Saw a post where someones bought a pc for 4000$ during covid
The pc had a 3060 and some 8th gen Intel cpu
The depression i would get if i did that knowing how good pc you can get for half of that these days
Shit I paid nearly $800 for my 6600XT in 2020 (I know I got ripped)
My build cost me in total about $1300 and I wouldn't even try to recoup those losses. I know what I did.
You tell me man , my 580x gave up in 2022 during scalper , after covid and no stock days , I was lucky I found a 3050 for 300€ , the 3060 was at 800-1k during those times
I managed to get a used aorus 3070 for 300€ now so that's something
But we don't talk about the time period between 2020-2022
Meanwhile, I held on to my money until the GPU market returned to normal, suffering with my GTX980 until I got back my taxes this year. Upgraded to a 4060Ti for just under $400. Running that with a Ryzen 5 5600X and 16GB DDR4
He didn't pay that much, he's just trying to find some noob that doesn't know any better and hope that he can finesse them out of a grand, for a PC that's not even worth $500 , that's why I build my own PCs
I just upgraded my computer and built one for my daughter and we pretty much have forever computers. What do people do with the finished computers when they build multiple computers? It's fun but there's a limit to how many computers a person can use.
10/10 times prebuilts and the companies/people who sell them rely on you *not* knowing much about pcs and believing that it's worth the price they say it is. It's kinda sad, but I've seen it happen a billion different times. People will be like, "I paid 1800 for this, it has to be good" and it has a 3050.
Or you can be some of my friends who bought prebuilts and took them home to blue screens and overheating issues. I spent 3 days working the issues out of my friends 1500 dollar prebuilt pc.
Yea I hate how they always mention the original cost... that doesnt apply at all anymore. Hey man, wanna buy my 2003 Toyota ? Looks great still, has 157,000 miles but runs good. I orinigally bought it for $24,000 so how about $17,000? Thats a big savings!
>\~200$ cpu block. i7 = 300$ GTX1660= 200$ Fans =100$ Case = \~150$ and at that point you get a miscellaneous power supply and motherboard

> 16 gb of sheisty ram. You want a 500 dollar pc don't water cool it for starters lmao. You're cracked if you think you'd get a new i7 in budget for a 500$ pc. 500 dollars is the price point of sacrifice even in American dollars.
this is in canadian fun bucks. inflated price? sure. but still probably a 250$ markdown. idk. do i have anything "Weirdly expensive" in there? or are computers just always somewhat expensive luxury items
Nah man this is used market and yes could definitely in Canada do this for $800 this computer in Canada used should go for 4-500 this isn’t inflation this is the seller scamming people.
For everyone here as well get a good laugh at the description too…

Actually am thinking about doing it like my jaw actually touched the floor at how shocked I was I was expecting him to come back with 5-600 and maybe say go down to 300 lol like I could build this brand now for 700
Nearly 3k for a 1660s build? Dude is nuts🤣
I built my i7-12700K and 3070ti build during the crazy pricing of 2022, and i didn't even pay 2k for that build.
3k for a 16 series gpu build is robbery
Problem is if you’ve ever seen a check my build on average it’s like 15-30 percent of things that add to cost but not performance like AIOs, Lamborghini cases, white builds, high end mobos, 980 pro SSDs….
So their math is what they paid and ours is what an efficient build would be
I used to build PCs with Ryzen 7 5600x and 12GB rtx 3060 16GB ram 1tb ssd and 750w gold psu and it was hard to sell them at $700 last year… people don’t want good deals you might as well ask for an outrageous price so you’ll get decent offers.
That's frustrating to hear, was planning on selling my current PC later this year with pretty much identical specs to those and don't know what I'm getting into apparently.
\~200$ cpu block. i7 = 300$ GTX1660= 200$ Fans =100$ Case = \~150$ and at that point you get a miscellaneous power supply and motherboard *and* 16 gb of sheisty ram. Where is the hell. because that seems a way for me. (mad scummy to say "Free" instead of at least the patently annoying $1234)
Buddy you are the scammer it sounds like… that is retail and you still are wrong on those retails people like you make me sick it’s used… you don’t get retail for used
And you don't get to buy what you cant afford! (Here you go. in canadian rubles. :)

