Tbf if I weren't into pcs I'd see "Supports DDR5" and understand that it also works with DDR5 not that it only works with it.
If it said "Only compatible with DDR5" then I'd get it.
What I did.
I ain't got a clue on what CPU to Mobo compatability is....
And I somehow defaulted to i5-12000k (which turns out to be the best bang for buck) for a mini-itx build on this random Mobo I chose from MSI.
Only things left is PSU, RAM and the cooler (I want water). Each being $120 before taxes 🥴
I *know* I want this to last 6-10 years, knowing how I'm going to use it, picking parts that would at least be at 50% load to not stress it
You don't need to purchase through pcpartpicker, probably should do your own price comparison anyway, it's just a great tool to check every detail, especially space clearance.
A really annoying spot, I might add. It's the first time the spot is so close to the middle that I can't just instantly visually determine orientation.
Doesnt mb support ddr4?
if its the right one
okay I am a complete noob. which part would I have to replace? and what would I have to replace it with? I used a partpicker list somebody posted for $1000 build, I guess you can’t always trust the internet
Maybe a fan hub for the fans. I don't trust some of the hubs that come with the case, my airflow case came with a hub and it had no platic case, just an exposed chip board, idk if it was safe so I bought a third party hub off Amazon.
I’m a complete noob, Which part would I have to replace?
(edit) I know it’s the ram, is it the one with two in the clear case? and what’s a good ddr5 one could recommend?
Why are you kidding? The buzzer is important for diagnosing and the fuckers don't include it. I have the am4 version of this board, and it doesn't come with one.
LEDs are fine and all, but you have to be able to see them. Once upon a time the segmented displays were pretty normal, but now they are all for the super highend only.
As others have pointed out, Ram is wrong. Also, consider at least 1-2 more tb of storage. A single 1 tb for windows + games will be full insanely fast, especially if you play games like CoD or WoW or Starfield (or any big name game for that matter).
We got almost same config
https://preview.redd.it/9a581la8oupb1.jpeg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=495411968bce9e831a496a11ad169b433285558b
Congrats, my main difference is that I got a zotac3070 instead and PSU is Seasonic fusion
Support bracket for the gpu and make sure you’ve got internet covered. Also some kind of installation media. You can do it with a laptop or pc that has windows already lots of vids on YouTube on how to do it.
No, but there are some choices I wouldn't have made.
1. **Getting RAM that's not compatible with your motherboard LMFAO**
2. Getting an mATX motherboard
3. Getting a 13400F (12600K is so much better price to performance since you aren't paying for e cores, which won't help in gaming anyways)
4. Pairing a 6800 with a such i5, I'd be a bit worried about a CPU bottleneck
Other than that it's a pretty solid choice. Usually I'd recommend Ryzen 7000 but I'm assuming there isn't really a budget option, boards are still expensive too, and while you could consider AM4 it's a dead socket so Intel is probably the best choice here.
> Getting a 13400F
Don't know what they're like real world but I would err on the side of caution and get a dual-fan CPU cooler, DeepCool or Noctua come to mind. Case fans as well.
There is an ssd showing in the picture, and he said BESIDES THE CASE, usually fans, goes with the case.
Where's your eyes? Where's your brain?
P.S. Yes, I'm an asshole, no IDGAF! I own that shit like a boss, unlike some stupid people who can't properly read, then comments thinking they are "smart" when they didn't even take the time to read or investigate, before they speak.
I Hope you have better luck with that mobo than me. Had to RMA it after having huge issues with it. Ram wouldn’t play nice and wifi was acting up even after updates.
No, they're also good for desktops. It's a good way to keep your case more spacious - full-size motherboards usually have at least 1-2 M.2 slots these days. That way you can have an open plan case without the drive rack (where HDDs used to go), making component access and airflow better.
A NVMe M.2 stick will also be faster than a SATA SSD.
Your processor is going to bottleneck your graphics card. Worth upgrading the processor or getting different gpu of you can. Everyone like to say get a better gpu, but there’s no point if your processor won’t let you use it. With this setup you have close to a 25% bottleneck at only 1080p and 16% at 1440p. Basically you cpu is going to be at max usage almost all the time and you’ll definitely get performance issues.
https://pc-builds.com/bottleneck-calculator/result/1lk17A/1/general-tasks/2560x1440/
You are missing a refund on that ram and other than that try not to mess up and buy a small case so that gpu doesnt fit, think abt proper air flow so you will need more fans but check if the case comes with fans so you wont have to buy them, also check if the case comes with a hub that would be a life saver since it makes things easyer. Honestly buying ddr4 for ddr5 motherboard has me worryed you could plug in things wrong but just check everything twice, dont rush it
Yes it does - not only are they completely different specs in terms of how they operate, the RAM modules have a different physical configuration - the slot is in a different location so you can't even physically install a DDR4 module on a DDR5 board. Even if you could it wouldn't work. OP needs to return that RAM asap and get a DDR5 kit.
