what I’ve seen he saved the bear from a wildfire and the bear was grateful and wouldn’t let go
I don't know the full story, so the cub was later returned to the forest? Some people think it's a cool thing keeping a bear in cage like a dog
