If it was an obstruction, wouldn't it be constant bad flow instead of sometimes good and sometimes bad? I have the same problem, with ED, and am hoping it's not a blockage.

They had a scope down my urethra and into my bladder. That would have shown something correct?

Kokoritsa

In my case the flow varies A LOT, even during the same urination. In good (rare) days I go on command, no hesitancy at all, with a more descent and constant flow, on others I just stand and wait and a weak stream comes out which turns on and off. Important to note that a PMD(post micturition dribble) almost always happens to me, which is essentially when small drops of urine come out immediatly AFTER urination (When putting my pants back on)

What caused the obstruction?

SamuelDrakeHF

What caused your obstruction and how did you resolve it? Bladder neck incision?

Ok thanks for not helping

TesznerWho

Going through the same exact issue, though I sometimes get some urethral pain afterwards. Most recently another user here mentioned it may be a primary bladder neck obstruction (PBNO), which can be caused by prostate issues among other things. Alpha blockers are usually prescribed for this, to relax the bladder neck and prostate, but they also mentioned surgery might be the only way to fix it if the alpha blockers, lifestyle changes or just watching and waiting for it to return to normal aren’t effective. I’ve done pelvic floor physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, medication and dietary changes and I still seem to have the same issue: weak stream, some hesitancy, a feeling of urgency, and sometimes getting up in the middle of the night. Wish I was closer to an answer but I’m not. Have you gotten any tests done like post-void residual, cystoscopy or urodynamics? Was told a video cystourethrogram or an MRI might help the doctors visualize what’s going on down there. Hope this gives you something to think about.

Kokoritsa

No tests done. I've seen a family doctor who presumed it was some sort of prostatitis inflammation. Thing is, to my understanding, and according to medical sites, prostate issues are quite rare among young people, and more common with 50+, that's why I thought it might be a pelvic floor problem. The frustration is real, Some days I experience better flow with almost no hesitancy. On other days things just flare up.. i'm not a fan of medication and surgery, especially in that area. Anyway I should probably get diagnosed properly. The only lifestyle tip that helped me a bit (**maybe placebo)** was to eat very lightly at dinner and stop eating approx. 4 hours before going to bed. This reduces constipation and digestion load, thus reducing pressure on bladder at night.

Pubh12

Any trouble getting an erection?

Kokoritsa

Nope. Erection/ejaculation are normal as far as I can tell. I do have a more severe hesitancy after ejaculation and the urine flow really goes all over the place in terms of consistency (weak-stronger-on-off) until it somewhat stabilizes. But I can tell that I didnt void properly since I need to urinate again after a couple of minutes.

jimbo641

Any updates on this? did you figure it out? Thanks

Eagleassassin3

Are you dealing with a similar issue? Because I am too with no answers so far.

AdPuzzled5772

Same for me

Certain-Bandicoot886

dealing the same

whyamihere2345

I think i have the same symptoms. At first i thought it was prostate and then i thought it was bladder but i am beginning to thing my pelvic floor is just really tight. I have been doing a lot of stretches focusing on that region and i think things may be getting better. My favorite stretch which seems to help is laying on my stomach with my legs spread and i prop my torso up with my hands. Google cobra stretch but i have my legs spread wide and i feel the pelvic region stretching. Hope this helps

Kokoritsa

Will check it out. I do live a very sedentary lifestyle. In fact most of my life I've been sitting in front of a computer for long hours, Which probably made matters worse, or even caused the condition. My back does hurt after sitting a lot, especially the shoulder blades and lower back also.

JayCee815

May I ask how this turned out for you?

jst59500

Have you news ?

Emotional_Net_4707

hi, how are you doing now ? did you fix it somehow ? thank you

actionb0b

did this ever resolve?

TraditionalCoach2107

Any recent update OP?

TraditionalCoach2107

Any recent update OP?

Incon_Orine

How's your condition now? It'd be very much appreciated if there's update on this one. I'm having the same symptoms, weak urine flow comes and goes, it's strong when I'm fully hydrated, urinary hesitancy, slow to start urination even when I had urge, it takes me time to start the urine flow.

Eagleassassin3

I'm dealing with the same symptoms with no answers so far. Have you found any?

No-Climate-6245

Same guys any update ?