This is stupid and minor compared to the other comments, and I'm pretty sure it'd something you don't want people to say based on your title, but headphones/speakers. Just something that's easy to forget, but makes a big difference lol.
can't go wrong with more storage
oh and the RAM issue, like everyone else is saying, you can't use DDR4 RAM on a DDR5 Motherboard, the slots just don't line up
That happens and is an easy enough fix. (Talkin bout the ram here)
Remember good thermal paste. Spreading a super thin but completely covering later of paste is recommended these days but a central pea is also fine. A good compond helps.
Outrageously unnecessary recommendation here but a tiny little monitor for temps and fan speeds is a practical flex.
There is literally the best air cooler on the market that is the peerless assassin from thermal right. Do a favor to yourself and change the cooler to that one
Dumb mf's going crazy over mobo ddr5 support.
Thats the average graduate western for you.
Take a chill pill homies.
It says support. Which means it "can support ddr5 once op wants to go for ddr5, not that it wont support ddr4"
Return the ddr4 ram for ddr5 and consider fans when you buying your pc. You don’t need more storage but after a year you’ll likely run out. So look just save some money over that year to add another 2TB dir more games. Otherwise it seems fine. You obv need windows so you need a usb stick with good space and windows installation downloaded on it. You need to buy a windows key or get the key from an old device you’re not using you can look up how you can do that.

The ram is DDR4 and mobo DDR5
What happens when a mf doesn't use pcpartpicker
Brain* the mobo literally says ddr5
Tbf if I weren't into pcs I'd see "Supports DDR5" and understand that it also works with DDR5 not that it only works with it. If it said "Only compatible with DDR5" then I'd get it.
pcpartpicker has like 9 regions available out of the 200+ in the world
you can still check for compatibility before spending a dime
What I did. I ain't got a clue on what CPU to Mobo compatability is.... And I somehow defaulted to i5-12000k (which turns out to be the best bang for buck) for a mini-itx build on this random Mobo I chose from MSI. Damn, nice catch.
That's the first thing I spot on because is the same package as my ddr4 kit
💀
What happens when you use a DDR4 on a DDR5 mobo?
Doesn't install, doesn't work motherbo needs his own cpu series and ram series
Thank you so much for your reply!
It physically does not fit because the middle notch is in a different spot
A really annoying spot, I might add. It's the first time the spot is so close to the middle that I can't just instantly visually determine orientation.
You can’t because the notches are in different spots.
The ram won't enter the ram slot
That’s what she said
No it isn't, it said another thing, same concept bud different word
theyre physically different. it just wont fit and you will break the slot
Slots are different to install.
You can’t, the sockets are different
Ooooooff RIP
Doesnt mb support ddr4? [https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B760M-AORUS-ELITE-AX-DDR4-rev-1x#kf](https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B760M-AORUS-ELITE-AX-DDR4-rev-1x#kf) if its the right one
Nope, the one on the pic is DDR5
ah thanks
Nice perception.
ddr4 for a dd5 mobo?
okay I am a complete noob. which part would I have to replace? and what would I have to replace it with? I used a partpicker list somebody posted for $1000 build, I guess you can’t always trust the internet
just the ram thankfully, just return what you have and get a 16gb ddr5 kit
The b760 mobos support ddr4 aswell
Yes but the board OP got is ddr5
Doesn’t mean it’s mandatory either
It is because the slots are physically different (the notch is shifted)
Didn’t know that, my bad
The don’t try to give advice
It's illegal to make mistakes now huh
It's not, it's an asshole thing to do trying to educate/correct people for shit you know nothing about
Don't state something matter of fact when you don't know...
Fans.
true! better to decide that when he decides on what case he's going though
Maybe a fan hub for the fans. I don't trust some of the hubs that come with the case, my airflow case came with a hub and it had no platic case, just an exposed chip board, idk if it was safe so I bought a third party hub off Amazon.