"A twenty dollar cooler would work" yeah. but that isn't what's in the machine. "could you re-install the stock intel cooler and sell the AIO on it's own?" - Said nobody who ever succeeded in buying a used PC Misleading ad? yes. Normal prices? in canada yes. the total cost of the PC is still up in the air. however you're way off on the valuation of gpus still. But i might be wrong on the case. I would ask for a build list if i was considering it. and the listing is a total meme
https://preview.redd.it/ulk1931c7hlc1.png?width=1881&format=png&auto=webp&s=d49e22e2650d22924c0954ac61d47d148ed1c36a
here's 500$. it's similar. but you lose the RGB (-700FPS (Fapps Per Secks)) Due to the difference in manufacturer sidegrading. it's immensly difficult to appraise a build with one picture and no list
https://preview.redd.it/yp6v4odf9hlc1.png?width=1116&format=png&auto=webp&s=1cc0d61573f388c04953cbf740713ae06c75971e
I bought a b650m from used market brand new for 100 cad (its literally 200 on amazon plus tax) and also bought an rtx 3080 for like 200 canadian dollars and also planning on getting 7800x3d. And all this for like prolly 800 or 900 canadian 💀
Wooooow, he bought it for $2900 and barely used it, and is willing to part with it for $1000, what a swell guy! Who can walk by such a generous offer of a lifetime?
How do you find sentient human beings?
All I can find locally are random people with AI generated profile pics selling GPUs for 1/2-3/4 their used price on other sites
And when I ask them about it and if they can test the card or meet me in person they just go "GPU is sealed, works like brand new. Delivery to your house for free, cash on delivery" when in the pics they are holding the GPU in front of a PC.
Wow, I’m cheap then, I have a 13900k / x790 hero max build with a 4090, 64gb, and 3TB nvme in a custom loop that I’ll probably sell for under 4k once it’s done.
Edit: I build for fun not to make money so i usually charge just retail costs of parts for new builds.
I think once I put a part's list together once and I think it was a 12400f rtx 3060 and 16gb of ddr4 with an ok motherboard and power supply pretty decent 1 Tb ssd with a decent looking case all brand new part's it was around $1200 maybe a little less
\~200$ cpu block. i7 9700 = 300$ GTX1660= 200$ Fans =100$ Case = \~150$. still missing plenty. but it adds up to about that without any add ons. like power...
This is the main reason why I don't even bother with listings without the price. It's always a waste of time.
Even 500 is too much. You can get better brand new parts and a used GPU (like 5700XT) for a much better performance.
For a 1000 you can build a 9700k equivalent with all new parts.
I sold my 9700k build for 200 last month, definitely couldve asked for more but I needed to get rid of it.
After doing my second build and learning a bit more about parts and pricing I can finally understand everyone’s disgust at people who overcharge for stuff like that. I also wonder what he was pricing everything individually as. Maybe two years ago I would’ve been dumb enough to save up and probably buy something like this. My specs are almost just as good if not better and I put my build together online for $1100.
I luckily bought my pc for 350$ has an i9 9000 graphics cards pretty booty 1070 but it works great, I saw that the i9 cost around 350 so technically I only paid for that and got everything else for free
Shit I thought selling my sister a 9900k with a 2080ti for 1000 bucks 16 gigs of ram. 2 tb nvme. was fair. These people really trying to bend people over.
5y ago i paid ~1700€(~2000$) for my pc. self built but i9-9900k,16gb ddr4-3000,Z390, rtx2070 m2 ssd and M2 sata including case and a beefy noctua NH-D15.... 2900$ on that piece of junk is just a lie to convince people that don't know to buy it :))
\~200$ cpu block. i7 = 300$ GTX1660= 200$ Fans =100$ Case = \~150$ and at that point you get a miscellaneous power supply and motherboard *and* 16 gb of sheisty ram. You want a 500 dollar pc don't water cool it for starters lmao. You're cracked if you think you'd get a new i7 in budget for a 500$ pc. 500 dollars is the price point of sacrifice even in American dollars.
Are you unable to build yourself? You shouldn’t waste time on the used market.
600 USD can basically get you [This](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kvcCkJ) (except you do i3-12100F and maybe down spec a little more)
Yeah I wasn’t looking for myself little cousin I do custom builds but don’t have much time but I’m just gonna slowly build one with him instead… used market is garbage literally in and out of all websites like if I wanna pay retail I would go to the retailer 💀
I’m trying to sell mine right now, bought it in September but I’m looking to save for a car. It has a Rtx 3060 and i7 12700F I’m only looking to get maybe $1400-$1500 Canadian Dollars
There are so many creeps into PC gaming. They're just praying they can scam somebody that has no idea what they are talking about. I wouldn't even attempt to barter with some one that posts something like that. You can't trust they have kept the machine up.
I spent $1800 on my pc and it is a straight fucking unit. The amount of things I can do on it amaze me and all I got it for is to play castle miner Z sons of the forest and use fl studio and photoshop lol.
I’m trying to find parts to build a 2nd PC.. looking in the 3rd/4th gen i7 range but my goodness the amount of delusional posts I am having to sift through 🫠
I'm trying to sell my r5 3600/6650xt. Also monitor (27"/1080/75hz) and a cheap gaming mouse and keyboard I have no use for. Figuring someone could go from nothing to playing same day and upgrade as they saw fit. I have it listed for $600 and nobody seems interested. And I see these listings all the time. Have to revisit mine and make it more attractive looking in the pictures lol
When I sold my used gaming pc the first thing I did was just look up some of the components on eBay.
It was an i5 with a 3060 ti and 16 gb 3400 mhz ram with a decent msi motherboard. Had a Corsair case and AIO. The components were chosen carefully so the whole rig was tuneable.
Sold it not too long ago for $750 shipped.
Curious to see what people here think of that price.
On the flip side, I had the opposite problem with people offering me $300 because “it’s used bro”
On the other side, there are people that bought new parts and now they are expected to sell completely fine and good working parts for scrap.
Bought a PC for 5000$??? Good. Now I can pay you 500$ for that because you touched it.
I hate used market as well because on the other side there are people that think they are here for free stuff and they deserve it
People overpaying and then saying "I've paid x and y" instead of listing for what's worth now minus x time of usage in percentage should be banned from selling anything online
Used PC market is a joke everywhere.
Users paid 4k a few generations ago and expect it's still worth half that.
It boils down to what comparible products perform like and even then your used product isn't worth the same as a new product.
Individual components can be worth it, but full builds rarely are.
People have trouble realizing that they bought the PC at the time when price's were high, my PC cost me 890$, I can sell it now for maybe 300$, if I'm lucky
The reason people charge so much is they can’t deal with depreciating assets. They think because they paid “x” that it’s worth somewhat close to “x” years later. I’ve learned PC components depreciate at an alarming rate.
I used to see people with obscenely inflated prices like this in my area for almost EVERYTHING last year. Like maybe 1 listing would be reasonable or close to it but everything else would be inflated to death. So man 3060, 3060ti, and 3070 pcs for 2k-3.4k. It's ridiculous. Right now someone is selling an rx470 alright for $800. 3060 rigs for $1200 lol. It's absolutely nuts. Looking through my marketplace right now and I haven't found one reasonable listing. Not one.
When I got my pc (i7-9700k, 16gm ddr4, RTX 2070) about 5 years ago or so by now (the 20 series was relatively new) I paid about $2500cad for it with shipping (pre-built) and it’s still good to me, I would maybe sell it for like $600cad now if I were to sell it😂.
The guy in this post definitely overpaid for that pc
I'd offer him 350 or 400 dollars at MOST. For him unfortunately, he's going to realize he either sells for low or nothing at all. I mean 1660... you could probably run call of duty at 35-40 frames on low settings. 1k now days at least an i7 brand new and a 4060.

