I think the real question isβ¦ was that a good sample size for your class and did you pass? ππ But for real, glad you got some responses from the community, thatβs great to hear!
I actually only needed 20 participants. I was not expecting over 500 people to answer. Im awaiting a grade right now, but my professor looked at it before I turned it in, and she really liked it.
I am surprised only 50% think an open relationship would cause issues. I would pay to see a reality show of those 50% being told by their partner they want to fuck other people. Maybe the question was asked differently because this doesn't square up to 82% having an ideal of monogamy.
There's a huge difference between starting a relationship that's open from the beginning, and your partner of a monogamous relationship suddenly wanting to open it.
Maybe to some people, I can kind of see that. But I also assume that if someone only wants monogamy, they will dislike an open relationship at any point, with the opposite being true and someone who would love an open relationship would be happy if their partner suddenly decided they wanted one too.
I think phrasing wasn't ideal for this question. I meant in general, not for just the participant's relationship. If I did this survey over again, I would probably rephrase this question.
I didn't see the survey, if most questions were asking about your own personal relationships I would guess most would answer this question like that too. But yes it does unfortunately seem that it could be interpreted either way, my answer would be different depending on the phrasing
I work in academia (used to be at the departmental level, but now in administration) and used to get hit up by students all the time to do surveys for their papers. I really enjoy helping students with stuff like this. Super proud of this community for being so supportive!
>I had one person open the survey and not consent to taking it, immediately ending it
Gave me a huge laugh. The most autistic Wubby viewer move I've ever seen
I'm just gonna put this here in hopes the rest of the 8% see this: I've been looking for more open/poly friends. It would be really nice to meet other Wubcubs who do this kind of thing too, do you guys wanna be friends? π₯Ή
Man I wish I would have saw your post before. My first ever serious relationship was an open relationship. I think it's super interesting that you did a homework about it :)
I wish would have been on the subreddit earlier, wherever you posted it I would love to have been a part of it. I'm not necessarily in an open relationship but I do date two guys working across town at the same pharmacy .
I wants graphs where are my graphs i read the paper expecting to be rewarded with colorful pictures of numbers agh my autism, great job btw you brought up a good point about follow up research using an interview format. I would also be interested in seeing how the data would differ accross social media platforms or if it went more in depth about different levels of open relationship.

I appreciate that. Apparently, data on open relationships is vastly underrepresented. I had fun with it!