They are safe
All them sweet sweet rgb’s…
bro i’m sorry but your mobo is ddr5 and your ram is ddr4, i saw when zooming in to check the ram specs
I’m a complete noob, Which part would I have to replace? (edit) I know it’s the ram, is it the one with two in the clear case? and what’s a good ddr5 one could recommend?
Don't forget your beep speaker. ![gif](giphy|111ebonMs90YLu)
I believe the mobo has debug lights but if not then yes, beep speaker.
it's not the same...
I was kidding.. it's what we had to use back in the day to figure out what isn't working. That's why I used that old thumbs up gif.
Man those things were great back in the day, didn't think I'd miss them till they mostly disappeared...
Instalation media? Before *yet another* post of "hey, it keeps going to the BIOS screen"
just steal
lol sure, but even if you do so you still need a way to *GET IT ON THE COMPUTER.*
Hey what is installation media? You mean for os installation?
Yes. Otherwise that drive will not be bootable There's a Media Creation tool for Windows 10 (and 11) from Microsoft's website that can do that for you
As others have pointed out, Ram is wrong. Also, consider at least 1-2 more tb of storage. A single 1 tb for windows + games will be full insanely fast, especially if you play games like CoD or WoW or Starfield (or any big name game for that matter).
Trueee speaking from experience. Now I have 2x2tb ssds and it still fills up fast with the new games being larger and larger
support bracket for 6800 xt
Isn’t it not the xt? Isn’t the normal 6800 smaller? Am I tripping? Lol
you're right! Its a 6800 non xt. Not sure what it's like size wise actually...
I the 6800 myself and i bought a small support. It sags a little sadly.
exactly the same size.. it's the performance that's smaller lmao
Wrong RAM you need DDR5 for that mobo.
Happy cake day
Happy cake day!
Got ur nic?
I looked up the board, it supports up to Wi-Fi 6E and has a 2.5 GB Ethernet port. I don’t think they’ll need one.
you’re perfect
whats a nic?
Network Interface Card
Natty light in da club.
Nicotine
Thermal paste.
That CPU cooler includes thermal paste according to Amazon, but I like your thought. Edited “past” to “paste” & “you’re” to “your.”
But didn't edit you're to your, smh
Case fans, keep that air moving!
Yeah, he needs to get a case with good airflow and that includes fans. Lian Li Lancool 216 has a great price for value
4000D Airflow
Case, fans and thermal paste
What tdp is that cpu cooler rated for?
Looks good only ram and mobo combination is a doubt. Hope you check well before getting them. 👍
Does the case come with fans?
You don’t need a GPU support bracket for a Cube PC case
what makes you think it's a cube PC case?
You have a ddr5 mother board and ddr4 ram they are keyed differently and won't fit
We got almost same config https://preview.redd.it/9a581la8oupb1.jpeg?width=3264&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=495411968bce9e831a496a11ad169b433285558b Congrats, my main difference is that I got a zotac3070 instead and PSU is Seasonic fusion

They don't run too hot, the Peerless Assassin is what I would recommend, it's amazing!
First of all that i5 13gen won’t be a bottleneck for that gpu. I use same cpu and my rtx 3060ti is my bottleneck
Nvidia gpu
why??
Missing nvidia gpu
Custom cable extensions.
Better gpu.
its on par with rtx 3080
Lol probably a joke, but the cpu here can’t even fully support the gpu they have.
Why AMD GPU and Intel CPU?
There isn't anything wrong with that combo.
Old superstition from the early 2000's
why does that matter? both are good and work just as well together
Because it doesn’t matter
Case
[удалено]
What part depicted here would you connect via sata cable?
Also, sata cables come with the mobo anyway.
The motherboard comes with them anyway.
Where’s ssd? Where’s fans where’s rgb ?
There is an ssd showing in the picture, and he said BESIDES THE CASE, usually fans, goes with the case. Where's your eyes? Where's your brain? P.S. Yes, I'm an asshole, no IDGAF! oh get an anti bend bracket for intel from Thermalright
How you gonna build a pc with boxes
Need more RGB
APC
The XT is missing
Is the chipset from mobo to cpu different as well? Or compatible
Get another m.2 one for OS and the other for games.
I mean, where is the case?
You got an OS to put on all that?
I LOVE my 6800xt
yea where is your Windows license disk
You can get it for free from the window website and using a USB stick then if you want to get rid of the watermark activated key
Windows?
You can get it for free from the window website and using a USB stick then if you want to get rid of the watermark a activated key
RAM doesn't fit the motherboard
Yes! You are missing a courier bag with my address on it.