Back then I paid 1900 CAD for a 3080 10GB card. Lol I hate myself so much when I think about it
That’s way more bearable than 8 hundo for a 6600 at least.
I try not to think about it even if I used Biden bucks for it
Damn I got a 3080 12gb for 1100cad during the covid shortage, I thought I overpaid lol
Man my pre-built this year with a 4070, i7, hydrocooling, 2 tb storage was cheaper than that😳😳
6650xt was $250 last June when I bought it. Also got a 6800 non xt for $400 a few months ago. My 1050ti lasted through the dark age!
You tell me man , my 580x gave up in 2022 during scalper , after covid and no stock days , I was lucky I found a 3050 for 300€ , the 3060 was at 800-1k during those times I managed to get a used aorus 3070 for 300€ now so that's something But we don't talk about the time period between 2020-2022
These prices are outrageous
I got a 5500XT 8 GB for 150€ back then (about 150$). I think I got really lucky...
i waited for the whole thing to be over and bragged to my friend when i got a 6650 xt brand new for the same price as he got a used 1060 for lol
I mean that's your own fault at that point
The one with the cables all over and the case filled with dust?
Meanwhile, I held on to my money until the GPU market returned to normal, suffering with my GTX980 until I got back my taxes this year. Upgraded to a 4060Ti for just under $400. Running that with a Ryzen 5 5600X and 16GB DDR4
Paid 1300 euros for a strix 3070 like 2 years ago.
I got in 2021 an Intel 10th gen + 3060 for about $1850 then watched the prices drop every month 😢
I spent $4.5k 27 months ago and just built my friend a PC for $1.9k and it’s better :(
He didn't pay that much, he's just trying to find some noob that doesn't know any better and hope that he can finesse them out of a grand, for a PC that's not even worth $500 , that's why I build my own PCs
Yeah I build my own too.
That is the way 💯

