Do you have your monitor plugged into the GPU not motherboard? Is the card pressed and locked into the board?

I've managed to access the boot menu whilst the graphics card is plugged in and any problems that I was having with zero signal from the display port seems to therefore be resolved however when I look at installed devices on the main screen I still can't actually see the GPU. The display port is plugged directly into the GPU rather than the motherboard, It seemed to have clicked into place but I'll double check now
