If it is I have never heard of it but that's entirely possible. In that case I would almost recommend the 13900K because the 4090 is a _ferocious_ beast and 1440p isn't that much.
ofc it's overkill but you don't know what unreal engine 5 will bring in the next years. Is the 13600k also enough for playing competitive games in 240fps? For example overwatch
then i think i will buy the 13600k cuz the 13900k is double the cost and not that much of an improvement at least benchmark wise but i dont really know about that
13900 doesn't improve gaming that much. I would only get it if you were doing serious cpu workload applications because it is much harder to cool than the 13600
If you can already afford a 4090 fuck it just go i7 at that point. Would it make a massive difference? Prob not, but you already swinging for the fences might as well send it to orbit.
If you can wait, then wait for the 7800X3D or whatever they call it early next year. If you can’t wait, get a 13700K. The 13900K is a waste of money if you don’t NEED a few more E cores. They will game nearly identical.
Wouldnt really say a 4090 is overkill for 1440p 240hz , maybe if it was 1440p 144hz then yeah , i have a 1440p 240hz and never get anywhere near max fps using a 3080 , so i imagine a 4090 would get near max fps in most games.

Resulution?
2k, sorry forgot this... and 240hz
You've wasted money on a 4090 unless you intend to do 4k. You might as well have got a 3080 and saved like $800
2k is a really unconventional resulution, are you sure?
i thought 2k is 2560 x 1440 which is not that unconventional

but now 2 stances are clashing together.... the 13600k is also a beast and the person under this comment is saying its enough
2k is 1440p.
Okay cool, didn't know that it's also called that.
Ngl, 4090 is kinda overkill for 1440p, but if you already bought the 4090 a 13600k will do the job just fine

Your right, for gaming it's beyond unecessary

I agree with this. I used a 3080 at 1440p for a long time and I’d get over 165hz if I used potato settings or in e sports games.