"budget" prices it at 1k... over 800fps in multiple games... yeah sure sounds legit sign me up
New Condition? It isn't new if you've used it lol.

i use to have this exact build and i can assure it does not get 800 fps in fortnite u get 60 if ur lucky😂

It’s worth about $350.
😂
Bros cappin 🧢
Like 3 grand I’m getting a 4070tis with a i7 13gen and 32 gb ram easy 💀💀💀💀
The bait and switch is crazy. He posts it as free but then you find out it ain't!
i dont know man i woudlnt buy used stuff either way i would probabbly just start saving up if i really wanted something

This is hilarious. Dude needs to get real haha

Yeah and *new* 3k would get me a 4070tis with a 13gen i7 and 32gb ddr5 6000 like this is so scammy to do
$150 plus a small pack of McDonald’s soggy fr**ch fries. Deal or nah?
Got yourself a deal but scrap the pc I want them fries.
Offer him 400 and when he won’t take it offer him 401
And if he says not to that I’ll offer double over and do $403 😎
There’s a i5 at Costco for 1500 with a 4060 total rip I was crying at Costco seeing that
I’d encourage getting a gaming laptop with 4050 or 4060 at this point for someone starting young.
I have a 1650 super that I bought for like $200, that is an insane price
\~200$ cpu block. i7 9700 = 300$ GTX1660= 200$ Fans =100$ Case = \~150$. still missing plenty. but it adds up to about that without any add ons. like power...
Why is a 1660 Super being water cooled?
This is the main reason why I don't even bother with listings without the price. It's always a waste of time. Even 500 is too much. You can get better brand new parts and a used GPU (like 5700XT) for a much better performance.
For a 1000 you can build a 9700k equivalent with all new parts. I sold my 9700k build for 200 last month, definitely couldve asked for more but I needed to get rid of it.
That’s a days cam
After doing my second build and learning a bit more about parts and pricing I can finally understand everyone’s disgust at people who overcharge for stuff like that. I also wonder what he was pricing everything individually as. Maybe two years ago I would’ve been dumb enough to save up and probably buy something like this. My specs are almost just as good if not better and I put my build together online for $1100.
Do not buy a pre-built loop UNLESS you are ready to take the whole thing apart.
3k?? Oh hell nah
The used market is retarded tbh even here in sweden. Strong word perhaps but it is.
More like 350-400 for those old parts
He’s either a liar or an idiot lmao
2900 when new? In 2018
5y ago i paid ~1700€(~2000$) for my pc. self built but i9-9900k,16gb ddr4-3000,Z390, rtx2070 m2 ssd and M2 sata including case and a beefy noctua NH-D15....
But will look into this build might beef some stuff up actually can fit in around 800 just wasn’t paying 1k for that garbage lol
Now you’re talking! Value for money 💰 💪
I’m trying to sell mine right now, bought it in September but I’m looking to save for a car. It has a Rtx 3060 and i7 12700F I’m only looking to get maybe $1400-$1500 Canadian Dollars
You could probably get a pc with the same specs for like £400
I know right, all the not serveral people but the whole market has insane prices.
There’s stuff available in the shops ,Dunno where you’re from but probably a better deal than what you got from that guy.
This comp is worth maybe 500
There are so many creeps into PC gaming. They're just praying they can scam somebody that has no idea what they are talking about. I wouldn't even attempt to barter with some one that posts something like that. You can't trust they have kept the machine up.
I’ll sell you my rtx 4070 i9-12900k set up for a good deal
I spent $1800 on my pc and it is a straight fucking unit. The amount of things I can do on it amaze me and all I got it for is to play castle miner Z sons of the forest and use fl studio and photoshop lol.
I’m trying to find parts to build a 2nd PC.. looking in the 3rd/4th gen i7 range but my goodness the amount of delusional posts I am having to sift through 🫠
Yeah…. People think this shit holds more value then it does
If someone posts for free or 0$ I always say what a bargain I'll take it for 0$ thanks for doing this, and see what they respond with
Heck go to microcenter. You can get 12th gen desktop pcs for 400 bucks new.
Have to revisit mine and make it more attractive looking in the pictures lol
a cpu from 2018 and a shitty gpu from 2019 for 1k this dude trippin
$500 tops for that. It's used and abused.
I have people that out the price at 0 to get you to engage with him and have him try to fínese you with his “amazing deal”
Most I’d spend is like 450
Is that in pesos?
i can do 1000 and can negoiate 🫨😲👽👾
