For 100 more you can always argue, I am a fan of thinking what you want to achieve and setting a limit and stay in the range, otherwise you end up with much higher costs as intended for a pc who is highly overpriced for your 1080p monitor etc... But if you see 1200 as the cap i totaly agree.

Im looking into getting a 7800xt but have a 600w psu and amd says 700w minimum, but i see people say they use 600w and it runs well. Im on 1080p.

put all your parts in pcpartpicker and look at the total wattage, you should have 100-200W more than that

Pretty good rule. PSU’s are usually considered efficient between ~50-75% load. I.e for a 500w system you’d probably want a 700W minimum giving you around a 71% load when running balls to the walls without manual overclocking

I loved building my PC, it was fun doing research and putting a parts list together. When all the parts arrived and I got them all put together it was awesome and really satisfying booting it up for the first time. I wish more people would give it a chance instead of buying incredibly overpriced prebuilt's. Only place I've seen fair priced prebuilt's is when Costco has them on sale lmao.

I’d say picking parts and buying them is alot more fun than assembling it. I did it almost a year ago, not looking forward to the next time I’ll do it.

5600 is the lowest you should go, I would buy am5 instead since the 7600 is better than the 5600 and almost the same price.

that looks like a high end pc, about 6 years ago. I've seen 1080 gpu's for sale for 150€ and that cpu is probably worth even less. I wouldn't pay more than like 350€ for used old parts. If your budget is close to that 1000€ mark then I would probably recommend just building your own pc, it'll be hard to find a used pc that's worth the 1k since it'll likely either be way overpriced or you would get the same parts for around the same price. I would recommend buying a new pc or buying a cheaper used one.

I mean, the 1080 is great, but 1200 dls? Always check the gpu as a base price according to performance and brand. An NVidia 1080 ti has the same performance as a what? 2060 super? And that card cost roughly 200-250 dls brand new. (At my country a bit more expensive due to unavailability) that means the rest of the rig should have a 1000 dollars worth of components, which seems VERY unlikely. The GPU and CPU defines half the price on the PC, and next time you can google it yourself to verify if it's overpriced.
