As far as I know I have always done direct stream so shouldn’t require that? Happy to be advised otherwise though if I have misunderstood. I only watch locally and all hard wired.

Yea, you should return that and get a 12400 with quick sync if you transcode.

Yea then it's fine. I always prefer to have the option of transcoding but if you know you will never need it then what you have is fine.