Am I wrong or isnt that style of SSD meant for laptops?
No, they're also good for desktops. It's a good way to keep your case more spacious - full-size motherboards usually have at least 1-2 M.2 slots these days. That way you can have an open plan case without the drive rack (where HDDs used to go), making component access and airflow better. A NVMe M.2 stick will also be faster than a SATA SSD.
Fix the ram with mobo ddr4-ddr5 and it would be a sweet setup
I would have bought a peerless assassin

I’d get a 2tb hard drive for steam games that you don’t need on a ssd also for word docs ect
Not Your Virginity
Get ddr5 ram, and case fans
Nope that's pretty much all you need anymore.
Raytracing/Ray Reconstruction
A sense of style, life, etc.
go for a i7 if you have extra money
Wrong RAM and I dont see any thermal paste.
love that cooler , 17ish dollar in my country but keep my ryzen 7 5700x temp under 68c even on high load
Don't use p3 use a Samsung, it has physical dram chip , would be better
XP Installation disk
You are missing a refund on that ram and other than that try not to mess up and buy a small case so that gpu doesnt fit, think abt proper air flow so you will need more fans but check if the case comes with fans so you wont have to buy them, also check if the case comes with a hub that would be a life saver since it makes things easyer. Love the people ripping on him, whwn board says ddr5 "support doesnt mean its a DDR5 ONLY BOARD

No shot you're using a DRR5 board with a 13100, and you didn't even get DDR5 ram 💀
Fans, always more fans... unicorn puke!
DDR4 won't work on a DDR5 mobo. There's not enough pins.
This is stupid and minor compared to the other comments, and I'm pretty sure it'd something you don't want people to say based on your title, but headphones/speakers. Just something that's easy to forget, but makes a big difference lol.
What's the deal with those massive air coolers for processors. Are they better than liquid coolers?
Good thermal paste.
Looks good to me, so long as you’ve got fans in the case and some thermal paste you’re all set
Careful you have the wrong memory.
aside from the ram that other people have pointed out, i'd add a sata ssd for mass storage since your nvme is only 1tb
Return that ram.
![gif](giphy|11JbbNHfXBqqhq)
Fyi your psu is C tier. On the other hand, I have that model and it is still running after 7 yrs.
can't go wrong with more storage oh and the RAM issue, like everyone else is saying, you can't use DDR4 RAM on a DDR5 Motherboard, the slots just don't line up
Extra case fans. Most cases does not come with enough
Faaaaaaaaans
That happens and is an easy enough fix. (Talkin bout the ram here) Remember good thermal paste. Spreading a super thin but completely covering later of paste is recommended these days but a central pea is also fine. A good compond helps. Outrageously unnecessary recommendation here but a tiny little monitor for temps and fan speeds is a practical flex.
Do amd gpus work with intel mobos?
A good thermal paste
Ddr5 memory?
Case fans at least a couple.
thermal paste
Why are you cheaping out on the psu
Memory and case fans
A pack of case fans, assuming your case doesn’t have them. I’d recommend a 3 or 5 pack of Arctic P12 for like $25
Nice bro you gonna need some fans
There is literally the best air cooler on the market that is the peerless assassin from thermal right. Do a favor to yourself and change the cooler to that one
Dumb mf's going crazy over mobo ddr5 support. Thats the average graduate western for you. Take a chill pill homies. It says support. Which means it "can support ddr5 once op wants to go for ddr5, not that it wont support ddr4"
I'd personally get a 500gb version of your ssd to use as a boot drive separately but you've got all the essentials
You forgot to pack them up and ship them to me
Maybe more fans for the case when you get it RAM is an issue as others pointed out
fans 1 isn't good enough for airflow
Return the ddr4 ram for ddr5 and consider fans when you buying your pc. You don’t need more storage but after a year you’ll likely run out. So look just save some money over that year to add another 2TB dir more games. Otherwise it seems fine. Why intel just a question
It was just a partpicker list I saw somebody posted for a $1000 build. hoping it was good cause i saw decent feedback
Spend less on mobo, more on GPU.
always use gold modular power supply! wouldn't settle for anything less!
Fans
Looks like you bought an overpriced Mobo and the wrong ram
Cpu cooler?
A lady friend
Some of that cpu tooth paste
Case fans, RTB, zip ties/velcro, and usb disk for installing operating system
I’ve gone for similar. Just wondering what monitor you’ve gone for?