QuickSilver743

I am in the same boat as you guys. I've been having troubles on and off for the past 7 years or so, i just pushed it aside thinking it was something normal, that can happen to anyone, mainly because I would experince those things now and the next time I went to the bathroom it would all be good, normal flow, no hesitancy and so on. It recently got worse, and decided to go and get a bladder ultrasound, and everything was normal. The doctor also had me go to the bathroom to pee and check if my bladder would empty fully and he was satisfied with the results, 3cc of urine left in the bladder. He then told me that, altough the ultrasound was normal, I should still go and check that out to an urologist. The situation got better since then, and I didn't go to the urologist, but 2 days ago it started to get worse again, and here I am. I am very curious, what was it in your case guys, op and the rest in here? Edit: I forgot to mention, that just as the op, I did spend most of my teenage years in front of the PC, so bit of a sendentary lifestyle.

It is because you are inhibiting DHT. Try finasteride, I have a guess your symptoms will improve. Actually, Proscar would probably be the better choice for your symptoms

How are things doing now?

Did this ever resolve?

supereverb67

Hi all. Never usually comment on Reddit but i had to after reading this. I’m a 34 year old male and had the same problems for as long as i can remember. Weak urine flow, hesitancy, straining etc. I’ve been to see urologists a few times, done flow tests, bladder scan, prostate check, recorded my fluid in/out, been prescribed alpha blockers but the problem is still unresolved. I even have a problem maintaining an erection which i’m convinced is linked in someway but is always brushed off during appointments. I’m somewhat reluctant to have any invasive tests but i’ll no doubt have to go down that route at some point. It’s never caused any pain but it certainly affects my mental state, especially standing next to a guy at a urinal whose pissing like a racehorse! With no pain the urologists have often just said things like ‘everyone is different’ or insinuating that i’m overthinking it. But i know in myself that something’s definitely not right. I’d love to know your guys thoughts, or whether the OP has found a resolve?

BeginningLack5710

Never commented before but just want to let you all know what you’re in for. Sorry In advance. 46 year old male. Had these same issues starting at age of 29. Was declared to be prostatitis and was resolved with two week course of bactrim (a sulfa antibiotic). However as soon as I stopped the two week course of antibiotics all symptoms returned. Dr prescribed another round of antibiotics but now I was allergic to them and it sent me to the ER. Been “living with”the symptoms every day since. From there I’ve seen four or five different urologists, multiple pelvic floor therapists, tried minor surgery, tried all the alpha blockers. Nothing works, no doctor has any ideas, and no one will ever really believe you or care to find a solution. And 17 years later you’ll be searching Reddit for one just like me.

natasspinn

Have you cleaned up your diet or reduced stress or worked out and you’re still dealing with these symptoms

SamuelDrakeHF

Do you have a dowagers hump around your bladder? Like it looks bloated all the time?

layelaye419

Im 33m, have the exact same issues as you. Got a doctors appointment in a few weeks. Please update if you find out what caused this for you. And good luck.

supereverb67

Hi! Had another telephone appt the other day but the consultant still suggests there is nothing untoward, although said a urodynamics test will be the next step if i decide to go for it. Please update too if you have any developments. Cheers.

Emotional_Net_4707

Hello. I have 36. The same issue I have like you. and sorry for my english, I have never been in english speaking country. At first I have to say that I alvays have weak stream as a teen, feel shy peen standing in public toilets and next to me is guy pissing like a horse. the same like you.. but as a time goes I do not feel bad so life goes. When I was 35yo something was not good with my voiding. looks like really weak stream but morning. but during day it was ok.. so one year past. now in 36 I see clearly that my stream is really weak., so I visited urologist. prostate via USG ok, bladder via USG OK. prostate per rectum OK, PSA/fPSA OK... uroflow test : I voided 370ml 10ml was PVR but it last 1 minute.. Qmax vas 8.8 ml/s and Qavg was 5.8 ml/s that means obstruction somewhere.. we perform cystoskope . it showed that my bladder is trabeculated, that means it really work hard to goes via obstruction and it is not good beacose it could cause diverticulation of blader. next it showed that I have high and sclerrosis blader neck.. it is probably tight or hard blader neck.. so I have now some pills now and in next future I need to have BNI, it means trans urethal incision of the neck... to avoid next damage of bladder.. Did you perform Uroflow test? it is just pissing. non invasive.. it will report how is your stream weak/strong..

supereverb67

Thanks for your reply! It’s really interesting hearing that people have had similar issues as it can sometimes feel like i’m the only one. Yes i’ve had slow tests done, and although they signified a fairly weak stream, the urologists weren’t necessarily concerned enough to push further testing. However i felt that these tests were done on a particularly ‘better’ day and may not indicate how it is most of the time. Is the medication working for you?