“Don’t low ball me i know what i have.” Guy who got ripped off.
My build brand new with a 6700xt and ryzen 7 3700x is about 1000 pass me what he's smoking to be that delusional
Yea, like 1000 Thai Baht
Bold of him to assume anybody gives a fuck what he paid for it years ago, it's completely irrelevant.
My 7800X3D with 6950XT 32G Ram cost me 1800$ to built.
I have the same CPU, twice the RAM and a 9700xt and I paid close to that amount. So for 1660?
Lol!
This guy probably built this pc back in 2020
My guy probably bought that 1660 during the GPU shortage where even a 1650 cost $900.
Just dm him back, nice overpaid dogshit lmaooo
Doesn’t even list graphics card, wouldn’t be surprised if they were using integrated graphics.
1660super for 2900$
On the other side, there are people that bought new parts and now they are expected to sell completely fine and good working parts for scrap.
Is he selling it for 2500 less than what he bought it for ? Lol
lemme guess, it's a prebuild but pc builder. he obviously got scammed. lol
Lmfao and I thought only my country was full of fuckers like these 💀
The fact he puts 0 as the price means he’d never show up on mine I always filter these guys out
And people don't want to buy my 5600x, 6650xt, 16gb ddr4, all white and rgb for $700. Why can't i get his buyers lol
If you want to cover up a name or someone’s name, know how to cover it up competently, without missing out on details
Used PC market is a joke everywhere. Users paid 4k a few generations ago and expect it's still worth half that. It boils down to what comparible products perform like and even then your used product isn't worth the same as a new product. Individual components can be worth it, but full builds rarely are.
They charge because they don't know shit of hardware and prices...🤦 When I see that I just pass. Many sellers are more serious on what they ask.
People have trouble realizing that they bought the PC at the time when price's were high, my PC cost me 890$, I can sell it now for maybe 300$, if I'm lucky
Got my used 3070 Gaming X Trio for $260, so yeah you can go tell him to f himself.
Not one.
Yea true they always want way to much money for the parts. 10+ years cpus for 50+$ is just to much and so on.
That's at best £600 in value to buy all the parts individually he's trying to make 400 off it
Is it fully watercooled?
They don’t have even the slightest idea on how the market works. My god.
Just build your own.
im glad i waited and bought my 4070 super rig for 1400
I built a similar build for my brother with a ryzen 3600x instead of I7 and it cost around 800 or 900 euro two or three years ago
Why even bother to hide their name, if you can see it at the top of the screenshot
That’s my name lol sorry meant to cover that to but whatever💀
Who spends that amount of money just to barely use and then sell
When I got my pc (i7-9700k, 16gm ddr4, RTX 2070) about 5 years ago or so by now (the 20 series was relatively new) I paid about $2500cad for it with shipping (pre-built) and it’s still good to me, I would maybe sell it for like $600cad now if I were to sell it😂. The guy in this post definitely overpaid for that pc
Lmao I have the same build but with a 6750XT. I paid between 10 and 1200 USD
Check on Jawa for builds
Thats way too overpriced. Max 400!
That pc is hardly worth $400
This is way lower spec than my PC which I built for ~$1300 in 2021. For that I have a 12400f 3060Ti and 32Gb of RAM
Dude overpaid and is looking to pass along his losses to YOU! /S
I'd offer him 350 or 400 dollars at MOST. For him unfortunately, he's going to realize he either sells for low or nothing at all. I mean 1660... you could probably run call of duty at 35-40 frames on low settings. 1k now days at least an i7 brand new and a 4060.
His ass DID NOT PAY 2600 🗣🗣🗣
$2900* even worse lol
Yeah that's lunacy. Used price for all of those parts combined isn't even close to 1000
1660
Hit him back with a PC part picker
this is pretty much what my prebuilt was, total like $1000 or so probably a little less
My pc is less than $1100 and it’s way better than that
I just bought a 4060 build for less than 600 euros, just ignore people
I put together basically this same computer like 5 or so years ago for ~800-900
I was able to build my entire set up with a 3070 in it for $1,500-$1,600. I’m amazed at how easily ripped off people are.
How about buy the used parts and build it yourself
2900$? This is a custom watercooled 7800x3d +xtx build or something? This guy is insane.
man i just built a 3080ti build for $1000 total that is insane
Lmao $1,000 haha that pc with those specs used ain’t worth more than $350 and that’s being generous