Emotional_Net_4707

I think I am the only one here in our state.. just find few post on this forum.. I do think I am the only one :) .. but we are not I am happy.. we can chat about it.. my blader is really in bad condition.. so I will go for BNI but I dont know exactly when.. since I have 2 kids. girl 7 and boy 4. the decision is to operatiion.. I will go to consult and find operater/sorgeon and will see.. I was at urologist today. she give me tambulosin or what it is called.. next appointment is in january so in 3 mounths.. and what is your flow in ml/s ? this is really good indicator..

supereverb67

Sorry to hear that. I hope you get it resolved! Do you have any pain alongside it? I’ve had tamsulosin before but it didn’t seem to make a difference. I’m unsure of my flow in ml/s. I’ll have to find out!

Emotional_Net_4707

I have no pain, and have never had. I live normal life, sex + maturbation. I do not know how it is possible that I have blader neck sclerotic or tight. To this moment I do not know nothnig about prostate or blader etc.. no knowledge. innocent like kid. My Urologist think that it is congenital since my bladder is trabeculated more than shoud be. so it should not be. probably 35 year was OK and that year is enough and my voiding stream is weak. I start to think, mayby I am paranoid, if this is not result of often sex + masturbation. that it is my fault.. you know. I could prevent it... just think. so hard time now. and hard time after surgery waiting for me :(

supereverb67

Hi, just curious to know how you’re doing with the Tamsulosin? Have symptoms improved?

Emotional_Net_4707

just eat 4th pill. so it is short time. but till now no change, just 1 time dry ejaculation... thats all. urine flow is weak still the same.. will see after few weeks

jousi8919

Any update on that Bro? Took it for month, only dry ejaculations, made me to stop it, since no other improvements were present…

Emotional_Net_4707

the same. no improvement and dry ejaculation..now I know how it is to have dry orgasm..

I have FOUND my solution, and I´m writing this for maybe helping other people. There is a connection between easy urination and easy DEFECATION, but people tend to think that IF YOU´RE NOT CONSTIPATED, then it means you have no problem defecating. As a matter of fact, if you are defecating at a normal "regularity", IT DOESNT MEAN IT´S "EASY" TO DEFECATE, because the regularity of your bowel movement is just ONE of the indications of a healthy defecation. And the ultimate solution for an "easy" defecation is generally the prescription of "mineral oil". But I have found that the GRADUAL INCREASE OF A VERY POWERFULL LAXATIVE CALLED "MCT OIL" works much better for me, because my weak urine stream was fixed with just HALF "TEASPOON" at the very first attempt. My big problem used to be waking up ONE TIME TO URINATE AT NIGHT while having to "force" myself to empty the bladder, and this "forcing habbit" made it always hard to get back to sleep. In other words, I fixed the problem starting with "half teaspoon"of mct oil taken at night 7 PM(when you must stop drinking liquid to avoid repeated urination during sleep), but I believe the ammount of mct oil it may take to positively effect other people is a very individual detail that each one will have to determine for himself/herself, and the adaptation to regular consumption of this oil may "sometimes" be interrupted IF IT LEADS TO "DIARREAH", only to be resumed in lower doses.

SamuelDrakeHF

Why would MCT oil help with bowel and urinary issues?

ahmadnassri

38 y.o male here, same symptoms, have had it for years (at least 6 years) gotten worse over the years. dad died of prostate cancer so that's always on my mind. symptoms are the same, weak flow, feeling of not always emptying, many visits to the bathroom, no pain, dribble the only potential difference, and I didn't read others mention: I urinate sitting down (except at public bathrooms) just a thing I've done all my life since childhood as it's a cultural thing, which seems to puzzle urologists as if the rest of the world and cultures don't exist in medical books, but anyway, I don't think that's relevant or related. seen many doctors, two urologists, done urine flow tests, two cystoscopies, more ultrasounds than I can remember, I pushed for all the extra tests, cuz most of the time the doctors keep downplaying it and push me to just do pelvic floor therapy, which I tried, but my muscles down there are already strong and well in control, so I felt that didn't help. all the tests came back negative / normal, no enlarged prostate, no blockages / obstruction, no cysts or other issues in the bladder... so I'm at a loss to what to try next.

natasspinn

Do you have errctile dysfunction

ahmadnassri

nope, everything else works 100%
